IT $301.92 Gartner 3Q adj Earnings, Revenue Beat Markt view

Tuesday posted a better-than-expected rise in profit for the third quarter, with sales increasing amid double-digit growth in contract value.

The Stamford, Conn.-based research and advisory company said net income rose to $174 million, or $2.17 a share, compared with $149 million, or $1.76 a share, for the prior year.

Stripping out one-time items, earnings came in at $2.41 a share. Analysts polled by FactSet had been forecasting adjusted earnings of $1.87 a share.

Revenue increased 15% to $1.33 billion. Analysts were expecting revenue of $1.30 billion, according to FactSet.
