Mig ...re today's 8k.....
1) Not a PR so the newsagencies may not pick up the story as quickly
2) No mention of the company involved.....what would the narrative be if the company in question was also the oil company that lost one of its laptops with the important personal info of the victims of the Gulf oil disaster.
Sincerely,
Jas
Good morning RWK and Maynard,
Once again...a world's leading international company has kicked the tires of the SED and after a thorough vetting of the competition has decided to go with WAVE. The two take aways here imho are
1) SEDs will eventually become the gold standard for protecting data
2) Wave's products ( in the arena of TPMs/SEDs )are the BEST in the world...
Sincerely,
Jas
Taxi....thanks for posting......just another example how the "tide" is changing rather rapidly regarding TRUSTED COMPUTING!!!!
Sincerely,
Jas
"Every share accumulated should help with their funeral...". You are absolutely correct!!! I was in the market last week accumulating additional shares. All signs are pointing towards the Federal government FINALLY getting serious about cyber security and Trusted Computing.
All one needs to do is read the DoD memo that Awk uncovered and NW's recent posting to see the writing on the wall...imho
Sincerely,
Jas
Thanks Awk!!!! Maybe the long slog is going to be ending in 2012 !!!!!!!
Sincerely,
Jas
Wavxmaster....thanks for posting the info about Nist 800-147 specifications.....what I was referring to was the word mandate....the Nist 800-147
Were a set of recommendations.....not a mandate. The info I stumbled onto this morning used the term mandate.....curious....
Sincerely,
Jas
ANDY or ALEA......Came across the following this morning..but for some reason...I can't access any further info...
Mandatory DOD Bios protection Guidance: DOD DIO Memorandum 8 September 2011 mandates implementation of NIST sp 800-147 'BIOS Protection Guidelines" on DOD Information Systems posted Oct 11,2011
Sincerely,
Jas
"Uefi and the TPM: Building a foundation for platform trust"

Sorry if already posted...

" Trusted roots could hold key to info system security" An article that appeared on Oct. 24 on Fierce Government IT.....

sorry if already posted...
Sincerely,
Jas
Doma.....re making money....I can't argue with you regarding trading. I've chosen to simply accumulate. A little suggestion....I wouldn't be keeping my eyes on Peter...instead...keep your eyes on the governments of the US and UK.....
Sincerely,
Jas
Doma...re Safend selling.....this will work itself out.....we have to keep in mind what this acquisition has meant for Wave Systems. I believe that we are a stronger company today than prior to the purchase. If the Safend VCs are Infact selling their shares......then those of us accumulating additional shares we be able to so at roughly these levels for a little longer. I'm not looking to sell in the next 3-6 months......18-24 months from now.....the stock will be well north of 10dollars/share....imho Hang in there!!
Sincerely,
Jas
Re cc notes.....I spent some time re-reading the transcript of the recent cc. What I found most curious were the answers sks provided REM...unless I skipped over it....sks never mentioned the contribution of potential government contracts to our top number. This glaring absence in the face of the reports provided by NW from the recent NSA show is somewhat intriguing to say the least. This is even more so when one looks at the answer sks provided Jakesdad regarding the systems integrators. Finally....when asked about whether these govt orders in Q1 and Q2 should be considered early phases of deployment....he clearly said yes. He also mentioned that these upcoming orders would in essence be to demonstrate scalable deployments.....not research into whether this technology works.....ie...a pilot.
Sincerely,
Jas
tkc...re European deal....I agree with you....I was expecting 2.5-3. it could be that the company in question has decided to split their order. The other possibility could be that they had to drop their prices/unit.....personally...I doubt this is the case...
Sincerely,
Jas
Dig...re q3 fig.....is your range including rev from Safend....or are they simply from Wave Systems without contributions from Safend?? My guess for Q3 rev....excluding Safend is about a million less than your range......8.8....9.3
Sincerely,
Jas
Foam....."Trusted computing and ID validation"........amazing how we have gone from nobody talking about the concept of Trusted Computing within the DOD.....to multiple articles being written on a weekly basis quoting NSA officials and DOD officials regarding the importance of Trusted Computing.....
When the investment community finally gets wind that the DOD may be on the verge of deploying Trusted Computing solutions.....the rise in Wave's share price will be breath taking......
Sincerely,
Jas
tkc...re HP....Given the recent revelation that GM was in fact the Auto company......I believe the HP numbers are simply part of the GM deal. GM is a client of EDS....and as you remember....the intial deal was with Dell...but after the deal was enlarged and accelerated...the PR made reference to a second OEM involved in the deal. I believe that second OEM was HP.....
Edit......just noticed that you guys are already on the GM track....
Sincerely,
Jas
Doma...re "RINGING ENDORSEMENT" Doma...those are your words....not mine. People have diffeent reasons for selling...that is their business. I'm only commenting upon the Trusted Computing landscape that exists today and the ramifications to Wave. What anyone else does with their shares is their business....
Sinceely,
Jas
Doma.....Safend was purchased by using a combination of cash and stock. This filing is simply allocating those shares used in the purchase. What those investors do with those shares has NO relevance to the significance of the deal to Wave's product portfolio/ R&D staff as well as sales staff.
It's been a very LONG journey to this point. To a certain extent...the length of that journey is blurring our ability to clearly see where we find ourselves today.
1) Govt. There should be NO doubt that the Govt. is FINALLY about to deploy trusted computing solutions. The recent NSA show was rather significant in the fact that WAVE was the ONLY company at the show capable of doing what the NSA has outlined. We are on the verge of deployment...according to the reports from the NSA show.....the next 6-12 months could see as much as 6 million seats.
2) UK Govt.....a official of the UK govt. while attending the cybersecurity conference hosted by Wave said that a roadmap would be published by Nov. of this year and that Trusted Computing would play an important role. Once again....I ask you....is there another company out there that has the portfolio of Trusted Computing products that Wave brings to the table???
3) Success breads Success We now know without ANY doubt that the auto company in question is in fact GM.....We also have BASF and the possibility of another European company coming on board over the near future. PWC is still talking up the value of TPMs. Why are these victories important???? They provide other companies proof that the technology works as advertised. New prospective companies may not need to "vet" the technology in the same manner as the "early adopters" needed to do. This should help to decrease the sales cycle going forward. This will hit hyper drive once it becomes clearer that the Goverments on both sides of the Atlantic are on the verge of not only deploying Trusted Computing solutions...but also potentially mandating companies who deal with them to also deploy such technologies.
So yes.....I continue to make additional buys of WAVX shares. As each day goes by....more and more shares are finding their way into very strong hands.....If the former owners of Safend decide to get rid of those shares...they will also be absorbed. The shorts and day traders are going to find themselves in an interesting situation in the next few months....imho
Sincerely,
Jas
Tkc.....thanks for your post.....
Sincerely,
Jas
Doc......re q3 revenues.......12 million.....really??? Excluding any revenues from Safend......and the fact that we have had no prs in q3 regarding new deals being closed......I'm expecting a 10-15percent growth over q2......around 9 million dollars........I'm not sure how you came up with that figure....q4 on the other hand will be north of 11-12 million IMHO..... I believe the European deal WILL be a q4 event
Sincerely,
Jas
Ho Alea...re cost comparisons slide.....I agree with you100%......it also caught my eye when I viewed the presentation slides.
Sincerely,
Jas
Re share price.....so.....do you have any idea as to what the other reasons might be that are driving the share price down on VERY low volumes???
Sincerely,
Jas
Re timing....according to the video that wavxmaster posted......the new Samsung tab will be available through the carriers sometime in Nov.......
Sincerely,
Jas
Good morning Telstar......its been an interesting long journey to say the least.......you're obviously correct that there WILL be competition.....and as you said...it will validate the space. The point that I'm attempting to make is that Wave appears to be wrapping herself in the Trusted Computing flag......and that is a good place to be imho
Sincerely,
Jas
Re Branding......the Wave BRANDING continues.....at some point.....we WILL become the gold standard....imho
Sincerely,
Jas
Re pr.....the branding of Wave continues......activity in Europe is picking up.....so at some point a pr or two from there should materialize.....
Sincerely,
Jas
Amazingly....nobody has posted on the article that Amsterdam posted and then the awsome General Dynamics information that Helpful provided.
Jas
Helpful....amazing insight as to where General Dynamics is heading...and more importantly....Waves place in the area of Trusted Computing......
Fits in very nicely to the last paragraph in Amsterdams article....
Sincerely,
Jas
Kaleid.....aren't you curious as to why we went from the 2.20s to the 2.80s in a short period of time on rather very little news outside of the Safend purchase?? Is there something brewing under the surface that has caught the attention of some new money??
Sincerely,
Jas
Re Pentagon and NSA.....interesting last paragraph....
Sincerely,
Jas
re Safenet deal......what Safenet deal???? It's a Safend deal....fwiw
Sincerely,
Jas
Thurston.....it's beyond belief that some can get away with calling Wave a scam........truly amazing.....
Sincerely,
Jas
Amazing post.....SO....you used the term SCAM...Accordingly.......
GM has been the victim of a scam...not just once....but TWICE!!
NSA has been duped Multiple times over the years
BASF has been the victim of a scam.....
Dell has been the victim of a SCAM for YEARS!!!!!
TCG has been scammed for allowing WAVE to sit on their BOD
MICRON has been SCAMMED
SEGATE has been SCAMMED
Amazing.........
Sincerely,
Jas
Dig.....it was mentioned that the thing that was holding the stock was the lack of financial clarity......I simply suggested that there were other aspects to the deal that were more important to the future of the company. Paying attention to curtailing overheads is important....but so is building a company.
Sincerely,
Jas
Maynard...re financials of Safend.....the TRUE value of the transaction has NOTHING to do with their financial condition.....the value lies in their engineering team.....IP.....and their sales channels.....imho. The bean counters are going to miss these points......
Sincerely,
Jas
Awk....re snorting Wavx......I thought we were suppose to go short in the 2.20-2.3 range......what are we to do now????????
Sincerely,
Jas
Re Safend.....There use to be a theory on the street that one could evaluate where a company was headed based on the number of cars in their parking lot. A growing company wold have more and more...while a stagnant company would be flat or going down. Look at what is taking place at Wave.....Prior to the purchase yesterday....we were ~ 190 employees...a rather significant increase from 6-12 months ago. Now we have added ~ 70 more....of which I'm sure there will be some cuts....The total number of employees will surely increase whatever percentage is ultimately let go. The question to ask is WHY THE EXPLOSION IN THE HEAD COUNT AT WAVE???? Either management has truly gone off the deep end.....or there is something driving the need to bulk up. What could this driving force be???? Now that is the true question!!! Some here are simply concentrating on past mistakes....and while history should never be forgotten....one should not allow it to blind one from recent accomplishments. It's very easy to comment upon the money that was wasted years ago regading WaveXpress/ Ishophere/ Booth/ Bonuses...etc.... But....one should also not forget the hard work of creating the original Embassy 2100.....TCPA...TPMs....TCG....Engineering work with DELL and Broadcom....Multiple governments contracts with the NO SUCH AGENCY. What ever one wants to say about management...one has to give them credit for where we find ourselves this morning. Think about this small fact.....WAVE WAS ONE OF THE MAJOR PARTICIPANTS IN THE RECENT NSA SHOW.
I come back to the original point....all of this bulking up HAS to have a reason to it. I sincerely believe that we are about to FINALLY engage that hockey stick!!!
Re Safend.....What I find interesting about this transaction are not the revenue numbers of that company...but rather their IP and the quality of their engineers. Part of the true value of a company resides in their IP as well as the quality of their R&D workforce. Wave appears to have acquired a very good team of engineers...based on the multiple awards their products have won. We are now in a position to keep the best and the brightest. Good engineers are not a dime a dozen...fwiw
Sincerely,
Jas
Re deal....notice that they took wave shares instead of a lot of cash....now that to me is rather significant...
Sincerely,
Jas
Send a note to sks or Collins to see if they can get you into the show....if nothing else...for the reception hosted by Wave tonight....
Jas
......consider using third party key management......my oh my.... Gartner is changing their tune regarding encryption......
Jas
