wavemaster I said FINISH down. It's not 4:00pm yet.
CPA
howard,
If they thought it was delising news, the share price would have gone down.
Today's news is NOTHING NEW. Everyone knows about Seagate. Now they finally have the software to make it work. So what is so great about today's announcement that differs from before? NOTHING!!!
I'll bet the stock goes down today.
CPA
scorpio,
That is way to far in the future. Who knows if Wave will still be around then.
CPA
Vacationhouse,
This company has had sooooo many rumors for so long, no one will buy them anymore. I'm not sure news will drive this company. I believe only real revenue recognition will drive this company.
CPA
scorpio,
No, not at all. Where do you see the softening?
CPA
tampa,
An intelligent response. Thank you!!!
CPA
Interesting results of the board survey....63% of those who took the survey think the tipping point for Trusted Computing will be in 2007 or later. Thats 63% from Wavoids. So, I ask you, if the tipping point for Trusted Computing (not even Wave upgrades) isn't until sometime in 2007 or later, why own the stock now?
It means more dilution in the mean time. More moved goal posts. IMHO, there is NO COMPELLING REASON to own the stock today. None! Maybe a year from now, but not today.
CPA
Weby,
You state that Wave does not have the money to market the product. Then you state in the very next sentence that Wave and Dell are marketing the product.
Which is it? Is Wave marketing the product or not?
Since the Wavoids think the products have not been available until this qtr. (a statement that was made about q4 2005), maybe it is time for another survey about revenue for Q2 2006. What do you say Snackman?
CPA
scorpio,
Ah, so you are trying to tell me that Wave and TPM's will be in all machines? Yet, little ol Cisco cannot do it.
I'm glad to hear that Wave will succeed where Cisco will fail.
That was a convincing arguement you make!!!
CPA
awk,
Maybe it is both. Maybe Cisco secures the internet and TPM's are used to secure laptops from theft. If that were the case, then how many Wave upgrades do you think Wave would get?
I would bet significantly fewer than Wave is counting on, IMHO.
CPA
Has anyone seen the recent Cisco ads regarding security?
Cisco claims that their systems and networks are secure. No mention of a TPM. Can Cisco secure the internet with hardware other than a TPM? That is what they are claiming.
So, who does one believe, Wave or Cisco?
Even if Wave has the better product, can they out advertise Cisco? Can they out do Cisco in any area? I for one do not think so.
If I were in the stock, I'd start to get a little nervous.
CPA
Sheldon,
Ah, you see, no one has shown where Microsoft said hardware was needed to secure the "internet", which is what Snackman wrote. I acknowledge they said hardware was needed for a secure PC. But no where did I read that it was "needed for decuring the INTERNET".
Please supply that link, and I'll have egg on my face.
CPA
Snackman,
Please show somewhere where Microsoft said that "software alone will not protect the internet".
I don't believe that is what they said.
CPA
irishbob,
Its a joke. "June is ours" has been said every June by certain posters for the last 5 years. Nothing has generated significant revenue yet.
CPA
matt,
Cancel the order and watch it. The twodays following the delisting will be ugly. Once it settles down for two days, then buy.
CPA
Weby,
I stopped believing a long time ago that good things were going to happen based on the "relationships" they formed. Historically, very little has come from them. Until they SHOW ME THE MONEY, I won't believe.
CPA
Weby,
But isn't the DoD one of the big things that Wavoids were counting on? Are you now saying that Wave doesn't need the DoD? Were they "Not ready yet", like the rest of the market has been for years? Will it be different next time?
CPA
I think I may actually go this year. SKS is due from another round of tough face to face questions.
CPA
cm,
So, are trying to imply that Microsofts visit must somehow involve Wave? If not, then what is your point? I'm curious why you think this is Wave related.
CPA
Waverider,
Yes, and EDS too.....look at the money that has come in so far from both those companies!!!
If you think Wave still has some sort of deal with AMD, I think you are sadly mistaken. Not a word from them in SIX, yes SIX years!!!
Imagine what would happen if AMD starts to go intel Dell PCs instead of just the high end servers. And, isn't the mid and big enterprise customers what the Wavoid's were counting on? Withut Intel motherboards on those servers do you still think Wave is in as good a position as it was yesterday? I certainly don't think so.
CPA
kisamura,
You see, that is the problem. The time line ALWAYS gets pushed either 3 or 6 months farther out. It never REALLY happens. Go back to any time frame you want and review posts from the longs. The ALWAYS have an excuse and ALWAYS talk about some time in the future. They never talk about results now and ALWAYS have an excuse for why deadlines were missed.
They will another one in 3 months, guaranteed!!!
CPA
Ramsey,
Here is what I do know. Dell was shipping in the first Qtr because I own 3 machines that have it on them. Therefore, I don't buy the Dell wasn't shipping until 2nd qtr. arguement.
CPA
rachelise,
Then you are admitting that there should be a similar lead time for Gateway as there was for Dell. Therefore, don't expect any Gateway revenue until mid June 2006 and any real revenue until 3rd Qtr.
If so, watch the stock price sink like a rock after 2nd qtr. revenues are announced, IMHO.
CPA
Gee Zen, based on this Gateway announcement, I gusess they won't ship until June.
BTW, did anyone else notice that the Papa Gino's press release can no longer be accessed from Wave's website? I wonder why? Care to try and answer that one. Maybe you should ask Wave as I doubt they would reply to me.

Zen,
Dell deal was completed on November 21, 2005. See below.
Now, if it took Wave 4 and 1/2 months from the deal to have Dell start shipping, this Company is in deep trouble.

zen,
Okay. Who shipped in the 4th qtr 2005 and 1st qtr 2006?
CPA
zen,
One more thing, when is the when? Netx month, qtr, year or decade?
If its 2 years. where is Wave going to get the money to survive? How much more dilution? Do you really think the stock is going to go up in the mean time?
It's not a matter of IF it is going to go down, but WHEN!!!
CPA
P.S. its already falling.
zen,
SHOW ME THE MONEY!!! Licensing revenue went DOWN last quarter. What is your explaination for this? Is it Dell's fault? I'm sure its got nothing to do with Wave, now does it. Wave doesn't control what is ordered by the enterprise market.
Dell should educate their sales staff better, right? The should understand what you know to be the obvious and start selling Wave for us. If they don't, they MUST be stupid, right?
Or, maybe, just maybe, the enterprise consumer is saying at this point "we don't see a need for this".
Hmmmmmm. Think about it. Lower qtr over qtr licensing revenue. If that doesn't raise a red flag, nothing will.
CPA
Yes, and the sign on the road says "This way to Niagra Falls".
Just how many years have you been saying "Wave has made great strides in the past year and you will soon see the results of those efforts." (ir some similar statement)? How many times have you said "It's different this time?" (remember EDS, that was going to the the big one). How many times have you said "The market wasn't ready then, but they are now."
You want to talk about the same old story over and over again. These types of statements makes my redundance about management seem mild.
CPA
Dory,
Where the royalty payments are "immaterial", your experience is correct. In Wave's case, if they know the number before they release earnings, almost any amount is matterial and would be required to be reported in the proper QTR.
CPA
Jas,
If they receive a report in April showing what they will receive for the QTR. ended 3/31, they are required by Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP) to report the amount on the report received in April as 1st QTR revenue.
The entry is to Debit Accounts receivable and credit Revenue for the amount to be received in the second QTR that was earned in the 1st QTR.
I hope that helps.
CPA
Sandman used to work for LG Electronics, quite his job there and went to work for Wave. It is my understanding that he has since left Wave.
CPA
zen,
I'm glad I could help!!!
CPA
LOL
Vader,
I woold defend your right to disagree, you and everyone else are entitled to your opinions. That is what makes this country great!!!
I really don't care who I remind you of in the end. I'm not looking to win any popularity contests here. If I was, I don't think I would have posted what I have over the years. Wouldn't you agree?
CPA
cmf,
IMHO, $350,000 or less stinks. Under $500,000 is not good.
CPA
bigtim,
I can't disagree with your analysis. However, give the relative unknowns involved here, I doubt such guidance will be forthcomming. If it is, you are probably correct that it will have a positive effect.
CPA
internet,
Who can believe the commentary based on prior statements made by management? The only thing that is REALLY going to drive this stock is posted results.
CPA
bigtim,
The real question is how much longer it is going to take them. My guess is longer than most would like it to take.
CPA
cmf,
I expect the tone to be the usual upbeat call. However, I also expect the numbers to stink (as many of the longs would agree). Based on that anticipation, I expect a selloff. For the longs, about a week after the call would be a good entry point. JMHO!!!
CPA
New Wave,
Let me make one thing clear, I have NO INTEREST in buying Wave stock until after the 1st Qtr. results. If those are positive, I'll buy. If they aren't, I won't.
I was merely pointing out what I believe to be a half truth in the press release.
