Estimated Prophet - Lemmings
Is this true?
"ADAPTATIONS
When there are too many lemmings in one area and not enough to eat, they migrate to find food. Many drown by running into the rivers and lakes."

Does anyone else feel like downside acceleration may be worse than ever if the market breaks down further. I don't think the broker's "buy and hold" is going to sit well with near term retirees.
One of my indicators is that my toll free business line is an 800 prefix. Fidelity has an 888 prefix on the same 7 last #'s as mine. Whenever the market tanks I get up to 15 wrong number calls a day! "Hello, I need to talk to someone about my account". I think this time I will ask them "why" and see what they say.
I am watching 1181 on the S&P and 10,218 on the DOW.

I sent this email 5 minutes ago. I will report if I get an answer.
"Dear Mr. Sporns,
I am an individual investor that concentrates on microcap companies, and have invested in the stock of HQ Sustainable Maritime. I read the attached press release on September 6th. I have a very influential friend that lives in Seattle and is interested in visiting your new offices and helping a large group of individual investors understand your business. Would you please furnish the phone number and address of the new office and perhaps the name of someone that could meet with my friend. I will forward the information to him and let him schedule the appointment himself.
Thanks in Advance!

SEATTLE, WA--(MARKET WIRE)--Sep 6, 2005 -- HQ Sustainable Maritime Industries, Inc. (HQ) a Delaware corporation engaged in integrated aquaculture and aquatic product processing, announced today that it has approved the expansion of the functions of its International Sales and new corporate offices in Seattle.
In addition to its International sales staff as well as the North American based senior management, the Company will diversify its sales strategy allowing the sale to retailers and service industry outlets of boxes of its products as opposed to the shipment of containers of products as is currently the case. Management believes that this higher margin business will add at least 15% profitability to its current sales. The Offices in Seattle will serve as well to import other seafood products so as to provide to its US clientele a more complete range of products.
Said Norbert Sporns, CEO of HQSM, "The new HQSM offices in Seattle will further vertically integrate our sales allowing our message to go more directly to important ultimate consumers of our products who do not currently accept delivery of container loads of products. This will play hand-in-hand with new branding and market education initiatives which will be announced shortly."
Jim WI - HQSM
I can't get the HQSM website to open. I looked for the address over the weekend and couldn't find it. I will email and see if I get any response.

I can’t wait for your report after visiting the new corporate headquarters of HQ Sustainable Maritime Industries Inc. I will try to find the address and get you a Mapquest map. This will go down as one of the most creative, immaginative, far fetched pr's I've ever read.

This is aimed directly at Bobwins:
"To Seattle and Beyond: The move of our corporate offices to Seattle in the coming weeks is an endorsement of that community's recognition of quality in seafood products. The Pacific North West is a hub of seafood imports and home to a young mobile health conscious buying public intent. This same public understands and supports public companies with our profile and we intend to grow together. Having our corporate office there as well provides us with direct investor relations for US investors many of whom are from this region. The lessons learned in this region will help the company fine tune its message for other markets in the US and abroad."
jtomm HQSM I am not wasting any more time with this company.
I can't verify ANYTHING of substance. Everything is a mystery and if you really dig in the 10Q's and K's these guys bought and sold companies to themselves! There are way too many quality companies to invest in that have helpful, LIVE people that actually answer direct questions LIVE on the spot. I am moving on, I just hope everyone on this board does a good job on their DD and doesn't get lazy.
If I'm wrong about this I'm willing to eat a huge slice of "humble pie"!
Maybe Bobwins will swing by the new Seattle office and chew the fat with the new staff and report back to us!

"Stocks Move Higher As a Sharp Drop in Oil Prices Encourages Buying on Wall Street"
"NEW YORK (AP) -- A sharp drop in oil prices encouraged buying Tuesday on Wall Street, with stocks rising even as a number of companies warned of profit shortfalls and higher costs, some of which could be passed on to consumers.
Investors welcomed the latest drop in crude futures after the government said it could release heating oil reserves to help combat higher heating prices as winter approaches. A barrel of light crude was quoted at $63.25, down $2.22, on the New York Mercantile Exchange."
Is a drop of $2.22 to $63.25 a SHARP drop? Unbelievable that someone gets paid for a headline like that!

Housing Bubble Busted, Peak Oil
My Dad sent this link to me. I feel it is a must read for this board. It will make you think about the housing bubble and people bailing out of commitments to buy 3500 square foot houses 40 miles away from their work. They can't afford the heating and air conditioning costs, nor $70.00 fill ups for the gas pig SUV's. It also talks about "Peak Oil" and what that could mean for us in the near future. High energy prices may be the straw that breaks the housing boom's back.

WADE - I suggest loading up on VPHM
If you want to invest in a company that has nothing to do with the general consumer economy, conspicuous consumption, real estate, oil, gas, hurricanes, interest rates, etc. I suggest VPHM.
Read these stories from last week:
http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&q=c+difficile&spell=1&tab=wn&ie=UTF-8&scoring=....
The C. Difficile outbreak is reaching epidemic levels. I just read that the spores can hang around for YEARS!
Here are the headlines from last week around the world:
"New superbug alert Sep 25 2005
Lucy Ballinger, Wales on Sunday
A NEW superbug is five times more rampant in Welsh hospitals than MRSA. Clostridium difficile, known as C.difficile, often has no ill effects but it can cause diarrhoea, serious illness and even death."
"Fears over hospital bug deadlier than first thought
08:10am 23rd September 2005, A deadly strain of hospital bug Clostridium difficile is up to 23 times more virulent than other forms of the infection, scientists announced.
In a study published in The Lancet they showed a genetic mutation meant it could produce many times more toxins than other forms of the bacterium."
"Quebec’s C. difficile strain 'hyper' toxic
By CBCUnlocked
Updated: Sep 23, 2005, 07:49
The nasty strain of C. difficile that triggered an epidemic in Quebec hospitals produces much more toxin than other strains, scientists have found."
Viropharma's Vancomycin is the only 100% effective treatment for the new strain of C. Diff. Sales are skyrocketing and they are increasing the price. In addition, Viropharma has several compounds in various trials and phases looking for another winner.
You get a low risk, high quality, money making pharma company, with the potential to explode regardless of the general economy. Current forword P/E around 20 WITHOUT factoring price increase affect, more like 15.
I put my money wear my mouth is as VPHM has swollen to 35% of my holdings. I share your concernes on the general economy.
Good Luck.

2004 Microdiamond Recoveries for Kimberlite 147
=======================================================================
Vancouver, British Columbia - Sept. 23, 2005 - Kensington Resources
Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:KRT) (the "Company") announces that it has received
from the operator, De Beers Canada Inc., microdiamonds results for
eight coreholes targeted on Kimberlite Body 147 during the 2004-2005
program at the Fort a la Corne Diamond Project in Saskatchewan. The
principal objective of the 2004-2005 program on Kimberlite 147 was to
acquire representative kimberlite and diamond information for
construction of a new geological model and to assess the potential for
higher grade zones within the body.
"We are very pleased with the results from Kimberlite Body 147," states
Robert A. McCallum, President and CEO of Kensington Resources Ltd. "A
substantial number of diamonds including three larger stones were
recovered indicating a high stone density and potential enrichment in
this body. De Beers will utilize these results in a grade forecast,
which then will enable us to make decisions on the suitability of
delineation drilling and minibulk sampling for recovery of
macrodiamonds."
The 147 kimberlite occurs in the main cluster of the Fort a la Corne
Kimberlite Province and is located on the eastern side of the
148/147/120/220 volcanic megacluster with the 220 and 148 kimberlites
situated directly to the west and southwest. Eight coreholes
intersected 855.38 m of kimberlite from a total meterage of 1,740.0 m.
The top of the first kimberlite intersection ranged between 96 to
106.28 m depth from surface and the bottom of the last kimberlite unit
ranged from 181.22 and 221.82 m. Kimberlite thicknesses varied between
74.94 and 125.68 m.
A total of 2,432 microdiamonds were recovered from 515.20 kg of
kimberlite core in 63 samples utilizing caustic dissolution methods at
the Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC). Microdiamond recoveries were
audited and individual stone sizes calculated by experts at the De
Beers Kimberley Microdiamond Laboratory (KMDL) in South Africa. Only
microdiamond data from the SRC are reported here. Summaries of diamond
recovery by kimberlite drillhole and by sieve category are shown in
Tables 1 and 2.

2 equals Stones with at least one axis greater than 0.5 mm in length
3 equals Due to the wide variance in sample mass per historical
drillhole, the average stones/10 kg for the historical results was
weighted by the mass of individual samples (a simple average of
drillhole values was calculated at 21.4 stones/10 kg)
Microdiamond recoveries in 2004 were significantly higher than
historical recoveries which are shown at the bottom of Table 1. At
47.21 stones/10kg, the average stone density of the 2004 recoveries is
more than double that of the historical recoveries and is actually
much higher if the 128 microdiamonds measuring less than 0.075 mm are
not included in the historical tally. In comparison, fewer stones
larger than 0.5 mm were recovered per kilogram of sample during the
2004 program. Microdiamonds recovered from the 2004 program will be
combined with all suitable historical diamond results and submitted to
Mineral Resource Management (MRM) of De Beers for grade forecasts of
commercial-sized diamonds based on statistical and graphical treatment
of the data.

Argyll - The Ram has 196,000 miles on it and was breaking down often. The Jeep is over 1500 pounds lighter so way less iron than buying a new truck. I only need a truck a few times a year. I also told my neighbors they can use my truck when they need it, also a ploy to not have them complain about it sitting on the driveway!
Lots of ideas on how to save energy. Nice to have made the money on energy stocks to invest in saving energy.
Kipp
Sold NGS, PAR.OL Using $ to Conserve Energy
I took long term profits on NGS and PAR.OL last week. I decided to use some of the profits to change some of my energy PIG ways.(I used the rest to buy EOG and VPHM call options)
First, I purchased a Jeep Liberty CRD turbo diesel to replace my 1995 4x4 Dodge Ram. I have put about 500 miles on it and it got 29 mpg on the first tank. The Ram got 12mpg and is parked on the driveway because nobody wants to give me squat for it.
Jeep Liberty CRD link if you are curious: http://www.jeep.com/crd/index.html
Next, I hired a plumber to tear out 2 40 gallon natural gas hot water heaters from the basement and replace them with an "on demand" Rinnai hot water heater. The Rinnai bolts to the wall and only turns on when the tap is turned on. To date I have been burning gas to hold 80 gallons of water hot 24/7 365 days per year. CRAZY! The added bonus is the space saving I get when finishing the basement. Here is the Rinnai site, it is a Japanese CO. and makes very efficient products: http://www.rinnai.us/products/index.asp
Now I am researching corn/pellet stoves. Don't laugh, you can heat your house with corn for about $3.00/day! I am looking at putting a Harman Corn/Pellet Stove in the basement. Check out this link and tell me you don't wish Harman Stove Company was a microcap OTC traded company. These guys are going to make serious cash: http://www.harmanstoves.com/features.asp?id=26
I think we are going to see higher energy prices for a long time. One thing the dooms day guys don't take into consideration in their models is what level of conservation occurs with higher prices. Technology and innovation kicks in and products like I mentioned above offer ways to use less. I drive about 18,000 miles a year and I am going to burn 900 gallons less gas this year than last. If I drive the jeep for the same 10 years I drove the big Ram truck I will burn 9,000 gallons less fuel. That is 2.25 tanker truckloads! I have been a gas PIG for the past 10 years!
ARE ANY OF YOU GUYS DOING ANYTHING TO CONSERVE ENERGY?

I was unable to find any physical offices at the addresses provided. No live sales people, receptionist or anyone. This was 6 months or so ago. Go in with eyes wide open. Good Luck.

Cleverox, you are bucking a strong tide. Take a look at the path of Rita, look at what 135+ mph winds and a 20+ foot storm surge do to ANYTHING on land. Then pull up a map of major gulf ngas pipelines. I think you should extend your price recovery time line at least until the fall shoulder season of October '06.

Epex has hedges coming off and will get full price for future gas sales. Most big gas companies are currently locked in to $8 and $9 gas contracts.

Rrainman - I'm with you!
I have been in DNO and PA Resources since you started pounding the table, THANKS!!! I don't ever remember anyone burning a Norwegian flag, nor anyone chanting "Death to Norway"!
I also have Bob's Rival from Canada, AYE. Also U.S. EPEX should do well over the winter.
Only other sector I am in currently is healthcare with big block of early VPHM leading the way.
Shaping up to be my best year ever in the market, and it's directly attributable to this outstanding group of investors that are willing to share.

What happened to Kozuh?
With gas going nuts you would think he would be telling us about his aroma!
