Prototype modulators for testing manufactured on their 3” wafers in their lab, would be a logical answer.
If you want to see a stock manipulation, check out PSTV. It has 16 million shares outstanding and traded over 100 million in one day. Doubled and then hit new lows!
Lightwave is not being manipulated to this degree.
Pro, the odds are very high since it is a stated annual goal revealed in the 2021 ASM presentation.
Feb 15
We know somebody shorted yesterday at $7.31!
Thanks! That short seller’s next action will be to buy the stock to cover, but you will not know when that happens or at what price the short position was covered.
Hey bagged, just curious if your Schwab account history page listed the price at which you initially lent your shares?
My mistake! It was $3 million at $9.16
The company should have close to $35 million in cash at the end of last year. One of the goals outlined in the 2021 ASM presentation was 1) commercial agreement and 2) getting on a customer’s preferred vendor list. So, of course, we should expect revenue this year and that should start by the 2022 ASM.
Barring another patent announcement or a new hire, the next press release should be a joint PR announcing a partnership.
Well this should end any speculation that any commercial deals will have to wait until after Lebby and Marcelli get their annual grants in April. We are good to go any day now as we always were! However, I do think it is significant that the annual grants were done in January instead of April. That can only be a bullish sign
Also the number of options granted were lower this year versus last year for everybody. No clue as to why! Perhaps the 2016 Equity Incentive Plan had fewer authorized shares remaining?? If not, maybe they are saving some for non executive employees and potential new hires.
Extreme volatility
There is unusually high volume in the June $12.50 puts and the June $10 calls. Also, the market makers have opened up the September option series a few days early.
5 September $7.50 puts traded at $4.30 early this morning! Wow!
It is clear to me that the only way an insider can exercise their stock options and keep everyone happy is to do it on the expiration date and not one day earlier.
And then there were two!
No! I know a money manager named Hunter Thompson at Thompson Davis in Richmond, VA. He specializes in small cap opportunities and I have forwarded LWLG presentations to him.
He had children and named them? I have known one for 45 years!
RKF, there are not a lot of people in this country named Hunter Thompson.
From 6G to big data, China is looking to boost tech's share of its economy https://www.cnbc.com/2022/01/18/china-looks-to-boost-techs-share-of-gdp-by-2025-through-6g-big-data.html?__source=iosappshare%7Ccom.apple.UIKit.activity.CopyToPasteboard
I am referring to new annual option grants that occur between Jan 16 and Jan 19 every year.
FYI
Expect Form 4 SEC filings early this coming week for BOD members.
Lebby and Marcelli receive their incentive stock option awards in Mid April.
Also expect the conspiracy theorists to make up ridiculous stories to fit their obvious agendas.
Keep in mind that one of the company’s annual goals stated on May 27 ASM presentation is to have a commercial agreement and to be listed on an approved vendor list. Lebby has never missed a goal.
Polymer Headlights? May have promise!
I am trying to sell June $10 puts, but I am already short 100 contracts.
This Friday or maybe Monday is the next record date for short interest. My guess is back down to 2 million shares.
Matt, those numbers represent two dates on the calendar, but nothing in between. The short selling market lobbied for opacity and settled for once every two weeks years ago. All we know for sure is that over 2.25 million shares were purchased from entities that borrowed the shares from one date to the next. During the interim period, the short interest could have fluctuated by millions of shares.
I guess that explains where the institutions got some of their supply! Coiled spring!
I haven’t posted the Schwab interest rate for borrowing shares to short in quite a while. The rate has dropped all the way to 10.25%, which is still high, in my opinion.
I believe the lower rate reflects the growth in shares owned by institutions, who make all of their shares available to borrowers.
What was the interest rate?
What level of revenue is needed to reach positive cash flow? I think the number is around $40 million. They have a long way to go!
Yes! Not sure I have said this on this board, but purchasing managers do not make major decisions by themselves. Changing suppliers in a tight market is dangerous enough, but changing technologies is even harder. The first thing the buyer will do is to ask his current supplier to lower their price so low that they can retain the business for a while longer. But, eventually, Lightwave’s value proposition will become widely known and the purchasing team will have to make the tough decision to pay a little more for 2-3 x the speed as well as $100 million per year savings per data center on green power savings.
Interesting
The value proposition is multifaceted for sure. Pricing the product will be one of those headwinds encountered by small companies dealing with behemoths! Fortunately, our management team and BOD has held the highest positions at those behemoth companies and understands value.
Good video of the spinning process, which is how the Perkinamine polymer will be applied to the silicon photonics wafer.
The shorts are back to breakeven and will likely start covering in the mid $12 range. That is the range when institutional investors started accumulating and ran the stock to $18. The shorts panicked and covered and the stock went over $20. Both sides are very capable of panicking. Long term investors are focused on 2025 and beyond.
Certainly the joint press release we are all anticipating will be directed toward the Wall Street analysts at Morgan Stanley and all other participants in the GFS IPO. They in turn will start asking questions to their contacts at Google, Meta, Verizon, T, Microsoft, and many many others. The pressure to retrofit the data centers ASAP will result in MASS commercialization and MASS production and MASS volumes all made possible by the completion of the foundry PDKs.
As Dr. Lebby has said many times, “this is really very exciting!”
That is huge and it is a peer reviewed fact.
Jeunke22, would you agree that a typical data center would save approximately $78 million per year in their power expense? (300 million x 26%).
