ahh you see we can laugh at ourselves.!!!!
peace love and understanding...
if I learn nothing then I am no better off the they who have not tried
interesting... ditto... Father told me work hard and it will pay off. Yaaa got the calouses to prove it... uncle...ran books, bet the ponies, big holdem player. whole other side of the family I dont talk to. sall gamblers and tied to the big italian M ....shhhhh don tell.
My big play...learn stocks...seemed like a good thing about 4 months ago. then look what happened. the darn thing fell apart...but wait. this actually is a blessing. Of all the d sh#$% I have been through. the ups and downs. oh yeah did I mention I was homeless once and another time lived in a van...Taught me a lot about life. This what we have now can be the biggest blessing of a lifetime. If/when the market recovers our investments can return more money than our wildest dreams. Not just wamu. I learned the egg and basket thing... in the 80's many people lost a lot and may people became very wealthy in the aftermath. so we can do the same here in this market. call me cautiously optimistic. but I challenge anyone to try being homeless. Many poeple now are faced with it. You are not the same after. Those little things we take for granted have new meaning. Like a hot shower! Been there and I agree this is a gamble I am willing to take. I dont have much to lose but i do have a lot to learn. I am green on 3 of 4 wamus but I will hold it till the bitter end.
peace to all.
:) ... it is all good if we can still laugh at ourselves at the end of the day... I would rather do this than bet on slot machines. I cant play poker to save my life
ummm...are you asking me or DI to post facts? cause I dont have any facts about wamu. good or bad. Aside from simple arithmatic and seeing an opportunity. I am a neutral in this too. I just felt the need to defend the message I read in DI's post. "we should watch and be careful". I didnt need facts to gleen that. Gloom and doom. yes well there is a lot of that going around. This is imo...what happened to wmau amounts to nothing short of a political rape of corperate america. The gov back in the 70's deemed the bell system a monopoly and for them to split into several entities. in my eyes, the reverse is occuring here. too many financial institutions and only one will emerge. If you can see a replay of the big 3 auto co's lobby on cspan or have seen it. rep corker made a bold statement to them. basically he said the Us only needs one auto munufacturer and was wondering which one of the it should be.
To be honest...I appreciate everyones comments and dont always need facts to understand someones faith. Facts for me are not always the Truth.
"it is not what you know but what you can prove."
I would love nothing more that to see all of win here.
Peace
I am not wishing to argue about any of this...I am holding wamu stocks like everyone else and take the same risk. What I do support is what I said in the last post.
The possibility of losing everything we invested here is REAL. Fact: 1 in 100 BK companies make it out and Slowly recover. wamu could very well be one. Fact: if the Gov wants wamu to go away IT WILL.
hope is a wonderful thing; but supported with blind faith, it trips over the rock. If someone is able to shake your confidence then maybe you should question the faith you put into this.
I for one read the posts and ask myself "is this a possibility?"
No ever thought the Bell System, would be spilt up in the 70's ...no one thought 911 would take place; no one believed when the terrorists said it would...
sometimes we just need to keep our eyes watching and ears listening and mind open.
Peace to all... I am just trying to learn about trading stocks and can use all the help I can get...
well put ID...dont like to repeat myself...aire on the side of caution.
thanks DI: I do not pay for an account so I need to reply in obscure places. Thanks for the tip. I dont have a lot of money to play with but Yesterday I put only 100.00 on Idar. been wathching it for about 6 weeks. waiting for it hit bottom. it hit .02 finally and was up 300% yeaterday. anyway. I admittedly know nothing of stocks. math yes. read yes. it is good to find rationality in this caotic mess.
knowledge may be golden but wisdom is the light
peace
Indian: I have been reading your posts. right or wrong? becomes irrelevent. there is wisdom in your words. there is something to be learned by what you say. many people seem to bash you for what appears to be negative statements. however if they would aire on the side of caution, they might understand what you have said. I am on these boards to try to learn something. I is hard when most people here seem to be front loading stocks and or just pumping them. either way I can call it for what it is Rape. I would think the stock would stay low because of this and other reason too. I just want to learn to make some money out of all of this.
well I would take the 30G and dump it into H and K and be happy
or I could only use 20 and wait for citi to go belly up and use the other 10g to buy citi at .01 and sell when it hits .10 the next week. still be happy....see below
As stock plummets, Citi on the brink
Government help may be only option as market cap falls $160 billion in a year
By Sam Mamudi, MarketWatch
Last Update: 11/21/2008 1:52:00 PM
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- This time last year, Citigroup Inc. was valued at about
$180 billion. As of Friday morning, its market capitalization stood at $20
billion -- and its once-proud share price had shriveled to $3.75, a 16-year low.
Citigroup's share price has dropped more than 60% this week, and analysts are
starting to wonder just what the future holds for the financial-services company
(C), a Dow Jones Industrial Average component.
There are several options facing Citigroup as it tries to stem the decline.
It could sell some of its business units or even sell itself whole -- both are
under consideration, according a Wall Street Journal report -- or it could try to
buy itself time and gain market confidence by firing Vikram Pandit as chief
executive.
100 @ $500 each...good until canceled/ order accepted.. I am in holding pattern :)
does this have any effect on the price per share. If you lock them into a sell but you know the sell is some astonomical number...? as in wampq 100 share @ $1000.00 each. imo logic suggests this locks shares from being used by the broker as you stated = less on the market??? = would this create false but greater value driving the share price up?
just wondering
I think we should also remember that only 250 of 720B was given so far. The treasury still is sitting on the rest. this is why the big 3 have been lobbying for more money. they were given 25B and want 25B more.
On another note here...whats going on here...? the stock falls and everyone starts getting scared. did we really expect this to continue to rise? We all know this is a big gamble and the risk is loss. Ok so I made some money on wamuq in the beggining and took all of it and put it on preferreds. I hope and pray I will do well. But the fact is: this is a company that can be wiped out.
Like, Tenn. Rep Corker asked the big 3 at the hearing a couple of days ago. You want 25B more. I want to know which of the 3 of you should survive: since we may not need 3 auto munufacturers in the US.
I ask you " do we really know, this same situation is not occuring with regard to the bank. Signs say yes. signs point directly to socialism or facism. All of our plays here may mean nothing in 2 years. fear of losing some money is nothing compared to freedoms we have been losing and will continue to lose. Think of the idea of central banking and the reprecussions.
hows this for manipulation....for kicks I tried to sell 50 shares and was rejected....just wanted to see if it would go through... MM rejected it... SOB they are messing with this big time
great reading.. The only reason I watch wamu is to see if I want to buy more.
hmmm. guess we really can only speculate to values right now.
But hey it is all good! peace
that was the equation I was trying to figure ... what would be the value of each for a conversion ie:
common = 10 P = 1000
or common .05 P = 10 this is too great of a number
but then waht about H and K
to follow this P = 100/1 H = 5/1 and then K = 2.5/1
it seem obvious to say that prefferds will have greater value but how much compared to commons to offer a respectable conversion
not here. I buy more every chance I get...holding everything till the bitter end....rather have my cake and eat it though...
ok... I agree... just speculating. However which stock would be 8-12 ...avg 10 if common then would not P return to face of 1000 and still convert at 1/100 and if P is 8-12 avg 10 what will common be? thus math does not lie. I am simply speculating and trying to figure how a conversion would work.
all is good...
Jerle...really cool...cant wait for the release...
Regards to to conversion is this...
current values : say you had 100 share of P @ 5.50= 550.00
convert to current common with a high of .05
550/ .05 = 11000...or apx 100/1. I would take an offer like that. long term this offer would be worth more, IF the common returned to even $10.00, than the face value of P. it would take longer to see the common return to a moderate value but it would. A return to 40.00 would far exceed the face value of P. Just a thought. P,K and H converting to common could a better ticket. my opinion,
jerle... great books btw... if the the prefered stocks were all converted to common do you know the conversion rate for them or is the last post for all. thsnks.
true...I do not deny that. This was submitted today as an update. ex 99 was updated. not sure what was updated. maybe the projections. it does look good and they are operational. I have even seen a few commercials for wamu.
I am in this for the long haul: holding all my shares and buying more when I can.
ok... this is from ...October 30, 2008...cool it is good news but old news...shows positive cash flow and positive projections. the order to keep doors and accounts open is the best part. what we need is an 8-K A. but I will take any good news..
MM's taking this for walk down eh? NITE bid 5.41 ask 5.80
also...because if it dips down I can buy more :)... so I watch all prefereds closely.
it is back ...lxes... strange
market depth says LXES is halted...
it is great reading these posts and so for me add any real insight seems fruitless at this point...except to state the obvious... I really think it is to everyones best interest that this BK be over as soon as possible... the more time that goes by, the more money is lost and also the more confidence is lost.
Bring it on!!!!! like a Brock Lesner crush and bring da gold home
just wait.... 8-k filed yesterday....
maybe so....but it sure is good to see this moving back up...
learn something every day! usually leading to a billion more questions! So then it is a waiting game for them also; to sell. And they would be accumulating shares as the price drops?
hey thanks.
I am holding shares in this. Not flipping or pumping. slightly concerned...yes. However, I do recall reading somewhere along the line that Titan had begun expanding into diamond mining in Africa. Please dis-regard if this turns out to be rumor, because I am not sure any longer where I had read it. As for Dubai; what a great place for headquarters, if that is what they did. Opinions mean nothing and mine is worth less!!!! I am here to learn, so could someone look into the question I asked earlier today and assist...Please
anybody here? I have a question I need answered... e trade market depth is showing something strange... vert ask .105 @ 10:07.18 ...I am sure I am not understanding something? but also it shows lamp.. previous day ask .51 any info into this to help me understand would be greatly appreciated... thanks all
Hey Dart... CGFI posted finding this morning...plus they are paying dividends to shareholders 30%
Testing at Gold King Mine Affirms Colorado Goldfields' Drilling Program
ALERT: Gold Discovery Breakthrough With State-of-the-Art NITON XRF Testing at
Gold King Mine Affirms Colorado Goldfields' Drilling Program
LAKEWOOD, CO, Nov 11, 2008 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) -- Colorado Goldfields Inc.
(CGFI) announces the results of NITON XRF analyses of select interval core
samples from the Company's Gold King Mine property. The results of the NITON XRF
analysis confirm that mineralization from Gold King B Vein contains gold grades
ranging from .28 - 3.39 oz/ton, and silver grades of 1.46 - 30.97 oz/ton.
As part of the 2008 drill program, the Company completed 3,459' (1,054m) of core
drilling in three drill holes. These particular diamond drill holes were
positioned to test for NE-SW trending veins continuing from the property's Gold
King-Davis vein system. As anticipated, these drill holes successfully
intercepted multiple parallel veins throughout the length of the drilling. While
several veins are interpreted as being continuous mineralized structures with
potential, the 'B' Vein Zone demonstrated significant mineralization with an
estimated true width of 12-13 feet and continuity.
"The 'B' Vein Zone was encountered in hole CG08-01 at a depth of 635 feet,
expressing two strong quartz sulfide veins that are approximately 30 feet apart.
Step-out holes to the northeast and to the southwest intercepted the 'B' Vein at
615 ft. and 680 ft., respectively. All three intercepts indicated that this is a
strong, well-mineralized, and continuous structure, and as we anticipated and now
demonstrated via the NITON XRF Analyzer, we have indeed established the presence
of gold and silver in the Gold King Mine Extension -- that's very exciting," said
Project Geologist Jonathan Moore.
While awaiting the completion of the entirety of assay results, being provided by
Skyline Laboratories in Tucson, Arizona, Company management requested XRF
analysis in order to obtain early indicative analyses of precious metal content.
Management chose the Thermo Scientific NITON(R) XL3t handheld Analyzer because of
its superior capabilities. While attending the testing at the Company's location
in Silverton, Colorado, Stephen Guyer, the Company's Chief Financial Officer,
declared, "We are most gratified to confirm there is gold in the Gold King
property."
"The use of handheld XRF units, such as the NITON XL3t Analyzer within the mining
industry has been demonstrated worldwide as a statistically reliable technology
for field geologists and other technical personnel to acquire accurate results,
instantly and efficiently. Personally observing the NITON XL3t Analyzer doing its
job was inspiring and will greatly accelerate our ability to create measureable
and confirmable results," said Guyer.
Results from the NITON XL3t Analyzer testing performed on the Gold King Mine
Extension mineralized segments of the 'B' Vein over a 2.4 ft. drill width are set
