should i shut down my computer for the night before going to bed?
if so, how is this done automatically?
a co-worker told me he does this to save power and another told me that always turning off the computer can do damage to the system.
what i usually do is just disconnect my high speed connection when i am done and about every 3-4 weeks turn off everything including modem which is what my isp provider told me to do couple of years ago to do.
any help will be appreciated.
thanks.

Pet Ecology Brands, Inc. Reaches Agreement with Distributor for 7,500 Premium Pet Retailers; Implementation of the Agreement Will Allow Pet Ecology to Exceed Its Goals for 2005 for Retail Distribution
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2005-10-27 09:48:01
Business Editors
DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 27, 2005--
Pet Ecology Brands, Inc. (OTC: PECB.PK)-
www.petecology.com - reported today it has negotiated an agreement
with TR Sales& Distribution Co., Inc., based outside of Kansas City.
TR Sales & Distribution has been a key factor in the success of
Greenies(R) dog treats, and services over 7,500 pet retailers across
the US. In 2002, TR Sales earned Greenies(R) top-selling status by
outselling the next 3 largest distributors combined. Distribution of
the Pet Ecology products is expected to begin immediately.
Deborah Evans, Director of Marketing at Pet Ecology, stated, "We
are very excited to be working with TR Sales & Distribution, who
represent some of the best products in the industry. They have a
well-organized and experienced sales force with a proven track record,
having been instrumental in the success and widespread distribution of
Greenies(R) dog treats. TR Sales has established strong relationships
with their retailers and are very particular about the products they
represent. They only represent products that they believe in and,
because of that, when they recommend new items - their retailers buy.
We believe that we will be exceeding our goals of market penetration
for 2005, and that the market will continue to react favorably to our
products that are truly changing the pet products business."
Pet Ecology's COO, Jane Lorenzen, added, "We are very pleased with
the addition of TR Sales & Distribution to our growing list of
distribution channels. They are a major distributor to over 7,500 pet
retailers nationwide and are in the process of tripling the size of
their current product catalog to over 100 pages of premium pet
products. This distribution agreement potentially puts us at over
three times our targeted goal of 2,500 stores by the end of this year.
The receipt of the Pet Product News Editor's Choice Award, plus the
addition of TR Sales and Distribution to our distribution team, has
made October a very exciting month for our company."
About Pet Ecology Brands, Inc.
Pet Ecology Brands, Inc. has developed a revolutionary patented
cat litter that destroys urine odor, clumps, and is earth-friendly.
The litter is ultra-lightweight and convenient to use (3lbs works like
21lbs of clay/sand based products); it is 100% flushable and safe for
sewer and septic tank systems. It is completely safe for cats and our
environment, and does not contain any sodium bentonite, as used in
competing brands. The design helps to protect the landfills, and yet
does everything that clay litters do... and more. It has the ability
to help indicate certain diseases commonly occurring in cats. The
technique used is similar to that found in Merck's Veterinarian
Manual. However, this litter not only warns of possible illness, but
may also help indicate how far along the illness may be by the color
the litter changes to, thereby providing the pet owner significant
additional benefits and an early warning system concerning the cat's
health.
Pet Ecology's K-9 Fat Free Dog Treats(TM) are the first fat free
treats on the market that meet the standards of the U.S. Department of
Agriculture, and offer dog owners an effective means to provide their
pets with a non-fat tasty treat. They are also cholesterol free and
sodium free. According to U.S. News & World Report, "the number one
health problem for dogs is obesity." Today, dogs are fed fat rich food
and treats, and often get significantly less exercise than required to
maintain an ideal weight and healthy condition. Overweight dogs are
more prone to serious injury, skeletal stress, and the same
complications that people experience with significant weight gain via
fat rich diets, ranging from heart and lung problems, to skin and
kidney diseases, to circulatory and immune system issues.

hey guy's, thanks for answering so quickly.
did not know it was dangerous to open up a tv.
i'm gonna call a repair shop tomorrow and get a quote.
if it would be under 100 bucks to repair, i might get the job done otherwise probably gonna get a new one.
money is not really the problem, i prefer to keep what i have and not get another tv.
a matter of consumption only for me.
of course nowaday's less expensive to buy a new one than repair.
also get a larger one too for that matter.
go figure.
something weird about that picture.
thanks again and have a good night.
hi everyone, was wondering if anyone here knows any good websites that they have tried about tv repair or knows the topic itself.
all this past week, my tv has been on the fritz about several times per day with the screen going blank and just a long horizontal line being displayed from one end to the other.
i have a jvc 27inch tv that is only 8 years old and has always been working normal.
i checked around the ihub boards and did not come across anything.
google has not been much help either.
the posters here have good advice on technology(computers)and i would appreciate any help in this matter.
i feel this is just a part that needs replacing and i won't have to bring it in to a shop to repair.
thank you.
