CNXC -2.48 to 58.98, making new lows .... I don't know what's behind the weakness and added a few shares .... however there were some price target cuts and a downgrade after the earnings -
fly 3/27 -
Concentrix price target lowered to $84 from $121 at Barrington
Barrington lowered the firm's price target on Concentrix to $84 from $121 and keeps an Outperform rating on the shares following the fiscal Q1 report. The reduced target is due to being conservative given increased business risk, the analyst tells investors in a research note. The firm believes the Webhelp acquisition should represent meaningful cross-selling opportunities and views Concentrix shares as undervalued.
Concentrix downgraded to Underperform at BofA on lack of near-term catalyst
As previously reported, BofA analyst Ruplu Bhattacharya downgraded Concentrix to Underperform from Neutral with a price target of $60, down from $85, as the firm lowered its FY24 revenue and EPS estimates to the lower half of the guidance range, versus the prior midpoint of guidance, following the company's Q1 report and guidance. While the firm says the valuation "appears attractive," it sees the demand environment remaining relatively weak and does not see a meaningful catalyst in the near-term.
GE +8 to 144, a great day for the stock ..... the market likes the split up -
briefing -
At the company's Investor Day in March, GE Aerospace reaffirmed its 2024 guidance and presented a longer-term financial outlook, including expecting to achieve ~$10 billion of operating profit* in 2028. Additionally, GE Aerospace shared a capital allocation framework to invest in growth and innovation, while also returning approximately 70-75% of available funds to shareholders.
S&P500 +18 to 5224, well I guess that brutal two day 1.5% correction is over, lol.
JAZZ operating income peaked in 2018 at $614M and was $578M last year. Of course if you want to back out amortization of intangibles and give them a free ride on drug development failures, acquisitions, etc, the financials look better, but the market may not see it that way.
JAZZ (117) looks cheap on a PE basis but the company has lots of debt and Q4 product sales were flat y/y although royalty revenue helped total revenue. I think a lot depends upon their new drug pipeline. If they have some successful new drugs, the stock is undervalued, but otherwise they may struggle to grow revenues as in Q4. Also the stock is basically unchanged over the past decade, badly underperforming the broader market. Maybe that will change in the future, but it's a poor track record. It may be a better stock to trade than hold. I'll be interested in seeing the Q1 results in early May.
WBA -.82 to 18.72, really breaking down technically. My covered call strategy isn't looking good at this point. Of course the market selloff isn't helping. I'll let you know how it plays out.
GE is now 3 stocks .... GE, GEV and GEHC (GE Healthcare was spun off in Jan 2023) ..... I don't follow them but added them to my watchlist. I'm curious to see the analyst estimates when they get published.
DJT 10K had a going concern clause, but maybe Trump supporters will be willing to snap up new shares offered through a capital raise ?
10K, note 1 -
The Company lacks the financial resources it needs to sustain operations for a reasonable period of time, which is considered to be one year from the date of the issuance of the financial statements. As a result, these factors raise substantial doubt about the Company’s ability to continue as a going concern.
DJT +3.59 to 52.25, the borrow rate to go short is currently an astronomic 727% at IB, yet there are no shares available ..... evidently there's loads of demand to short this grossly overvalued stock even at 727% ! PUTs are also available at very high premiums.
DRCT -1.21 to 13.10, unfortunately I covered at a small loss when the stock rallied, but put in GTC orders to short at higher prices. Those orders never got filled. I didn't want to pay about $0.30 per share per week to stay short, but it would have worked out ..... hindsight perfect as usual.
TSLA -10 to 165, the delivery number was even worse than analysts expected, down 8% y/y despite all the price cuts. It will be interesting to see the Q1 earnings on 4/23. The PE is now 57 based on the FY24 estimate for EPS of $2.91. That's rather expensive considering all the challenges facing the company.
https://www.wsj.com/business/autos/teslas-first-quarter-vehicle-sales-fell-as-ev-market-cools-45bad95f?st=ef10em8dmrqjyju&reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink
The market strength throughout Q1 was surprising given the decreasing likelihood of even 2 or 3 rate cuts this year, let alone 6. Now zero rate cuts is coming into play.
S&P futures down 21 .... maybe sentiment changed with the start of the 2nd quarter and we're finally going to get a minor correction. We haven't had so much as a 2% dip in quite awhile. A pullback is long overdue.
WBA - I picked up a very small starter position today and wrote the weekly covered calls against it .... premiums are pretty good for a stock like this so I hope to steadily bring down my cost basis by rolling over the calls each week. WBA Feb Q2 was solid with adj EPS of $1.20, but for 6 months it was $1.86, so the guidance implies EPS of just $1.41 midpoint for the 2nd half. Maybe they're being conservative ? But this stock has been in a downward spiral for the last decade and maybe it's still just a value trap with a forward PE of 6.
Ironically they've spent billions of dollars buying back shares at much higher prices over the past decade. The money would have been better applied by reducing debt. Very remindful of BBBY (Bed Bath and Beyond). They spent a ton of money buying back shares and then went bankrupt because they couldn't service the debt. LOL
WBA -1.77 to 19.92, last week reported solid Feb Q2 earnings but mildly disappointing guidance. Dividend yield is 5% (but maybe it will get cut again) and the PE based on Aug FY24 guidance is barely over 6. The chart shows technical support at around $20. You were wise to sell at $29 last June. Any interest at this price level ?

Walgreens Boots Alliance beats by $0.38, beats on revs; guides FY24 EPS in-line (21.02 ) :
Reports Q2 (Feb) earnings of $1.20 per share, excluding non-recurring items, $0.38 better than the FactSet Consensus of $0.82; revenues rose 6.3% year/year to $37.05 bln vs the $35.86 bln FactSet Consensus.
The U.S. Retail Pharmacy segment had second quarter sales of $28.9 billion, an increase of 4.7 percent from the year-ago quarter. Comparable sales increased 4.8 percent from the year-ago quarter.
Pharmacy sales increased 8.2 percent compared to the year-ago quarter. Comparable pharmacy sales increased 8.7 percent in the quarter compared to the year-ago quarter, benefiting from higher branded drug inflation and strong execution in pharmacy services. Comparable prescriptions filled in the second quarter, adjusted to 30-day equivalents increased 2.7 percent from the year-ago quarter while comparable prescriptions excluding immunizations increased 2.9 percent. Total prescriptions filled in the quarter, including immunizations, adjusted to 30-day equivalents was 305.7 million, an increase of 2.6 percent versus the prior year quarter.
Retail sales decreased 4.5 percent and comparable retail sales decreased 4.3 percent compared with the year-ago quarter, reflecting a challenging retail environment, channel shift, and a weaker respiratory season, including a 170 basis point impact from lower seasonal and general merchandise sales, a 90 basis point direct impact from softer cold cough flu trends, and a 40 basis point impact from adverse January weather.
Co issues in-line guidance for FY24, sees EPS of $3.20-3.35 vs. $3.24 FactSet Consensus.
TGB (2.18) got all the required permits for the Florence mine and has begun construction, but it's a time consuming project and production won't commence until late next year -
I'm still holding my shares.
PR -
Florence site preparations and civil work are well advanced, and we're looking forward to commencing wellfield drilling, with four rigs planned to be onsite initially. Construction of the SX/EW plant and other infrastructure represents a significant portion of the remaining project spend, and a fixed-price contract with TIC Kiewit will reduce inflationary risks, as Arizona continues to be a very active construction market. Our early work on detailed engineering and procurement of long-lead items has significantly de-risked the construction schedule and we're tracking towards first copper production in the fourth quarter of 2025. We're taking a disciplined approach to the buildout of the commercial facility at Florence, while our existing operations at the Gibraltar Mine continue to generate good cashflows in a strong copper price environment."

TSLA -3 to 172 was the worst performing stock in the S&P500 for Q1, down 29% ..... they report Q1 deliveries tomorrow -
Tesla's Terrible Quarter Catches Some Analysts Asleep at the Wheel -- Heard on the Street -- WSJ
(Dow Jones 03/29 06:00:00)
By Stephen Wilmot
Tesla is having a shocker of a first quarter. The sell-side consensus is
behind the curve, investors much less so.
The electric-vehicle pioneer might not even match the 422,875 deliveries
it made in January through March last year when it reports quarterly volumes
early next week. That would make for the first year-over-year decline in
sales since the pandemic lockdowns of spring 2020 -- not to mention some
tough headlines.
We don't know precisely what numbers the company will report, not least
because it still has a weekend of the quarter left. But we have a fair idea
based on a patchwork of data from third-party trackers.
In the U.S., Tesla delivered roughly 108,000 vehicles in the first two
months of the year, according to estimates by Motor Intelligence, down from
114,000 a year ago. Insurance data tracked by EV website CnEVPost point to a
similar 5% year-over-year decline in China for the first 12 weeks of the
quarter. These are Tesla's two largest markets.
Can the rest of the world save the day? In Europe, sales for January and
February were roughly 46,000, according to the European Automobile
Manufacturers' Association -- up 41% year over year, but a step down from
the sales rate at the end of last year.
This isn't just about weak demand for Tesla, though that does appear to
be a problem despite the brand's aggressive price cuts last year and an
enhanced U.S. subsidy regime this year. Production has also flagged, because
of an update to the Model 3 production line in Fremont, Calif. and an arson
attack in Berlin.
Whatever the reasons, attentive analysts on both sides of the bull-bear
debate have been downgrading their estimates. On Thursday, Deutsche Bank's
Emmanuel Rosner, who rates the stock a "buy," trimmed his delivery forecast
to 414,000. At the other end of the spectrum, longtime bear Gordon Johnson
cut his estimate to 406,500 on Tuesday, when the latest Chinese insurance
data came in.
The analyst consensus given by FactSet has fallen a lot in recent weeks,
but at 457,000 it remains much higher than the latest estimates. That is
likely because the average takes into account many stale estimates from
analysts who aren't looking at the most-recent data.
One hint of where the actual consensus among investors sits -- the number
that might determine whether the stock falls or rises on the report -- comes
from Kalshi, which runs a so-called prediction market that allows bettors to
wager directly on Tesla's delivery numbers and other trading events. As of
Thursday, the consensus indicated by bets on the platform was for sales a
bit below 420,000.
Delivery numbers aren't the only thing Tesla investors focus on, of
course. Right now, the company's automated-driving software is causing a lot
of excitement, though progress is hard to pin down. Still, sales remain the
bedrock of the company's growth prospects, including for software: The more
vehicles Tesla sells, the more potential customers for digital subscriptions
later. That helps explain why the stock is down almost 30% this year.
The big gap between the analyst consensus and what investors actually
expect also implies that official earnings estimates are too high.
Currently, the consensus earnings per share for 2024 is $2.87, which
compares with a share price of $180 to give a forward earnings multiple of
63. But the real multiple of what investors expect is probably a lot higher.
Tesla's stock is even more expensive than it looks.
S&P500 up 10% in Q1 ..... the Russell lagged with a 5% gain, but still a solid quarter .... but we're overdue for a correction.

ADFJF +.45 to 6.85, nice rebound, but I would have preferred weakness since I'm accumulating and most of my GTC buy orders have gone unfilled.
DRCT -10.29 to 16.22, looks like my short was a mistake with the stock already up over 20% from the morning lows. Evidently traders are looking at the selloff as a buying opportunity, LOL. I may soon cover at a loss since I did not expect a rebound like this. I'd guess it eventually trends lower, but who knows when ?
CNXC +3.08 to 65.31, it opened down at 59.96 but quickly bounced .... I think it was a decent quarter and guidance given how beaten down the stock is ....
briefing -
Concentrix misses by $0.01, beats on revs; guides Q2 EPS below consensus, revs below consensus; reaffirms FY24 EPS guidance, revs guidance; committed to $100 mln in repurchases (62.23 -0.38) :
Reports Q1 (Feb) earnings of $2.57 per share, excluding non-recurring items, $0.01 worse than the FactSet Consensus of $2.58; revenues rose 46.8% year/year to $2.4 bln vs the $2.38 bln FactSet Consensus.
Co issues downside guidance for Q2 (May), sees EPS of $2.55-2.70, excluding non-recurring items, vs. $2.83 FactSet Consensus; sees Q2 revs of $2.325-2.372 bln vs. $2.38 bln FactSet Consensus.
Co reaffirms guidance for FY24 (Nov), sees EPS of $11.69-12.50, excluding non-recurring items, vs. $11.96 FactSet Consensus; sees FY24 revs of $9.51-9.70 bln vs. $9.63 bln FactSet Consensus.
Co added, "We are seeing a strong pipeline for our AI and technology-led solutions. This allowed us to achieve the high end of our revenue guidance and our profit target for the quarter. Reflecting our confidence in our outlook for 2024, we are committed to repurchasing $100 million of our shares over the final three quarters of 2024 while maintaining our dividend and our debt reduction commitments."
DRCT -11.50 to 15.01 in premarket - I just shorted a few shares at IB. It doesn't deserve to be trading at $15 after the disappointing Q4 earnings and FY24 guidance.
ADFJF (6.28) - I'm also accumulating. Looks like a very nice find. Thanks for bringing it to the board.
Wade - GERN (3.25) - I think $6 by year end is very unrealistic, but anything is possible. Do you expect it to trend up steadily ? Or make a base in the low $3's first before moving higher ?
DJT +20.90 to 70.85, on its first day of trading under the new symbol .... I guess we should have all been loading up on DWAC in the $30's a few days ago ! PUT premiums are astronomic as traders bet the stock will soon plunge back to earth - the valuation is crazy !
CNN -
The eye-popping valuation is a massive windfall for Trump, who owns a dominant stake of 79 million shares.
At Tuesday’s opening price of nearly $78, that stake is worth nearly $6 billion, although lock-up restrictions likely prevent Trump from selling or even borrowing against those shares anytime soon.
Trump Media generated just $3.4 million of revenue through the first nine months of last year, according to filings. The company lost $49 million over that span.
And yet the market is valuing Trump Media at approximately $14 billion.
https://www.cnn.com/2024/03/26/markets/trump-media-stock-truth-social/index.html
GERN - 2030 is 6 years away. That's an eternity for investors. Analysts estimate the company will continue to post losses for 2 more years before modest profits in 2026. I think the stock will be stuck in the $3's for a long time, at least for this year.
GERN -.02 to 3.29, I think imetelstat gets FDA approved in June, but the stock remains range bound in the high $2's to mid $3's until then. So it could be a good trader. Even after approval the FDA will oversee that the manufacturing process has excellent quality control which can be challenging. Commercial success may also be limited by the adverse side effects and competition with better name recognition.
CNXC (61.27) files for the sale of 13.7M shares by major shareholders - maybe this leaked out weeks ago and explains the weakness in the stock ? There may have been a lot of front running by those in the know.

Impressive gains, albeit in a risky and concentrated portfolio, but raises the question as to why in your real portfolio are you 95% in cash ???? I could understand 50%, but 95% seems crazy high.
DWAC +1.30 to 44.11 to start trading as DJT tomorrow -
briefing -
Digital World Acquisition Corp: CNBC's David Faber says there is "no doubt" that shareholders will approve SPAC merger tonight; says Truth Social/Trump Media will trade under "DJT"; former President Donald Trump will own a roughly $5.7 bln stake (44.11 +1.30)
DRCT -3.63 to 28.16, lots of traders are interested in shorting this stock. The borrow rate is currently 116% at IB and they have 157k shares available at the moment.
FEIM +.09 to 10.47, I followed your lead and sold for a 10% profit ..... management lost some credibility with that disappointing Jan Q3 report. I may get back in on a pullback.
RMAX +1.17 to 8.95 on news of a surge in existing home sales along with a 54k share insider buy. I think this stock will be much higher is 6 to 12 months. Yes, commissions are going to get dinged by the new rules, but the new rules were fully anticipated by the litigation over the past 5 years. This was a $45 stock just 3 years ago.

CNXC +1.11 to 61.19, hasn't made a new 52wk low since hitting 59.23 on Monday .... it seems to have finally found support ahead of the earnings on Tuesday.
SMCI -50 to 860, there should be support at around this level when considering they just did a capital raise, selling 2M shares at $875.
CNXC +.89 to 61.87, looks like the stock might have finally found a bottom so I added a few shares ..... Feb Q1 earnings are due out on 3/26.
Economists see the chance of recession at 40% within 12 months, the lowest probability in nearly 2 years - I think the chances are even lower.
The continuous momentum in the economy helps explain why economists now see a 40% chance of recession in the next year — the lowest reading since mid-2022. Those projections peaked at 65% in the first half of 2023 as the Federal Reserve neared the end of its most aggressive hiking cycle in 40 years.
“The US economy remains the envy of the world,” said James Smith of EconForecaster LLC. “Both real economic growth and employment growth remain strong while inflation rates and interest rates are falling.”
