Unless she needs a new laptop, I would go looking in the pawn shops. Find one that is in good working condition and then add memory, or hard drive.
I don't know how to do that in Excel.
=IF(Q5<0;B5;IF(Q5>0;B5;N4))
Hi PraveenP, this is a bit of code from my Hi/Low demo spreadsheet. Column N is my last buy/sell price. Row 4 is just setting everything up, the action starts in row 5. column B is where you input the stock price. Column Q is where I determine if I have bought or sold any shares. If that number is zero, the number in (N5) is pulled down from (N4). IF I had a buy or a sell in (Q5), then the number in (N5 is gotten from (B5) the stock price that was inputed.
Hope this helps
Clifford
it was in his AIM book in the chapter about how he developed AIM.

Hi 1step, do feel free to post on here. Not sure that I can answer all your questions, but I'll try.
First be aware that I don't own any stock or mutual funds, and it looks like that won't change anytime soon. So I won't give out too much advice on stock picking. But I also lean towards dividend paying stock.
came across these but don't know if they will help. windows 98
Hi 1step,I do have a synchrovest spreadsheet you can have. While it is not for real investing, it will let you play with the settings. send me a email at lost_cowboy@hotmail.com
My forum is not dead, just very slow right now. Feel free to ask questions.
SAFE is 10% on both sides (buy and sell) and minimums for trading are 10% of shares or 10% of Portfolio Control (whichever is the larger value).
Interesting ideal.
Hi guys, just wanted to thank Brian, for sending me a email with my spreadsheets to me. So I will not need anyone else to send them.
Thanks,
Clifford
Hi Ed, first if you have not read Robert Lichello book, you need to read it. He explain's all this very well.
Second you can go to Software Products for use with A.I.M. and download a free excel spreadsheet that will show you the caculations. If you don't have MS Office, then use the free openoffice software.
Hi guy's, recently I lost all my spreadsheets, so if anyone has them could you send them to lost_cowboy@hotmail.com
Thanks Clifford
Hi Conrad, when talking about spreadsheets it may be worth while to download the original spread sheet. The spreadsheet that is being adjusted is on http://www.aim-users.com/aimware.htm in that worksheet you have to put in the stock prices manually. The third sheet is a example sheet for the stock CAER.
The stock prices are put in the B column. If you go down to roll 127 and roll 128 you should be able to see what the formula is doing for you. In roll 128 B128 is blank, if the Columns that use the B column did not have some type of checking you would see error messages in them. As you can see even though B128 is blank, roll 128 does not have error messages.
By the way I use openoffice, it does not have the function ALS, what does ALS do. How can a IF statement work if it is changed to a ALS statement?
Hi Larry G, ocroft likely explained his method best in post number 31574.
Hi, a openoffice extension for stock prices. GetQuote

Hello, dumber than dirt question, how do you know "I am Big Brother" is on your computer?
I did some searching for you. If you know the password for "I am Big Brother" go to this link How to Uninstall "I Am Big Brother" Software
If you do not have the password try this link BOClean I found the info on bocleaan on a old thread here. IamBigBrother : keylogger
on the Iambig brother web site they tell you how to fool Norton Antivirus Internet Security, so if you have norton's just try to undo what they say to do and I guess that norton's will find it. Use IamBigBrother with Norton Antivirus Internet Security
It depends on what you want to do. It sounds like you are using the IE browser in windows 7. I just found out that windows 7 does not have a email program. here is the writeup. Outlook Express isn't available in Windows Vista or Windows 7
Hi, so you have no problem running MSE and Avast at the same time?
There is no difference between Rebooting/Restarting your computer and simply Turning it OFF @ end-of-day and Turning it ON the Next day. Unless you have just installed some new software, or had a major update that is asking you to restart, in that case it is likely better to do the restart as soon as it is practical to do so.
Hey Ukie atube-catcher may be just what you need if the file is a flash file.
I have heard that Stream Transport can get flash files that other software can't get.
Badaboom media converter,If you have a NVIDIA GeForce 8 series or later, could you try this program and let me know what you think about it.
Hi, it looks like the vidio files are using adobe flash. I have just started using aTube Catcher. It looks like the latest update can convert to dvd format.
I was wondering if anyone has used the AIM formula with periodic investing? If no, then why not?
For Ladder Investors, have you heard of Pyramid Investing?
I have no idea if this works better than Laddering, just thought it was worth looking at.
Hi Bruce, I just got the baby up and running on windows XP. It has 4 gigs installed, windows XP shows that I have 3.18 gigs.

When my little brother gets his hands on this he will go ape.
About that 3.2 Gbit limit have you tried eboostr eboostr
Also your mention of a ram disk reminded me of a old DOS ram disk/ disk cache called combi. COMBI-Disk v1.18 - RAM disk & disk cachefile number 85.
When I had a 286, this was the best cache program I had seen. It will give a program the memory it needs, and do a ram disk and disk cache at the same time. If I remember right it adjusts the sizes dynamically. I was running this dos web browser on a 1200 modem and it would take about 5 minutes to resolve a page due to my video card being 256 colors. This one program brought that down to about one minute. If you like old dos programs try it out.
Hi, I was thinking of maybe trading them back for the 64 bits. Just its a 60 mile round trip.
THANKS, I was hoping you guys had a answer! Fry's has a no return if opened policy on this.
Help Bruce, I went down to fry's electronic store and bought the parts for two computers. At the last, I asked for windows 7. They sold me two copes of windows home premium 32 bits, OEM System Builder Pack Intended for system builder only. I have not opened the packages yet. On the front it says I have to go to Microsoft and download the OEM preinstallation kit. Which I am doing, a 2 gig bit download. While waiting I start reading some of the docs for the kit, the kit has to be installed on a windows vista or windows 7 system.
Hell of a catch 22, should I just return this to fry's and get my money back and just stick with windows XP?
On the computer hardware, as I was a tech in the navy I don't expect any problems with it.
Hi Chris, did a Google search and found this Back-Testing Robert Lichello’s Automatic Investment Management (AIM) System for Timing the Stock Market. About buying the book again, if you have the third edition you don't need the fourth edition. It is my understanding that the only change is the starting ratio. But if you have been on here for a while you know that tom has come up with a better way to determine your starting ratio.
Hi Conrad, I think I know what ocroft is doing.
Step 1 is stock selection, ocroft only uses A+ rated Standard & Poor's stocks. The next step is to determine how many shares to buy. He uses AIM for that.
Example: stock XYZ looks like it may be a good stock to buy at $4. But how many shares to buy? You have a total of $10,000 to invest, should you invest all the $10,000, or half, or some number in between? My understanding is that ocroft looks at the recent price history to help make this decision.
Lets say the stock has this history, last peak was $10, it then went to $8 then to $5 and then to $4. I have only a old AIM spreadsheet that uses a 50:50 ratio starting ratio, so lets use it.
At $10 buy 500 shares.
At $8 buy 75 more shares
At $5 buy 428 more shares
aT $4 buy 489 more shares.
Total shares are 1492, PC has gone from $5000 to $7348. He has not actually bought any of these shares yet but if he had it would have cost him roughly $9,695 dollars for a average cost of $6.498 a share.
Next month the stock price goes up to $5 and PC stays the same, now is the time to make the initial buy. He needs to buy 1492 shares at $5 a share, it cost him $7460, and he has a average cost of $5 a share. He has $2540 dollars in cash to use if the stock price drops lower.
On the sell side he has made the decision to sell all shares at once. The price goes to $8 he waits the price goes to $10 he waits. The price goes back down to $8, he sells all 1492 shares for $11,936. $11,936 minus $7460 equals $4,476 dollars profit.
The old AIM program is showing a profit of $2,692 at this point in time.
That is my understanding of what ocroft is doing at this time.
hi infooverload, he has a patent on his formula, on page one at the bottom you can see it.
http://www.wikipatents.com/US-Patent-7003483/system-and-method-for-optimizing-the-number-of-units-of-a-security/Page-1
You mean you put it in gear, with out having your hands on the wheel?
Hi Clive, maybe I should have said a very simple comparison. For the CR and CV I used pencil, paper and calculator. One of these days I'll have to make a spreadsheet for them.
About your random stock price generators, do you have that in a simple spreadsheet?
Hi Conrad, not really interested in whether the FLAW is a flaw or not. But the easiest way to reduce the FLAW and extend how far AIM can keep its cash would be to reduce the feed back to PC. But this would reduce AIM's profit when the stock recovers.
A while back I did a comparison: A constant ratio plan at 50% ratio, a constant value plan that starts with half in stocks. Today I compared them to AIM BTB.
Here is the stock prices I used, $10, $7.5, $5.0, $$7.5, and $10.
Each plan starts with $10,000.
The constant ratio plan started with $10,000 and ended up with $10,633. A gain of 6.34%
The constant value plan started at $10,000 and ended at $11,250 a gain of 12.5%
AIM BTB started at $10,000 and ended at $12,183. A gain of 21.83%.
If this was a -89% bear only the constant ratio plan would have had working cash left.
Hi 2040forsight, first well done on buying both books. What I like about Lichello's books is, when ever I read them it gets my inventive juices flowing. About combining AIM and Synchrovest, as far as I know there is no software that does that. If you are femailar with EXCEL or openoffice Calc, you can try to build a spreadsheet. There is a free AIM spreadsheet here.
http://www.aim-users.com/aimware.htm
Hi Conrad, I am not disagreeing with you. But Lichello gave himself some hard limits. He wanted his system to be simple, so simple that if you could add and subtract you could do it. The only time you have to do division is to get (safe), and Lichello chose to use 10% of Stock value for that, so all you had to do was drop the last digit.
In my view point the only buy one should do would be the first one, as it was due to the stock price changing. The other buys that are generated are due to adding half the buy to portfolio control.
I did a check with my old AIM spreadsheet. Started AIM with $10,000 total, PC set at $5,000, at a stock price of $10. I then dropped the price to $5 and left it there. The first buy was $2,250. Then AIM went on to buy $900, then $360, then $144, before (Safe) could stop it. So that is $1,404 to much stock that was bought. How ever all that additional buying did help to lower the average cost of the shares. I don't have average cost built into this spreadsheet so I can't tell you how much the extra buys helped to lower the average cost.
