Well, I swapped another position to buy some of those 13's yesterday. I expect they will return a good return.
Later,

I think you're looking at it....
As you probably know insiders recently bought over 1 million dollars worth of stock of their own company.
I think with any demonstrable news or success....we see some pretty serious appreciation before we come up for air.
Also, if I'm not confusing stocks....bigger money also came in at over 60 cents a share before that.

Randy
Hi lowman,
Are you familiar with Hal Turner's explanation of the Amero?
I'm not generally too much of a conspiracy theorist....but I'm also fairly skeptical about the media and the US Government.

Hey Joe,
You were right about moving your assets to cash. I'm intrigued with this whole economic melt down....
Someone sent me a link to a Hal Turner video and US plans to convert to the Amero....I'd be interested in your thoughts.

I thought I would clarify one other thing....
"Funny you should mention that(girlfriend). As I looked back upon my former Christian life, I tried to define the times that I felt closest to Jesus. They were times when I had broken up with a girlfriend, or at least ones I truly cared about. I'm not saying there is no 'comfort' to being a Christian, indeed there can be, but that doesn't make God real, it makes our ability to believe real. Of that, I have no question."
I wasn't very clear on the sequence of events....1. had girlfriend. 2. Went bible study. 3. Found God real and Bible powerful. 4. Realized relationship had progressed to improperness and didn't know how to back it up. 5. Broke off relationship. 6. Sensed possible call to the ministry. 7. Began pre-seminary studies, ETC.
My main point that in my instance it wasn't the discouragement of a broken relationship that made me need God and seek after him...it was really the growing awareness of my sinfulness and its affect that drew me closer to the Lord.
Finally, your last paragraph.
"Everyone wants their opinions and insights validated, even Christopher Hitchens. It's just a different pulpit. As Christian preachers go, people can only disagree with your opinions, unless you're misquoting something, you really can't be said to be wrong about anything, it's just an opinion and premise. You can extol and derive meanings out of a number of mundane books, even a cook book if one chooses. Of course your audience won't pay as much attention if there isn't something in it for them, like eternal life and never dying :)
I see the Christian ministry as much more than this. I think the truth is objective and is accurately summarized by the historic confessions of the church. I believe them all, from the Apostle's Creed, to the Heidelberg Catechism, Belgic Confession, Canon's of Dort, Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms. My teaching/preaching should not controdict these and when I teach and preach the Scriptures it's their purpose and points that I will preach...or I shouldn't say anthing at all.
"Most of the preachers wouldn't be preaching if the concept of tithing were to be abolished either ;)"
I don't disagree with this in the least. I think the spirit of antichrist is no where more seen and found in so called "Christian" pulpits all across the USA....mainline churches who really don't believe the events of Scripture are real. I think of II Corinthians 11 makes this pretty clear:
"13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works."
Well, enough for now. I hope you enjoy rasding and responding.

Hi Legion, I thought I should first respond to your comment about whether what you believe is post-modernism.
"It's something like that Randy. It's like any scientific experiment I suppose. You start at the beginning with no assumptions. In the case of the Bible, you start with the assumption that you're going to read a book, and then after reading the book, you decide if it's true.
As I've alluded to earlier, we have a pretty fundemental difference at this point. I think the idea that someone or anyone approaches any subject or book without assumptions is impossible. Biases, prejudices, assumptions and pre-suppositions almost entirely affect and determine our conclusions. If you want to debate this further, I think it is arguable.
Add to this the fact that Satan is the most cunning of the creatures God made. I don't know if you've ever read CS Lewis but I think it's in Mere Christianity he makes the point that if he were the Devil....(it might have beenin the Screwtape Letters), he would convince most people that he doesn't even exist. He would convince them to trust in their own intellect and rationality...all the while not realizing they are doing his will, fulfilling his purposes and advancing his cause.
I can't explain everything about the world, why bad things happen and such, but the way I look at it, it's more of a problem for atheists and humanists than for me. They maintain the inherent goodness of man...that there is nothing within man that makes him sin or do bad things. The problem is that it's pretty clear that there is evil and man does bad things. It fits in my worldview how about yours?
Regarding the advancement of culture and society...no problem. I think it is pretty clear that society has both societally "evolved"and "devolved." I think this is clear in a number ways...and explainable principally before and affter the flood. Geological evidents points to the fact that every sign of man we find...accompanies culture. I don't believe there were "pre-adamic" versions of man.
Speaking of darwinian evolution...Darwin was aware that the geological record did not support his theory and even said that one could rightly reject his theory if later geological fossils didn't support his theory. Well, while there might some claimed intermediate steps....there really is not not enough. I suppose puctuated development is a theory supported by the lack of evidence...but mathmatically even this is indefensible. For the most part development and change are within defined species.
More Later.

Before typing some more, I reread my initial response and saw one typo....
"At any rate, I do believe that we as individuals are the standard by which truth is judged."
The point I was trying to make was that I do not believe that we are the standard by which truth is judged.
As the church wall used to say,
"GOD SAID IT, I BELIEVE IT, THAT SETTLES IT."
I would even go one further...
"GOD SAID IT AND THAT SETTLES IT, WHETHER I BELIEVE OR NOT."
Oh yeah, this is also my response to your video references to the History Channel link. I am intellectually, theologically, and historically satisfied that the Scriptures are what they portray themselves to be, the infeallable and inerrant Word of God.
The world of unbelief has a great deal to lose if there really is a God. From their and your starting point, if he has really revealed Himself therein, an impossible inconsistency would be maintained.
Now to the other subjects at hand.

HIV Can Re-Emerge From a Single Cell
By Randy Dotinga, HealthDay Reporter - Mon Oct 20, 8:48 PM PDT
- MONDAY, Oct. 20 (HealthDay News) -- It's been a mystery for medical researchers: How does the AIDS virus bring itself back to life after powerful drugs allow infected people to eliminate all signs of the disease in their blood?
Now, new research suggests HIV can hibernate inside a small number of cells -- or even a single cell -- until re-emerging to wreak havoc.
Study co-author Huldrych Gunthard, a researcher at University Hospital Zurich, in Switzerland, said the findings are actually good news, because they suggest that the virus isn't replicating itself while dormant. That could mean that AIDS patients who adhere to their drug regimens as prescribed will avoid having to fight a newly strengthened virus.
"It is a very good message for patients and doctors," Gunthard said.
While drugs available since the mid-1990s have allowed many AIDS patients to reduce the level of the virus in their blood to zero, the disease remains incurable. According to Gunthard, the virus can hide in the lymphatic system -- which includes lymph nodes, the spleen and other organs -- and in the brain and bone marrow, among other places.
Doctors generally urge AIDS patients to take their medication on a regular basis, because the virus can make a dramatic -- and potentially deadly -- reappearance if there aren't drugs in the body to keep it at bay.
In the new study, Gunthard and colleagues examined the AIDS virus from 20 patients who had gone off their medications for two weeks at a time as part of a study. By examining how the virus evolved over time, the researchers found that the disease can emerge from a small number of cells, or even a single one, when medication is stopped.
"This is actually very surprising, if one considers that there are millions of cells in the body from which the infection can take off," Gunthard said.
The research, published in this week's Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, also suggests that the virus doesn't evolve into new forms while patients aren't taking AIDS drugs. Evolution of the virus can lead to new forms that aren't as susceptible to drugs.
"This is a very good finding and suggests that our treatments are really very potent, and the effects will be long lasting," Gunthard said.
Dr. Jeffrey Laurence, director of the Laboratory for AIDS Virus Research at Weill Medical College of Cornell University, said the new findings reflect the findings of other research.
"These studies imply that current anti-HIV drug regimens are about as potent as they can be, completely blocking viral replication, and thus cell-to-cell transmission of virus," he said. "Therefore, any virus measured in the blood of a patient on long-term therapy -- assuming they are adherent to their medications -- most likely comes only from cells infected prior to the start of HIV treatment."

Thanks Preciouslife....I think the points you bring up are essentially the problem of much 'so called' Christianity these days.
People often ask what's the least I have to do to be a Christian and go to heaven when I die. The whole concept of salvation turns this up side down. What can I do...how can I help...I'm yours God use me any way you want.

I was wondering the same thing. My guess was someone's account got sold out....maybe a margin call.

seif79, I agree.....just this morning I posted this on my As Iron Sharpens Iron board:
DRGP So far this investment has been a big loser for me....but I remain hopeful...even confident that the company will succeed and that in time we will see a major trend reversal. With the revenue growth 100-200% and potential profits this stock could easily bust out to nickle and dime and then to a quarter and fifty cents.
The DANGER....leveraged revenue growth disappoints and company runs out of liquidity. I think stock is priced by the market here for this reason.
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=32995578
Once this question is no longer a concern we will find additional buyers and see a higher stock price.

Well Brent and Janice, I figure you better have some more kids to make this happen. :-O
After my last post I thought would share my current portfolio so we might have something more focused to discuss:
CDCH xxxxx
DRGP xxxxxx
EENR xxxxx
ENUI xxxxxxx
GRYE xxx
HENC xxxx
ZANE xxx
Rationale:
CDCH I've drank the kool-aid...and trust the folks that told me about it the joint venture with a major mining company. If/when it gets completed it will be a big deal and get real interesting. I'm happy with my position and will probably buy more if/when JV is announced.
DANGER....leveraged revenue growth disappoints and company runs out of liquidity. I think stock is priced by the market here for this reason.
EENR Early stage gas and oil play...remarkable story...reverse merger that acquired beleaguered company with proven reserves and revenue....once pending lawsuits are settled we likely go to a buck or two. share structure is tight....one offer at 20 some cents and then we go to 50 cents and we're off to the races. Any big news will move this big time.
ENUI This is my sleeper of all sleeper plays....company went dark via Form 15 back in November 2006. I've maintained a relationship with company and am confident we will see it rise again. Might be pipe dream...but I have confidence in principles involved. If I'm right, we should see their filings get caught up and future plans disclosed by the end of the year.
GRYE Got freebie shares for 20 cents before major reverse split....go rounded up shares...and supposed get 1000 restricted shares (haven't seen them yet). Story is tied to some big name scammers so tread lightly...however the story is intriguing....jatrofa plantations to produce bio-diesel. We'll see.
HENC Australian Gas and Oil Play. Own both on and off shore concessions near recent discoveries...very likely the will hit oil...big name players close to company. Lastly, recently announced private placement where management and insiders bought up the entire thing....over a million bucks at 25 cents a share....above the current share price. Also, there's rumored to be a major joint venture for off shore drilling effort with some chinese investment group.
ZANE I just parked a few dollars here till I need them else where. Company has increasing revenue and is operating a near break even. They've recently sold of their government subsidiary and paid off a bunch of their debt, did reverse split 1 for 4 to stay in compliance, are now in danger of being out of compliance again...historicaly trading at all time low. CEO is former money manager for mutual fund...smart guy...I expect we will bounce to buck in near term...likely see $2-3 long term. But WDIK?
Well BFA, great to have you stop by. So far the board hasn't really fulfilled the purpose I designed it for....but it has become a repository of sorts of my investment philosophy.
While money can be made by out trading other traders, I think the biggest money and success is attained by finding quality companies that will succeed over the long term.
Oddly, as a look at my current portfolio, I've not been as disciplined as my "philosophy." I find myself still swinging for the fence and willing to listen to next big story....in retrospect I would have been better off sticking to proven value...but the potential of undiscovered stocks and companies still gets me excited.
Anyway, welcome as our latest boardmark. If you have some value plays that fit our criteria....feel free to share them.

Randy

May the political views of Ronald Reagan rise and live again!!!
Amen to that. We are well...our children are growing in grace...and seemingly are learning to love and trust the Lord. Our little ones......one is out of high school ...three are in high school......and two in grade school...are growing up. It's scary and exciting.
The Lord brings us through trials and troubles, but continues to provide for all our needs. While I suppose we and our children could grow bitter and frustrated, for the most part we have learned to wait more patiently on the Lord.
I believe in the future cause I believe in God's grace and providence. I think at one time and anoother we will all have difficult times to get through...I'm not one of those prosperity preachers who teaches that if you become a christian everything will go well. What I believe and teach and as the Bible is pretty clear about, is how God will use such times to prove and test us, to bring us through with renewed faith and commitment. I rememember hearing a black preacher saying something to the affect...."the bigger the problem...the bigger the promotion."
That which should characterize each of our lives is a willingness to be used by God and even to be used up by him....or as Paul says, to be poured out as a drink offering in service to the faith of others. Our Boss doesn't require success...but he does expect faithfulness.
Anyway, thanks for you kind words.

Now in Q1 of Fiscal 2009 we've done 1/2 of that in the first quarter alone.

Thanks PL, that was pretty well written. Did you author it? Either way, thanks.
I've generally understood the antichrist as being most commonly represented by apostate Christian leaders/preachers--no where more clear than in mainline churches that have distorted the gospel and use religion as a means of gain.
In 2 Corinthians 9 or 10 it says that we ought not to be surprised that if Satan portrays himself as an angel of light if his ministers do the same.
In this light I am quite comfortable talking about the spirit of antichrist.

TRUTH PROJECT CHRONICLES (4)
Who Is God?”
By Pastor Randy Klynsma (articles have been printed in our local newspaper...the Bridgewater Tribune)
The TRUTH PROJECT DVD series at the Trinity Orthodox Presbyterian Church has been continuing, even though these lesson summaries have not been written. The consensus of those who’ve been watching the series is that is well made and very worth watching.
The subject of Lesson Four is God. At the outset the host, Del Tackett points out that this whole endeavor of trying to explain or define God is incredibly difficult to do. He uses the illustration of trying use a bucket to empty the ocean and then having to do it gain. The Triune God is infinite and eternal. He is one is essence, yet has revealed himself as three persons.
To my surprise and appreciation he drew the attention of the class to the definition from early Presbyterianism, from the Westminster Confession of Faith. They answer the question of who is God with the following explanation:
CHAPTER 2.Of God, and of the Holy Trinity
“1. There is but one only, living, and true God, who is infinite in being and perfection, a most pure spirit, invisible, without body, parts, or passions; immutable, immense, eternal, incomprehensible, almighty, most wise, most holy, most free, most absolute; working all things according to the counsel of his own immutable and most righteous will, for his own glory; most loving, gracious, merciful, long-suffering, abundant in goodness and truth, forgiving iniquity, transgression, and sin; the rewarder of them that diligently seek him; and withal, most just, and terrible in his judgments, hating all sin, and who will by no means clear the guilty.”
As God is infinite and we are finite, the only way that we can know anything certain about God is dependent on his revelation of himself to us. Thankfully, God has done this in two ways: General and Special Revelation. And what you might think are general and special revelation?
Well, General revelation is how God has revealed his handiwork throughout the created universe. Psalm 19 speaks of this, “The heavens declare the glory of God the firmament show forth his handiwork.” The spiritually blind fail to see God’s power and wisdom throughout the world. General revelation is enough to attribute guilt for unbelief. Romans 1:20, 21 says, “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.”
Special revelation is the Scriptures themselves. Although God has revealed himself directly in the past, in these last days he has revealed his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. His self-revelation is found in the books and letters of the Scriptures, the Holy Bible. Of these Paul says in II Timothy 3, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness….” This is true whether we choose to believe it. Jesus himself commented on this when he said, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my word will never pass away.”
CONCLUSION: Be sure to build your life on the only foundation that will last.

Well Legion, if you had a good week last week the way the markets were down, your probably a bit smarter than I gave you credit for. I didn't suffer too badly, but it wasn't pretty either.
BTW, I watched both videos and wasn't impressed with either.
I thought I would focus this posts in response to asentence in your third paragraph, "I suppose it ocmes from my fascination with the human system of belief and how it's formed."
If you click on my profile you will see that this is also one of my interests...to figure out what makes people tick...to understand how they make moral decisions and why.
I think much has to do with our fundemental beliefs...our assumptions or presuppositions. I think that considering our starting positions there's very little likelihood that we will ever come to agreement. Perhaps the best we can hope for is for the other concede that our "belief system" is consistent with itself. If either of our "systems of thought" or world views is held with inconsistencies or illogical premises it should be questioned perhaps rejected. Agreed?
At any rate, I do believe that we as individuals are the standard by which truth is judged. In all likelihood we will grow old and die like everyone else. During this time we will have lived what is for us a lifetime but in the big picture is like the grass that grew up in the morning, dried up and then blew away (that's a bible verse btw).
You do not stand in judgment of the Scripure, except from your perspective of what you know and don't know. Epistimologically, people think they are the standard of truth. But by definition truth has to be bigger than any one of us. The only way we can be sure that what we know is true...is if we know everything, absolutely everything.....OR (as I firmly believe) we know Someone who does---yeah...God.
Herein lies the dilemna--Our anchor, our starting point has to be something or someone. Maybe it's ourselves, or logic... maybe reason...maybe current events...whatever....but everything has to fit into our worldview for our worldview to be consistent. It has to account for all the data and experience that's out there.
My starting point is God and his revealed will in the Bible. I'm honest about that...and believe that my starting point makes the most sense of the world in which we live. For instance, living according to Christian virtues is not only does good for you, it also does good for those around us. That's because of the reflexive nature of the law, it expects/commands you to treat others the way you would like to be treated. Fairness, honesty, fidelity, liberty, (put in any command or virtue taught in the Bible). It is what you want for yourself and your loved ones--the way you want to be treated.
What's your starting point? Your brain? "Reason?" If it makes sense to you? Belief in "the brotherhood or majority of men?"
Oh well, I'll continue my response later. I actually had to type a fair amount of this twice as I accidently it back and lost my first post.
Regards,
Randy
Well, we've actually seen some buying coming in to DRGP. It is always hard to know where the bottom is and buy as much stock as you want there.
The last couple of days most executions were at the ask. A friend suggested that maybe this means there's some good news on the horizon.
It often seems that such news gets built into the price of most stocks whether it is good or bad. I noticed on CEOcast's disclaimer that they occasionally buy shares of the companies they're IR'ing for.
Who knows maybe in this Sunday's CEOcast Newsletter we will learn that they have accumulated a bunch of shares. I would take that as a pretty good sign.
I guess we shall have to wait and see. :)

I use TD Ameritrade and have also received my free trading shares, but so far haven't seen the restricted divi shares yet.
I don't know if you've looked down the list, but just a few days ago GRYE updated their filings with Pinksheets.com. There's not a lot there....but it sounds like the share structure is still tight.
So far most view all this with some skepticism, but I think the updated filings were a step in the right direction.
