think about it.

moby...
u must be new to biotech. sa?
sa - no way. google previous bio trials in sa.
of note, just because one travels around a country does not mean one understands the country. i've traveled/studied sa for decades and still cannot predict sa and/or prez actions; too much mirror image. however, gild loves sa.
ur friendly,
cl.
fellow TTPers...
just read this board for the first time.
did not know you guys were over here. i too hold TTP plus GTCB, and several other bios.
good luck to us all.

ANY COMMENTS ON TODAY'S CALL?
NOG... you are correct sir!
i only know one thing "fer sure" reference PPHM, investing with PPHM has caused me to drink. :)
ur friendly,

come on PPHM, daddy has tuition to pay.
mr. gym... sounds good to me :)
while living with the kurds in northern iraq, i always found a preference for goat over fatty lamb.

question: 6 to 18 months; fact or fiction?
question: are both Deutsche Bank and Rodman and Renshaw incorrect?
note: R&R is not highly rated in my analyst folder.
thanks in advance.

COR cannot wait on the FDA...
No kidding; who can wait on the Feds?
Bottom Line: the FDA is spineless, gutless, and just simply weak. Also, pathetic and pitiable come to mind.
The Dems have finally neutered it.
ur always friendly,
cl.
"After receiving the telephonic notification from the FDA, the Company immediately made its announcement on October 11, 2007. Although Cortex has not yet received the formal written response from the Agency, it has been re-evaluating its development strategy. The Company now believes it can no longer wait for the written response from the Agency and that it should proceed to discuss its future development plans with its shareholders."
wahjjhugo...
ur welcome.
of note: national geographic is not necessarily accurate nor a-political. but, great shots and a light, enjoyable read.

COR mentioned in Nov 07 National Geographic; Remember This - In the Archives of the Brain, Our Lives Linger or Disappear. The entire issue is devoted to Memory.
http://magma.nationalgeographic.com/ngm/ngm.html
http://magma.nationalgeographic.com/ngm/2007-11/memory/foer-text6.html
(pgs 54 -55)
Within the past decades, drug companies have elevated the search to brave new heights. Armed with a sophisticated understanding of memory's molecular underpinnings, they've sought to create new drugs that amplify the brain's natural capacity to remember. In recent years, at least three companies have been formed with the express purpose of developing memory drugs. One of those companies, Cortex Pharmaceuticals, is attempting to develop a class of molecules known as ampakines, which facilitate the transmission of the neurotransmitter glutamate. Glutamate is one of the primary excitatory chemicals passed across the synapses between neurons. By amplifying its effects, Cortex hopes to improve the brain's underlying ability to form and retrieve memories. When administered to middle-age rats, one ampakine was able to fully reverse their age-related decline in the cellular mechanism of memory.
It may not be long before drugs such as ampakines begin to reach the market; when they do, they could have an enormous impact on society. Though the pharmaceutical companies are searching for therapeutic treatments to stave off Alzheimer's and combat dementia, it seems inevitable that their pills will end up in the hands of students cramming for exams and probably a whole lot of other people who just want to enhance their brains. Already psycho-stimulants designed to treat ADHD, like Adderall and Ritalin, are used as "study buddies" by as many as one in four students at some colleges trying to increase their concentration and improve their memories.
All of this raises some troubling ethical questions. Would we choose to live in a society where people have vastly better memories? In fact, what would it even mean to have a better memory? Would it mean remembering things only exactly as they happened, free from the revisions and exaggerations that our mind naturally creates? Would it mean having a memory that forgets traumas? Would it mean having a memory that remembers only those things we want it to remember?
cl.
Thanks dew...
Not to argue, nonetheless, 3% you say Herlihy said to shareholders? I must have missed that CEO Proclamation.
All RGEN's documents basically state their goal is:
"Repligen and MIT are seeking damages adequate to compensate Repligen and MIT for ImClone's unlicensed use of the patented technology and we will also seek a multiplier of any damage award based on ImClone's willful infringement."
Settling out of court for 65 mil is not bad.
cl.
(an example)
WALTHAM, MA - June 12, 2007 - Repligen Corporation (NASDAQ: RGEN) announced today that the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts issued a favorable ruling on the sanctions motion filed by Repligen and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) against ImClone Systems, Incorporated (NASDAQ: IMCL) based on conduct that in Repligen's view constituted intimidation of a central witness in the Erbitux® patent infringement case. The Court found that one of ImClone's in-house and one of ImClone's outside counsel violated Massachusetts Rules of Professional Conduct that prohibit lawyers from unlawfully obstructing access to evidence or otherwise engaging in conduct that is prejudicial to the administration of justice. The Court further found that the actions of ImClone's counsel were intended to block the cooperation of a key witness and that these actions prejudiced Repligen and MIT from fully prosecuting their case. As a remedy, the Court barred one of ImClone's in-house counsel from any further access to, or use of, confidential information in this case. The Court also prohibited ImClone from any further communication with the witness or his employer regarding this case without permission from the Court. The Court further granted Repligen and MIT permission to introduce evidence of the improper conduct of ImClone's attorneys at trial to lay the foundation for the jury to infer that ImClone itself believed that the witness's testimony supported Repligen's and MIT's claims in the litigation.
"We are pleased that the Court has given us relief for this misconduct and has set the case for trial," stated Walter C. Herlihy, President and Chief Executive Officer of Repligen Corporation. "We look forward to fully prosecuting our claim against ImClone in September."
cincinnatus...
so, why is RGEN down 15 % today?
tia.
cl.
RGEN:
1. settles with IMCL (today) for 60 mil (keeps 40 mil).
2. 20 mil already in bank.
3. sales basically cover annual ops costs.
4. sales increasing.
5. PII due.
6. only 30 mil shares outstanding.
7. trial with BMY in April 08.
Is it just SELL the NEWS?
1 Year of O&S on-hand...
Personally, I think every bio should have at least one year of O&S on-hand.
It should be annotated, board/shareholder approved, and reported. Thus, we would not have had as much tumult over today’s unpleasantness.
Anyone adding like me?
Your friendly,
cl.
Oh, want $$’s in the bank, product in production (increasing), product in development, and more (10 Sep court date against IMCL)? I give you: RGEN.
haysaw...
every day is great but today, sweeeeeeet.
cl.
don't know...
what the next play is, but, "we" need to be in-play.
the flu is both alive and well. and, getting worse.
t-flu is not the answer; many write it is the cause for future horror.
your friendly,
cl.
will make some suggestions next week.
(Ref: SRDX) Dew... Hope you had a long position.
I say hope as don't know what you are long and/or watching.
cl.
quantumdot...
was a LTL with ALTH until today. too baffled myself to keep my long position (was expecting, no, braced myself for another huge bio haircut at the opening). i could not envision after today's announcement of failed P3, the PPS would increase, yes increase, +19%. at least, for once, i had a fine gain nonetheless.
now, deciding on my next couple of bios. looking to add to both GTCB and COR.
cl.
herr cougar...
personally, i enjoy reading BIOWORLD Today.
so, take a breath, and put Precious on ignore.
ur friendly,
cl.
Ms. K...
Stunned, astonished, amazed, aghast, staggered...
Oh, the answer ref your question on the two failed pivotals? the FDA doesn't need no stinkin pivotals. FDA flips and flops at will. I too am stunned by their decision.
Still long PPHM? I am.
cl.
Finally. Get mad PPHM; not angry, but mad.
Even if PPHM is just fighting for their IP in China, the residual effect should affect us investors favourable.
ur friendly,
cl.
jazz...
that's not OT. it is just the truth.
please forward to PPHM CR. they probably won't know what to do with it but it is worth a shot anyway.
PLUS, China is just a drop in the cancer bucket; Japan, Korea, India, Vietnam, Indo,... been there and seen it. 10's of millions need our help today. 100's of millions in our tomorrows??
but, why PR it earlier than next week. now after 20 years PPHM wants to save money with no PR? "China, who me? a trip? me? no comment. don't want anyone to know about PPHM."
PPHM's "tree falling in the woods" strategic public relations stealth campaign. someone should classify it top secret and brief it to the dems, it will be front page news everywhere plus 24/7 on the tv voice medium in less time than a commercial break.
ur friendly,
cl.
ventor...
bottom line: PPHM will not do squat.
however, they should PR all China events like the second coming. because you say? because in ASIA, it is. billions and billions of asians. they all smoke if they can afford it. worst pollution in the world. Asia problems were made for PPHM.
PPHM is the real deal.
PPHM should have been PRing this for months.
but no, we are the quiet company. don't want to draw attention to an actual significant event. please be quiet. we all love the huge pipes. why neck-down the flow with an actual increase in PPS.
ur friendly,
cl.
Partially OT: TTP & ALTH...
I know I sound like a broken record but take a look at these two bios. I have been a mild pusher of them on the old VIRS board for at least two years and will not push here but they are both worth a look.
PPHM is still my largest Bio holding. Plus, I do think China will bring in a little money along with our production facility.
Lastly, my passport is current, and I am willing to go back to China on a fact finding mission (on this Board's expense account of course). Business class and the Hilton Beijing will be adequate.
ur friendly,
cl.
TTP...
Too bad for NVS but great for us LTLs who hold TTP.
My second score with TTP.
Just wondering if BP might now be interested with the PIII complete? I read the BP rumour somewhere but can't put my hands on it today.
cl.
herr blade...
my sub to dr. garren's letter just expired. after two years, i am looking for a leter that compares to this board.
any suggestions?
an "in the red" bio investor.
tia.
cl.
got that.
but 15 million is still 15 million. (150 mil would have been serious!)
i would like to know what NVS knows and wants or is trying to keep some other pharma from getting.
there has got to be something there.
thanks.
cl.
dew... question...
why did NVS pay 15M? and, potentially 405M?
why now? why not wait for Pix?
oh, I was a buyer with the PPS in the low 1's.
tia.
ur friendly,
cl.
you ever take a look @ ALTH? i hold.
1B by 8 Dec?: no; too early.
HCV: yes.
AC: yes. Enrollment complete: yes.
Merry Christmas to one and all.
ur friendly,
cl.
oh, buy a little of ALTH. i am a ltl of ALTH and one can profit two ways: 1.) results equal rise in PPS, and 2.) take out by BP. remember: items may be closer than they appear!
BSR...
exactly.
two very close relatives of mine passed in the last 60 days.
1. doctors and family are not on the same sheet of music.
2. side effects do matter. alot. see: CTIC's potential.
3. keep posting. u do good work. and, changed the fish photo. losing too much money for that happy pic.
cl.
ms. k... thanks.
why? a simple question that no one can answer. i knew that when i posted it. just in a good mood and wanted to have a little fun.
for once, i am not worried about PPHM; even knowing PPHM will do another horrible finance job or two or three in the future. what's another 50 million or 100 million cheap shares to our doctors. millionaires do not worry about things like that.
(300%) or 3 X $2.00 is not bad. however, we LTL have zero idea what PPHM is about to do. all i know from history is PPHM is willing to do one cheap financing after another to meet their payroll. after two decades, i do have the history.
that said, the shares i took @ .88 and added to @ .98 do look nice. i am looking for big rewards for taking the huge gamble with PPHM.
cl.
Why? cl. eom.
why??????????????????? dare i ask??????????????????????????
since i know better than to expect any PR from PPHM, why today's little run?
please speculate.
that is all we shareholders have, speculation. or put it another way, that is why the insiders are insiders. duh, cl.
but, as investing in bio's is a mirror image of gambling, i really do not care why. just run over $2.00 asap.
i am really looking for the day we hit $5 plus and other Big Players can come over and share our playground with us LTL.
your friendly,
cl.
yes, the ole double-edged poisoned pill.
for whom does it really toll?
cl.
i know i do.
finally, HUMAN, HUMAN, not mice.
not to be offensive to mice, but HUMAN.
your friendly,
cl.
gee, two of us agree that the PPS actually matters.
cl.
mr. falcon...
i have been long PPHM for years and years.
i know investing in biotechs is akin to gambling. no, it is gambling.
i often wonder if we early PPHM investors are brillllliant or crazy.
PPHM is either one fine gem or perhaps fools gold. me, i think it is a gem.
that said, most investors buy during the run up, not before. why hold a penny stock for years when one can buy it above 5 and take a smaller, much, much less risky ride.
cl.
PPHM 3:50pm 1.39 -0.14 -9.15% N/A N/A 1.39 1.40
guess someone (or a lot of someones) did not like the presentation.
me, i am long.
cl.
so Ms. K, you don't care if i join or not?
where is the love.
cl. :[) i have a mustache. :[)
ms. k...
looks like we were correct after all; all those years wondering why we were the only ones with faith in our undiscovered PPHM gem.
now, having been proven correct, i must note it was difficult hanging in there like the lone ranger.
best of luck to us investors and the patients who sign up for the phase tests to come.
cl.
OT: Exactly, BP. Déjà vous.
Huge news pending after years of dilution. (PPHM is diluted by 100M shares more than the average in their sector.) Then, huge volume without any PR. Remember what the new (VIRS) CEO said, “Well, the long term shareholder will loose a little, but this is a good deal for all others”. Especially the insiders, management, and the BP.
Anyway, I am ready for whatever happens. I have averaged way down over the years. Thus, PPHM is my second largest holding. Even Mother Chantilly has a position.
Besides, I know you will keep me informed; you always have. Sorry, either IHub or I deleted your earlier priv message. Thank you. I will email you tomorrow.
February will be a defining month for us who have hung in there for all these years.
cl.
