Yes acanuck, I am with you , got a nice “Main Street” cab in my glass.. Half full cheers
As bad as it sounds, Q2 is a past, ask yourself: is Q3 will be as bad or better? I do not particularly like gray manipulation, but they did what needed to be done. I agree with Pots and Mjk… also we need to read between the lines as BP mention. This is a Panama… big investors put their money in, I think they are privy to information we don’t know. The word ‘resilience “come to mind… I can’t wait for Q3 and will buy more shares on a weakness.
First of all where are the numbers, I have not see any thing yet.
That quarter was effected by extreme rainy season, equipment break-down, lightning, so what you guys expect? They finally got good numbers in September. Next Q should be much better.
Mjk,Salvo is answering to my message, read my previous post
Correction, that was Kingsdale Investment Serv. They e-mail me PTQ proxy without control number , yak
I gave up ... have a good weekend everyone.
Someone from PTQ call me over the phone to get my e-mail address so they can send me a PP voting form. Did anyone else got a phone call or mail ?
Thanks Mjk, I can’t say better.. It’s like “asking a patient to swallow the food after placing it in his mouth and even chew it for him “.
PTQ is a trampoline for PDI.
I don't know why people getting so worry, I predicted 10% pullback on profit taking - it is a healthy situation , our SP is forming bottom support at $ 1.06 - it is all good,
Ari Kiev sounds very familiar on personal level .. hmm
Thanks, I understand that Martinelli and Fifer are friends, so good things should happen, PDI and Canal upgrade is news to me. I did not know they want to be involve - all good.
Thanks izzit, do you think PDI would be able to handle both areas ?
Mjk, don't count me out - I am a big PDI supporter. An other question ; you article talks about fourteen nations willing to explore Cobre... I thought Immelt/PTQ has the only rights to the area?
Thanks Mjk for update, I just want to share my thoughts about yesterday action.
Ok, occasional fluctuation in commodity price will happen. But how it going to effect us over all scheme of things? Our mine is fine even if POG is $1200 or less. We are up 100% just in a few weeks, of cause profit taking will happen. I mention before , it is a great time to be invested in commodities, we discussed printing press, inflation, growth of population = lack of resources. Today I'd like to add a global concern.
Middle East : even though Iran does not have a common border with Israel, it managed to project his power through Lebanon-Hezbollah which become heavily armed and ready for war. Then we have Syria - an other Iran's ally ready to pull a trigger. Basically it is a power keg ready to explode any time - and we all know what happens to Gold!
So, we are in a right place in a right time, no worry here LT.
P.S. Last time I check pipes in my basement- they made of some new type of PVC - copper is to expensive (contractor told me ). Well, I got my hands in two cookie jars, - good.
In 3 years you will be selling for $ 5, which is fine with me - 4 bagger+
Good call on Q2 Ricnat, but I have to agree with pots also. Big investors know more then just a quarterly results , they are investing in a future, they surely aware of potential this mine gives them . There are a few good mine companies which can double in a few years, but PTQ is a 4-bagger for sure even from this level. In4$ brings a good point about short covering which can happen on 3-rd Friday and push our stock even higher. But eventually traders will have to take some profits, we can not go straight line every day, so I expect a pullback 10 - 15% sometime this month.
I am planning to use my bonus to buy more when it happens.
Ha-ha-ha, Jal. But I am not placing stop-lost either. Knowing those guys - they can steal your shares, I am keeping my for a long haul.
I hate to say it , but I TOLD YOU SO " Houston " yesterday ! And again TA does not matter unless you want to trade this stock on daily basis.
On a side note:
Jal, PTQ does not need to be pray for, this baby is hot-hot,,, what you can ask God for - to be bless with a healthy long life while enjoying profits from PTQ/Pdi ;o)
"An't no stopping us now "
it is a good reminder:
"China is already the world’s top gold producer, but has remained somewhat muted in the global gold market. Now, with the expansion of the Chinese gold market (China approved its first gold mutual fund on Nov. 29), the increasing investment demand from the Chinese government and/or individual investors will become a major force influencing the world's gold market.
Chinese recently announced that they control over 33.89 million ounces of gold for monetary purposes. That’s an increase of 75% in Chinese gold holdings over the past six years.
This kiloton of Chinese gold makes the Middle Kingdom the world’s sixth largest holder of the yellow metal. The U.S. — courtesy of President Roosevelt’s gold confiscation in 1933 – tops this list of the world’s largest gold holders, followed by Germany, the IMF, France and Italy.
"
And here’s what REALLY matters. China is monetizing its gold!...
I agree , it is an exciting time to be invested with a successful young gold mining company. Only 2% of all start-up ever make it to a full production. We are sitting on a top of pyramid which is going to get bigger as time goes by. Just as mjk says - Q2 DOES NOT MATTER,even TA does not matter, because that is not what is going to drive this stock going forward, but a steady future production of 1000 oz/month- will, Increasing production to 1500 oz/month - will, accumulation by the funds and introduction to an investment community - will. Yes, if someone wants to trade this stock then they have to worry about Q2 or $1.22 resistance or $1.00 support, - I don't.
Just like BP and some of you I look in a near future (2-3 years) and I see : gold will be never again below $1000 thanks to a dollar devaluation, China and India increasing middle class , world banking system shifting away from a dollar back to a gold standard.
What makes this story even better, that we "kill 2 rabbits with the one shot". Outside gold the copper will be in a huge demand in a few years and we will indirectly benefit from it with our PDI shares.
A lot of people with a big pockets much smarter then I invested millions of dollars in this gem and I will ride along , for as LONG as I can.
GLTA,
VB
We are facing exciting times. Funds and "right" people are accumulating the stock, when word gets out and they will start recommendations - we are going to take off. Gold will double in 5 years. No gloom and doom here.
DVM , I like your numbers , specifically a green ones ;0).
P.S. I quick-check your top 10 picks and particularly like RVM.TO - will keep eye on it, thanks..
I feel heavy and pushed into my chair, my ears are ringing, what do I hear?
"Houston , we have a lift-off ! "
Thanks in4$, I'd be curios to know who wants 190K shares ?
Mjk, I am in your camp when it comes to PDI. My concern /hope are: can they handle everything what will be available to build, once Imelt’s project begins? It is a huge undertaking as JET notice even 10% of infrastructure build-up would take them in Billions…. Keep talking ;o)
Thanks DVM for a quick NSU evaluation, I like to keep a second miner on a list just in case. So if nsu did not meet your cut can you recommend one for my list?
When it comes to bonds- since I am working for General Electric my 401K retirement portfolio is limited to bonds and GE stock which company can to offer.
It is hard to figure out how to stay above the water, I am agree.
You are bringing a good point , Ricnat. Cheers ;0)
To answer your question and just for once to deviate from the rule: I am holding very conservative bonds in my retirement account. My only stock play is PTQ, but I am keeping one eye on interesting mining company - NSU. (mine combines gold, copper and zink). If anyone with a few free minutes on their hand wants advice me - I’d appreciate. I invested and play in stock market all my life, but my mining experience some what limited. Thanks.
Thanks DVM, Ricnat, Loji and everyone else for debating PTQ/PDI question. I like that expression “ icing on a cake”. But I have to agree with Mjk that while for the next 2-5 years Ptq will be our best performer, but if we are to keep PDI for much longer time frame 7-10 years - then no telling how high that baby can go. Imelt’s development can make it happen; if Fifer can win contract work over Koreans , with his connections he might do , but can he handle all ? It will be exciting to watch.
Nice postings everyone. Still would like someone to debate me which company on a long run ends-up making us more money? PDI or PTQ?
Thanks RealD. I just got feeling how important and valuable PDI spin-off will be for investors. On a long run, I think PDI will be more profitable venture then PTQ, imo. Mjk mention this before and I agree, look if we spin table around and say: “for every 4 shares ptq – you get 1 pdi … again: every 4 ptq = 1 pdi.
Then mathematically speaking, which share is more expensive? Forget about $.25 previously discussed, in a long term PDI will outperform PTQ by a long shot.
P.S. Lojiko, you have been quiet lately, I know it is back to school time (my daughter goes to college in Ohio); still we are waiting to be enlightened by your opinion. ;0)
Welcome Horns, we will break $ 1.20 resistance in no-time.
May be marketers are reading our posts this morning, or stopped drinking a cool-aid, stock is pulling back lately.. Gold is holding and De Beers and AngloGold will spent millions to hunt gold under Atlantic Ocean.
Sun is always shining above the clouds.
While gold is correcting, possibly to aprox. $1280, Walstreet looks on any news as a good news, regardless if it is just a seasonal or temporary employment, or even worse then anticipated- it is all good. Like after having a few good Belgian Blond beers- next few Milwaukee taste just as good.
It is time to short the Market. Yes , Indian weddings are over and possibility to make a quick buck makes fund managers to take some profits from gold an move it to equities , but PIGS are still there and getting worse.
" Strong" dollar masked by week Euro make them believe that we are out of woods .. " Quiet before the storm".
I've been fool in 1999 - never again.
Yes, it is looks fishy ( last month transaction ? ) , but I am willing to close one eye, for now.. hmm
Jal, It might be just a bogus company to set-up cash transaction or tax play, etc, I would not waste my time on it.
Jal, I read an article you recommended written by Gordon. He brings a good point - management of operation. As we all know management can either make it or brake it. At this point I think management team did a good job, but the goals has been raised and more are needed to get done to go forward. We all know what those items are ( Mjk mention them in his recent post ).
I for once welcome salvo back, regardless how we feel about the stock - the board needs more controversy and different opinions, IMO. It would help to stay grounded and focus on near term issues. Otherwise posters beginning to echo each other : $ 1.50, 2.50, etc... Cheerleading is Ok , but let be real- world is not a perfect place and investment in mining is a risky business, so there is no guarantee here. I only invest in PTQ what I can afford to loose.
Just trying to pour some cool water.
Good call Mjk, we completely got sidetracked. In a few days we will know much more, I hope.
To add to your funny mushroom /fish - there is old Italian proverb: “fish begin to spoil from the head”. I still have confidence in our management, but they better start to deliver some goods.
As long as Clarios - Aquarius buys those 200 shares for a buck at the end of the day - I don’t care. And gold is hanging tough.
No need to worry , IMO. It is just a temporary hiccup ,as you mention POG is going to $ 1500 by end of this year, - most analysts agree on that. Even Cramer advocates to increase percentage of gold holding for individual accounts to as much as 20% ! That is huge thing to say for him.. And for fund managers from 1% to 5%. Just 8 more days ...patience grasshopper...
Market is getting excited about seasonal jobs, we need more nurses and computer specs,- big deal ! - where are the manufacturing jobs? Gone, nana.. Unless we have new industrial revolution to develop some new energy source or something.. I am paying $3.10 per gallon in Cincinnati.
P.S. Bobwins, - good luck , as the old saying: ".. Bulls will make money, bears will make money, but pigs- will get slathered" .. I just hope we are the Bulls .
The interesting scenario will be played out by warrant holders of $ 1.54 with strike date October 2011. Lets assume for the sake of argument that we are approaching May with SP getting close to $2. PDI is about to get spin-of in a month or two and if I am one of those warrant holders, the question will pop up in my mind : Do I take a chance to stay with a warrant and hopping SP will get to $2.50 for me to make a nice profit? Or what if its stay about $ 2.00 - limiting my profit to $ .46. May be it is a good decision to cash warrant in May in order to get PDI shares , HM ?
Obama and Bernanke can use some lessons:
PANAMA CITY, (Reuters). "Panama's economy would grow this year to 9%, driven largely by the implementation of mega projects as a public investment plan, the Government said today, Sunday, President Ricardo Martinelli.
For 2010, the government estimates that the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) would have grown between 6.5% and 7%, a strong acceleration on the 3.2% expansion recorded in 2009.
The Central American nation resisted the recent global financial crisis better than many economies in the region and is having a special impetus to investment in the expansion project of the Panama Canal, estimated at 5 billion 250 million dollars.
"Panama will be one of the most dynamic economies in Latin America with a growth between 8% and 9%, placing over Peru and Chile, so far the leaders in the region," said the president before the National Assembly deputies
