Lockheed Martin Corp. Stock Rises Friday, Still Underperforms Market
Shares of Lockheed Martin Corp. LMT inched 0.83% higher to $433.52 Friday, on what proved to be an all-around positive trading session for the stock market, with the S&P 500 Index SPX rising 1.06% to 3,825.33 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA rising 1.05% to 31,097.26. This was the stock's second consecutive day of gains. Lockheed Martin Corp. closed $46.47 short of its 52-week high ($479.99), which the company achieved on March 7th.
The stock underperformed when compared to some of its competitors Friday, as Boeing Co. BA rose 2.28% to $139.84, Northrop Grumman Corp. NOC rose 1.63% to $486.37, and General Dynamics Corp. GD rose 1.18% to $223.86. Trading volume (1.3 M) remained 8,182 below its 50-day average volume of 1.3 M.
