Same. I expect to be back. The Q1 comp and what it does for the TTM is going to be too juicy.
Out of everything in the 9s. Would guy back if we get down to around 7. If it doesn't it's been real gentlemen.
You can come be tortured by DMRC with me on the Yahoo boards if you want. Most likely 100x'er on the market right now in my opinion.
Unbeatable tech but a CEO who won't promote the stock. Sounds familiar...? But, board takeover/rejuvenation under way there in a big way.
May be back to normal by the end of today, but intraday could crazy. This is getting huge message volume on Stocktwits which is sort of the hype platform for things like this. People will trade the chart today and not be able to tell you what Virtra does as a company. float is small enough that anything's possible.
Picked up some on margin at $4.63 for earnings. Lucky timing.
Been an absolute bloodbath in SPAC land, up 50k in 6 months seems good, but hard to keep perspective when that includes down 80k in the last 1 month.
So could use a morale boost from a quick win here!
I wonder if people are worried about the scenario where your first two points are true but price doesn't come close to catching up.
We're above WRAP. Justice!
On utahstock12 note, the SPAC adventure came crashing down. Was up 200% in 6 months for full portfolio but gave a ton of that, well over half and counting, back in the last two weeks. Maybe some will find it's way back here to get up to full position.
It's notable though that one of the guys asking questions said that he has spoken to Bob on several occasions in the past and that Virtra was one of his larger positions. I wonder if that's what made Bob comfortable doing it. I also would love to know the target they missed out on.
Yes that slip of interest vs. potential interest was interesting. However, I guess it's not a surprise to anyone that there'd be interest there.
Well my theory about dead price until Q comes out was wrong. Thank goodness I kept half in (technically 59% even better!)
I sold about 50% of my position to free up additional funds to keep riding the SPAC train. It has been a very good decision so far.
My rationale was that this is purely a quarterly earnings growth play so I had a high likelihood of being able to accumulate gains for 3-4 months elsewhere then reassess if I wanted to put it back in.
Still not sure what I will do once they announce the date of the next conference call.
The only real risk was if THE BIG MILITARY CONTRACT finally hit while I was out. That's why I left in 50%. Otherwise I would have been 100% out in the interim.
WRAP buys NSENA VR. Basically for peanuts. I wonder if they were ever one of the targets Ferris was teasing.
Maybe they expect installations were still held up part of the quarter which would hit rev? The high estimate doesn't seem drastically far off to me
I'd have to check the other transcripts but 'tangible progress' in the military area and hearing about it in the 'next few quarters' or something like that is slightly more concrete than usual right?
Agree, the George Floyd original riot was 5/26 and nation wide protests were early June so there was less than a month of impact. Sales cycle probably such that maybe only one or two first movers from that event are reflected in the number. Could Q 3 orders be 10M?
Revenue should be terrible even if they had sales because they might not have been able to get on site to do a lot of the installs, right?
Analysts have
Mean Estimate: USD 2.0M
High Estimate: USD 2.9M
Low Estimate: USD 459K
So...if installations were business as usual then that would be a hopefully easy beat.
The activists are looking. I don't know what they're doing, but they're 100% looking and the action this week certainly suggests that they're doing something.
Did anyone save the letter? Looks like the post is deleted.
The lack of any sort of PR is mindboggling. Even to just toss out a fluff PR, keep your name out there. I'm holding out 1% hope that the plan was to wait for the end of the month then release something that says like, in the month of June we had more sales inquiries than in any month in company history.
I'm fearful they somehow think doing a little more twitter is the equivalent when basically no one follows them there.
Potential legislation cause a lull here? I was managing a town and going to buy a system, I would definitely not be doing so until I see if I can get a new federal grant to cover part of it.
Does that make sense? Could Q2 have a ton of leads but no one pulling the trigger?
The Attorney General, in consultation with the Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy and the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, shall develop and propose new legislation to the Congress that could be enacted to enhance the tools and resources available to improve law enforcement practices and build community engagement.

(ii) training and technical assistance required to
adopt and implement improved use–of-force policies and procedures, including scenario-driven de-escalation techniques;
There's also a section somewhere on use of force for people with various states of mental health like we just came out with the autism spectrum scenario.
How could they possibly fail at this point?
So true I follow WRTC who are in a similar spot to Virtra on this and they seem to be on a news show every day. And some days you can see the stock move as the actual segment airs. Their marketing person is either feckless or being told not to, but based on the twitter trying to get in touch with those journalists I'm unfortunately leaning toward the former.
Agree that this means something has to be up. Otherwise the insiders vs. the new issuance are counterproductive, right? If they want to raise $, hold off on the insider registration so buyers are less spooked. If Ferris wants $ hold off on the offering so threat of dilution doesn't tank price.
Can confirm this is happening on eTrade.
It has to be a win. I was expecting to hear oh we would have hit it except for the timing of certain orders....
Q4 Rev for Annual Increase
If the trailing nine months is $2,726,820 behind, and prior Q4 was $2,584.429 then their big push is to get appx. 5.3M done in this Q4.
Right?
I saw a few comments about 7M for this upcoming Q4 based on the line about recognizing the majority of Q3 bookings, but I think those are using an optimistic view of 'majority'
Flipped some at 3.15, expect to get back in sub 2.50 today.
As someone mentioned, if this is going to happen with every PR and the PR contents are public several days prior..... then that's shooting fish in a barrel. (Then I'll probably load up next time and it will go sub 2 the next day instead or something)
If someone's asking a question, ask what the rev would have been without the delays. He's making it like it's such a big deal, but unless these were million dollar deals the period still wasn't great.
Absolute disappearance of public contracts or company PRs with sales info, even if they did it about a package of them like the 3 police stations one a while back, create a situation where there is no floor on how bad a quarter might be. Backlog figure and discussion gives a little insight, but not a ton.
I have bought a little more, but am orders of magnitude below your holding level.
you said yourself though that the takeover guy you talked to wasn't confident he could get the votes, so Ferris doesn't have control but at least has enough shares to fight someone off.
I'm a hack and even I got the competitors in my article! "These challengers include Cubic Defense Systems, part of Cubic Corporation (NYSE:CUB), and Meggit (GBX: MGGT) both much larger companies."
As a matter of not strictly tooting my own horn, I'm not a buyer here because I'm wary of the weak Q4 even if it is somewhat improved compared to Q4 prior year.
In the latest PR the one thing that was encouraging was "We’ve already begun selling STEP to eager customers," so maybe that newly captured demand will start showing up in Q1
Hello from the past. Do you think Q4 will have better earnings or strictly better revenue?
According to the call they're going to recognize at least 50% of the 6.8M backlog but that's only a guarantee of top line.
Why PR this today if it was clearly on govtribe two weeks ago? That does make me nervous about the distraction angle a little. Or does the gov have some sort of embargo power where they could have limited the PR timing?
I'm dreading this being used as an excuse for a fart of a quarter:
"Now we do expect that right now once in a while we do have situations where the product is produced and ready to go to the client and then the client has a situation, maybe the room is not ready and so they have to push us back to a delivery at a later date,"
What I mean is it’s not like you can take all bookings in a year as revenue. You’re not going to recognize what you book in q 4 so it’s disengenuous for him to be talking like rev q1 plus bookings accrued for now through June can just be doubled to project full year revenue.
If full backlog to be recognized in 2018 how late into year do we think they can receive orders and still sneak it into this fiscal year?
He's really pushing the idea that they're basically at $12 million with lots of time to go but that only makes sense if they've got many more months of revenue to gain for outstanding contracts to still be signed.
Hahahaha made me look.
I received a brief reply this evening that said he would reach out. I included your email so I'm assuming it would be that way rather than via this board. Good luck pitching and/or deciding whether you are comfortable with him + his firm.
He sent me a list of greatest hits during initial contact which included a senior living company and a medical imaging company, but I have no idea what I'm supposed to publicize so I'm not going to give out much more. Obviously the attempts have been disclosed since these are public companies, but who knows if he wants people knowing that he sometimes solicits the advice of random seekingalpha authors.
Also I'm sure that beyond his greatest hits there are misses. I'm not trying to create any sort of narrative about a white knight to come in and make everyone rich, just a potential interested party. I'd not be surprised if he just says he can't do anything OTC.
Seeking board seats
Hi, I'm the guy who wrote the VTSI article on SeekingAlpha a while back. I am considering reaching out to an industry contact who, after reading an unrelated article, gave me something of a wish list should I ever come upon another opportunity for him. He runs a small fund that specializes, more or less, in finding good companies with pissed off shareholders and then forcing his people onto the board.
I haven't been keeping as close a watch on this company as many on this board, (I purchased a few shares a little after publishing the article but you all have orders of magnitudes more than me and I am not a financial professional) but have watched it slowly decline while this board grows continually more frustrated.
Anyway, I don't know if this person will stay away because it's not on a major exchange, just think the business is not any good, or even reply to me at all.
I'm posting here preemptively because I was curious what % of holders here could be mobilized and who if anyone can give a cliff notes on the demands of this board/issues that the company is doing a poor job of addressing.
Also, if you're a big shareholder and want to make your info accessible to this person should he decide to respond to my inquiry feel free to message me your info. On the prior contact, he asked me a bunch of questions I was nowhere near prepared to answer so it could be useful to have someone with deeper knowledge.
