Order #21857-
I was thinking the same thing yesterday. What Blair said yesterday was nothing new. Damas is a known shorter to the industry and the timing of his remarks were too perfect.
They are picking off the low hanging fruit. Typically it's a pain to switch producers with all the paperwork. CGC through their Bodystream ownership is throwing out a big net to capture the stray registered paitients diverting them to Bedrocan and Tweed. Bedrocan has incredibly constant supply and Tweed has been much better since Feb 1st.
Bodystream sent this email out to patients today:
We realize that some patients have been unable to obtain the Medical Cannabis they need due to a lack of supply from Licensed Producers (LPs).
LPs have been working hard to increase their growing capacity and inventories are starting to improve, we encourage you to call or visit your LPs' website to check on the latest availability.
Bodystream is committed to ensuring that our patients have access to the Medical Cannabis they require. If you are having difficulty purchasing from your current LP and would like a change, we are here to help.
To speak with someone about changing your licensed producer contact us:
Contact your local clinic: Click For Locations
Email: doctors@bodystream.ca
Phone: 1-800-730-8210
We will be happy to register you with a new Licensed Producer and in most cases. no appointment will be required.

Pharmacy distribution brought back into the spotlight today. Are we expecting an update on Pharmacy distribution in the upcoming spring legislation?
The golden ticket is getting into Shopper's. Anyone familiar with these types of deals think Shopper's will have multiple suppliers or an exclusive deal? Knowing CGC they are aiming for Shopper's.
"The definitive agreement between CanniMed and PharmaChoice will provide for PharmaChoice to distribute CanniMed products exclusively in exchange for CanniMed providing training programs for PharmaChoice pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. The definitive agreement will be completed within 60 days of the first legislation change that allows pharmacies to distribute medical cannabis."

Does anyone have a link to the full Beacon report?
Anyone else pick up on Bruce saying they are days away from being approved to sell gel caps? I didn't realize until today that another LP, MedReleaf beat us to it.
https://www.newcannabisventures.com/medreleaf-offers-same-day-delivery-to-toronto-medical-cannabis-patients/
"This announcement follows closely on another pioneering first for MedReleaf, becoming the first and only LP to receive Health Canada approval to sell cannabis capsules, a format that is favoured by physicians and patients alike as it allows for more consistent dosing."
Saw a Bodystream advertisement in the Metro paper this morning (not sure how to post pictures on here). Can't advertise LP's but it appears you can advertise the channel that funnels the clients to the LP's.
MedCann GmbH Pharma and Nutraceuticals is a distributor. They import all of their cannabis.
I think CanniMed would be a good fit for CGC. We have Bedrocan as a pharma brand for the Canadian market, however they need a different brand to operate in Europe. Tweed is geared for rec and not a suitable brand for the German medical maket. Bedrocan BV has the rights to europe and they are entirely seperate from us. CanniMed has the right image and has already declared their intent to be 100% pharmaceutical and has a relatively low market cap. They were the sole Health Canada producer since the early 2000's during the MMAR regime. They have the history and exprience.
We wouldn't be the first Canadian LP to partner up with an Israelian producer. MedReleaf has been working with Tikun Olam.
The Emery's are rolling in the dough right now. They are full blown selling recreational pot to anyone of age.
"This location, one of 18 franchises, can pull in between $30,000 and $40,000 a day."
"For a guy who sometimes gives pot away for free, Marc keeps a keen eye on performance metrics and knows the exact headcount of customers they had last Friday: 1,783."
"The details of their supply chain are, somewhat understandably, sketchy. Jodie said much of the product comes from brokers who get it from those with medical growing licences. Many of the connections have stood for decades."

Order #20073- just placed
Cross Super Lemon OG off the available list. I thought the $9 Sour Kush would have dried up quicker.
Sunset gone now. 3 new releases today sold out. I bet the next one to sell out is the Sour Kush.
Banana Kush sold out
Had my follow up apt at Bodystream just now. Was chatting with admin staff about the buyout of Bodystream by Mettrum, the CGC acquisition and general LP supply issues. They were surprised how much info i knew. Kinda funny how Tweed and Mettrum shops are full right after the acquisition goes through eh?
Anyways Bodystream is still signing on patients to 7 different LP's which makes me wonder why the acquisition by Mettrum was so important if they are still sending writing scripts for Tilray and others. That being said I'm sure CGC knows what they are doing.
All of their LP's have had serious supply issues over the past several weeks.
On the patient schedule sheet I saw 4 Tweed, 3 Tilray, 2 Mettrum and 1 Bedrocan (10 per page). I put my salesmanship to good use and got the person waiting next to me to switch from Tilray to Tweed. She was not happy with the customer service.
When the recreational market arrives I would consider switching up occupation if I could be a Tweed sales rep. I could imagine it being similar to being a Molson or Sleeman's rep with a territory to cover. I Would love my job everyday. If those positions exist in the future I would strongly consider pursuing it.
That's double my biggest order.
Drivepact was order # 196735 at about 7:30am. We are over 2000 orders today.
There is an email alert for new strains.
$12 Chocolate Fondue #3 sold out. Very interested in seeing an order number towards the end of the day.
Over 500 order since 7:25am
Inventory has been dismal. Just ordered now and lucky me my prescription renews tomorrow so I'll be doing a full variety order again tomorrow.
Order #19700- at 8:08
Being as optimistic as possible... maybe just maybe they are waiting for the MT acquisition to complete before releasing the bulk of croptober to both companies. It would be a fantastic way to bring MT under the Canopy.
Order #19385- placed Friday evening
Based on that metric CanniMed is looking pretty good. They are flying under the radar right now. They are going to be the first LP to have gel cap pills on the market.
No fees. None at the start or ongoing. Show your OHIP card every visit. To put it bluntly it's difficult to bullshit these guys into giving you a prescription. You need a medically documented ailment to back up your symptoms.
In my opinion pharmacies will be distributing cannabis derivatives by some point in 2018. You will need a legitimate presciption to access it through Shopper's or Rexall. I would bet big that the vast majority of people who have "medical" marijuana prescribed through street dispensaries never showed an OHIP card to anyone. These clinics are neccesary to streamline patients into the new medical era.
On a side note I think we will see insurance covered cannabis derivatives in the post-rec medical market. I doubt dried buds would be covered but the gel cap pills will be.
They definately aren't store fronts. The two locations I've visited are in buildings that have family doctors, physiotherapists, chiropractors etc.. It's a system of clinics that solely prescribe medical marijuana. It's an easy to use system and they do all the paperwork for you. They urine test you at every renewal to check that you are not using other non prescribed drugs. I actually failed my last urine test because they did not detect and THC! Doctor didn't believe I was using it and said it better show up next time or there's no renewal for me. The first year you have to renew every 3 months. They monitor your order history as well.
The clinics were already influenced by Mettrum. They have had Mettrum Original displays out in the clinic. They direct patients to sign up with Mettrum if you don't have a personal preference. Personally I asked for Tweed. I've made 4 visits and every time I've checked out the schedule in front of the receptionist because the LP is listed for each appointment. I'd say it has averaged 60% MT 30% Tweed/Bedrocan and 10% Tilray or something else.
im assuming the acquisition is to direct patients solely to Canopy LP's once the merger is complete. With the backing of Canopy they can expand quicker. The system already works.
Mettrum Acquires Bodystream. This is the clinic that prescribed for me.

I wonder how big the Chocolate Fondue batch was... it's already sold out.
New Snoop "Moonbeam" and new DNA "Chocolate Fondue" in the store right now. Both high THC and $12
I should have read this before my last post. The young urbanite professionals don't care for the hippy activist prodcut that Brent mentioned in an earlier post. I would have to say users 35 and under will flock to quality, convinience (phone app delivered to the house), safety and price.
I've seen the opposite amognst my peer group. I'm a millennial - the largest consuming age group of marijuana. I live downtown Toronto. The majority of my friends got useful commerce or engineering degrees and have incomes ranging from $60K - $120K. I would say 85% of the users in university still consume now from my experience. The dispensiares were a big leap forward from meeting dealers. That being said my educated peer group would prefer to buy from LP's than the shady Cafe in City Place that sells out of a back room or the Emery's Canabis Culture franchise. From a health stand point they prefer tested Health Canada approved product. They like to know exactly whats in the product to choose if they want to get couch-locked for a movie or just a little early evening or daytime buzz. We probably are the highest consumers of Uber rides and Uber eats, millennials love convinience. Placing an order on a phone App and having it delivered to your residence is much more convinient than going to the store. Typically buyers purchase $80-$100 and up at a time and never let the supply finish before getting more. LP product being cheaper than ALL TORONTO DISPENSARIES is also a huge bonus. Most dispensary bud goes for $11-$14 a gram unless your're buying the bottom shelf stuff for $10. Keep in mind these are Toronto store front prices. Once you know what you like and what you want you have no need to visit the brick and mortar shop.
The problem is it's a tedious process to register as an LP patient. I probably know 6 LP customers and another 8 who would get if it wasn't so difficult. Of the 6 LP customers 5 of them are rec users but had a medically documented ailment that allowed them easy access. The ones who want it are obviously all rec users.
The LP's have great product. Everyone is slowly getting exposed to a greater variety as more people register and existing clients bounce around producers. Broken Coast has some top notch product. Only THC strains available currenty but it's all top notch. Bedrocan is consistently amazing, it just gets a little repetitive with only 4 strains (not counting the 0%THC strain). Tweed is the most frustrating of all because they have some incredible product that is so highly in demand that they can't keep it on the shelf.
Anyways that's more than I expected to write when I hit reply. People want convineince and safe product. The LP demand is there. Mail order will be huge.
Respect the law. What is Toronto waiting for?

Had to look it up. Forgot we own shares in the Entourage.
https://www.newcannabisventures.com/canopy-growth-brazil-cannabis-venture-progresses/
I didn't pick up on this the first time around:
"Entourage will now begin clinical study drug preparation and stable pharmaceutical formulations needed for the development of a whole plant drug candidate targeting epilepsy and pain management for registration before the Brazilian health authority ANVISA anticipated in 2018."
This is the kind of stuff that excites Bruce most based on his interviews since the last Q conference call.
I believe that 10kg shipment went to Brazil. It was all Bedrocan bud.
Supply Issues:
Anyone notice last week that 4 oils came and left the Tweed shop in about 24 hours? Argyle, Bird's Eye, Quinn and Zauis all got gobbled up quickly.
Checked the Mettrum site today and they have ZERO bud on the shelf. They do however have 2 high THC oils and 1 mid THC/CBD oil available.
It's a short term problem but there has to be 1000's of unhappy customers right now.
The ramp up in production can't come soon enough.
Mettrum's cost should come down significantly shortly after the deal is done.
Was a pleasure to meet a fellow iHub-ber.
Building on what TMEvans said about the German medical market check out what Mettrum CEO Michael Haines said about their expertise with doctors at 6:19 of the video. Keep in mind that German patients will have financial assistance purchasing prescribed medical cannabis.
