MWL- I found this quote in the recent interview with Brad Ketch and wondered if you would mind explaining what it means exactly. Obviously us peasants are clueless.
" Raising the capital that we need to continue to develop out this product is our main challenge right now. "
Excel- excellent post. I find it amusing that this guy comes in here and acts like a bigshot but does absolutely nothing. Show Ketch the money MWL. You will then be a bigshot. Surely, with your credentials, you should be able to scrape up 10 to 15 million. What's a few million between friends? Make it happen or quit with the silly, vague posts. That's my take on the matter.
MWL- PR companies don't work for free. Would you care to elaborate on what you mean when you say: "...you have the all backing you shall need. "
spokeshave- In reading the disclaimer, the only thing I can come up with is that NVEI may possibly have given them $650 to archive the story. As far as I can tell, it's not a requirement. Here it is...
" Companies featured in the archives section of CEOCFOinterviews.com are required to purchase a minimum of one of our options: WebRights, Archiving and Reprints of their interview, the publishing of Press Releases, Corporate Financials and a featured Analyst interview. "
porscha- That's what I gather as well. My question is why would Gateway and Dell mention NVEI. OR...why would NVEI mention them??? I think it's simply a mistake.
Shazzam- Your NVEI rocket seems to be moving sideways. Do you think you could try to find one that moves more in the upward direction? Thanks. :)
Cobra- Thanks for your effort. I e-mailed ceocfo.com but have not yet received a response. :)
It looks like Gateway shows up as well. When I looked into it further, the web page says this..." ***** This company has been mentioned as a partner, client or competitor in our published interview." However, I do not see where Brad mentioned anything about Dell or Gateway.
I wonder why NVEI shows up next to DELL on your list iown.
Excellent news Score. Thanks for sharing. EOM
wheels- I think this showing is probably the best thing that could have happened for Ray and the movie. They will be benefitting a cause and will get free press in return. Looks like a win/win situation to me. A little hype never hurts. I for one greatly appreciate your efforts. Best, Elder.
excel- I think Brady was referring to pandaman's post. I was shocked to read his opinion as well. There was a time where I had the utmost respect for him but hearing that coming from him kind of threw me for a loop. I mean, there is some silly, imaginary stuff going on right now but I never thought he would want to supress other people's right to voice their opinions. Have a good one, Elder.
wheels- I agree completely. As far as I'm concerned, the promise was to turn a prototype over for testing by the end of the year. It takes time to translate millions of lines of code. No worries here.
immitt- It's been awhile and I have forgotten most of what he said. Once I get in touch with him this week I'll let you know. Like I said earlier, this prototype issue isn't something that alarms me. I'm just curious to learn what is going on.
I have to agree there deeba. He doesn't give you a snow job like we've had in the past. He was very honest with me when I spoke with him and I didn't come away with a "warm fuzzy feeling". I came away feeling more informed.
spoke- I t was my understanding that once the software logic was acceptable that it would only take about 20 minutes to download thatprogram onto the FPGA. Was that your understanding as well? Why would they NOT download it if it is so simple? I do agree with Fam when he says that there appears to be a demand to test being that the company doing the question is willing to take the prototype in this form. Downright eager even. Best, Elder.
Cobra- While I don't find this little tidbit of information to be alarming, I do find it to be rather disappointing. Not only do we have to wait for them to design and produce an ASIC, but we have to wait for them to finish the FPGA? Why am I not suprised? I never thought I'd have money parked for this long. Sheesh...
TFN- You said that the second paragraph is a mighty big dream. Please allow me to correct that. A dream is something you do sitting at your computer all day wishing you could strike it rich. What New Visual has is a goal. The difference??? NV is actually doing something to make it happen. Have a great day.
Exciting!! It looks like Mr. Willenberg has been quite busy!!
TFN- I have the same opinion. If the companies evaluating this technology believe it will increase the bottom line significantly, I see no reason why they wouldn't help fund the production of the ASIC. I also see no reason why they wouldn't take an equity position as well. It's common practice in fact.
MWL- My comments weren't necessarily directed at statements made in that post. Have a good one.
MWL- If you're waiting for New Visual to announce third party verification, or, if you're waiting to find out who we're working with then you may as well hold your horses for awhile longer. They won't be making any such announcements until they are required to do so by the SEC. It doesn't become a requirement until they have signed a contract of some sorts. Contracts cost money to draw up so I suspect NV is doing business on an NDA and a handshake at this point. I forget...what is it that you're waiting for? Oh yeah...third party verification. Good luck.
PS- There is obviously something I am missing here so please tell me...why is that you are waiting to find out who we're doing business with when you obviously are already aware that "Bill" is involved? It must be really nice to be privvy to such information. I would like to give you a word of caution though if you don't mind. Try to be a little bit more realistic in what you say because there may be those who will think you are buying ahead of news and selling on the price increases. Have a good one.
excel- Did you see a substantial increase after the numbers were released?
Excel- This looks like a good question for Brad. I tried calling today but Anthony is the only one there. Maybe next week.
It looks like it could take four to eight months to design the ASIC and get it ready for production. Once that process is complete, it will take a maximum of four more months to produce the ASIC in mass quanities. However, they have spoken with an overseas fab company that can do it in a much shorter period of time. Worst case scenario is we have mass production finishing up in December '03. Looks like we have more waiting to go but that isn't bad as we now know we have a product. I wonder if, much like the last phase, more money would help speed this stage of the process up?
The next step...
Can you speculate on the amount of time needed to evaluate the NVC technology by the first companies receiving our prototype?
Once a target customer receives our prototype, we will work to further refine the technology so that our high-volume ASIC meets its needs for speed and quality, and ours for profitability. This process takes as few as four months and as many as eight months. During this period, we are discussing the technology, the business relationship, demand forecasts, the needs of the telcos and the end users, and commercial terms like pricing and guarantees for our first series of products.

After the finial design of chip is decided on how long will it take for a chip manufacturer take to start producing it?
Once we place an order with a semiconductor fabricator, we would expect to receive the finished chips in a maximum of four months, although we have been encouraged by discussions with a number of fabs overseas that are capable of turning around an order in a much shorter period of time.

jar- 26 guage wire is used mainly for short residential runs. Back in the day, I ran a LOT of 24 AWG for longer distances to help make up for the resistance that is inherent in long runs. I suspect the large buildings/businesses (which will be our first customers) may use quite a bit of the 24 AWG. They likely use the 26 to make the short drops at the end of the run. Best, Elder.
MWL- What changed all of a sudden? Just curious. Best, Elder.
PS- I look forward to any buying by your fund.
And what reason is that dutch?
EDIT: Nevermind. I see you were likely referring to miler selling. LOL
What if...what if...what if...??? What if they do come through? Will you still hold? If so, why? By the way, we're not zealots. We found a company we believe in and bought stock. Imagine that. We actually invested in a company that we like. What is this world coming to? Have a great day.
WTM- I disagree with your points completely. I do not feel mislead at all. The company officers used their money to buy stock and that's that. We'll just have to agree to disagree. I try not to get bogged down in details when it's not necessary. Have a good one, Elder.
WTM- It's very simple really. You're a sharp guy so this explanation will likely seem elementary but I just can't help myself.
1. The company owed money to officers/directors for services performed.
2. They paid them. (The officers/directors can now choose what they would like to do with the money because they own it.)
3. They CHOSE to reinvest the money back into the company.
I don't understand the difference between getting paid in stock in lieu of salaries and the scenario I just laid out. The end result is the same. They would rather have stock. You have absolutely NO basis for claiming you were mislead or that the PR was false. Could the PR have been more forthcoming? You bet. However, will you admit that despite the apparent lack of full disclosure of the details the end result is exactly the same? It was a paperwork shuffle and nothing more.
I don't know about you, but if I found out they were given the option to take cash or stock and they chose cash, I'd be a little worried, particularly being that we're so close. Best, Elder.
Brady- I had forgotten about the intensive training you were undergoing for the match with the Circus Piggy at the shareholders meeting. I'll look forward to seeing a new and improved Brady. BTW, please help excel out with those calculations. I think he may be having a bit of trouble.
Brady....I can see eager. I can even see mean. But lean??? Remember, we did meet in Dallas. Best, Elder.
wheels- the prototype has been built for awhile now. In order for them to give us numbers they have to have a program/logic to dump into the fpga which is in the prototype. That has been the holdup. The physical prototype is nothing major. Keep in mind though that as I say this I reserve the right to be wrong and I'm sure someone will correct me if I am. Best, Elder.
miler- could it be that they are setting up the big pr? Once they release the big news people will look back at previous pr's to see what's going on. Once they see insiders have been buying don't you think they are more likely to let loose of some funds to make a purchase? If these insider buys were buried in filings how many people would actually see it? Just something to think about. Best, Elder.
MWL- In your opinion, will the numbers NV states themselves be enough to trigger the buying or do you think they will want to wait for third party testing in the form of carrier trials with the telco?
Colt- I have to admit that I didn't put the ad in the paper like I should have. The dog needed some costly medical attention and I figured that I may as well keep him if I'm going to shell out the money. I found him far from my hometown (which is where I would have placed the ad) and the likliehood of someone claiming him were slim. That's how I've rationalized it anyway. Have a good one. Best, Elder.
I'll have to agree on all points porscha. I'll also add that if we didn't have the SOLID timeline, this could have gotten real ugly in a hurry. I think Brad did the right thing by reinforcing the timeline. That's all we have to go on at this point. No worries here.
