One pic on that directory caught my eye: dnaforensic.gif
Lagging somewhat on the DD progress lately due to my job, can someone verify that DNA Phenomics has always listed forensics as a part of their repertoire? TIA
Theo
That's right, I do now remember someone suggesting that correlation... thanks Chris.
OK Straw thanks for the heads-up, however LOL! the issue was not who made the original statement, but, rather, whether the statement was valid or made in jest. I still am of the impression that it was made in jest on not a true prophetic disclosure unless someone {?66fan} can substantiate otherwise? In other words, is there anyone else who "knows" or has reason to believe that there will be news/PR/etc., on or by the First of October?
Theo
That's what I thought- TD just being cute.
I did see several references to the 10/1 date but thought it was being carried on in jest by TD. Kewl...
Ustacud,
"Folks said to wait till 10/1 and we'd see some good stuff."
My impression is that that statement was said in jest without substance. Perhaps someone else can elaborate?

CMT: Lehman Raises Capex Forecast on Telecom Equip Ind
MONDAY , SEPTEMBER 22, 2003 09:18 AM
Lehman Brothers kept its Neutral rating on the Telecom Equipment industry and raised their capital expenditure forecasts for the global mobile and handset markets. The firm also kept NOK at Equal Weight and QCOM & RIMM at Overweight. Lehman raised their global mobile capex forecasts for 2004 from (1%) to 3% and for 2005 from (1%) to 0% growth. Viewing subscriber growth in US and in India, Lehman raised their 2003 global handset market estimate from 440M to 450 and 2004 from 475M to 485M. The analyst added that their GFK data from Europe is indicating 12-13% handset unit growth in 2003-first half as consumers consider a move to color and camera-enabled devices.
The firm noted that capex-to-sales ratios in Europe appear to have bottomed and several key carriers (led by Hutchinson and Vodafone) appear to be planning for a steady increase in their investments in new 3G networks.
Sorry no can take credit ;) This is a Steve {SSP} find from awhile back...

SPAL- End of most recent quarter this week. Sales for the six months ended June 30, 2003 increased $3,087,106 or 61% to $8,147,530 from $5,060,424 for the six months ended June 30, 2002. Operating expenses for the six months ended June 30, 2003, increased $68,700 or 2.4% to $2,886,538 from $2,817,838 for the six months ended June 30, 2002. As an aside- for those of you who might consider the trading in the foreign conversion as a means of diversity- the Company's operations are located in Spain and the value of the Euro, as compared to the United States Dollar, has substantially increased (approximately 25%-30%) from the prior year.
Theo
I dunno Team. One thing is for certain- the company since August has been looking for a large infusion of cash by the looks of Tony's Form 4 filings and the onset of the PP. Wonder why the sudden need to raise such a substantial amount of cash so quickly??

Can someone clear up a programming question for me?
When I use the page info on any link from the DNAP website, it tells me that it was last modified May 01, 2003 and it expires September 30, 2003. Is having a "true" expiration date common? I mean I've used that feature for years now to ascertain whether or not a link was potentially useful based on how recent the "update" was. But, I can't remember ever having an expiration date so close- usually it's set for 2025 or some other long range time frame. TIA
Theo
I've been pretty much quiet here on iHub as I work during "normal" hours of the day so I miss most of what transpires until I read these posts at night.
Arch, if you really feel that threatened on this board then you need to travel more in your motor-home. The crap that gets exchanged through-out the day here and on RB is not about determining whose right or wrong- it's egos. I see one group claiming to be dedicated longs whom I get the impression are looking for a board where the moderators have absolute control over what is printed. It's not here OR RB folks. And then there is the "other" group whose purpose, whether veiled or not, appears to me mostly about seeing just how far they can "push someone's button" before they get a response. For cryin out loud people you're playing into their hands!! And I don't buy for one second that "I'm protecting my right/ my investment/ my etc.,..." BS! This board does NOT and WILL NOT control the price of this stock long term period. I've seen some very clever responses to those posters from others who post a link that answers the basher's relentless questions and obvious attempts to goad those of you who respond with deep emotion. I admit it I get angry too. TOX pisses me off no end when he gets on that stupid soap-box of his and starts spouting his political leanings, but, I know it's a losing battle here on a "open" chat thread as opposed to a dedicated debate forum so I do the only logical thing- I place him on IGNORE. I would suggest the rest of you do as Doug as stated and begin to use that feature as well. Ihub does NOT allow indiscriminate editing of posters posts- PERIOD. It's not those of us that have taken the responsibility of moderating this thread who call the shots here- iHub MADE THE RULES. WE follow them.
I have no problem whatsoever reading Ming's, W2P's, Doug's, {and others) DD posts even when interspersed with the all the "OT" crap. None/nada. And it doesn't bother me. {Ihub's 10 messages at a time thingy is nice} In any event, why is it so hard for some of you to ignore the goading? For example- my investment is STILL the same whether I respond to TOX or not. Clarify a point, answer the question and etc., but, refuse to engage those that you deem to be trouble-makers and move on. I'm sorry Arch, but my investment also remains the same whether you "fight" with them here or on RB and also remains the same whether you "win or lose". Do you understand what I'm saying? Pick and chose your battles, but, these wastelands we post messages on are not worth ulcers that some of you are working up. That's too bad to- especially you Arch, I really enjoy your exploits on the road. I live vicariously through you to a certain extent reading and following your travels waiting in anticipation for the day I too can roam the earth either in a similar home on wheels, or, my passion- flying my plane. But, I refuse to "take sides" in a dispute that is so blatantly and obnoxiously inane. Good luck to you. I truly wish you well.
For the rest of you, why do you assume that we (longs) must "protect" the newbies?? Were any of you {when you were a "newbie"} truly that stupid that you couldn't read a weeks worth of posts and get a "feel" for who was more trustworthy or at least knowledgeable? Sorry folks, if potential investors are buying on chat room thread banter alone, they deserve their fate. Hard and cruel, but, tough nuggies. I do not subscribe to the idea that "newbies" are that naive nor do I think they are given enough credit. People need to take responsibility for their actions and that includes buying equities. It is not MY job to protect newbies. It may be my obligation to post my opinion and offer what I consider to be sage advice, but, neither I nor any of you can be responsible for other's {newbies} actions. Therefore I purpose that you post your thoughts/humble opinion, but, quit making it such a personal quest. We all have to make up our minds and be responsible for ourselves.
O.K. I've said my piece and it was a cathartic experience. Guess I'll hit the sack cause tomorrow comes fast for those of us who can only dream that DNAP will offer up an early retirement opportunity.
Theo
Obviously not finalized OR ready for dissemination........yet :):)
Theo
Looking at today's chart, it appears that someone took a position (100K shares) right at the close. Traders getting an early jump on next month's "Q" perhaps?
Quite the spread! I put in an order for 5K at .30 and it took TWO partial trades to get filled... If this baby has another good "Q", it is gonna rock imo.
Theo
Tidbits I find interesting from the "Q":
(1) WOW! We even pay the tax on our new officers compensation. I'm in the wrong business-
"In addition, the Company shall pay to the Executive a cash bonus in the amount necessary to compensate the Executive for any federal or state income tax payable on the stock compensation granted hereunder, taking into account the additional tax payable on the cash bonus provided hereby. Such cash bonus shall be paid by the Company at the earliest time after such tax is incurred that the Board of Directors, in its reasonable discretion, determines the Company can pay such bonus without
placing itself in a precarious cash position, but no later than the time at which the Employee is required to pay the tax."
(2) Tampa Bay not the only entity with 144s still hanging-
"DNAPrint acknowledges that it has previously issued to Luchese approximately 2,700,000 restricted shares of DNAPrint common stock and acknowledges that such shares are validly issued, fully paid and non-assessable. These shares will have piggy back registration rights on any registration statements filed by DNAPrint through January 31, 2004, otherwise DNAPrint agrees
to act promptly after January 31, 2004 to permit Luchese to trade these shares in compliance with the requirements of Rule 144."
But he simultaneously takes part in a "Private Placement"
"Simultaneously with the execution of this Agreement, Luchese has delivered to Athena Capital Partners $160,000 in immediately available funds to be invested on Luchese's behalf in a private placement of DNAPrint common stock to be managed by Athena Capital Partners (the "Private Placement")."
(3) WOW! Monica gets a huge freakin break:
The Executive will be awarded 20,000,000 shares of DNAPrint genomics, Inc. common stock. The parties acknowledge that such shares have an approximate value of $204,000 based on the following underlying assumptions:
o The average closing price of the Company's common stock over the past 20 trading days was $0.017.
o The application of a 40% discount to reflect lack of
marketability is appropriate, yielding a per share valuation of $0.0102 per share.
o Applying $0.0102 per share to 20,000,000 shares yields a
valuation of $204,000.
Based on today's current pps (.07), she's worth an approx 1.4 mil... Gabriel and Hector are also both enjoying similar appreciation. Of course, incentive is a powerful tool.
(4) Lastly and sadly, I see that Tampa Bay is still holding
shares- 14 mil (as of June 30, 2003) Just can't seem to shake those folks...
Just items that caught my eye seeing how the rest of you have already picked this "Q" over :) Sure is costing us enough; hopefully we find out soon about an already "inked" deal(s) making these new (as of May 16, 2003 according the the "Q") employees earn their compensation.
Theo
"Q" released today. In addition to thread header:
" Sales prospects for the balance of the year are encouraging as evidenced by July revenues being in the order of $250,000, which is above the Company's informal monthly target of $200,000."
Hopefully a trend...
Theo
Bignbullish,
I don't think the current pps has anything to do with expectations of a good or poor "Q" imo. I know what you are asking, but, in reality, the current pps {and subsequent stability} is based solely on traders. In fact, it is my conjecture that the "Q" will only serve to confirm what we as investors already know/suspect- we ARE growing. More than that is gravy. What is really putting pressure on the pps are the traders jockeying for positions because of the recent DDing {and subsequent confirmations i.e., Baton Rouge} taking place this year. For a "penny" stock, you sure don't see the fluff PRs from IR trying to pump the price up. Yet, we are still finding ourselves "known" around the world. Now, just HOW that is going to play out is what the traders are speculating on. No one wants to be left out so they {traders} are forced to take positions in front of ANY possible news- even the "Q". That is what, imo, has kept us from falling back sub nickel- not the actual content of the "Q". Price predictions? Not from me... sorry. I learned a long time ago that is ammo for those whose only interest here is to butt egos.
All the above is strictly my opinion- I don't know anything cause if I did, I wouldn't still havta WORK for a living...:)
Theo
GoldEagle,
Thanks, I always prefer the clarification especially if my interpretation contains biased "spin"...:)
Theo
W2P,
"...It is MHO, that we would not see DNAPrint's ADMIXMAP on DNA Phenomics website had a deal not been consummated. There are other plausible explanations for the lack of an announcement,... For products that may be partnered, the publication dates are set through the process of negotiation..."
Did not someone here recently receive an email from a principal of DNA Phenomics that stated something to the effect that "No comment regarding potential or on-going negotiations" in effect establishing a fairly strong likelihood of just such an event currently taking place?
Theo Love the "digging" that takes place here :)
Agreed Doug. In fact, at the original onset {2000}, conventional wisdom held that we {DNAP} were looking for any means of financial support to bolster our then NON-revenue producing coffers and the potential Malaysian grant was just one such avenue worth pursuing to rectify that situation. It's amazing what has transpired in the interim of the 2 years since. Now it appears that instead of DNAP looking for a corporate teat to nurse it along, we are instead growing tentacles to reach out further to feed ourselves independently. Yep, assuming we are reading the tea leaves with some semblance of accuracy, I like where this "global thingy" is headed.
Theo
Bag8ger,
"I have to believe, for some reason revolving around 9-11 which interfered with DNAPro getting the Malaysian grant,..."
Correct. Not only that, but, I.R.(?Craig Hall) made the statement akin that DNAP was no longer working towards that goal (for unspecified reasons) and it was Dr. Frudakis who substantiated the hypothesis in either an email reply, or, speaking to one of "us" in person {I can't recall which}, that it was indeed September 11 and the associated problems in Malaysia as a result that screwed the plans up and was no longer a viable option.
Does my heart good to know they didn't give up on their first attempt and are trying an end-around approach to implement their original"idea" which highlights and also gives credence to the tenacity of the leadership at DNAP imo...
Theo
Kgarner,
Last paragraph says it all doesn't it? :)
Theo
sorry for the double post
Took care of it :)
Man, you folks sure have been busy today! Love this board :)
My vacation is over- had to go back to work today so no posting til after hours :( Hopefully in the future DNAP will see to it that I don't have to work anymore...:):)
Theo
Arch, I especially like to read the comments...:)
Ustacud,
I'm not trying to promote the ignore feature here, but, I feel compelled to tell you that iHub has a wonderful feature that I wished RB had years ago and that is the "ignore replies" feature. That means not only can you ignore a particular poster, you can ignore all the replies posted to that individual from those posters who just can't seem to resist the temptation to respond. It always fried me when I clicked on a post and then found out it was a reply to an ignored poster on my list. Anyway, thought you might find it useful down the road- hopefully not on this particular thread! :)

FUENGIROLA, Spain, July 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Spantel Communications, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: SPAL - News), a provider of telecommunication services in Spain, reported today record financial results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2003.
Spantel Communications cited strong improvement in operating margins as it reported its second consecutive profitable quarter. Spantel earned $319,534 (Euro 279,460), or $0.015 cents a share, for the three months ended June 30 compared to a loss of $888,847 (Euro 777,372), or $0.04 cents a share, in the same period a year ago. Revenue for the quarter was $4,136,533 (Euro 3,617,748), from $2,812,102 (Euro 2,459,421) a year ago.
The operating margin for the second quarter was 46%, compared with 30% for the previous year's quarter. For the six months, the operating margin increased to 44% in 2003 from 30% in 2002. The increases reflect productivity and efficiency improvements implemented this year along with continued incremental margin improvement, one of Spantel's key financial objectives.
"We're extremely pleased with our results this quarter, Spantel's strong results were marked by continued revenue and earnings growth, and margin improvement as all areas met our expectations," said chief financial officer Cesar Martinez. "While we are actively investing in talent and products for current and future growth, we believe that our full-year results will easily meet our key long-term goal of growth."
Established in 1999, Spantel Communications, Inc. is an operator providing telecommunication services throughout Spain. The Company has had uninterrupted growth in its year-to-year results, and has achieved profitability in less than four years in a very competitive marketplace. The Company is headquartered in Fuengirola, Spain employing approximately 120 people and 50 authorized distributors throughout the country. Spantel currently has over 300,000 clients in Spain and continues to keep growing with a goal of becoming one of the major telecommunications operators in the country.

Spantel's actual revenues are derived in Euros, but reported in USD on all company filings. Investors should be aware that the USD amounts reported above have been affected by the dramatic swing in the exchange rate as the dollar is considerably weaker then it was one year ago. The exchange rate has been determined by the average currency price as of June 30, 2003.

Thanks Arch,
This sums it up nicely I think:
"Such stories lend strong support to the idea that targeted therapies make economic as well as medical sense--it's hard to imagine a better pick-me-up for the beleaguered drug industry than life-saving, premium-priced cancer quellers that patients take year after year."

ARKN .50 KEWL! :)
Yep, I've kinda figured since the Baton Rouge case that there would be or had to be some sort of forensics business "arrangement" in the works. Coupled with what you and the others have posted from the meeting, I'm not the least bit surprised. I'm speculating we'll probably hear something formal fairly soon IMO. Of course, you folks would/will have a better "feel" for the timing than I considering you all had "face time". :)
"We will be putting together partnerships with other companies to help us realize the power of our forensics program."
"Will" not "are trying to"... :)
novicetx,
"...he smiled and responded that he hadn't failed at anything he had attempted..."
Yep, if you don't trust his confidence, you {not you personally novicetx ;) }have no reason to be here. Like I've said before (many many times) as long as DNAP continues to develop and grow and make progress {regardless of form or fashion}, I will stick with it. I've never had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Tony, but, I did meet Zack and have to say that when I met him, I think he would've talked DNAP all day. I noticed his enthusiasm right from the start. This tells me that the "inner circle" all share the "vision" IMO.

This is the second time this statement has made me $$. First was ARKN and it still continues. I suspect that SPAL will catch more eyes come next week as well.
