Contestants....it would be helpful if you include .ob or .pk if your pick trades on one of those exchanges. Thanks.
Randy
LOL. Well, since I can on the H.I.S. Board at last years contest...or was it two years ago? Hmmm...I'll have to check.
At any rate, I our mojo-cujo moderator agrees it's just fine with me.
Randy
For the record, I think I'll stick with my pick from last year....DRGP. Same reasons as last year...but pardon me if I wait to get my ownership interest increased to where it was before I share my reasons for thinking so.
Randy
Sorry Blockman..... But that choice has already been taken. :) Just kidding.
However, you're gonna have to get it above a penny by the end of the year to qualify for the contest. I know you can do it....Hmm...maybe I should front run for a tidy 30% gain. Hmmm.
Maybe we could alter the rules just a little....that people can pick sub-penny stocks....but they will have a cost/contest basis of a penny. Would that work for you???

ANNOUNCING OUR 2009 STOCK PICKING CONTEST
While the Rules and Prices are still being finalized you might want to start thinking about your 2009 Stock Pick. From what I recall your stock pick can trade on any exchange and close on January 31 above 1 cent per share. The winner of the contest will be determined on the percent change between the close on 12/31/08 and 12/31/09.
If there are others Rules Mr. Brent Janice (a.k.a. BillyJack) will post them.
PRIZES:
1. Cash (amount to be Disclosed later)
2. IHUB Membership (amount to be Disclosed later: at least 12 months to be awarded to top 4 or 5 places)
3. IHUB (or at least Always H.I.S.) Fame (proportional to your stock pick and the number of friends who are able to share in your good stock picking prowess).
4. ???
It would be appreciated if when you post your 2009 CONTEST PICK that you would also give a couple sentences (or more) of why you think your pick will prosper in 2009.
Randy
No problem. Guess you haven't changed your mind since post 488. :)
As my portfolio is pretty well in the dumps, I don't know that I have a great deal of credibility for evaluating and recommending. I guess I am still pretty hopeful for the future, but right now I feel pretty meek. We all have things to learn. As someone else has said, it is all a matter of getting and education and learning from one's victories and mistakes.
Later.
Randy
Is this for real? Authentic. I've not heard or read about before? RK
Couple great posts Precious Life. Thanks.

Hey Wyatt, this phrase caught my eye.
These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
The question occurred to me: What is it that he open and closes?
Maybe we should answer a previous question first. Who is the one hwo is Holy and true and that hath the key of David? I think the obvious answer is the resurrected and ascended Lord Jesus Christ.
I would tend to think that it is referring to way to heaven or reconcilation with God. I think this would fit with verse 8 which speaks about the Lord setting before them an "open door and no man can shut it."
The interesting thing is that in verse 7 it says that the Lord Jesus has control of the door. He can open it and no one can close it and he can close it and no one can open it.
It might be a bit of a stretch, but I think one of the implications is that there may only be certain times for individuals to heed his call. He opens and closes the door.
I think this may be a good antidote for people who think (I used to think this way in my youth) that I could always turn to the Lord--more or less on my terms when I wanted to. I think most people think this way. Oh I'll get serious about religion later. I'll have my fun and do what I want now and later worry about pleasing God.
I think this is similar to testing God or thinking of him as something/one that we can put in our back pocket and take him out when we need him and pretty much ignore him when we don't. One thing I am sure of is that this is not the way the Christan faith is supposed to be.
Regards,
Randy
I'll take the NYJ this week.
Randy
Hmm.. If the article you posted would become the norm for the world and society, don't ya think we'd run out of people after a while? And why in the world would you want to call two homosexuals a marriage? That's not what marriage is. While companionship might be nice than being alone, it's not marriage.
I'll take my faith before your unbelief any day. BTW how are things going for you? I hope well, but wouldn't be surprised if not.
I would add, some of those ugly passages that your article quoted are somewhat tough to deal with. My basic understanding of them is that God was judging and punishing the nations of Canaan and such for their wickedness. For things like child sacrifice, wanton immorality, etc.
Regards,
Randy
Thanks for the additional RR Quote. I've read it before...I"m surprised it wasn't included in the portfolio I posted.
Also, I saw this headline about Obama on my Yahoo Mail page as well.
Scary times. Good thing we trust in the One that both blesses and judges nations according to his justice and mercy.
Men and nations will learn to fear God better.
Ironically, this is as much so even Joe blow conservative Christian...and the many who claim to disbelieve in the God who made them. As the bumper sticker says:
No God No Peace.
Know God Know Peace.

I've not read the article...but you can be sure that with trillions of dollar value lost in the recent stock market declines.....there's going to be lots of unhappy clients.
We'll probably get deleted posts over here...but Brent and I are discussing it on the Always HIS board.
So did you pick (making this post on topic) MDMN or CDCH last year....and are you going to pick them again this year?
Randy
I guess I'm willing with Breharb's help. I can do the month end reports and she she can add the info to the IBOX.
I've already hit up Blockman to see if he'll chip in something for the price. I would, but I've concluded I'm actually better at picking loosing stock instead of winnings.
However, just so you know if we do do the contest again I'm picking my same stock DRGP. How's that for dedication? What? You think it's sounds like blind faith and hope? Perhaps.
We shall see. Hey, I could maybe throw in some of my home made jams and jellies?
Randy
I know I was just playing with your words. BTW, are you chipping in for the Always H.I.S. Stock picking contest for 2009?
RK
Now I'm confused. I thought you had to actually sell shares in order to actually lose money.
Randy
Hey there Mr. Brent. I was thinking it's just about time you/we/all start touting next year's stock contest. I wonder if maybe we couldn't gather a few more sponsors (besides Blockman and you) like IHUB to throw in 3, 6, and/or a 12 month subscription.
If he's reluctant maybe if we offer Matt two guesses instead of one.
Randy
I think that would be a good idea. Are you or Bell interested on participating as moderators?
I think it would be good to set up some criteria to evalutate this sort of picks.
Randy
I can't say this stock makes much sense to me. I wish I had bought my position down at elast levels. I coujld have owned 3 or 4 times as many shares.
if there's one consolation, it is that insiders bought a million dollars worth of stock at $.255. One would hope that at least in time they would get the share price substantially higher.
Plus I tink they reported doing "up holes" what ever those are for several wells.
Supposing oil prices recover, I'm guess this whole segment will see renewed interest. Until then, I think we stay in the douldrums.
Thanks for the reply. Have you heard anything about or from the company?
Randy
Thanks cgraut for the DD info on Mr. Rolle. It will be interesting to see how DRGP weathers the financial slowdown.
The way I'm looking is as you posted earlier...this is positive news. The more sure we can be that DRG has a future the more likely we will see its share price recover and increase.
Regards,
Randy
I don't know guys (and gals). I think Ron Paul makes way too much sense.

I wonder what the deal is. We've not traded this many shares for a bunch of weeks dare I say months?
Randy
Well since the spread is so big, I'll take Indy.
Randy
fairly meager volume to be setting a trend. I've followed thsi stock for quite a while...road it down...a made a little money...been out of it for quite awhile.
I think it shares in the whole discounted chinese market. Lost of them are trading at ridiculously low PE ratios and some even have more cash on hand than value in share price. Some will continue to grow and prosper...others might take a while.
Regards,
Randy
Interesting poast downsideup. I think recognizing or even anticipating macro-economic trends and changes is huge.
I'm glad you've been hanging around and are willing to share your thoughts and experience. Stuff like this can't hardly fit into a system or algorythm.
Thanks and best regards.
Randy
Agreed. I think there are concerns that have been voiced about carrying current assets at more than current value...but as a value orientated firm time will prove to be their best friend.
Of course there's always the chance that life as we know it will change....but if we get through our current financial and credit problems I suspect LUK will do just fine.
Randy
A stock that I follow but don't own is FUQI. They're the 3rd largest jewelry wholesaler becoming retailer in China....
If I'm not mistaken I believe they fit your criteria of both reveneue growth and retained earnings as cash. I don't have time to confirm, but if memory serves me correct I think they have $5-6 cash and are trading at the level presently.
Randy
Mike, Thanks for your contributions to the board.
Also, thanks to Bell....I think we can all learn and benefit from the perspectives of each other.
Randy
LOL not that sounds more like my style.
My biggest blunder was National Scientific (NSCT) when I should have known better. I was in at a buck and change and the stock ran to $18 or $19. Supposedly they held the patent to the next generation of computer ram.
I didn't have but a couple thousand shares. I think I sold a hundred shares at $16 and then road the whole thing back down to single digits before I sold any more.
Oh what could have been. I did however learn a pretty valuable lesson. :)
Randy
Agreed. I was checking out your TZA and TNA and noticed that they are even tradable as options.
They carry a pretty huge premium either direction....but basically make a leveraged position even more leveragable with puts or calls.
My biggest hesitation with this stock and option play is that it's basically a coin flip. Sometimes the market does what you expect and sometimes it doesn't. I don't know what to think about the reports questioning Obama's citizenship, but if it would be heard I expect the markets will react strongly (downward) to any decision to hear the case. We shall see.
Either way, as I'm on the sidelines, it's pretty fun to watch this play and see what could have been. :)
Randy
Hey Boardmarks, I've basically been the bid on this stock for the last year or two....and built up a pretty sizable position. I've never left the offer sit at a penny for this long.
This is fair warning that I have a sell order in for another stock...if it executes I will be taking out the penny offer...or at least move up the bid a couple tenths, maybe both.
If you want these cheapies go ahead and grab them....if we ever hear anything from the company these low prices will likely be gone for ever. Yeah....at this point it sounds like a pretty big "IF" but the prospects are probably as hopeful now as ever.
Randy
Two things.....
1. I John is an epistle that needs to be read and reread by believers today. Powerful clear challenging.
2. In the first verses quoted above where it says that "Our hands have handled." The word here is my favorite greek word. I don't know but ever since I was in college (when I was taking greek) and had to translate this chapter (John rights in pretty simple language), the word for "to handle or touch" has stuck with me. This won't mean anything to you but it's the word "splanknizomai."
Just think about it...Christ isn't an idea or a concept he's a real person who was touched, held and touched and held others. He was here. He lived with us and.... [jumping to the Gospel of John 1) we "have beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father."
Now that's what Christmas is about....THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!
Have a great day.

Oh yeah...if you're reading I John don't miss Chapter 2 where it says:
"Do not love the world or the things of the world. Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity against God."
Powerful.
The question I'm weighing is whether this is the beginning of a major move up in share price or simply a little spike that will soon retrace. I wouldn't want to miss the opportunity to realize a gain in either case.
I posted a week or two ago that there seemed to be some fairly indescriminent (sp?) buying coming in...like someone was impatiently buying up shares.
If this keep trading, I will probably sell half to take my cost out and then let my free shares ride.
I remember one day a year or two ago the stock flew from 6-8 cents up to 18 cents....in a day and then backed off. It was at that moment my portfolio hit it's highest point ever.... and I've not gotten back there since.
If they could sign and announce a sizable government contract I think it could have a huge bull run. If it does the question becomes how far will it go and how long will it last.
Regards,
Randy
That's a pretty good question. I was reading on Yahoo Message Board and apparently some guy named JR Budke has been touting ESNR's potential via a pretty broad email blitz. He had this to say:
One of my favorite "Featured" stocks, Electronic Sensor Technology, Inc. (ESNR) (52 week range 0.005 - 0.19), now at $0.02, has been coming out with the kind of news that builds small companies into big ones. Recent news, all in about the last 4 weeks, tells us there was:
A big jump in revenues for the quarter;
A new distributor in Africa;
A report that the zNose® Detects Melamine in Milk Powder in Record Time;
A report of sales of 4 units to China on Nov.17:
A report of 5 units sold to China on Nov. 24, only one week later.
A growing company, with a strong product - a machine that can smell things that can hurt us, on food, land, air or water and trading near the all-time low.
ESNR is a place to be right now. The Stocks in the Spotlight has contracted to send investor ads to 2 million a day for the entire month of December. This program should introduce many more investors to the company and hopefully a strong increase in the stock price.
What makes it special is, it has the capability to move 100% on any given day and several hundred percent in a few months, and it can happen any time.
