Cookie margins will melt ice cream #NGTF
The CEO is currently keeping quite on the margins of both the NIghtfood ice cream and cookies that will be sold within the hotel vertical.
What do we know so far per the CEO in September 2021 about the ice cream margins?
"Our cost of goods is approx $1.40"
"we sell at wholesale to the distributor for $3.25"
How much is the cost of goods on a packet of cookies?
What is the wholesale price?
More information to come - but IMO the simple fact that Nightfood does not need to pay for cold storage for cookies or chips or candy will be a game changer in the margins.
And yes....those margins will be "taken to the bank!!!!"
Cookies Cookies Cookies!!
Nightfood CEO Sean Folkson announces at 2:58pm today that Nightfood Cookies are now "live" DTC on the companies website.
Wanna try them before they become IMO Oprah's "Red Eye Delight"? click the link below;
Nightfood Cookies Order Here!!!!!!
That’s exactly what “the market” will be saying in 6 months IMO.
My position is locked.
They are in the upcoming SEC filings…where else would they be?
Let's agree on what Hype is?
Hype is to promote or publicize (a product or idea) intensively, often exaggerating its importance or benefits.
I am a serious investor in the soon to be CATEGORY of Sleep-Friendly Nighttime Snacking.
And at the moment there is only ONE company that has a chance at being the KING of that CATEGORY.
Nightfood. #NGTF.
IF they land several more national hotel chains with their FIRST International Hospitality Company (IHC) then IMO the CATEGORY is BORN!!
Ready the last paragraph!!
Nightfood Ice Cream Challenging Leading National Brand in Hotel Pint Sales Just Months Into Launch, According to Impulsify POS Sales Data
Nightfood ice cream pints were introduced into national hotel distribution in May 2022 as the result of a successful 2021 pilot test with a leading global hospitality company. This Impulsify sales data aligns with information previously communicated to Nightfood management by their hospitality partner regarding Nightfood’s early success in hotel retail and upcoming plans for expansion into additional national hotel chains.

380+ hotels and counting
There is currently only one Nightfood product in distribution within the hotel vertical - Nightfood ICE CREAM. But that is about to change VERY SHORTLY. The expectation is that there will be PO's for the PrimeTime Chocolate Chip Cookies placed in the near future.
Sean has "shouted out" about as load as he can without PO's that the hotel "decision makers" have made it VERY clear that they would like multiple Sleep-Friendly Nightfood Snack formats in their lobby shops for their guests.
Everyone will see the TRUTH soon enough.
Proof.
SEC filing on August 29, 2022 – Nightfood Holdings, Inc. (OTCQB: NGTF)
"Nightfood sleep-friendly ice cream entered national hotel distribution in May 2022 through a relationship with one of the leading companies in global hospitality"
SEC filings are exactly that and.....
"The SEC can charge individuals and entities for violating the federal securities laws and seek remedies such as monetary penalties, disgorgement of ill-gotten gains, injunctions, and restrictions on an individual’s ability to work in the securities industry or to serve as an officer or director of a public company"
SEC’s Division of Enforcement conducts investigations.
Agree to Disagree
NGTF does not need "hype and Implications".
NIghtfood already has both the attention and buy-in of corporate level executives at two of the largest International hospitality companies in the world.
Nightfood is actually in the business of selling Sleep-Friendly Nighttime Snacks and is rapidly heading towards creating and becoming KING of that NEW category.
So we will just have to agree to disagree.
There can be only one!
Will it be this week or maybe next?
Nobody knows the day or the hour.....but we know it is coming.
Investors across the country have made it fairly clear that Hilton is the FIRST International Hotel Company to recognize (like decaffeinated coffee) the importance of offering their guests a Sleep-Friendly Nighttime Snack option in a number of formats.
Others have suggested that InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) have already "tested" and approved Nightfood within the lobbies shops of their 20 Even Hotels that were launched in 2012 with an emphasis on "Wellness".
Nightfood CEO has confirmed that there have been TWO successful corporate level tests since March of 2021.
Industry Standard is next people.......and then....well....they rewrite the playbook.
Some don’t see the stepping stones?
Many think Walmart was a huge FAIL….but being placed into over 1000 Walmart locations had an effect as far as I am concerned on the initial Hotel pilot test…but what do I know?
Keep going fellas!!!!
Everyone knows that Nightfood was unable to gain adequate traction or sales velocity in retail. With 400+ choices and not ability to have in store sampling your chances of being noticed is slim. Slotting fees, promotional costs, BOGO…all suck the life out of a “start-up”.
NOT THE CASE with the hotel vertical!!!!
NGTF is now in over 350 hotels (and a number of Grab &Go’s in Southern California).
The margin in these locations is AWESOME!
Just waiting for the next PR......
It is a GREAT SIGN?
Everyone knows that any time a person on this board resorts to anything from 2019 that we are getting closer to seeing Nightfood #NGTF succeed in their goal of becoming The KING of Sleep-Firendly Nighttime Snacking
The fact that Nightfood as a "start-up" continues to operate more than 3 years after producing their first pint of ice cream says a lot about the potential for the future.... IMO anyway?
We are getting closer every day to when the International Hospitality Companies (IHC) give Sean the proverbial "green light" to announce the partnerships that will IMO take Nightfood to the next level.
I am leaning heavily towards HILTON and IHG as the initial IHC's that have embraced the idea that carry the obligation to provide their guests with sleep friendly options.
IF Sean and his team have managed to secure corporate level partnerships to the level of "Brand Standard" then IMO the next 6-12 months is going to be HUGE!!
The cookies were NOT for sale.
They were placed for a "photo shoot" and the CEO explained this to those on the company SM board.
PO for these is likely IMO around the corner.
Sean posted a picture stating "just wanted to see how these looked at my hotel this morning. Not bad, huh??".
So what do you mean by "fake".
The cookies? The shelves?
What do you mean staged?
CPG - Proof of Concept - Just need ONE!!!
So I just spent 45 minutes talking with a CMO in the CPG space who works closely with Off White Design talking about Nightfood.
She concluded that IF Nightfood manages to land Brand Standard at just one of the 5 International Hospitality Companies that they will have Proof of Concept.
Once you have proof of concept in one hotel chain it is likely to trigger the tipping point.
Off White Design - NIghtfood Case Study
“And still NOTHING”
Not so sure I would call landing one (or more) partnerships with the largest hospitality companies in the world “Nothing”?!?
Some are focussing on profits (or lack of) while others focus on THE CATEGORY.
IMO the hospitality industry is calling for the option of Sleep-Friendly Snack Options for its guests…….I believe Nightfood will answer that call.
Looking forward to the next few PR’s
IHC Identity has yet to be released.....
and for good reason.
If NIghtfood doesn't sell, then why has one of the Top 5 IHC (after a 6 month pilot test) placed NIghtfood into a brand of 500+ extended stay hotels?
Something tells me the average investor has absolutely no idea of how difficult it is to gain placement as a brand standard in ANY hotel chain.
The hotel vertical will IMO be the catalyst to the creation of the Sleep-friendly Nighttime snack category.
Ever see snacks on sale in a hotel lobby shop?
2 pints for $8?
Maybe “buy one, get one free”?
Of course not!
Selling through hotels virtually eliminates the
three biggest margin killers in food & beverage:
• Slotting fees
• Promotional price discounts (on sale)
• Advertising
The result?
Hotels deliver significantly greater
profit potential than conventional supermarket
distribution due to the powerful combination of
higher price points and lower expenses.
IMO NIghtfood will be back in Walmart - but likely in several formats and not just ice cream.
Yes...most of the above content is from page 15 of NGTF of the Investor Deck.
Andy Haynes, VP of Strategic Growth at iDEAL Hospitality Partners
Looks like iDEAL Hospitality Partners has a new employee?
Andy Hayes spent 9 years at Avendra (with over 6 years at the Strategic Growth Director) and now he makes a switch to iDEAL Hospitality Partners and the main contact for Nightfood Cookies?
IMO is a fantastic development for Nightfood and their sales partner iDEAL.
Snowball is getting bigger......
Fresh Chocolate Chip Cookies!!
I don't trust people who say the phrase;
"let's be honest".....I mean what are you normally?
BTW the "diet market has already been established" didn't stop;
Skinny Girl Popcorn, Halo Top, and others from entering the "diet market".
NIghtfood as you know all too well is not entering the diet category.
They are creating and will soon to be the KING of the Nighttime Snack Category.
Time will tell.
Evidence of the relationship. Period.
Why would you consider a post that presents evidence of the NIghtfood Sleep-friendly Cookie production as hype?
Cookies - GPO - Airlines - It's a matter of time.
IMO we are getting closer to a PR on not only the FIRST IHC announcement - but also an additional MAJOR Distributor announcement.
There could even more details on an international airline deal?
Maybe those who doubt should check out the packaging in production for the cookies below;
Nightfood PrimeTime Chocolate Chip Packaging
Nightfood could soon be the Decaf Cookie at Double Tree?
I am someone who does not eat these amazing cookies from Double Tree unless it is with a morning coffee?
DoubleTree Signature, Warm Cookie
Imagine if there was a better option to eat before bed? Oh wait....there is...it is the NEW NGTF Cookie!!!
Some comments from the CEO of Nightfood SM Site 08/15/22.
Sean;
1. We’re adding new hotels every week and working to get more management companies and chains signed up.
2.This is a dynamic and non-linear process.
3. We will provide updates when rollouts are executed (or confirmed), and we have approval to make public
4. Interim dates, times, and numbers may vary from time to time but like the F&B person from one of the five global hotel companies said to me and Jill on our call Friday “I can see how this can be everywhere…all the chains will need to have it.”
Will that turn into placement in all their properties here in 2022? Will it turn into a big fat zero? Will they initiate a 6 (or 60) month test? Who knows?
I THINK we’ll be pretty much everywhere soon enough
I know some people don’t have faith or patience or inclination to sit tight as we move through the process, which is hard to predict and tricky to execute among employee turnover and rollout delays from multi-billion dollar hotel chains that are out of our control.
That’s why we built in what we believe was sufficient cushion with our 9 month target.
We are in properties from the 6 largest hotel companies in the US and things are continuing to progress.
It's certainly true that certain hotels took longer than expected, and may continue to take longer than expected.
It’s also true we could get a call at any point that we’re launching into thousands of new properties on a few weeks notice. That’s just the reality
Or they may not put us in at all
All I can do is speculate on much of that at this point (which I don’t think makes for a very exciting update )
We’re moving forward coming off two successful corporate level tests and working towards making our snacks industry standard
I believe we will get where we’re going and get there sooner than some people believe and slower than many others would want
This is a pretty big undertaking and I think things are going pretty well. And I understand if you disagree.
How about Nightfood Chip Ezzzzz
“Charts are voodoo when used to predict the future of a stock price”.
Are you using them to predict the stock price in the past?!? LOL
Vistar - Nightfood - Preferred or Exclusive Supplier?
Nightfood is not likely a preferred or exclusive supplier with Vistar
IMO they may well become preferred but unlikely to ever be exclusive.
With 56,000 hotels Nightfood will need to partner with a number of other distributors.
Hmmmm...go figure?!?
I would not under estimate the value of a corporate level partnership with one of the Top 5 International Hotel Company?
The “Who” is arguably irrelevant IMO. The fact that any one of the top 5 would spend 6 months evaluating a product in itself speaks volumes - let alone that they then made it “brand standard” for one of their chains?
Assuming sales at said properties (Homewood Suites) meet expectations….why would they stop with offering the product at only one chain?!?
Not sure how many hotel properties in each location - but with current supermarkets and the GrabScanGo included - Nightfood may well be close to 1000 locations.
Sean has stated in the past that each hotel sells as much as a supermarket. However the margins for each hotel property is significantly greater than a supermarket.
Supermarket involves slotting fees, BOGO, promotions etc etc.
Hotels - minimal advertising at most!
Nightfood needs another Extended Stay brand to be given the “corporate thumbs up”…..maybe Home2 Suites?!?
Having ANY of the Top 5 International Hotel Chains agree to place you as a Brand Standard is a MASSIVE “step in the door”….
