Yeah it can be annoying at times but, $25,000 equity is the FINRA minimum for a pattern day-trader, it's not just Scottrade. If you're interested in finding out more here are the, "rules." http://www.finra.org/investors/smartinvesting/advancedinvesting/daytrading/p005906
Use a slightly longer term trading strategy until you build enough capital to open a margin account, if only for the commission benefits. You don't want to be scalping/shaving, or making extremely frequent trades without commission discounts anyway. I use multiple accounts for various types of trades because of benefits and experience with each broker.
Volume = $280. Yippee. . .
It's all about Europe right now imo. Nothing matters for the near and long-term performance of Ford, and nearly every other stock, as much as how this European debt crisis is handled. We are truly at the tipping point of another global recession if this situation isn't taken care of properly. If sentiment permits, Ford will rock. If not, Ford will be down just like everyone else. In either case the direction of Ford beyond this month is almost completely reliant on the global economic sentiment. Of all the options, Ford is a good place to be. However, everything is somewhat of a gamble right now. Everything.
Introducing app development to the Sync system is big.
Zoltek Receives Award from Missouri Governor
ST. CHARLES, Mo. – A St. Charles-based business that has hired four military veterans in the past year under the Show-Me Heroes program is the recipient of the”Flag of Freedom” award from Gov. Jay Nixon. The Governor presented the designation to Zoltek Companies Inc. at a ceremony today.
“I am proud to award the Flag of Freedom award to a business that has made hiring veterans a priority,” Gov. Nixon said. “Missouri’s military veterans have served honorably, are well trained, and make excellent employees, and I applaud Zoltek for hiring four of these quality individuals. Show-Me Heroes is a great way to acknowledge the sacrifices made by the men and women of our armed services, and help our veterans transition back to civilian life when they return home. Especially during this holiday season, I encourage more Missouri employers to join the ranks of those who have hired a veteran through the Show-Me Heroes program.”
The Show-Me Heroes program, announced by the Governor in January 2010, is designed to connect military veterans with job opportunities when they return home from service. Administered by the Missouri Division of Workforce Development, Show-Me Heroes is a campaign to showcase Missouri businesses that are willing and eager to hire veterans. Employers participating in the Show-Me Heroes program sign a pledge to ramp up efforts to reach out to, recruit and interview veterans for job openings at their businesses.
So far, 1,702 Missouri employers have taken the Show-Me Heroes pledge and 989 veterans have been hired. The Governor was joined today by the director of the Show-Me Heroes program, Lt. Col. Alan Rohlfing of the Missouri National Guard, and by Julie Gibson, director of the Division of Workforce Development.
The award itself is a plaque featuring an American flag patch from the combat uniform of a member of the Missouri National Guard worn while that Citizen-Soldier or Airman was deployed in Iraq or Afghanistan.
Employers who wish to participate in Show-Me Heroes can visit the state’s Web site, MO.gov, to register and take the pledge. Once a company has done so, it is listed prominently in an online database that highlights veteran-friendly employers across Missouri. The database includes contact information for the businesses and links to their Web sites. Employers receive a special certificate, signed by the Governor, and a decal to display at their location. Beyond the employer directory, the Show-Me Heroes Web site also includes resources for job-seeking veterans, including links to employment openings in state government and a link to Missouri Career Source, a statewide one-stop-shop for Missourians looking for work.
“My administration remains committed to helping our veterans find jobs when they return home,” Gov. Nixon said. “I ask every employer in Missouri to visit MO.gov today to take the Show-Me Heroes pledge so we can express our gratitude to Missouri’s service men and women, while continuing to move our economy forward.”
Show-Me Heroes is one of several measures the state has taken under Gov. Nixon to encourage veterans to live, work, and retire here in Missouri. In 2009, for example, the Governor signed legislation gradually phasing out the state tax on military retirement income. Under the new law, by 2016, military veterans will not pay any state taxes on military pensions.

I agree it's more fun to trade than to wait and the learning process becomes accelerated, but like I said just be careful. I hope I don't offend you when I say it seems like you are somewhat new to trading. Just a friendly reminder to thoroughly consider your trading plan before you make trades and be especially careful with short positions.
You don't have enough money for long-term investment, but you have enough money for intraday short plays? That's a dangerous philosophy my friend. Be careful.
Well lucky for you and everyone else that isn't short, there haven't been many bad days around here in a while that haven't been followed by great ones.
Fluff > dilute > repeat
Easy money here. Trade the channel until news about their auto facility hits. Insider buying is a good indicator we will see news fairly soon. Trade the bottom, flip out your initial and ride the profits long term.
Depends on euro crisis development. If general market sentiment stays moderately bullish I think we will see F linger in the mid-high 12 range through the month of January leading into spring auto sales. If sentiment turns bearish we will likely test $10 again.
Strong sales figures and financials, relatively positive economic outlook compared to a month ago, recent long-term interest in dividend stocks, Ford showing new, globalized and impressive vehicles at the auto show, etc.
General market sentiment has gone to the bulls this week. We'll break 11 Tuesday no problem, IMHO. DRIPers are going to start flowing in and Ford's about to show off a whole slew of new, very impressive vehicles in February at the Detroit Auto Show. If it does move back down into the mid-10s I'll be buying some too.
Watch carbon fiber stocks (like ZOLT) today. Big news for GM and Teijin partner on mass production carbon fiber components, I believe others to follow. ZOLT just expanded with a newly created Zoltek Automotive subsidiary and a new 130,000 sq ft facility specifically to attack the auto market! With recent positive earnings news on top of the aforementioned, Zolt could be near a similar partnership and current PPS' are a bargain!
'Morning to you as well! Check out ZOLT's most recent PR's and finances. 2011 has been a great year of revenue and physical expansion for ZOLT and I believe it's just the beginning!
GM makes carbon fiber deal!

This bodes well for the future of carbon fiber companies like ZOLT. Just a matter of time before Zoltek's newly expanded automotive division snatches up a contract with an auto manufacturer for some huge business!

The recall had little to no impact. This is all general market movement.
Then go buy a GM or a Toyota. . . neither of them seem to have any problems besides cars setting on fire or accelerating out of control.
The charts will have less to do with next week's performance than developments in the EU.
That would have been nice, but it's good to end the week green. We'll go into next week on an uptick and positive news.
You're calling eastman kodak a scam? Financial troubles and bleak outlook, yes. Scam? Errrr. . .
Why are two completely opinion-based posts stickies here? Seems a bit manipulative considering you have no way of knowing if in fact the 52wk low will be tested OR if there is news that hasn't been released to the public. The stickies have always been for new information, news, updates, etc. Not 100% speculation.
You need news driving this up, not no news. I am looking for an entry point here, but this doesn't seem to be it. BTW nice username. My roommate drives a turbo e36. Of course, he can't keep up with my sti, but I've spent about the cost of his car on my engine and turbo setup alone LOL
Almost nothing Ford does will overcome the effect of Europe's issues. The whole market is in their hands now.
Movement here, and nearly everywhere, will be heavily dependent on developments in the EU. People aren't buying the rumors about China bailing the EU anymore and it shows in today's trading. If economic reform in Europe goes well, Ford will be a nice place to be. If not, well good luck everybody
Updated the IBox and added some important stickies. Let me know if you'd like to be an assistant or have anything crucial to add. Thanks.
Zoltek 10-K Annual Report Fiscal Year Ending September 30, 2011.

I bought in originally in the $1.XX range, so this is all gravy for me. I just don't see it dropping back below the high 9s for a while to come unless we see some bad developments in Europe.
ZOLTEK OPENING PREPREG OPERATIONS AND TECH CENTER IN ST. LOUIS, MO
11/17/11
Carbon fiber manufacturer, Zoltek Corporation (ZOLT), has taken a major step toward growing its carbon fiber prepreg capabilities by expanding into a new 135,000 sqft. facility just outside of St. Louis, MO. The new facility will house Zoltek’s prepreg manufacturing and new Technical Center.
The company is making the move in response to the growing demand of a low-cost carbon fiber prepreg supply in wind energy and other applications. “Our strategy has been to commercialize carbon fiber and broaden its use in industrial applications through low-cost and supply availability”, says CEO Zsolt Rumy. “Unfortunately, the current carbon fiber prepreg supply is fragmented and geared towards aerospace markets rather than industrial use. We are addressing this shortfall by consolidating the supply chain and forward integrating into prepreg manufacturing for select industrial applications.”
St. Louis is home to Zoltek’s headquarters as well as one of their four carbon fiber manufacturing facilities. In addition to manufacturing prepreg carbon fiber, the new location will also serve as a technical center for carbon fiber applications, specifically targeting wind energy and automotive applications.
Wind energy is a leading application for Zoltek’s prepreg carbon fiber due to its unique and inherent characteristics (high-stiffness, high-strength, lightweight). Recent trends in wind energy have spurred wind blade manufactures to create longer turbine blades which generate more energy. Carbon fiber composites have proven ideal for wind blade turbine reinforcement, enabling longer blades to capture more wind energy, even at lower wind speeds, and convert it to electricity.
Automotive is a growing application for carbon fibers, where the strength-to-weight ratio of carbon fibers enables vehicles to be lighter weight and therefore more fuel-efficient. Other applications include offshore drilling, infrastructure repair, marine, and other applications requiring a high strength and light-weight material.
In addition to the two production facilities in St. Louis, Zoltek has carbon fiber manufacturing facilities in Hungary, Mexico, and Texas.
I can't believe nobody is discussing this board. 60% PPS bump in two days and no chatter? Crazy! I got a nice 250 shares @ 5.85 on Monday.
Another strong day here. Lookin' very good!
Open high and close higher :D
Hope you're all enjoying this as much as am. Amazing.
There's some pretty solid support in the high $9's and $10~. Thursday, November sales will be announced and they're expected to be quite impressive compared to last year. I wouldn't count out a solid bounce here yet.
Double bottom confirmation will easily put this above $12. Some new vehicles coming and major refreshes for the 2014 MY. Huge buy under 10 imo. With Alan M at the helm and the quality of vehicles in the pipeline I think we'll see Ford make a run at most profitable automaker again next year.
Watching for a DBB here. Carbon fiber becoming crucial in the auto industry and ZOLT just expanded specifically to attack that market. Ford, GM, BMW, all of them using carbon fiber in new production vehicles. Watch this one closely.
NVDA gaining strength in the mobile processing world. New tablets running tegra 3 are about to flood the market, starting with the Asus Transformer Prime. Great place to be imo.
NFLX movement will be heavily reliant on contracts with studios for their streaming service. Watch blockbuster and apple closely.
