I agree
Nonsense mate. The facts re there for all to see
Things are well here. We are on the cusp of something huge here!
The patients specialist AND plastic surgeon have verified this.
Only good things will happen now!
Cannabis is illegal all over Australia under Federal Law, although some States have decriminalised it. There is however, an active underground movement that serves the purposes of compassion in lieu of formal dispensaries. There is one fellow who is taking it to the man and he is the one Dr Bob is coming to see in Oz, apart from speaking at MardiGrass and the Law Reform rally in Nimbin. I won;t say more on that. See this http://www.echonews.com.au/story/2010/01/14/making-medical-cannabis/
Medical cannabis is beginning to be more understood, and my role as a medicinal cannabis educator is to get the word out to the Government and LEO's
Australia is highly likely to be one of those markets. Dr Bob and Richard Cowan are coming to Australia to attend MardiGrass in Nimbin 0n April 30th and May 1st. I suspect there will be huge news coming from this visit. That is all I will say at this stage as I do not want to pre-empt any PR announcement on this issue.
I agree mate. Folks who are not in this for the long haul will always winge and carry on. Self proclaimed bashers are simply grist for the mill on a forum such as this lol.
CBIS is still doing all the right things. Further, Dr Bob is coming to Australia in April/May to speak at MardiGrass and the law reform rally in Nimbin. If it is anything like last year, I suspect CBIS will be tying up ties with folks here in Australia, and perhaps looking to move into the market down under. Now, that would be exciting and most certainly have a positive impact on the share price.
So folks, keep the faith. I am!
You keep forgetting that CBIS has an INTERNATIONAL market.
Yep, I am HIGH and dry lol, but I am in the mountains in the south so have not been too bothered. We have had the worst rains in decades here and there has not been much sun - which is slowing down outdoor grows.
However, in the west we have cyclones, in the south we have fires and locust plagues, in the north the flooding. I am half expecting to see the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse come riding down my street lol.
On a serious note, I was talking on the phone with Dr Bob a few days ago and can confirm that he AND the board od CBIS will be coming to Australia to speak at MardiGrass, the biggest cannabis law reform festival in the southern hemisphere. We are doing great things here with cannabis and skin cancer and CBIS is closely affiliated with our cannabis community. Perhaps this is the first move to go overseas for CBIS, which will have a HUGE impact on share prices.
Yup, no brainer. Those in for the long haul will reap huge investment return IMO,
This company is doing all the right moves.
Damn, next we may hear that CBIS is looking at joint ventures in other countries around the world. Australia makes sense to expand to, considering Australia has the highest ratio of skin cancers in the world, and CBIS is making a product that kills it dead! Keep your fingers crossed this becomes a reality. That would certainly cause a spike in the share price!
Cannabis Science Files Preliminary 14c Information Statement, the Action is to Create a New Class of
Cannabis Science, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: CBIS), a pioneering US biotech company developing pharmaceutical cannabis products, is pleased to announce to its shareholders and the investment community that the Company has filed its action to approve the decision of our Board of Directors to amend the Articles of Incorporation to effect a recapitalization of the Company by establishing two classes of common stock, Class A and Class B and to issue a dividend to holders of our current common stock so they received 1 share of the new Class A common stock and 1 non-transferable share purchase warrant for each 10 shares of the former Class B common stock that they previously owned as of the record date, December 31, 2010. Each warrant will grant the holder to purchase an additional share of Class A common stock at a price of $1.00 per share. The warrant will be exercisable for 90 days from the date that the Class A common stock receives a trading symbol.
On December 20, 2010, our Board of Directors approved, subject to receiving the approval of the holder of a majority of our outstanding capital stock, an amendment to the Articles of Incorporation to effect a recapitalization of the Company by establishing two classes of common stock, Class A and Class B and to issue a dividend to holders of our current common stock so they received 1 share of the new Class A common stock and 1 non-transferable share purchase warrant for each 10 shares of the former Class B common stock that they previously owned as of the record date, December 31, 2010. Each whole share purchase warrant will be exercisable into one share of Class A common stock at a price of $1.00 per share. The share purchase warrants expire 90 days from the date Class A common stock commences trading under its own unique symbol. The Amended Articles effecting the new class and share dividend will become effective following filing with the Secretary of State of the State of Nevada, which will occur promptly following the 20th day after the mailing of this Information Statement to our stockholders as of the Record Date.
We are currently authorized by our Certificate of Incorporation to issue 250,000,000 shares of common stock, $0.001 par value per share and 1,000,000 shares of preferred stock, $0.001 par value per share. Pursuant to the Amendment we will reclassify our common stock so that we can issue 250,000,000 shares of Class B common stock (our current class), 100,000,000 shares of Class A common stock (our new class) and 1,000,000 shares of preferred stock.
As of the date the Amendment was approved by our Board and the Majority Stockholders, there were 107,170,574 shares of our common stock issued and outstanding.
Reasons for the New Class of Common Stock
Our Board believes it is in our best interests and the best interests of our stockholders to create a new class of common stock as it will allow for greater value for shareholders in having increased dividend participation in addition to enabling the issuance of shares of our common stock or other securities in connection with such potential issuances and such other purposes as the Board determines at a higher price. The Board believes that the new class will afford the Company greater flexibility in seeking capital and potential acquisition targets. The Board has no immediate plans, understandings, agreement or commitments to issue shares of the new common stock for any purposes other than the dividend. While there is no immediate benefit for the Company arising from this recapitalization, we believe the added capital proceeds from the exercise of share purchase warrants into Class A common shares will benefit the Company in its capital growth objective and the added value to shareholders will retain their loyalty and commitment towards the Company ' s longevity and profitability.
New Share Structure
Upon effectiveness of the Amendment, we will be authorized to issue 250,000,000 shares of Class B common stock (our current class) and 100,000,000 shares of Class A common stock (our new class) and 1,000,000 shares of preferred stock.
Class A Common Stock (New Class)
Each share of Class A Common stock will be entitled to thirty votes per share on all matters voted on by holders of the Company ' s common stock. In addition, each share of Class A Common Stock will be convertible into Class B Common Stock at a ratio of 30 for 1, that is, every one share of Class A Common Stock can be converted into 30 shares of Class B Common Stock, at the election of the holder. Each shares of Class A Common Stock will also be entitled to a ratio participation of 97/100 th (97%) on all declared dividends on the Company ' s common stock, e.g. for every dollar of declared dividend on the Company ' s common stock, Class A will be entitled to $0.97. Furthermore, the Company will, as soon as practicable, apply for a unique trading symbol for this newly created class of common stock.
Class B Common Stock (Former Class)
Each share of Class B Common stock is entitled to one vote per share on all matters voted on by holders of the Company ' s common stock. Shares of Class B Common Stock will not be convertible into other classes of the Company ' s common stock. Each shares of Class B Common Stock will also be entitled to a ratio participation of 3/100 th (3%) on all declared dividends on the Company ' s common stock, e.g. for every dollar of declared dividend on the Company ' s common stock, Class B will be entitled to $0.03. Class B Common Stock will continue to trade under the Company ' s current trading symbol CBIS.OB.
Series A Preferred Stock
Each shares of Series A Preferred Stock is entitled to 1,000 votes per share on all matters to be voted on by the holders of the Company ' s common stock and is not convertible into any shares of the Company's common stock. With respect to rights on liquidation, dissolution or winding up, shares of Series A Preferred Stock rank on a parity with the Company's common stock.
Share Dividend
Upon the effectiveness of the Company ' s proposed corporate actions, the Company will issue a dividend to holders of our current common stock so they received 1 share of the new Class A common stock for each 10 shares of the former Class B common stock that they previously owned as of the record date. These shares will be mailed to the shareholders directly from our transfer agent without any action require on the part of our shareholders.
Warrants
Upon the effectiveness of the Company ' s proposed corporate actions, the Company will issue one non-transferable share purchase warrant for each 10 shares of the former Class B common stock that shareholders previously owned as of the record date, December 31, 2010. Each whole share purchase warrant will be exercisable into one share of Class A common stock at a price of $1.00 per share. The share purchase warrants expire 90 days from the date Class A common stock commences trading under its own unique symbol.

I am sitting on 100K shares and am excited about where CBIS is heading. Today's press release is optimistic and a clever move. Can't wait for the dividend news. 2011 will be a great year
I was the person who introduced Dr Bob to Jacqui while he was in Australia lol. By the way,it was pure extract that treated her cancer, not Rick Simpson's oil. Jacqui is also a good friend of mine and we were in touch only today. There is some very exciting things happening.
Guys, you really need to read this article from FaceBook. It deals with the use of a cannabis extract, not unlike what CBIS will be producing, to treat and KILL skin cancer.
Here is the link. I think you will be able to view it. http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1414312703&ref=name#!/note.php?note_id=489304328655&id=1414312703
It is important information like this that will see Cannabis Science surge ahead in the market of medicines to treat skin cancer, should it develop an extract that is similar. Keep your fingers crossed as CBIS is ready to rock and roll, so have yer dancin' shoes ready!

Try and come to Australia and celebrate with us at MardiGrass, the biggest cannabis and law reform festival in the southern hemisphere
Yes mate, that is me :)
I don't know. I am in Australia and it is not airing here. Good things are about to happen with CBIS
Danny Danko is a friend of mine and is a terrific guy!
Hopefully it will also show in Australia. By the way, I went and picked up another 50,000 shares today.
I hope this will bump the price
GW Pharmaceuticals’ profits soar on cannabis-based drug
Last updated: Wed 24th November, 2010 | Time: 08:23am
Wiltshire-based drug company GW Pharmaceuticals' profits have risen sharply following the successful launch of its cannabis-based drug Sativex in the UK.
GW Pharmaceuticals, which is based in Salisbury, increased pre-tax profits to £4.6m, almost a four-fold increase on last year (£1.2m).
Sativex is an under the tongue spray for the treatment of spasticity for sufferers to Multiple Sclerosis (MS). GW Pharmaceuticals is also trialing the medicine to treat cancer pain.
It is the first ever cannabis-derived medicine to receive full regulatory approval in the UK, Canada and New Zealand. The drug is set to launched for MS sufferers in Spain in early 2011,
The company’s turnover increased 27 per cent to £30.7m, including Sativex sales up 64 per cent to £2.8m.
GW Pharmaceuticals chairman Dr Geoffrey Guy said: "This has been a landmark year for GW. We have reported a strong rise in revenues and profits, gained our first major approvals in Europe for Sativex, and advanced this innovative medicine into late stage development for the US market.
"At the same time we have enhanced our longer term prospects through the extension of our research collaboration with Otsuka and generation of exciting data in our earlier stage pipeline.
“We are very pleased with the UK launch of Sativex, which marks the beginning of the evolution of GW from a late stage development company to a commercial biopharmaceutical business, and we look forward to commercialising this product across many regions of the world as further approvals are obtained.
“With an approved lead product, exciting cannabinoid pipeline, strong partnerships, and a healthy financial position, we believe we are well positioned for growth and are excited about the company's prospects for the future."

Tony Bower, better known as Mullaway Man, here in Australia makes a tincture of cannabis using an extract that DOES NOT get you high, from a specific strain called Clever Man, . I actually am currently using this cannabis tincture myself, to great benefit. It is a bloody terrific medicine.

Making medical cannabis
Andy Parks | 14th January 2010
It's hardly groundbreaking news that you can get cannabis in Nimbin, but Tony Bower distributes medicinal cannabis to people with chronic health problems.
Tony Bower is distributing a cannabis tincture to people with chronic pain from the back of his van in a Nimbin car park.
It’s hardly groundbreaking news that you can get cannabis in Nimbin, but in a non-descript white van in a Nimbin car park you will find Tony Bower distributing medicinal cannabis to people with chronic health problems.
Tony has developed a way of extracting the psychoactive substance THC from the plant and putting it into tinctures that can be taken orally. From his van in Nimbin he is giving it away to people he thinks it will help, as long as they show him a doctor’s certificate confirming their condition.
Cannabis has been shown to alleviate the symptoms of pain and nausea for people suffering from HIV and cancer-related wasting, as well as neurological disorders such as multiple sclerosis and motor neurone disease, and a range of other conditions.
In Los Angeles there are now more medical cannabis outlets than there are McDonald’s restaurants and since a change in policy by the Obama administration not to use federal laws to override states where medical use of cannabis has been made legal, it is expected that the number of US states allowing its use will jump from 14 to 26 this year.
In Australia the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), the regulatory agency for medical drugs in Australia, allows for the importation of some synthetic cannaboids. Last year they approved a new product called Sativex, a mouth spray from the UK, the first time a cannaboid made from botanical material has been approved. But if you want to get any of these drugs you can’t just get a script and walk into the chemist; your doctor has to get a special authority by writing to the Federal Department of Health.
For the past 18 months Tony has been trying to have his product tested and approved by the relevant government authorities, but despite jumping through all of the legal and bureaucratic hoops that have been placed before him, he has been frustrated every step of the way.
“I tried to get it tested through a university but they called me up and said, ‘we’ve got pressure from up high and we can’t involve ourselves’... Every time I try to get a test done the government stops it,” he said. “I’m not going to sit back and be treated like a criminal when these other people (drug companies) are allowed to bring it in. I’ve done all the stuff they asked me to do – let me get it tested!”
Tony’s legal adviser Debra Sands is planning to take the matter before the Supreme Court later this year.
“NSW Health is stalling Tony in having his product analysed and blocking his right to make a local medicine that (we believe) is better than Sativex. That’s what this is about,” she said. “He has the electric fencing (for growing the plants) and scientists willing to work with him. He has complied with every request from NSW Health.
“In NSW (medical cannabis) trials there was a strong recommendation for non-smokeable products. This is a local medicine that could be available... but the NSW Government don’t care about this issue and are denying people their health rights. This is a genuine attempt to get to people who cannot grow their own and have a non-smokeable product available to them. There are so many people on other (pain relieving) medications that have disastrous side effects... A lot of people who use cannabis can reduce their prescription medication and even go off them entirely in some cases. The Commonwealth say their hands are tied until NSW Health let him have his tincture analysed, so there is no other appeal process other than to go to the Supreme Court.”
Under Section 23 (4) of the Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act there is a provision for the Director-General of Health to issue an authority to cultivate high-THC cannabis when satisfied that such activity is “for the purpose of scientific research, analysis, instruction or study” and also to manufacture, supply and possess prohibited plants or drugs.
Tony Bower believes his application to get a licence to cultivate is being held up for political reasons.
But according to a spokesperson for NSW Health, Mr Bower has failed to supply information needed to assess his proposed research.
“Until such time as the requested additional information has been received, no further consideration can be given to his application to assess it in accordance with the statutory criteria,” the spokesperson said.
NSW Health would not be drawn on whether there was a lack of political will in getting non-smokeable cannabis products on the market, saying only that it was a matter for the TGA.
Tony Bower has been a cannabis grower and smoker for most of his adult life. About 30 years ago he had a motorbike accident that left him with broken bones in both arms and legs, a shoulder and knee smashed and half his face torn off.
“I was on every kind of drug you could think of – anything that could help me at the time. I haven’t been on anything now for years, only the tincture, and I still smoke.”
He said cannabis was the most effective form of pain relief for him and he got a letter from a doctor recommending that he use it. That letter was presented to a court and effectively allows him to grow marijuana for his own personal use.
For the past decade or so he has also been involved with supplying ‘compassion clubs’ (groups of people who will distribute cannabis to people who need it for medical reasons) all over Australia.
For years Tony has been experimenting with different ways of growing the plant and has become something of a backyard scientist.
“I knew a lot about the plant because I’ve always grown it and been good at what I did... I started working on getting consistent doses for cookies. I just experimented,” he said. “Different plants give you different effects... I’ve worked out how to turn certain things on or off in the growing.”
It was through his experimenting that he worked out his process of extracting the THC and putting it into either oil-based or alcohol-based tinctures, and he has been sending these all over the country to the compassion clubs.
“We got such good responses back from people. They didn’t want the cookies anymore, they wanted the tincture because it was better and easier. A lot of old people, when they have a cookie they get the giggles and they don’t necessarily like that,” he said.
But about 15 months ago he had a knock on the door from the Federal Police who had intercepted one of the parcels he was sending through the post.
“We had talks with them and they basically didn’t want anything to do with it and told me to get it in a legal framework. That’s when I started following all the steps the government told me to.
“If you give something to somebody who is sick and it helps them, then they tell somebody else and they tell somebody else; well you can’t stop giving it to these people. It’s just got to a stage where I had to grow a massive amount of plants to make a massive amount of medicine to give out to people that the government should be helping. When I explained all that to them they said, ‘put it in a legal framework’ – register it with the TGA, register with IP Australia (the government body that deals with intellectual property rights)... I filled in all the applications, sent applications to Federal Health and NSW Health, but I just keep getting these letters fobbing me off.”
Tony has applied to have a high-THC breed called ‘Clever Man’ registered with IP Australia and has applied for a drug manufacturer’s license from the TGA. He needs to be able to show the TGA the quality and safety of what he is producing and show IP Australia that the plant is distinctive, uniform and stable. But before he can do that he needs NSW Health approval for a licence to cultivate it so he can supply it to a lab for analysis.
“Tony has been sending applications to NSW Health for over 12 months and each time we have gathered more support and more information,” Debra Sands said. “The last submission was over 100 pages. Just before Christmas he got a standard letter saying it would have to go to the Minister for Primary Industries. The State and Commonwealth have been mucking around all last year over this.
“What Tony has done is quite amazing... The question is why is Tony getting blocked when pharmaceutical companies who make millions of dollars are getting their products onto the market and some of them have huge side effects.”
Tony has registered a company called Mullaway’s Medical Cannabis and ultimately he wants to set up a manufacturing and distribution centre so his product can be available to people who need it all over the world. But in the meantime he continues to provide his medicine free of charge from the back of a van in a Nimbin car park.
In the past month or so he said he has seen hundreds of people, although he said most of them didn’t have certificates from a doctor.
“I explain to them what I’ve got and I explain the benefits, but they have to come back with a letter,” he said.
Tony and his wife Julie live in the Kempsey area but will continue to drive up to Nimbin every weekend. On the day The Echo visited him a couple whose daughter was dying with bowel cancer had been to see him. He has also seen AIDS patients, people with severe physical injuries and somebody with multiple sclerosis.
“My aim in Nimbin is to get the cannabis extraction out to people who need it and to pressure the government and the police to do something about me,” he said.
I saw some extract that Dr Bob Melamede had when he was here in Australia. In fact, I tried it several times! Seriously. The extract was given to Dr Bob by a colleague who had made it under a new patent for a closed cycle, super critical fluid extraction, using pure butane.
Also, while Dr Bob and I visited with Mullaway Man (an indigenous healer) and tried some of his extract. Both were excellent I must say.
The extract that CBIS makes will no doubt be very high in CBD as well as THC. A 1:1 ratio being ideal. They have the strains to achieve this.
Rx Medical Marijuana in Israel
Cannabis (Marijuana) has been legal in Israel since 1999. It was originally intended for terminal cancer and AIDS patients, but today it is used to treat a wide variety of ailments and illness, including Parkinson’s, Tourette Syndrome, Multiple Sclerosis, chronic pain and shell shock (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder - PTSD).
The medical establishment in Israel is increasingly recognizing Cannabis’ effectiveness in treating illness. Until 2005, there were only 10 patients who received cannabis from the Israel Ministry of Health. Now the number is well over 3000 patients.
Unfortunately, as of June 2010, the patient-license-holders of medical marijuana within the Israel Medical Marijuana system no longer receive FREE each month their monthly supply of Medicinal Grade Medical Marijuana (Cannabis)...not that what was being distributed was exactly of "medical quality" from the three (ONLY) licensed national growers. For the first 8 months of my license this last year, I did not pay even one dollar or one shekel (but then again, from the 3rd through 6th month there were severe shortages where no patient received his full monthly amount, and what was supplied was sticks and stems and seeds and wet marijuana which was heavier on the day of receipt, and less weight a few days later) - unlike other chemical medications prescribed, Medical Marijuana was supplied absolutely free to all patient-recipients. What was an excellent Government Program, has now ended.
Patients must now pay for medical marijuana in Israel, which for sick patients undergoing medical treatment or physical therapy, it is not easy to make a living. Currently one must pay 360 shekels per month for the marijuana, and an additional 180 shekels per month for home-delivery if one cannot travel to one of two (ONLY) distribution centers. An additional 118 shekels "registration fee" is required by all 3 growers as an additional (needless) expense. Being that the average family (2-person) income in Israel is only 7,000 shekels, to pay 540 shekels per month is a significant portion of one's income. If one decides to travel to pick up the marijuana personally, then let's not forget travel expenses + lost wages that day.
Let's not forget the shortages that occur on a regular basis because of the increase in demand from licensed patients, yet the Police won't allow any new growing licenses to be issued. This is simply cruel to not supply enough, to supply low-quality, to refuse patients to grow for themselves, and then force patients to buy from only these three licensed national growers.
At the Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital’s Bone Marrow Transplantation department, patients including children and babies are treated using drops of oil derived from Cannabis. “It has no side effects and is largely effective in treating patients,” said department chief, Professor Reuven Or. “I would say it is effective in 80 percent of patients, which is a lot.”
Professor Or continued, “It stimulates the appetite and minimizes nausea and vomiting, which is of great importance in Oncology. It also has anti-inflammatory properties, which helps in cases of infection or inflammation caused by radiation. Along with this, Cannabis eases the coping process for patients – it improves their morale and lowers depression, and these are important parameters for patients battling disease.”
According to Dr. Yehuda Baruch, the doctor who approves all applications for medical marijuana, "the potential market in Israel reaching tens of thousands of medicinal Cannabis users, with each one paying NIS 5 or 10 per gram of the drug, or NIS 5,000 to NIS 10,000 per person per year."
Though this is legitimate since no business can operate without a profit, it is also legitimate that we sick patients shouldn't be forced to buy crap weed when we can grow medicinal-quality marijuana ourselves for much less.
We at IRXMJ.ORG are a charity, and seek to be entirely donor-funded so that sick patients do not need to pay from their own pockets - ever - they have enough things to worry about, enough other expenses for their medical treatment, physiotherapy, + other prescription medications they are taking (in addition to life expenses such as rent, bills, food, children, etc.), and we feel this act of kindness of giving medical marijuana to them for free will help them to increase morale and recover from their ailments, GOD-willing, asap.
(Some info taken from the following web sites):
http://blog.mpp.org/medical-marijuana/israel-to-have-1200-medical-marijuana-patients-by-september/06222009/
Please note: Tikun Olam in the following article started to take 8 shekels per gram (100 grams x 8 = 800 shekels = approx. 200 USD per month directly from patients! - and then the Ministry of Health regulated that they could only take 360 + 180 + 118 shekels - so much for their insisting that patients never pay!)

Doing great mate. By the way, Dr Bob is coming to Australia next year, at the end of April. He will be speaking at the Law reform rally during MardiGrass 2011. Will be a blast seeing him again.
Similar type of company to CBIS and they market a cannabis based medicine called sativex.
I agree. The main thing to remember is that CBIS is ALL about the medicinal application of cannabis and its distribution through a cannabis specific pharmaceutical company. While the issue of full legalization may get the blood pumping, at the end of the day what is important is the clinical application of the medicine produced by CBIS. If you have faith in cannabis as a medicine, and it is not hard to considering there is in excess of 7000 peer reviewed scientific studies supporting this, then one must expect that it will be consumer demand that will drive this company.
Once patients find out that they no longer need to take opiate based, addictive medicines, for instance, the penny will begin to drop.
The fact of the matter is that cannabis has been used as a medicine for thousands of years and it has been carried through time by civilizations because of the FACT that it does work. Go figure.
Keep the faith guys. I am heading out to acquire more CBIS shares.
Times are changing.
Medical Marijuana Likely Coming Soon to Israeli Pharmacies
by Phillip Smith, November 08, 2010, 02:55am
The Israeli Health Ministry committee on medical marijuana recommended last Wednesday that marijuana be added the list of medicinal drugs. That means it should be available in pharmacies in Israel within six months, provided that the recommendation is accepted by the ministry.
The news was reported Sunday by the International Association for Cannabis as Medicine, which in turn cited a Thursday newsletter from the Israeli embassy in Germany. (That letter, in German, is available at this Israeli diplomatic service web page. Click on the link for November 4.)
Medical marijuana committee head and, until recently, the sole authorized medical marijuana prescriber in Israel, Dr. Yehuda Baruch, made the recommendation. The next step is to form an inter-ministerial committee to resolve open questions.
Baruch said medical marijuana is helpful for multiple sclerosis, patients undergoing chemotherapy for cancer, and for the relief of chronic pain.
The announcement is just the latest step in medical marijuana's march to acceptance in Israel. Up until September, only Dr. Baruch had been authorized to prescribe medical marijuana. But the health ministry announced that month that five more doctors will be allowed to prescribe.
The number of Israelis who have been prescribed marijuana was two in 2000, 10 in 2005, 700 in the middle of last year, and may be as high as 2,000 now. A Health Ministry official estimated that, with the lessening of the prescribing bottleneck, the number could increase to 5,000 by year's end and tens of thousands in the future.

I am in Australia as some may know. I just want to say after watching the bickering after the Prop 19 defeat, that now is the time to show solidarity in support of CBIS. CBIS success was NEVER reliant on the success of prop 19, although it did generate some heated activity of the stock.
I reckon if we all look to the future and send out positive vibes through our postings here, that those vibes WILL be picked up by CBIS as we move forward to FDA trials and eventual acceptance of the medicine.
I see CBIS doing ALL the right things in the development of a new company. They have the right people and they have the right genetics. And remember folks, that the quality of the medicine is only as good as the plants used to produce it, and CBIS does have the right plant genetics (high CBD plants).
Thanks Pump! I just sent them an email asking if they would like some premium Aussie genetics to give them a more global choice of medicinal cannabis strains.
By the way, good luck tomorrow on the prop 19 vote. We here in Australia wish you all the best. CBIS should really step on the pedal from here on, both with the dividend announcement AND the Prop 19 issue.
You said "I have never smoked pot, but I firmly believe legalization of marijuana is a very intelligible decision in terms of reducing crime and generating revenue."
I say "Damn mate, this is the open minded attitude I love to hear from a non-cannabis user. Kudos to your first post and your well considered honesty. Respect from Australia!
Nice post mate! I share your confidence and your enthusiasm. Too cool to be a part in this process of change. I am in Australia and see things from a more global position, and it is exciting to see the tsunami of change overwhelm us.

See this just posted by Dr Bob - The Absurdity Cannabis Prohibition
The video points out the absurdity of prohibition that creates a mechanism to fund terrorists
Thanks mate. I will check into that.
Yup mate, Monday is going to be very busy in reckon. I got an email from Dr Bob last night and am really excited by what lays ahead. Those in this for the long term are the true believers!
How cool is it being a part of that history in the making!! I am savouring every moment of this journey.
It will be the development of high CBD:THC ratios that will be the most significant aspect, rather than just high THC strains. Keep in mind that most if not all commercially available strains on the market these days have less that 1%CBD. There is a new strain out of Spain called "Cannatonic" that has a 1:1 CBD:THC ratio. Mr Nice Seed Co is using this high CBD strain to develop a new med strain called "The remedy"
I do know that the strain that CBIS has developed has in excess of 8% CBD which is terrific. If you know anything at all about breeding cannabis, you would appreciate how good this CBIS strain must be.
