Could be time to call in Reggie for a bit of mentoring.
Just watched the Yanks/Sox recap. Indeed, as was once famously quipped: Down goes Frazier.
Even in my 50+ league, you don't see 'em booted like that too often. Scranton might be too generous...maybe a move to Miami instead...
Best dig of the night came from the Diamondbacks announcer:
"Looking at this Mets bullpen, you can see how Degrom won the Cy Young award with just 10 victories".
Gotta say, the Mets offense BLEW during this game. They were soft and easy. 8 innings they went down in order.
Brewers win a tough one, even when Hader can't get the job done.
NL central is easily the best division in baseball. All teams still in with a shot at taking out the top spot.
In contrast, the rest of MLB is a mess. Rays and Braves are keeping their divisions watchable, but the rest of the races are pretty much done and dusted. Yeah, I know it's a 162 game season, but do you really think the dodgers, astros or twins will even be challenged? So you have 3 divisions with 50 game seasons and 2 divisions where it's only a question of who takes first and who is the wild card. What's left? 110 games of losers kicking each other when they're down, jockeying to get rid of their veterans so the fat get fatter.
No wonder baseball has a serious attendance problem.
Yup. They blew that one But it happens. Even to Hader!
That Mariners deal was putting a lot of smiles on Mets'fans faces before the season started. Didn't you give it a thumbs up?
Maybe an agent isn't the best pathway to a successful GM job in the bigs. Probably cheaper to hire a baby -faced stats dude fresh out of university like the Brewers did. ??
I think it's Houston. Then in the next tier, the Yanks and Red Sox. The Astros have it all.
I honestly think the yanks are a better team without Stanton. Judge is the big stick every team needs in the line up. He has carried the yanks previously and the line up seems to fire on more cylinders when he's in the 4 hole. I don't think Stanton provides the same spark.
He is indeed! Yanks productivity has been off the charts without the big name stars. How do you sit these guys when Stanton, Didi and lurch return?
Come in to my office. Thanks for the .338 average, the power and the stellar d. Here's your bus ticket to Columbus.
Schoop is having a nice season in Minnesota, but IMO, DJ has been the shrewdest off season signing from the massive class of 2nd basemen.
It is amazing. Now let's see them do 1/2 of that against the Astros, because that's what's waiting in October.
Wow. Maybe crazy market conditions call for crazy trading patterns! Nice job to claw back 41% in a few weeks.
BLRX Sheff bought in 100k shares. No doubt the flock will follow. Could explain the volume.
I still think the Mets could pull their thumbs out and make a run in that division this season...just can't afford any more sweeps by the Marlins.
Maybe you could trade managers.... the Mets trade Callaway to the Nats for Dave Martinez. Looks like it's a close race about who's getting fired first.
Thanks to the Cash-man for letting Gio walk. He's been the stabilizer the Brewers have needed, munching up a boat load of innings and showing the young arms how to pitch rather than throw.
...thought it was the "socks"....
Hmm. If the 100U vial if indeed a smoke screen for the filing delay, what, IYO, could be the real reason(s) for the delay?
Been singing that tune since the last $17 raise. This company has been nothing but a good, hard kick in the nuts.
Lesson 1: when insiders bail hand over fist on their shares, it's usually not a sign that pps appreciation is happening anytime soon.
Glad we got shed of broxton, even though wahl is done for the year.
Excellent to see yelich back in the line up today. Even better to have missed degrom and thorskin.
Gonna be a long year. Don't quit on the metties just yet. With the sp staff you have, a 9 game streak could happen any time. And then you're right back in it.
A tough loss, indeed. But that's the nature of an 18 inning game, and you have to admit that the Brewers had many, many more chances to win it than the Mets before the 18th. On the bright side, your bullpen performed well.
How can you be sick of the Brewers? They're never in contention long enough to be sick of them.
That's nothing. Just get CASHman to spend some of Boss Jr's daddy's money. Now losing Yelich, THAT'S a killer.
Feeling lucky for the Crew to catch your 2 aces in slump mode. The bats broke out big and Counsell did the right thing pulling Woodruff after a strong 5 innings.
We needed a series win as the Cards have been looking like the top team in the NL imo.
Well done kik! Lots of portfolios up by 20 percent or better.
We certainly need pitching, especially starters. Getting swept by the Cards sucks, but it's not only the pitching that's been weak in Crewtown. Aside from Yelich, the bats have been awful to mediocre. And I see Santana lighting it up in Seattle and wonder what the Brewers GM sees in Braun over a guy who hit 30 dongs the last time he was given a chance. Could have dumped Braun 2 years ago when the Dodgers were eager to pick up his bloated contract. And lookie over in Baltimore, where Villar is playing a solid 2nd base hitting decently. I don't get it. Oh well, hopefully Gio can give them some q starts.
SRTS what's it going to take for this ticker to move...it has been the Rodney Dangerfield of bio stocks for far too long.
Time for Cash-man to overpay Keuchel.
I'm thinking the suspense will be over in a couple of weeks, tops.
I'm not an Orioles fan but I hate to see this situation with Davis unfolding. Small market teams can't make this mistake; they have 1 shot to sign a mega-contract with a bona-fide superstar who can become the face of team for the duration of the deal. This could be the worst contract EVER. And the O's are paying Trumbo $13.5 million. And they let Adam Jones, the true face of the team, slip away to Arizona, who are paying him a paltry $3 million.
No wonder only 6500 fans showed up for the Orioles game yesterday, which in itself is a huge disgrace to the legacies of Frank and Brooks Robinson, Boog Powell, Cal Ripken Jr, Jim Palmer and many other former Baltimore greats.
Bullpens have been an issue with a lot of reams. At least you didn't overpay for mediocrity. If I signed Miller, Robertson or Kelly for $25 million plus, I'm not too happy with the results so far.
You know better than to get too excited by a 6-2 start! But this year, the Mets certainly feel like a better roster to me all around. And with no expectations from big $$ bats like Bruce and Cespedes, other young dudes with something to prove are getting a fair chance without the pressure. It's a great division, the NL east. Gonna make those teams reach deep and play outstanding baseball if they want to win it.
Without a doubt Maddon is an excellent manager.... game 7 World Series moves notwithstanding. Super sharp. Sometimes 2 sharp knives are one too many in the cutlery drawer.
Cubs won't extend him past this year. And there's some ego clash with him and baby Theo.
First manager to be fired this season? Who do you think?
Joe Maddon gets my vote. Everyone else is either rebuilding or their teams are supposed to suck this season.
5 more wins in a row and they'll on pace to match the 2018 Mets 77-85 4th place finish!!!
Yelich with an awesome weekend. 3 out of 4 against the Cards is a nice early bit of home cooking!
Santana for Gamel was a great trade for the Mariners. Santana tore it up in 2017, with 30 dongs and a .278 average when given a chance to play every day. Cain and Yelich made him dispensable...until the first injury happens to a Brewers OF.
Brewers have made a couple of dubious moves in the past few years, like letting Gennett walk for free. I think the Gamel trade will be another one. You got a solid power bat for years in Santana.
Some highlights for me:
As an example, we estimate the management fees from the $1.05 billion of capital that RCP raised in 2018 will have an average fee life in excess of eight years. Few businesses have that kind of visibility
One notable accounting line item in the table was the non-cash gain in the fourth quarter from the $8.9 million write up of
P10’s tax asset. We hope to continue to grow our profitability such that a continued reassessment of our Deferred Tax Asset is
required.
What do you think of Boras's idea of each team having a franchise player whose salary doesn't count against the payroll cap?
Brewers arms looking pretty ragged. Nelson a bit tender, Jeffress with a dead shoulder and worst yet, Knebel might need TJ surgery. Hope they can wrangle some kind of a deal with Kimbrel because like most small market clubs, their playoff window is only open for a couple of years.
And there's no Wade Miley surprise in the wings. NL east and NL central: one or two injuries could pull the pin on the whole season.

Thanks for the update. Looking forward to tuning into the presentation.
SRTS any significant updates from Roth?
