OK, thanks.
I am new to this site.
May I ask for recommendations on how to get started in these stocks? It's all a bit new to me.
1. Quantity guideline - number of shares one should purchase.
2. Money guideline - how much to risk?
3. How many stocks should one invest in at one time?
4. How does one know when to sell?
I read thru a lot of posts and these stocks seemed to jump out at me from the reading:
EXPH . . . ESSO . . . NSMG and . . . ANWM.
But does that mean I should get all four or concentrate on one?
Thanks for any and all input to a newbie.
Dave
Thanx!
Oh, OK, thanx!
This is all new to me.
They want to push the price down?
I'm in Brooksville, FL!
Just heard about this company.
Anyone know a realistic target price and date?
How many shares should one have to do well at current price?
Hopefully the markets have consolidated enough! I'm ready to start making some money, instead of losing. ha,ha
The I-Fund really took a beating yesterday.
7% in the G?! Why bother? You're trying to protect 7% of your earnings?
Dave
I see TS is touting a new company that is supposed to be better than NEOM! Any takers? I got the email message today. It took me about 30 seconds to figure out what the company was. I sometimes wonder if he does that on purpose? It's at 1.97 a share. That's how I first heard about NEOM, which I now regret!
Dave
Well, I'm not in the G and neither was I surprised! I only lost 5k in 3 days. But then I had made 17k in 40 days so how can I complain?! I certainly didn't lose any sleep. For now sticking with 100 in the I. The mid-term in the markets still looks good. I personally wouldn't hesitate to be in either the C or S but want to test the I a bit more.
I don't have a copy of the article, but if you can find the USA TODAY for Monday, May 8, it should be there.
Warren Buffett said Berkshire Hathaway will focus on making acquisitions outside the United States . . .
I'll try and get a copy.
It has really been a very nice 40 days, partly in the I-Fund and then 100% in the I-Fund. (From 50 to 75 to 100). It's almost embarrassing how much I've made. This month has been incredible. It may be speeding up my retirement!
I keep thinking there will be a pullback . . . but it just keeps going up. I'm in for the long haul either way (probably until August/September).
While the Dollar is not the only factor in the I, it certainly does play a key roll. On Monday the dollar was pretty flat and the two indexes I look at for the I-Fund showed quite a disparity. I actually expected a loss but was pleasantly surprised with a nice gain.
I expect the dollar to continue to fall. Warren Buffett had a comment the other day and made a very strong recommendation for international funds.
Super! I've heard of a number of people in the Chattanooga area that have had help with that problem. I don't know any personally so glad to hear the report.
It is XanGo mangosteen juice. The product is so powerful that there are a lot of look-alikes, many of them watered down. XanGo uses the whole puree fruit. In the lab it tested more powerful than 5 of the leading chemo drugs. The key is Xanthones. Go to pubmed.gov or com and type in mangosteen and xanthones. Mangosteen is the richest source of xanthones found in nature so far. A very, very powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer.
Before the company ever started, there were over 250 peer-reviewed research papers on the mangosteen fruit.
I'll put my web if that's OK.

I was sent a chart the other week. It showed support at 84.50-85.08 with a bounce to 86.50.
It showed the target as 81.99 (8/28) - 80.48 (10/04)
There is a product that is helping some people with their Ca. I know one individual who had 5 lesions on his liver and he is now ca free. Can't make claims; I take for ca prevention as it has actully been tested in the lab to be more powerful than 5 of the leading chemo drugs.
If interested let me know and how I might contact you.

Thanx! It was just a guess! I just felt like it had to pull back a bit.
For today the I-Fund gained right at .69%
I'm sure there will be up and down days but hopefully the up will outnumber the down.
As long as the dollar remains on the weak side, I'll probably stay in. If she starts getting a bit stonger, then will have to change the game plan. I'm at the point now where 1% move is some pretty serious money - either way.
Dave
Well, I'm 100% in the I-Fund starting today. We'll see what happens!?!?
Dave
S-Fund was flat; I-Fund lost about .68% so the plan worked pretty well, especially if the I-Fund goes up today.
You are correct! The I-Fund is roughly .94% gain today.
I decided, based on the big move today and the weakening dollar to put the rest of my money into the I-Fund. Therefore effective the COB Wedneseday I will have 100% in the I-Fund. It's purely a gamble that there might be a little pullback tomorrow.
Enjoy the ride whatever you decide to do.
Dave
Probably not a good day today to move into the I-Fund!
Dave
It's a puzzle to me. You may be thinking your moving into the I-Fund on a down day when it's actually an up day.
There was another nice day in the I-Fund with a gain of .65% (75% of my money).
However what is a bit disconcerting is the fact that the 2 funds I use to try and figure out what the I-Fund is doing were way off today! The one showed a slight loss and the other showed a slight gain - nowhere near the .65% that the TSP came up with. Any ideas?
The S was -.27%
When moving in and out of funds it's kinda nice to know where your fund is sitting at Noon eastern. You can do it with the C and the S, but the I???
Dave
OK, will do. Probably not today.
For what it's worth, the dollar may fall much lower. I'll see how things go, but right now I'm looking at going 100% in the I-Fund this week. I'm looking for a "down day" down and will move from 75% I-Fund to 100% I Fund (dropping the S-Fund).
It was but I like the way it ended. I'll keep riding the I-Fund for a while. I reached my target goal for the month so I'm pleased.
I remember well!
I remember one time my associate and I decided we were going to try and figure which months were the best in the C fund - stay in those and get out of the others. Well we were coming to December and history said it wasn't too good, so we decided to bail out. That month had the greatest gain of any month EVER in the C fund or any other fund and still holds the record I beleive - 14%. That pretty much cured us of trying to figure the markets.
The only thing I can tell you is that the people I pay tell me that the current upswing is continuing - and has been for sometime. The market is way too complicated for me and I don't even want to try and figure it out. I want to play golf! Until they tell me otherwise, I'll be in the I, the C or the S. I have missed out on way too much of the I so I'm trying to grab a little now.
The I had a .5% gain and the S a - .1% loss or thereabouts.
Take care.
Dave
Thanx!
Even tho the amount of money we make/lose is not posted until the morning, I recently discovered that they actually post the earnings for each fund in the evening. For example I was a bit surprised too, but noticed last evening that the I had gone from 19.96 to 20.02. From that I can work out the percentage of gain which came to about .31% if memory serves me right. If I had paid attention in Algebra I'm sure I could work it out faster than I do.
I pretty much knew last nite about how much I was going to show in profit today.
And you don't have to sign in on the TSP to get the earnings per share. It's on the main page before and anyone can access it. And if someone could tell me how to figure the percentage of gain/loss based on these figures, it would save me a bunch of time! I tried division but that didn't seem to come out right. I use trial/error method.
I am toying with the idea of 100% in the I-Fund and when we do get a pullback I'll look seriously at it. I have about 18 months or less left in TSP and I'm trying to get all I can. (I know they tell people where I am to be conservative). But the "risk" funds have served me well thru the years, so why change now.
Dave
I'm in for now. Looks like could be another good day today. I just ride out the pullbacks as long as mid-term is bullish.
I'll let you know when I jump ship but I don't see it happening for a while.
All TSP funds did not finish down. The I-fund showed a profit. Monday I moved 75% into the I-fund and the other 25% I have in the S-Fund. The S-fund took a little loss but the I actually gained so my total profit from yesterday was $315.13.
I base my short-term trading on the mid-term trend. The mid-term trend is still bullish, we are still in an upswing and so my funds will stay somewhere in the markets. Once I get the signal (and I pay for that service) that the mid-term has changed, then I'll move into the G. I made 6k last week, lost 1k on Monday and got a little back yesterday.
I firmly believe, having played with it now for 20 years, that the TSP is specifically designed so that you can't trade with it short-term, otherwise they would allow us to exit before the bell. Too much can happen between noon and 4.
