sirius,
Along the same lines, I was wondering if anyone at the shm saw and/or spoke with Rick Searfoss? I'm hoping he's been active behind the scenes doing some high level networking and presenting because has been keeping a rather low "public" profile hasn't he? Anyone know if he has been speaking at any conferences, symposiums etc.?
"With his extensive background as a noted professional speaker to corporations and associations on leadership, teamwork, and innovation, Rick will also serve as public spokesman for Sanswire. GlobeTel CEO, Mr. Timothy Huff, noted “Rick's extensive career in aviation, space, and leading-edge technology, linked with his skills as a professional speaker, made him a perfect addition to our Sanswire team. We look forward to his technical inputs, perspective, and representation to the public of our exciting and world-changing new capabilities.“
doc,
Yep we are looking at the same res/sup lines. I just drew mine on close price which looks closer to 1.70 and 2.10 not intraday prices like yours.
I agree with you Ken. Both NASA and Air Force have layers upon layers of organization and talent that he had access to and almost certainly larger budgets for programs than what he has from GTE.
As I stated before, thats why they brought in Eric Heininger last month.
DoctorS,
RE: the res of 1.57 you are seeing, is it on the weekly chart? (the gap down from the last two weeks in april to first week of may)
Which do you feel is stronger, the res range of 1.70-1.75 on the daily or the 1.57 on the weekly? I'm thinking the 1.70 range will be see more resistance.
LOL yeah him! and the Baskin Robbins guy was in it too.
May have been posted before but here is a great link to the DOD links page which is the mother of all links pages re: govt. defense agencies and orgs.
http://www.dod.gov/sites/
I'm out of posts maybe mide will read this or someone will copy this part for me and post in one of their posts for me? Why disclose only that NDA? Legally then where are are the disclosures of all the other NDA's they certainly have now that would be material and not pr able?
bye all have a great w/end
mide,
"can not discuss it at all" this is the part I question. Why and how can we even say we HAVE an NDA with a defense contractor? That seems to me to violate the purpose of an NDA.
design,
I am very interested in this topic as well. I know little about NDA's but what I do know is that they are very fluid, none are the same, so while I was initially skeptical, it does seem reasonable. However, who would require it and why? Us or them? Could be us....
OT:You may not believe me but it occurred to me to check your profile after my post to see if you gave any personal info. I got one right. Love the scene in Shawshank Redemption, Morgan Fairchild says "Get busy livin or get busy dying"
eqmx,
There were many interesting tidbits that you can catch. I took notes and will watch again because I now have some more questions.
I didn't read Huff's body language at all the way you did nor do I agree with you that "we will never see it fly" although Huff made it clear Bob would not fly it before he felt it was ready and tested a million times which might not be in 06.
"It must be marketed very heavily" (magic money and brazil voip only marketing I heard him mention) I agree with you here but Huff says EVERYONE is knocking down their doors and they have to much business already. If so I'd like to see some of it please....
Bottom line
An investment is an asset purchased in hopes of getting a future return or interest from it.
I am one of 37000 who believes in the globetel vision and bought into the company.
I also join most of those 37000 who currently have an aggregate loss on that investment.
Franks board header details the framework for our discussion very thoroughly. Unfortunately most do not read it. Positive and Negative opinions are appreciated if presented properly. You need understand both to get a full picture. I also feel those that day trade or swing trade are no different than longs other than their time frame for a return (b/c of opportunity cost) on that investment, they want and need GTE to perform. Lowtrade is an excellent example of this.
Often we post (I am guilty as well) and enjoy posting but do not make enough effort to “listen”. The nuances of communication are lost to many. But not you Design….

Logan,
You want to play nice now? Lowtrade normally supports his opinions with TA analysis. You know the rules here so follow them.
Here is your request...I posted this chart on June 5th that we had broken down trend and double tested possible support. Currently holding this support range, I believe it's now a triple bottom.
If this support range does not hold price will drop until a new support is found. That is why some are expecting .85. You will note I also drew what I think is next resistance range in a red line around 1.70ish if we hold support here and start trending upwards.
Logan,
I respectfully disagree. Your tone to the other posters on the TA board was negative and accusatory and not one of discussion. As I said you could support your views without personally attacking them.
Here I was posting about the personality traits of the leadership of GTE, admittidly gleened from the video, and in the spirit of providing insight to better understand them. If you do not see the difference and "you could care less", not a problem, we will go our seperate ways....
sirius,
"full of my own opinions", hmmm, aren't we all? LOL
Having never broke bread with the man, a "very humble" and "genuine human being" he may well be and I did not say he was not.
Correct me if I am wrong here sirius but from the tone of your post you seem to feel I was disrespecting him. As I stated, I only heard his answers to questions.
Curious why you and Logan both focused on my observation that IMO he sounded like he was whining when he talked about working alot and none of my other comments which were either neutral or positive?
Logan,
Prove your points without personal attacks and moderate your tone please or you become no better than those you think you are "exposing".

disclaimer: not really any video for me to get a read by his posture, body movements and reactions so this is by voice only and his answers to questions.
Nasa to a tee
Used to making government wait
Had layers of organization under him previously to task
Used to having process or creating process but not used to implementing it (IMO thats why Heininger was brought in)
Knows what military wants (do we need "rescue" UAV's for the strat with 4050lb payload, hmmm, how much does a strat weigh? IMO it's a design for military use)
That he is all about "Quality Control" is an UNDERSTATEMENT(this will be KEY when we hit production phase of multiple strats)
Has never worked this hard or under this pressure because nasa could put govt. off no prob.

Mide and low made the excellent point that you are investing in the people. Judge character by impression only and you aren't looking at all of the pieces to the puzzle. You step back, observe, listen, understand it's type, motive, weakness, strength, etc. in order to see through to it's core, to size it up.
Hard to do in a video and not in person but I am thankful for what I got since I could not attend.
Grapes no longer "sour". Just finished the video.
Still not sure if I'm making a fine wine or vinegar though. Somehow came away with questions from the answers given TO the questions!
<grapes scratches his head> HUH? LOL That's why you bring someone with you when you see the doctor....
sirius,
To add my non-confrontational opinion to your comment to manny: 3 days or 3 weeks, not an issue. Who to blame?
Well, blame MGWB for taking GTE and the Hotel at their word for the connections and not checking it out themselves before the meeting,
definitely blame GTE for not thinking of all the positives of a live webcast BEFOREHAND(we ARE a SALES AND MARKETING company now) and only after shareholders suggest, no DEMAND it, do they do anything about it,
blame the hotel for hosting a conference type event and not knowing enough about what types of connections are used and needed.
As an aside....Others have posted Rob's comments before and if you take their words for the truth of the conversation, he has proven himself to at times say things he does not or can not back up (whether it's his own fault or he gets handcuffed by factors out of his control).
P.S. If anyone wants me to go back and get the sources for my opinion that Rob's mouth writes checks it can't cash, I will, but I'm pretty sure everyone knows the examples I speak of.
I have never called Rob but you and quite a few others seem to have no problems reaching him.
Since he is so easily accessible would you recommend that if shareholders had questions that were not answered in the meeting presentation give him a call giving him the opportunity to do so if he can?
I do understand that finesse is required here to get the info that we want....
what did he say about the responses to our shm questions we submitted to him?
rruder,
82% of voting shares
not 82% of voting shareholders
shouldn't be surprising it passed since we know who has the most shares.
"PS. The disappointment for me was I was lead to believe from Rob that most of our questions we spent so much time over would be answered in Huff's presentation. Unless asked in the Q and A they were not."
So much more than "dissapointing" to me. First my heart sank and now my ears are hot with ANGER....
silly nilly,
You differentiate between airships and UAV's in your post to pit here:
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=11609527
But in support of your reply to my post....A satellite is a satellite is a satellite. Unless you are familiar with them you would not know the many different uses, designs and orbits. So much so that within the industry they have designations ie. low earth orbit, medium earth orbit, geostationary orbit, geosynchronous orbit, high earth orbit. They are all satellites though. And whether it's a 300 ft. strat or a 3 ft. dragon eye, they are UAV's.
nil,
Sanswire seems to promote the use of HAP or high altitude platform. Lockheed calls their design an HAA or high altitude airship. HAAUAV or HAPUAV if you like. Northrop Grumman calls the global hawk HAEUAV for high altitude endurance although it's more planelike.
imo aerial and atmospheric are not used in the same context as they relate to UAV or the acronym would be unmanned atmospheric vehicle. Technically you are correct in that they are unmanned aerial/atmospheric vehicles. I think there is such a difference in design and use that some further designation is necessary to seperate them and apparently the industry does as well.
Good question. I know that many companies choose to "unveil" new products to WOW the shareholders and there are no pr's for that other than the obvious shm pr ex:"...at the annual shm xyz company showed off it's new widget..." but done the right way, well....ck this out
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=11474758
thanks for finishing my thoughts straightup, I was midpost when I had to get my sammich out of the toaster oven.
yep, lots of specific duties. Some of the surveilence uses though I believe we will be getting in the future once we have established a level of acceptance or more specific expectation of use for the strat.
The strat is unique in that I would not consider it a UAV any more than you would consider a satellite a UAV. There are many different UAV's used for many different purposes. Some are as small as a remote control airplane. When we see these contract awards everyone keep in mind that in many cases the solicitation might not really be applicable to the strat.
RAYTHEON/BRAZIL CONNECTION
"As the prime contractor, Raytheon would uniquely bring direct, large-scale border management expertise to the Secure Border Initiative net (SBInet) program. In addition to its experience from leading the System for Vigilance of the Amazon program (SIVAM), which is comparable in scope and complexity to the SBInet, Raytheon has led border protection efforts in the Ukraine and Middle East and is leading a similar effort to secure the borders of New York City's four major airports."
more on SIVAM here:

No sooner do I mention it and mr_schnizzle appears! LOL
Whats your take on the "fiber-optic backbone" to "access router" in the Metropolitan Areas graph pg. 16 from the pdf?
symphyl,
I think there are few who can really say they do understand ALL the technical details. Since they are still testing the strat and systems, I assume that GTE themselves are still ironing out the specifics of how exactly it will all work together.
I was questioning the board a while back re: mobile broadband (can I access the net on my laptop driving in my car on my way to work like I could with a smartphone, pda or laptop with pcmcia) and mr. schnizzle seemed to have some expertise. His reply seems to be similar to some of your conclusions such as wifi not wimax to the enduser.

Heres an interesting article about space surveillance needs.
http://www.defensetech.org/ scroll 3/4 down
Pentagon's Space Spies
You can't protect what you can't see. And, right now, America's military has a really, really hard time seeing into space. Which means U.S. satellites could be at risk.
So it makes sense that the Air Force is spending a whole lot of money on "space situational awareness" -- getting a better picture of what's in orbit -- before the service starts investing big in the more outlandish tools of space war. Air Force magazine breaks down the programs:
The Space Fence is an array of dispersed radars that track satellites as they pass over the United States. The Air Force is planning a $275 million upgrade over the next five years that will convert the system to S-band radar, allowing greater search capability and faster revisit times. It also will sharpen the resolution of the radar, so that it can see objects from a current minimum of 12 inches in size down to two inches in size. The radars themselves will be distributed over a wider geographical area, giving a better view of the horizon. They will be able to see beyond low earth orbit (LEO) to medium Earth orbit (MEO). [Col. Ronald] Grundman said the old hardware likely will be retired around 2011, because “it’s reaching some sustainability limits.”
Space-Based Surveillance System: Planned to be a constellation of five satellites, the SBSS would operate in in LEO to look at satellites and other objects in geosynchronous Earth orbit (GEO), at about 26,000 miles from the Earth’s surface. SBSS builds on a missile defense experiment launched in 1996 that looked for ballistic missiles using a visible and an infrared sensor. The IR sensor quit after 18 months, but the visible sensor has continued to function, now for almost 10 years, as proof of concept for a space-based sensor. However, Grundman said, “We think it’s probably going to run out of life at any time.” A Block 10 version of the SBSS is to be ready to fly in 2009. It will be a “risk reducer” for the objective system—the remaining four satellites—which should be launched between 2013 and 2014. The SBSS will be a visible-spectrum telescope. It will “help us find things” at GEO and MEO “that we don’t already know about,” Grundman noted, as well as “keep track of things up there that we do know about, and to get more frequent revisit on them.” The SBSS will be able to survey an area of interest “a few times a day as opposed to every few days.”
RAIDRS: The Rapid Attack Identification Detection and Reporting System is not a satellite, but a “hybrid architecture” of sensors, comm links, and data processing systems intended to analyze the data from satellites and determine if they are being affected by some external force, Grundman explained. “It’s a data situational awareness system” that analyzes the data received at satellite downlinks. RAIDRS detects electromagnetic interference on satellites; “in other words, it’s looking to see if our commsats are being jammed by others.” Spiral 1 also will be able to pinpoint the source of the jamming. By 2010, full operational capability will be 32 ground-based, deployable RAIDRS with broad capability to analyze radio frequency energy across many bands.Grundman noted that interference or jamming may not always be a hostile act. “It’s not that uncommon that we end up interfering with our own communications, sometimes,” he noted. However, it’s important to find a jamming signal and stop it, no matter the source. Spiral 2 will have more data fusion and more automated connections with space command and control systems.
On the offensive counterspace [knocking out enemy satellite] front is the Counter Communications System. Known as CounterComm for short, this project funds a series of ground-deployable jamming units, each with two antennas, set up in the vicinity of an area where the Air Force wants to interfere with an adversary’s satellites. Operational since 2004, the Air Force now has three Block 10 systems and, in the Fiscal 2007 budget, asked for three more. There are plans to upgrade the units to a Block 20 configuration. Further details are classified...
Grundman said he has nothing in his portfolio involving a kinetic [physically destructive] ASAT [anti-satellite] capability. Asked about ASATs that disable a target satellite by spraying their optics or solar panels with paint, Grundman said, “There have been some studies looking at potential concepts in that regard. They’re sometimes called ‘coaters.’ And I think that’s about as much as I can say about that.”

sirius, how do you know this?
"...the targeted ad campaign in certain cities with large Brazilian populations has just begun"
Easy sirius, easy....
I see nothing but posting about specific experiences of those posters when trying to set up service. The rep even said the site was down temporarily according to another poster.
Not disinformation. When no information comes from the company, this is what you get, shareholders trying to find out for themselves what is going on. BTW "stratellite testing" can be many things. Let's all try to be level-headed and non-accusatory.
Sitting here watching the World Cup and hoping GTE suprises us when Brazil plays it's opening match. An add on Brazilian TV or radio would reach o just about ALL of the 190 plus million (some ads in miami wouldn't hurt either duh).
Money more than well spent. You wanna talk about a marketing coup, whoa nelly....I can only hope it's not a coincidence that the service was launched just before and we will hear about the advertising blitz around June 13th.
of course they would actually have to be able to provide the service....
