Skillsz1 picks for index
Could you give us his picks before the 1/31 inclusion into the index.
LTFD...what kind of lawsuits
God it's a Bingo operation, are the little old ladies cheating in bingo again.
Could you enlighten us as to what the lawsuits are about.
Gacf: Wade you forgot to tell Bobwins
Barron holds 10 million warrants at $1.40 exerciseable until April ?......I think this has put a ceiling on the stock until the expiry of those warrants...in fact I'm hoping the stock doesn't go over $1.40 as I don't want the dilution.
Wade: Gacf
They filed a 8-k/a....is this new information? Or are they just late in filing this paperwork.
bbotcs: TGB
A move to the TSX isn't a big deal in the whole scheme of things, it might put it on a few more radar screens in Canada but things are moving along and it's probably a good ideal to put it away for 6 months but keep an eye on the price of gold and copper. Things don't keep moving up forever.
bbtocs my estimate for TGB
I have an estimate of 25 to 30 cents for the year, what I don't know is the P/E I should assign to a mining company. Last year they did around 5 cents for the whole year.
There are too many good things happening over there especially with gold over $500 and copper over $2.00. TGB is probably announcing a move to the Toronto Stock Exchange, an increase in the reserve report, an increase in milling output, the investment in a smelter, and the preparation to move ahead with Prosperity(the gold mine). There is speculation whether they have the resouces to take on the gold mine by themselves but it's a nice problem to have. Too many positives to ignore bbtocs, I think we get over $2 before the end of the year.
Whatever you do don't use ETRADE
I signed up for Etrade as they can buy a stock on the London Stock Exchange for me....I transfered a 6 figure amount in and tried to talk to someone after hours on Friday and Saturday and have waited 45 minutes on the phone to talk to a person. I know I will regret using these guys, maybe I'll make the trade and get the certificate and go elsewhere.
Broker needed for London Stock Exchange
I'm looking at a stock on the LSE, does any of the discount brokers allow trading on the LSE? My current broker Ameritrade, doesn't have access.
May get ugly in Tech land tomorrow
The Tokyo stock market is having a tough time this evening, and with earnings missing on a few of the techs yesterday, after the close, it's going to make for a tough opening.
Wade-depends on the date of the documents for GACF
If they are trying to push the 3.1 million into Mar. I would be satisfied, but the issue is the auditors if they have a Dec. year end. Auditors will look at dates to determine what is the proper period for the transaction.
GACF-Could be dead money until April
The Barron warrants (@1.38) puts us in a conundrum Wade. The stock price is around $1.40 now. I would hope that Barrons doesn't add the 10 Million shares to the current share count.
If the current price goes to $1.75, you can be sure Barron will exercise. If the share price sits at $1.40 or below, Barron won't exercise.
Wade, does the company need the money from the warrants? What are your feelings on the warrants?
Gripe with Ameritrade
Ameritrade is my only broker account. I attempted to buy United Airlines (UALAQ) but they are in bankruptcy and are on the pinks. Ameritrade wouldn't let me buy any....and client services showed me the client statement I signed limiting me from buying companies in bankruptcy.
The thing is, United is coming out of BK next month. It doesn't seem right to me that Ameritrade should be monitoring the types of companies I want to invest in but should be there to assist me in completing my trades.
Are other brokers like that?
GACF-wade
Was there any mention about getting on the AMEX Wade. Also are you saying we could expect at least 5 cents per quarter for 2006?
Cl001: From TMFZ Nov. 10Q
This statement comes from the 10Q
"By retaining a substantial portion of our mortgage loans in an investment portfolio, we will be assuming significantly more interest rate and loan default risk than under our existing business strategy, where we sold the mortgage loans we originated generally within 30 to 60 days of funding the loans."
So instead of taking the loans and selling them, they are now relying on the interest payments from the loans.....too me, it's a big fundamental change in the business and you can't rely on previous numbers to forecast whether it is properly reflected in the current stock price.
CL001 regarding TMFZ
Do you have any ideal or estimate as what the EPS would be as a REIT, apparently the are required as a REIT to payout 90% as a dividend. But it seems to me they are now holding the mortgage loans whereas they were selling these loans previously. Seems much riskier than their previous business plan. Plus you are now recognizing interest income versus previously a one time sale so EPS has to be smaller, but how much smaller?
EFJI has a lot of irons in the fire
Nextel and their rebanding will create a lot of revenues for them, they should start seeing rev's from them this year and for the next few years. Also this IWN project by the federal gov't potentially worth several millions to them as it's potentially a billion dollar project.
Pdge interested in who bought
But it would also interesting as to who sold....doesn't Barron hold a healthy amount of shares?
Wade not greatest news on GACF
Getting new auditors so late in the year doesn't shine a positive light on the company. Perhaps they are going on the AMEX and needed auditors with a more national exposure but the timing isn't great.
My bet is the year end(if their y/e is Dec.) results could be late. I haven't checked SEC filings but hopefully no dispute with the auditors.
I think the biggest hassle for the auditors will be for the division that sells parts . Since they bought all the parts and reselling those parts, it will be difficult for the auditors to verify and do an inventory count. The other divisions entail "larger" transactions but shouldn't be a real problem to audit.
Wade have you talked to the company recently?
Around for 80 years
You expect more than this from a company that has been around for more than 80 yrs. I've spoken with Jacobson once...he was quite professional and hopefully he takes the company to the next stage. But I want to see a move in the share price this year.
One big dividend would be nice
Not sure I'm waiting around for them to develop another mine....other than this mine, is there any history of them being successful?
Wouldn't it be better to settle with BMY
Now a long protracted battle and only the lawyers benefit and now a "for sure" outcome is questionable
Just think.....
If they could sell for $500/ton and the profit margin was $300/ton.
Then the clay could be worth $300 X 300,000tons = $90 million to the bottom line b/f they find more reserves.
Tough to value this company because the clay is limited and with 45 million shareholders that equates $2 per shareholder in earnings paid over the life of the mine and before taxes.
Should be interesting this year if they start generating revenues, where the stock price goes.
Moves with NNAN
ALMI seems to correlate their movements with the movement of NNAN.. I guess when people are anticipating NNAN will announce some contracts, that will benefit ALMI.
As long as ALMI moves up I'm happy.
Agreed Guy about TGB
The two things to worry about is the price of copper and the warrants expiring in Sept. Mgmt seems to finally have it's act together and hopefully '06 will be proof.
Wanted to buy some ERI but
Since I sold a bunch at a loss, it would create a "wash" trade and I need my losses this year.
Only one way to go with TGB researcher
I think all the negatives have been "caked" in with this stock...even if Cu goes down, the stock can't go much farther down. They'll have enough cashflow soon to pay for a smelter without going to the bank.
They have a gold mine that they are getting enviromental studies and trying to figure the $$ it would take to start operations.
Rumour has it they may even increase production at the Cu mine.
Unfortunately they have more warrants that don't expire until Sept of '06, maybe they can call them in early.
What weakness on TGB
This is as high as the stock has been in quite a while.
Just to clarify Wade
The Q4 earnings release for TGB is the July-Sept quarter. Very few of us believe the numbers will be great. The numbers for that quarter/year-end will be released some time this week. I believe that the smart money has already discounted that quarter.
The current quarter (q1) is nearly over and we anticipate a much better quarter because of the rise of the price of copper and the issue of a shovel being inactive has been corrected. The bad news is that the CDN$ has risen against US$.
We're hoping to hear some good news on the CC like:
1) No more dilution
2) Increase in production
3) Efforts to reduce costs to what was anticipated
4) Plans regarding the refinery and the financing
5) Plans on opening the gold mine and the expenses to get it open
Hope this helps.
Did ERI give a reason for shortfall?
Was it just timing of revenues going into next quarter?
Big bid on ERI
It was there and now it's gone...but maybe the tide has changed here.
TGB expectations
I think most people are expecting 6 to 7 cents for the quarter ending Sept. but expectations are a little higher for the Dec. 31 quarter end but higher cost because of the higher c$ will offset some of the optimism.
Last year Rogue
If I remember correctly, you got to bottom fish in December but then in January there was another downturn in the stock market. Could be the same this year, timing is everything.
Director buying shares of RGEN
Problem is that it was probably an exercise of an option that he got at 15 cents.
TGB free cashflow
Wasn't the free cashflow approx. 10 million per quarter? If it is, they should easily be able to finance the refinery from the cashflow and some debt from the bank or gov.
Regarding smelter for TGB
I believe it's been reported on another message board that on their CC they stated they were going to build a smelter but they were not going to issue any shares or warrants. Instead, they would finance it through cashflow and bank debt if required.
What's going on with CORG?
Anybody help
At closing
I believe all the board of directors of the previous company that NNAN merged with resigned. This is a cheap way for NNAN to go public but as long as the previous company is "clean" then everything should be fine.
Also I think they did a private placement and raised 4-5 million. Hopefully they'll be in a rush soon to announce some innovative processes for the clay and off to the moon ALMI will go.
Do you think NNAN would buy ALMI
Makes only sense to secure their supply that they would potentially buy ALMI....problem is that NNAN has no cash yet.
Is NNAN working on any other "processes" that don't involve the clay? If they aren't, you would think they have an eye on ALMI.
NNAN helping ALMI
Still say that nnan going public can't hurt ALMI. The smart investor will understand the value of the clay to nnan and almi.
NNAN is trading at $2
Hard to believe Natural Nano with no revenues is worth that much but let's hope they have great plans for the clay.
There's 44 million shares so the companies worth close to 90 million.
