Google could change (and rule) the wireless Internet
By Sinead Carew, Reuters
NEW YORK -- Google will have to create a new verb for wireless Web searching if it is to keep its role as the Internet trendsetter.
Google, a search engine so widely used on personal computers that its name became a verb, has a chance to trounce rivals by making Web searching more practical on gadgets like mobile phones, analysts say.
"The mobile game is wide open," Gartner analyst Michael King said. " ... It's one of the last frontiers."
No Internet company has yet emerged as a big brand in wireless, he added.
Relatively few people use phones to view the Web, but market researcher Yankee Group said Internet access will be available on most of the 552 million mobile phones it expects to be sold worldwide this year.
As the wireless Internet grows, Google and rivals Microsoft and Yahoo hope to benefit.
Google itself said in April that if it doesn't launch products that improve Web searches on handheld devices, it will fail to win a significant share of an increasingly important part of the online market.
"My gut feeling is it could be a competitive necessity for select Internet companies" to adapt their services for mobile, said IDC analyst Keith Wayras. He expects 30 million people, or 17% of U.S. mobile subscribers, to use the Web on phones in 2006, up from about 7% in 2003.

The only mistake anyone can make w/CMKX is sell to early. She's not begun to run....
Hopefully NEOM will stay low for a bit, to give us time to load up @ these discount prices..... All just my opinion for what little I know ;)
HOLDING NEOM LONG!!
"I believe that there is a possibility that e-shareholder.com has intentions for their controlling interest other than passive holdings, but I have no way to prove that."
Each year, millions of annual and interim reports are sent by companies to their shareholders - usually on paper.
There is a better way for you to receive this information AND it's kinder on the environment.
As legislation allows companies to gradually do away with paper based communications altogether, participation in the eShareholder programme gives shareholders an opportunity to express concern for the environment, and actually contribute to reforestation across the UK and Ireland.
If you hold shares in one of the partner companies you can sign up to receive your shareholder communications by E-mail and the internet, rather than on paper.
By registering for eCommunications the company will contribute to the forests of the future on your behalf, planting your dedicated tree in a specified reforestation location. You will receive a map of the location of your dedicated tree.

RE: diamondtech
I plan to unload my first batch of shares @ 10cents. w/An O/S of 10Bil shares it would only take $1Billion discover for a 10cent market cap. (I think the O/S is much lower then most investors. Some like to assume the O/S is maxed @ 500bil. But then again I think $1Billion is overly conservative. Adjust your calculations accordingly).
Check out the De Beers claim in Canada. Their claim is estimated to be worth $40-50Billion. This claim is small compared to the 1.4mil acre empire that CMKX has been building. The chart also supports CMKX, "Volume Proceeds Price." What other .0001 stock see's $4mil in one trading day???
I haven't been saving/keeping track of my DD so I can't toss you all the links my investment is based on. I don't conversate w/many CMKXers. But start w/the links that I provided in my last post. There is some good information there. You will also want to hear Melvin's (CMKX Investor Relations) little talks on IBC radio.(Someone please give diamondtech the links to the recordings.)
FYI: One of my trading buddys is a miner.
I'm in w/15mil shares. This investment/gamble is an all or none for me, w/a GTC to let me first batch go @ 10cents. I truly hope you buy some even if its w/a few hundred dollars. CMKX is a fun stock to own. The risk vs. reward is astronomical!
P.S. CMKX is fun on the side while we wait for NEOM to mature. Holding NEOM long and strong!!
"The claim we have in Northern Saskatchewan in Canada is not on Native land."
What do you think about CMKX? They own a 1.4Mil+ acre claim in that region.

The most notable kimberlite "pipes" or veins are found in South Africa, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Angola, Siberia and now Canada.
Unlike most kimberlites in South Africa and the Northwest Territories, Fort à la Corne kimberlites are almost intact with much of the kimberlite volcano still remaining. As a result, the Fort à la Corne kimberlite field contains the largest concentration of diamondiferous kimberlite in the world. http://www.kensington-resources.com/s/Property.asp

WHY DIAMONDS IN SASKATCHEWAN ?
- One of the largest known kimberlite clusters in the world.
- 130 of the 2000 kimberlite pipes known worldwide are macro-diamond bearing. 23 of these are located in the Fort a la Corne district of Saskatchewan.
- 80% OF SASKATCHEWANS's KIMBERLITE PIPES ARE DIAMONDIFEROUS.
- 50% contain diamonds over one millimeter in size.
- A high percentage of diamonds recovered are clear, inclusion-free and exhibit good crystal form.
- Pipes said to have erupted under inland sea and therefore have not been exposed to weathering or glaciation.
- Pipes lie within 300 feet of surface.
- Area accessible by paved all-weather road, with water and power readily available.
- Studies indicate cash operating costs of $10.50 per tonne, including overburden removal.
- Saskatchewan government encourages mining in the province.

Naked Shorting
What does it mean?
The illegal practice of short selling shares that have not been affirmatively determined to exist.
Investopedia Says.....
Remember, a short sale involves the sale of stock that belongs to someone else. So, a naked short sale occurs when an investor sells stock without knowing for sure that it can be borrowed. In the U.S., before you can short sell a security, you must affirmatively determine that you can borrow the stock. Keep in mind that the details of this regulatory principle will vary across different jurisdictions.
http://www.investopedia.com/terms/n/nakedshorting.asp
The fuss is over naked shorting, a practice that's been around for decades and that is sometimes legal. Normal short-selling involves borrowing real certificates for stock, selling the stock, buying new shares at a later date, and using the new certificates to replace the ones borrowed. Naked short-selling differs in that no real certificates change hands. Instead, the short-seller creates a paper entry showing that it owes shares to the stock buyer and will get around to delivering them later.
Naked short-selling is legal if done by a marketmaker in a temporary arrangement; it's normal for a marketmaker to be net short for a day or two and then close out the position by buying real shares later. Naked shorting can be illegal if done with the conscious intention of leaving the short position as a paper entry indefinitely.
It's often hard to tell the legal variety of shorting from the illegal. Nowadays most stock available for trading is held in book-entry form, and thus takes the form of electronic blips on the books of a stock-clearing company. Depository Trust &Clearing Corp.'s subsidiary is one of the leaders in the clearing business. In the normal course of business DTCC tolerates so-called failed-to-deliver entries of shares offered for sale by, say, brokers. This means the seller doesn't have the certificates on hand but promises to be good for them eventually. Is the clearing firm too tolerant of failed-to-delivers, thereby facilitating illegal naked shorting by brokers (or their customers)? That's the allegation in the lawsuits.
O'Quinn and his top lawyer on these cases, James W. Christian, senior partner with Houston-based Christian, Smith & Jewell, claim that over the last three years billions of uncovered naked shares were sold; that marketmakers (and/or their clients) took profits after waiting for share prices to fall before buying in--if at all; and that brokerages allowed fictitious shares to be traded two, three and four times over, in possible violation of Securities & Exchange Commission rules. Defendants deny the charges and have tried to dismiss some of the cases.
"It's the perfect murder," says O'Quinn, who is quick to smell collusion. "We've got a situation where the cop can't arrest the suspect because it causes too many problems for the police department."
But in this case the police seem to be getting involved. Last February the SEC levied a $1 million civil penalty against Rhino Advisors, a small New York City investment house, and its president, Thomas Badian, for using offshore accounts to short the stock of Sedona Corp., a King of Prussia, Pa. software maker and an O'Quinn client. (Rhino and Badian didn't admit or deny any wrongdoing.) Just last month Louisiana's attorney general issued a subpoena on behalf of that state's Sedona shareholders against UBS PaineWebber. (He's seeking information on failed stock deliveries, among other things.) In a separate civil suit Sedona wants a hefty $2 billion in damages against 17 defendants, including Credit Suisse FirstBoston's Pershing clearing unit and Westminster Securities, alleging their naked shorting knocked Sedona's share price so low that several big vendors shied away from doing business with it. New York's Attorney General, Eliot Spitzer, is interested in the case.

Right on the money JP: GO NEOM!!!
The lawsuit NeoMedia filed Jan. 26, 2004 is what initiated L-Scan's financial problems. This lawsuit scared off L-Scan investors. Would you feel confortable investing in a private start-up w/the lawsuit pending? (See #1 for a reminder). All just my opinion of course......
I understand why others may question Retireds credibility. They have every reason to, after all we are on an anonymous message board. Its good practice to take posts w/a grain of salt. However, after months of reading his posts I personally am convinced that every one of his posts are honest and sincere. In the past I've confirmed numerous statements that he made with my own due diligence (Days/Weeks/Months after he posted it). He's earned my respect and admiration.
By the way..... I just got back from Rice King.... I love fortune cookies.
"Someone is speaking well of you" ~Peking Noodle Co.
How often do you get this in fortune cookies Retired?!?! Just curious ;)
"... I get the distinct impression Chaz & Chuck would not willfully run a company such as L-Scan into the ground. IMO, its not in their nature..."
I second that, Chas is about leveraging not destroying!NeoMedia patented and will continue to patent their vision of "Connecting the Physical World to the Internet". They've stated numerous times that they are not attempting that the the market is to big for a single company to fully control. IMO they will partner w/company's that are not directly competing w/their applications (Example: PaperClick For Cell Phones) AirClic is definitely someone they want to destroy ;) AirClic took advantage of NeoMedia's vulnerability without hesitation (See #2 + Notes for a reminder). I doubt NEOM will show them any compassion.
A few people on RB have qeustioned whether or not NeoMedia's "bridging" solution is unique. The question is not whether NEOM's solution is unique but whether it was unique in 1995. Hint; They've patented their "solution", its unique!! OT: Wongyal; Take a serious look @ CMKX, I'm in @ .0001.
To all the RB bashers. I don't pump because I bought, I buy becuase I'm pumped and if you bash I hope you sell/sold.

FT. MYERS, FL, Jan. 26, 2004- NeoMedia Technologies, Inc. (OTC BB: NEOM), a developer and international marketer of software and patented technologies which link products, print, and physical objects directly to targeted online data, said today that it has filed patent infringement lawsuits against AirClic Inc., Scanbuy™, Inc., and LScan Technologies Inc.
The Complaint for Patent Infringement and Damages was filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division, by Baniak Pine & Gannon, a Chicago intellectual property law firm retained by NeoMedia
(www.neom.com) to protect its patents and IP portfolio. The Complaint claims infringement on four valid and subsisting patents owned by NeoMedia - U.S. Patents No. 5,933,829, No. 5,978,773, No. 6,108,656, and No. 6,199,048.
LScan (www.lscan.com) of Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, has manufactured, or has manufactured for it, and has used, or actively induced others to use, technology which allows customers to use a built-in UPC bar code scanner to scan individual items and access information, such as market data and pharmaceutical products. ;movies, music, comparison-shopping, information services and ring tones. <http://www.neom.com/corporate/press/2004/20040126.jsp>

NeoMedia Technologies and AirClic Opt Not to Form Alliance - Negotiations for Patent Licence Continue
FORT MYERS, FL - August 14, 2001 -- NeoMedia Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: NEOM), the international leader in print-to-Internet and commerce-enabling technology, said today NeoMedia and AirClic Inc. of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, will not pursue a Letter of Intent signed last month to form a strategic and financial alliance.
Charles W. Fritz, NeoMedia's chairman and CEO, said the two companies are currently continuing negotiations concerning the granting of a license to AirClic under NeoMedia's patents.
Fritz also said that NeoMedia received $500,000 from AirClic in July, which was an advance against royalties and is covered by a secured promissory note. With the Letter now terminated, Fritz said no further advances will be made by AirClic to NeoMedia, with the monies previously received to be repaid in six months. <http://www.neom.com/corporate/press/2001/20010814.jsp>

What woud be the immediate reaction if CMKX announced their current findings are worth an estimated $1Billion w/a 10Billion O/S? What happens when a .0001 stock has a announces a market cap. of 10cents?

Check 21 Generates Outsourced Solution Service T
(Thanks S-Man)
Standard Register continues to branch from its forms legacy. The provider of business process improvement, document management and other information solutions, has announced a program of services to help financial institutions take advantage of the significant cost savings resulting from Check-21.
“Check-21 is truly revolutionary legislation. For the first time, financial institutions can begin thinking differently about checks - not solely as paper documents constrained by traditional labor and capital-intensive operations, but as highly efficient forms of payment,” said Donna Beladi, VP of business development at Standard Register. “We can help financial institutions transform their collection and return process which should result in a substantial savings in transportation and processing costs.”
Standard Register's Check-21 program includes three key services - production of the substitute checks, processing of check statements with imaged checks, and an end-to-end program for creating and delivering NSF notices, year-end tax reporting and other personalized communications to customers.
Standard Register is a member of the Accredited Standards Committee (ASC) that develops standards for substitute checks. Its data processing, digital printing and Internet-presentment capabilities enable financial institutions to produce and deliver highly customized statements and communications electronically or via traditional mail. Moreover, Beladi reports that Standard Register has stringent security standards and controls in place for hosting and processing customer data. “With Check-21, financial institutions have the opportunity to streamline their processes and achieve new cost efficiencies," she said. "Our program of managed services will help our customers realize those goals, without having to tie up internal resources for implementation.”

The only connection ADSX has to NEOM is the same connection all RFID, Voice ID, Barcode companys have to NEOM. If they link to the internet their infringing! Enough said...
A FORM SB-2 was filed April 1, 2004. Assuming it took 30 days for the SEC to declare the SB-2 effective NeoMedia will have a credit line of $3Million May 15th. IMO the $3Million will be used to close the BSDS aquisition. Once the BSDS aquisition is complete we'll see the "12snap Consumer Launch". I was a bit disappointed today to see pps break the .057 low which explains my most recent post. But I know pps is BS...NOTHING HAS CHANGED! The markets perception of NeoMedia is WRONG! If I had only done my DD a bit later I would be benifiting from these discount prices more than a good avg. down @ .066.... But thats ok, hindsight is always 20/20 once the story unfolds for all to see NEOM will be hitting new highs. Buy low sell High... thats the name of the game.... I still say we've got a winner here! Time will tell... (Me vs. The Market)
The 12snap announcement is proof that we're close....

IMO the Virgin settlement, 12snap Consumer Luanch, Signing of major brands (LOI's mentioned in the SEC filings) will push pps to .45.
"For starters, the dilution from the $4m promissory note will be paid off by June 18th. The warrants of 40m are a one shot deal and don't increase regardless of the pps. Cornell is paying .075 for them so you can believe the pps will be higher than .075 just on that fact alone!" #msg-3068567

RE: smartbiz does this even though they are not
It doesn't matter what the ID code is. NeoMedia's patents cover RFID, Magnetic strip, Voice, manual entry etc.
The only way around NeoMedia's patents is:
1. Create a code that holds all the information to be extracted.
2. Copy the ID code then send it to a remote computer via email/instant message to then be decoded. Examples:
-Microsoft Aura
-Musikube's I-Capture I'm not sure on this one. See Personalazits post:
Remember diamondtech... They've patented the process of connecting a physical object to a remote computer. In other words, their core patents aren't barcode specific. But it does make sense for them to file for specific patents to make their portfolio that much strong.
