Pardon my lack of knowledge, i'm a builder not a c.p.a., but what are these transactions regarding the Squires actually about? I understand that they are cleaning up the books so that they stand up to a higher level of scrutiny, but i can't wrap my simple yankee mind around the initial mess that needed cleaning. "Shares borrowed"? From whom and to what end? the only share borrowing i know of is shorting, which i don't imagine was the case.
Not specifically directed at you BigE, just replying to your last post as if it were the last comment in a live conversation among us all.
All interesting thoughts. One thing to bare in mind is that whatever investor sentiment is and whichever company seems to come out on top, eventually all companies will try to build the most robust I.P. portfolio. For that reason alone i will hold onto my chunk of qtmm.
It may be that Squires never intended QMC to be a producer of dots but rather a Company that the top dog can't afford not to buy. Personally i'd rather see qtmm dividends flowing in long after i've retired, but if they are bought out by a QD Vision or Nanosys made public, i'd hold that ticker too as this industry is warming up fast.
While i think the tetrapod dots will be great for many applications, i don't think the display industry wanted anything to do with them as they emit two wavelengths of light (as i understand it). I don't think QMC had anything to offer the display industry that larger and "better established" companies didn't already have before the advent of QDX. That said, i believe we are going to see QLED tech born of QDX which will be the final nail in the OLED coffin.
-Cheers
Second.
BURN!!! Go QTMM though, seriously.
something to do with the front loading last Thursday maybe?
I called dotolo back in the begining of the year and was told the company had basically been mothballed by the parent company (oclg) until further notice. I would assume Dotolo has been merged into the AMPT division based in Phoenix, if not dissolved or sold off entirely. Per my DD, the only money makers this company has are esteemcare which has good returns (as a c-pap user I can tell you this is a good business to be in), and Amian Angels which seems to hold its own. There is great potential here, but until they stop burning more than they are making its not going to move much, in my opinion.
Every time I hear "slurry" I think of "little lisa's animal slurry. " very funny.
Nope, first generation born in england of scottish parents so he's quite frugal and is more than happy with his egg. i told him about it but he wasn't really interested. He spent most of his carer studying spider silk. the wife learned early not to lift the towel off the box on the kitchen table as it likely had a heinous spider in it.
I think we are going to see qled in 2016. The main issue with using quantum dots in leds WAS heat tolerance and the related decay of performance inherent in manufacture and use. With QDX a film maker doesn't have to worry about the heat so much during production and over the lifespan of the device.
As i understand it from my materials research scientist father in law, and i may be wrong, there are a lot of people, at least at Cornell, actively trying to improve the lifespan and stability of OLED over time. This says to me that there the product still isn't what it should be.
QLED powered by QDX in 2016! go QMC! Baby needs a seat in the Winchester public school system!
does anybody know who the third party is? or what the settlement was about? the only settlement i know of was the bob glass issue. settlement of a convertible maybe?
Oh vfin, you're just like my wife, always turning down
the volume. QTMM
Can'o'corn? Not me, i work for Can'o'peas. N'yuck, n'yuck, n'yuck.
Having built a few led grow lights I can say with some confidence that plants care very much about the accuracy of light spectrum and thereby the quality of light. My spring veg seedlings look black under my lights because they are absorbing all the light they receive but under cheap commercial units they still look washed in red and blue. Nice led grow lights are big money so they are going to have to be what they claim to be.
I was at sears yesterday checking out the TVs and the Samsung suhd's look sweet but there is not a single mention of so much as a nano crystal in the sales pitch. Same with the LG uhd LCDs, but of course LG makes sure you know when a screen is oled. The sales rep had no idea what quantum dots. This is going to take a while.
NITE sitting on the ask with a fake wall of 40k...
VFIN scaring people off despite their buys yesterday.
Maybe, but it seems by the wording that it is still a batch producer, not continuous flow. Surely it would be a step up for the likes of nanoco. As I understand Qtmm's reactors, you just need to keep the hoppers full of precursors and keep replacing full 55 gallon drums with empty ones on the outflows ;)
altogether a good find and interesting read so thanks for sharing. I would wager that company is going to make some money off our competitors while they are trying to keep up through the cloud of dust qtmm leaves them in!
the higher temperature tolerance will aide in the manufacturing process as well allowing them to essentially be cast in place in a film or resin allowing for faster and leaner production methods than are now in place. Doesn't qtmm hold a patent on an oled printing method? oled and even qd enhanced led displays may be dead in the cradle if qtmm can use these new dots to print qdled display films right in the San Marcos plant. Also, this could hell make more durable thin film solar as well. I also seem to recall the university would be adding some sort of roll to roll printing something or other in the star park expansion...I think I need a cold shower!
Thanks buddy, nobody understands me, my thoughts, or addresses my concerns like you.
Could it be that they shipped qd samples for which the ip may be subject to lawsuit according to client specifications and that is why they can't take money for them?
My point is that it seems to me that QMC didn't have the right stuff for displays off the bat, but it seems that they are rapidly gaining ground via innovation. Hopefully they are dealing with 30-40 companies that aren't in the display industry and continuing to break ground in all of the emerging quantum dot markets.
GO QTMM
Just a thought / question on displays regarding qmc tetra pod dots, if tetra pod qd's have dual emissions, as in multiple spectrums of light on the output side, wouldn't that be an undesirable trait when looking for the purest color output? I'm not looking to get jumped for putting this on the table; I just don't have the time at the moment to read back that far. On the otherhand, the high stokes shift tech seems as though it should be a lock for the display and or other high color accuracy industries. I wonder if qtmm 's primary ip, mass production of tqd's just not what the display industry needed due to the duel emissivity. It seems to me like this might have been the primary impetus for buying the Baer ip pack because they had been talking to display companies well before that purchase. Having thought about this aspect I feel much better about the state of qtmm because if this is true it means that they didn't put all of their eggs in the display basket and it would seem that they are rapidly gaining ground in display targeted tech which, given the time span seems quite impressive. I actually think qtmm is starting to spool - up despite being late off the line and some serious lag this disco potato is gonna scream.
they mentioned the acquisition and the status thereof.
if by added you mean their trust was repayed in stock rather than cash, it might be better stated that qtmm payed off a loan their father made with stock.
Also, i agree S.E. the posners would do better to hold imho, but i think we all know a thing or two about trust fund kids...
From the most recent filing:
ah, the posners selling again. that could well explain why vfin was on the ask.
Hey man, my thumb is broke, just like the rest of me :) just happy to see my position going up in value for the moment.
Not that I don't love oclg, but i think they taught "what goes up, must come down" at my school...what with gravity and entropy being what they are and all.
Socrates was of a different opinion. Go qtmm
The man posted an article relevant to one of QMC's competitors, he did not post any opinion of his own with the article. I for one really like it when people post the complete article, or source, so i can draw my own conclusions from it.
The first step in my DD is always to check out the competition to see whether or not the company in question can survive in the market and this is an ongoing effort for the whole time i hold the position. Then i look at the filings, the industry, the people running the company and the science/technology.
Remember, Nikola Tesla was a great contributor to the scientific world and thereby to our day to day life, but the man died alone in a hotel room that was paid for by Westinghouse for the NINE years he lived there. Tesla probably could have given us even more if he was better at monetizing his 300 or so patents and he definitely could have a more comfortable retirement...probably even garage-lab to tinker in and his very own pigeons to feed.
I am very interested in what the competition is doing as it can directly relate to the price of QTMM. The study of an industry is entirely relevant to a company within that industry. I know my agenda is to make some money by being as well informed about the company, product, market, and industry i put my money into.
tried to slap the ask with some change just to see my position go up for fun, got for .0064, oh well.
Did anyone notice where the new Esteem care jobs were located? http://www.esteemcare.com/EsteemCareWebPages/index.html sites two locations
So, how 'bout that OCLG huh? Hell of an outfit they've got there.
Welcome to the board Deagle. Frankly, we're all expecting a PR in short order and i'm sure the IR hopes for one too as it will be an indication that they have a future in billing OCLG for their services.
I can't say i like VFIN sitting on the ask.
Oh there's another reason for volume spikes and dropping share price, the elephant in the room. I can't wait for the plumber to come in and fix the leaks.
I thank you as well brother, you old boys got the S@#t end of the stick and were beat about the head with it when you came home and its you guys we have to thank for the respect our young veterans receive because the only thing more despicable than a useless war is condemning those who were forced to march. I think americans realize that now; my grandmother was a protester and has never forgiven herself for condemning the instrument and not the wielder.
Another hard working American veteran here, i know my service helped me become a better person. those that serve for the right reasons usually come out more capable people.

(say what you want about my branch but i am proud of my service, would do it again in a heart beat, and stay in. I fired no shots off the range, i can't speak to how many lives's i helped save because i participated in over 350 search and rescue sorties in every capacity from radio ops to tieing a tourniquet on an eight year old girl, and i gladly spent weeks on end standing stern watch on a 41' with an m16a-2 in NY harbor in the dead of winter due to a possible threat. it made me a prouder and more respectable citizen)
I thought ihub forums were the barf-bags where people vomit all over good DD after a dip ;)
well, i nudged BMAK with my 400k...
While this is apparently losing interest for investors i have to ask, where are the 8k filings for the press releases? Also, could the "leaked" website have been bait? I realize nothing goes straight up, but we all have to ask legitimate questions when our capitol is concerned.
Nice! i didn't go the extra step to look at more videos, thank you for your diligence. also, my vote is for Dirty John because his name just raises so many questions about why it is acceptable to call him that on tv. I once knew a man named called Dirt and that raised far fewer questions in my mind. In fact, Dirt had a great piece of wisdom i'd like to pass on, "I wan't always in trouble when i was drinking, but i was always drinking when i was in trouble."
