Ive done similar valuations. And even conservative valuations are very rewarding. I too would prefer to see a dividend, so this can be a 1oo year hold, and ignore the market noise when the trade volume comes in like a tsunami.
I dont think the supply is the hurdle as much as the actual Law that has to go through the House of Commons as a bill. The Legal framework of Legislation is the hurdle. There are trade rules, import export rules, transportation (Driving) rules. The hurdle is getting to a well written Law that is able to integrate into society at all levels. Supply is not the issue IMO.
And Imagine the debate that will follow in the media and house of commons when the Conservative, who may be the opposition party, will serve as the "voice of reason" to any proposed bill. They will continue with the same "sell to kids "rhetoric, " Infineatly worse" and blah blah blah. Its going to be a wild ride before one can freely swipe a card to buy an ounce of recreation OG and pay taxes to the provinces and Federation.
What happens if no party wins a majority? A rundown of minority government scenarios

The waters will be murky for at least a few days after OCT . 19 because Harper Gov still has desperation options that hopefully he doesn't exercise.
Legalization will take months to draft a world class "Harm Reducing" bill that Libs, Greens, and NDP can conciously support. This will be a light beacon in North America for federal Legalization. The whole world will be watching and its more important that the Government get it right, or on the right foot, than to just do it for do it sake.
So comfortable 6 months to a year IMO. The party will form an office for the Cannabis trade that is already affiliated with Alcohol and Tobacco and sit down with Health Canada, RCMP, Provincial Law enforcement and Premieres and Industry Executives, Hopefully Canopy is at the table. They will all together draft a federal legislation that, like alcohol is adjustable in the provinces. The time line for the bill to go through the house through first , second and third readings while giving everyone ample time to be adjusted... maybe I year after the election dust settles. While the conservatives nay nay nay , oppose oppose oppose all the way IMO
34% you. Looks like canopy growth rate qoq
My ballot was # 4910. The election staff said its been very busy today. As far as I remember that's not normal for the first day of early polls in Canada. Here's to hoping far less than 25% were for harpers con fusion party. Here to hoping Canadians take advantage of their opportunity with one vote , to influence the way their lives are governed for the next foreseeable future. Canada needs social progress as much as economic progress. Canopy Growth needs it also.
Go Cannabis
Go Canopy Growth
I'm taking advantage of the early polls, especially because I will be very busy in the coming weeks. I will cast my vote this eve for the political party that is pro cannabis legalization amongst other things. This is in many ways a vote for the success of Canopy Growth, and also a vote to end the criminalization of my fellow citizens the use it medically with out prescription and recreationally. To some the topic is trivial, but that opinion alone does not make it so. A truly diverse society is understanding of differences and embraces them. Cannabis is not and has never been a threat to Canadian society and neither and citizens that use it. Anything can be abused. Sugar , salt , junk food and alcohol. But as adults we gage our behaviour and support a society with regulations that support us.
I voted Liberal. And proud of it
.Thought all the Cannabioid investor heads on this board might appreciate this short clip.
Im waiting for my health records to be mailed to me. a few weeks is what i was told. I very happy to know extracts r gonna hv a pharma grade standard. Bedrocan will set the high bar in that area and Tweed will provide the variety of Top quality strains.
All the licenses still say production only (http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/dhp-mps/marihuana/info/list-eng.php), so other than an ok press release preview, TRay is in line with the rest of the MMPR. I like that they have a vaporizer option cause inhalation is a relaxing habit that fits well with pain relief. Not everyone like to pop pills.
I don't underestimate any qualified LP cause they are all in it to win. Tweed is the same. They have had first mover status in many areas thus far, and often suffered for making first out of the gate mistakes. So I imagine he strategy now is, " its probably better to get it right the first time , rather than just being first".
HC is gonna be scrutinizing these products heavily, and more importantly, patients and doctors will be also. I imagine Tweed, and BED are focused on quality guaranteed, rather than the tortoise and hare race. Although the race is some what important, longevity surpasses all IMO. I believe the Canopy will set a higher bar than any LP anticipates. Silent rivers run deep. Nah Mean.
Changing their stance on cannabis mid campaign would be political suicide imo. The other parties would have fodder for tbe fire and everything theve said thus far would become hipocritical. The common sence conservatives would favor the policy, but the party itself would suffer politically. I think, the conservatives lose, liberals win, the conservatives get their rightful positions in question period to criticize every move the governing liberals make and babble on regressively about something Canada is forging progressively. Thats how poilics usually plays anyway
Politics of Fear. Cannabis is bad. Immigrants are bad. Homosexuality is Bad... while people drink and drive, come from n immigrant family in an immigrant nation and 90% of the internet is porn! Harper appeals to mindless zombies. not saying all conservative voters are, but when the manipulation is so apparent, join the party eh?
a conservative government after october 19 is a regressive canada. The real issues are ignored every day! Economic growth and diversity, energy policies, job opportunities for young people indebted after post secondary, aboriginal social issues... not weather a citizen can wear a niqaab. its one peice of cloth short of a nun! its her choice! if shes being forced to by someone, theres laws for that, nd the government forcing her to take it off is no different!
Zombies! Blank stare control freaks !
Go Canopy
i got a good laugh from this
"we view ourselves as being the best in the industry at what we do, and we only want to work with the best producer and that is Tweed," said Don of DNA Genetics. "Providing the best possible cannabis means combining all the right processes, with the right infrastructure and then nurturing and identifying the best genetics for every strain. We're excited to be part of that at Tweed." Added Aaron, the other half of DNA Genetics: "And let's face it – you can't miss the chance to grow some world class Chocolope in an old chocolate factory."
that is very subtly impressive. the best of cannabis culture, literally, now in house, under the canopy. IP victory. do u want coca cola or pc soda?
wrong link. sorry. heres the appropriate one.
Check out @BedrocanCda's Tweet: https://twitter.com/BedrocanCda/status/648531355345756160?s=01
Two days ago, Bedrocan BV founder, from Netherlands I assume, was in town showing Bruce his trimming skills in the lab.
http://metro.co.uk/2015/09/01/first-legal-medical-marijuana-pills-go-on-sale-in-europe-5370668/
This could hit all three hints. But we knew that already. So what is the significance to the two strains Weaver and Yorkshire?
A business deal/ arrangement? Strain purchace? Export? Expansion?
Tweed Eurozone? !
Bedrocan BV. was Bedrocan Canadas parent company. An already federally permitted zone. This is like Christmas Morning
.two more hints on instagram
So hint # 2 for tweed is friends visiting and hint #3 is #extendedfamily
when would twees farms harvest be due? the last one was around october of last year. could it be a the highest yeild in grams of these two strains? that would coincide with todays news
could tomorrows news be some kind of "high" milestone. friends in high places could be tweed customers. highest grams sold in a quarter that incidentally finishes today? higher patient numbers? profitability? im just throwing a guess out there. this guessing game is torchorously fun
Europe Tidbit.
http://metro.co.uk/2015/09/01/first-legal-medical-marijuana-pills-go-on-sale-in-europe-5370668/
dont want to go to far down the rabbit hole, but hey, one speculation is as good as another.
cbd is legal. thc is not. and it just says uk . not a specific country
colorodo is high altitude. but thats a federal no-no.
im not able to do any extensive web search right now, but i thought uk parliament made a move toward medical access, similar to its Canadian cousin?
I like this line of guessing. High places... her Highness? uk england? international expantion? didnt the UK pass some mmj access laws recently? with bedrocans european exposure , and Canopy's platform... is that possible?
on another note, id like to see Canopy be a source for info cause im haveing a hard time seperating tweed smith falls from being the top arch of this corporation. but whatever. my personal opinion
you are the Best Mr.Factor.
the stock prices nd market activity is very depressed. with the enormous potential the mmpr has to offer to society, even in its infancy, im perplexed as to drudgery. real jobs , real taxes, real change... legal change. no limit to mmpr applicants yet so anyone can apply, except those that dont qualify for reasons like criminal affiliations and activity...
mmpr wants to be able to provide ghe variety of products cannabis can go out to, but can not legally. so dont do it. duh... but that fight is a slow one with hc and feds. not lp's . look how excited people all over were when smith win extracts.
access is the main topic yet, nd less variety IMO cause street legal is way less head ache. but for tru med purposes, mmpr is a rough cut diamond
hmm.... i dont see the connection much either. has lift published anything this morning suggesting this was their line of hinting?
Lift used the hint " friends in High places" on the instagram post? HC are in 'High' regulatory seats... maybe one more hint Tweed!
Theres no hope trying to explain CYA's to career internet trolls. All we can hope for is that when they do come around, there will be top quality legal cannabis for them to consume that will aleviate their paranoia , anxiety and sheer DumbFQery that they seem to suffer from.
i read 80% combined system savings...?
Ufcking ridiculous! they would follow all of hc requurements except applying for nd receving a lisence.
i promise to follow all the rules of the road except having a drivers lisence...while i distribute cannabis.
GTFOH
Wow 80% savings! Long holders r gonna take the cake. so where will that put cost per gram? pennies!
punch in the adress for hershey farms nd u will see a plot view or on the gmp securities analysis. hershey is a big lot with more than one facility on the lot. tweed is only using a portion but paying a mortgage on tge whole thing. renting a portion makes giod sense. it will help cash flow. It will be very interesting to see who the lease tenant will be. something to complement canopy and tweed hershey im sure. especially because of the secure site requirements. ive been there. its huge. seperate entrances and parking lots and lots of land. shipping amd delivery doors. almost want to imagine truck loads of cannabis , pallets and pallets being transported out of smith falls, all across Canada and the world.
Capitalism and Social Licence
As we've seen in recent days with VW, regardless of a corporations primary status in an industry, its social status is the underlying foundation that allows it favor. When Tweed Marijuana Inc. was introduced to investors, prior to the IPO, Bruce and Chuck were doing their rounds in the media with forward looking statements on this Grand Corporate Idea they were planning to implement in the coming months. And voila 17 months later, we are here.
But how did we get here? Well, I propose it is because the officers of this corporation did what they told investors they set out to do, in earnest, nothing more, nothing less. The Board of directors have proven to be diligent in their business operations, staying on a legal path within the MMPR and striving for impeccable quality in customer and product relations. And here lies the foundation of Canopy Growth Corporation and its primary and favorable industry status.
With our giant economic neighbors to the south dabbling in recreational sales of cannabis and our outlaw siblings to the west blurring the lines between MMJ and RMJ, why would Canopy not cheat juuust a little; just enough to get ahead and maintain that industry edge? Because it would be a fatal error for the corporation. VW lost 36% MV in just 48 hrs: nearly 40 billion dollars. That market share disappeared somewhat because of the costs associated with making the recalls, but primarily because consumers, and investors ( Society as a whole) yanked its social licence. They lied to customers and cheated competitors.
Canopy does have a close equivalent I believe in Privateer Holdings. Diverse Brands positioned for a fast emerging market. But the Canopy Board of Directors and Investors have committed to only operating where the market is Federally permissible, no matter how lucrative it may seem, in order to maintain a good relationship with regulators and keep investors confidence. By doing this, the right thing, Canopy has set them-self apart from other players, in the MMAR for example, that disregard how the public view their operations within communities. Canopy is maintaining its social licence which will in turn enable this upstanding corporation and the upstanding individuals it employs to capitalize financially.
No one wants to live in a society where people and businesses are willing to do 'whatever' to make money, if that means undermining the very society it wishes to be a beneficiary of. The positive relations in the community and the forthcoming openess with investors has identified Canopy Growth Corporation as a National and International Brand that governments, Regulators, Doctors, Patients and other companies in the industry can trust and want to do business with readily. That is the Brand. That is why Canopy Growth Corporation will succeed, along with successful business plans and execution. IMO
Its too fascinating to get into one post eh! Botanists and Horticulturalist Dream.
I found the New Web page and the layout/Format is... get this Tweed/ Canopy-ish as well. (We're allowed to speculate, right?)
http://www.indoorharvest.com/
Is it just me , or does the New Indoor Harvest Logo look very Tweed/ "Canopy-ish"
Very different than the one they used pre-Tweed RnD partnership.
New Logo - August 2015:https://www.facebook.com/Indoorharvest/photos/a.277674279007403.61543.277674132340751/836792243095601/?type=3&theater
Old Logo - March 2013:https://www.facebook.com/Indoorharvest/photos/a.277674279007403.61543.277674132340751/386317844809712/?type=3&permPage=1
Although INQD looks like a very expensive growing platform, indoor by nature is expensive, energy intensive. Lights, Electricity, Water. I think the idea of the partnership RnD was to find both savings and value added results in yield and quality. The full breadth of the current research should be complete this December, so all the questions will be answered some time after, weather its worth it or not. I really like the idea. Especially the ability to go vertical, and the ability to do "interesting " things with strains in a controlled environment. Just the cost base seems unsure. Without CFP, can the corporation continue with expensive build outs?
Notice the Price Menus in the photo:
Blackberry Kush $12 :. seems like a bit more than $2 a gram. Untested. Unregulated, untaxed. Sick Canadians cant afford that
Tweed: Kosher Kush $12, Bubba Kush $9. OG Ksh $6: tested, regulated, taxed, 20% discounted for compassion pricing and further more for lift review, tax deductible, Air miles and Aeroplan points. Doorstep delivery
This pros and cons thing is difficult
Agreed!
Before the reverse takeover and IPO when Chuck and Bruce were planning this Corporation, the shares were at $0.25. A little digging can see what the initial investments were. Mind you, it was just am idea then. Now its a dominant player nationally and emerging player globally in an industry that, as was mentioned on this board is infantile and only just beginning to crawl. Tweed has built tremendous value in only 17 months! My baby boy is 14 months and man do they grow quick. Just the day to day goings on can be a bit of work, just like a corporation.
How does the saying go? Dont throw the baby out with the bath water.
So I can imagine when my boy is running, I hope CGC will be running too!
Check out @TweedInc's Tweet: https://twitter.com/TweedInc/status/644503585305272320?s=01
add up the shares from the financing at 2.15, the Bedrocan deal and Medcann. Off the top guess is 40million shares
