YEAH BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111
wwwwoooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhoooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Unfrikenbelieveable.
I found a site last week that suggested deleting some registry keys, then I found the same suggestion today on the MSE Q&A site.
Search some more to learn how to back up the key I needed to delete.
Rolled up my sleeves and took the plunge.
Re-booted the computer and tried again for the umpteenth time to install MSE and wa-lah!
Presto.
I got my green tent flying the green flag icon back.
Thank you everybody so much for your patience and tolerance.
I'm so very happy.
The rest of the day is bonus time.
It's all good.
Thank you!
I'm going to be taking another whack at it today...
Had to take a little break from it, before I hired that duck that Bruce uses. LOL.
I did that 3 times on the first day of this wrestling match...
each time going a further day back to no avail.
If there is nothing wrong with the computer which seems to be the case, I was thinking about trying a different anti-virus.
At CNET.com, Avast, then AVG top their "free" list:
http://download.cnet.com/1770-20_4-0.html?query=anti-virus&rpp=10&searchtype=downloads&filter=platform%3DWindows%7ClicenseName%3D%22Free%22%7Cplatforms%3DWindows%2CWebware%7C&filterName=platforms%3DWindows%7ClicenseName%3DFree%7Cplatforms%3DWindows%2CWebware%7C&tag=pe-searchFacetsTile;navForm
I can recall using both in the past at some point. Then Microsoft Security Essentials became the top choice around here and until this past week, I've never had any issues with it. If I could get it to load, I'd stick with it.

I might be stressing out my brain for no reason...
What I really want to accomplish is to upgrade my Dream Machine, Bruce-built Terminator, from a 2GB of RAM Windows XP to an 8GB RAM Windows 7.
I just didn't count on screwing up my machine this week.
Bruce like this memory a year and a half ago:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145239&cm_re=corsair_2gb_ddr2_800-_-20-145-239-_-Product
I only see 33 feedbacks on it with a 4 egg rating.
The current memory leader at Newegg is this G.Skill with a 5 egg rating and nearly 2900 feedbacks:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231122
Dang...
sounded like a good idea. Didn't work. Easier to pick Nascar winners. LOL.
This is frustrating.
Everything seems to be correct and working normal, except that I don't have anti-virus protection.
Seems like it should a simple fix too. Like a light switch. Just turn the right thing on and I'll be back in business.
I need to figure out how to back up the registry because I think I'll be deleting things soon and more likely than not, I'll be deleting the wrong things.
The download runs...
to the point where it asks to install.
I click to begin the install, it runs for a bit then stops and the error pops up.
It never prompts to upgrade as this suggests:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2635095
I can only guess that there may be some lingering parts of the previous install in the registry that are preventing the new install.
Nope, no go...
I did as you suggested and still get the same result. It starts the install for a bit, then the rejection pop up comes up as identifies error code 0x80070645 as the reason.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2635095
This tells me it's during an upgrade, but to the best of my knowledge, everything related to MSE has been uninstalled. I'm in need of the clean install.
They did suggest going into the registry, but I'd hate to delete something I need.
I am pretty certain...
the old MSE is removed.
I was able to re-download Ccleaner.
Also downloaded Revo uninstaller, so downloading isn't the problem.
I will try your idea of downloading MSE to the thumb drive from this computer.
I told Bruce my computer still runs great.
That was the kiss of death.
I've heard enough positive things about CCleaner, so I downloaded it and ran it.
Big mistake.
Been fixing the computer for 2 days. I think it's in good shape, but I can not re-install Microsoft Security Essentials.
It downloads fine, but midway through installation, it stops and I get error code 0x80070645.
I've done all the suggestions, to no avail. Still can't load MSE.
Any ideas?
Hi Bruce...
Appleriver still runs great.
Never did add any memory.
Really no reason to fight success, but if I ever do, do you still like the idea of adding these if I upgrade the Windows XP to Windows 7 or Windows 8?

Heard you were pretty busy, no need for a quick response. Hope all is well!
Below that...
SPX 1330
Slept like a baby this past weekend...
No pacing in the middle of the night.
No running back to the internet with the latest, greatest idea.
No endless hours studying the practice sessions.
No scribbling car numbers on my study sheet.
No reviewing past winners on whatever track was on deck.
No nothing.
No race.
No fun.
Actually had to talk with Mo.
Do you know what she said??
How soon to Daytona?
The check is in the mail.
Thanks JK!
Can we have your offensive line?
We don't have one.
Go Bears.
Gotta be jr. Right?
Let me explain...
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=78285626
For those that actually read the board, I explained that ALL the teams that play against the Bears suck.
Simply put, the Vikings are next. This was my "attack".
Evidently somebody got their shorts in a bunch without fully realizing the context of my post.
Now I see my post was deleted.
Nice.
Real nice.
Evidently, you didn't happened to notice all the "attacks" that got shot my way as a Democrat on a predominately republican board during the last few months.
Good grief is right.
Ask him where he is from...
everything will be crystal clear then.
Hey Spinner1...
let's get something clear.
I am from Chicago. That means if you are from elsewhere, you suck.
Secondly, I am a football fan.
Minnesota is our next opponent. That means they suck and so does everybody that comes from Minnesota.
This has been my light-hearted attempt at humor since the football season started.
Please try not to read any more into it then that.
Are you by chance from Green Bay? Nothing personal. Just need to know.
I hope the Bears stopped by an old folks home on the way back home and beat up some old ladies.
Nothing personal, just need to regain a little confidence.
LOL...
take your time.
I'll keep watching my Bears in the mean time.
Did they look as bad as I think they did last night?
Are you saying I should have read the iBox??

Thanks capgain!
Only 98 more days until Daytona 500 2013!
Thank you for keeping the heat on...
I lost a lot of sleep this weekend. LOL. You kept me honest and I'm glad nothing was decided until the last lap. That's the way it's meant to be.
This was so much fun...
thank you very much for letting me in your game.
Many thanks to all who played and BIG TIME kudos go out to the moderators for putting in their extra hard work so we can all have fun!
I think I am happier then Brad Keselowski.
I will have to schedule a CAT scan thanks to Jimmy Johnson.
Please change and take off the 2 and add the 56. Thanks!
Yes. Change my picks please. 2-18-48 thanks.
Nooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They crashed at practice.

Cleaned it up...
with Advanced System Care, Glary, Malwarebytes.
Also defragged.
I think the problem might be with PCPitstop. Not sure why it would score so low.
Running fine and probably running better with all the cleanup.
Question on slow PCPitstop scores...
My daughter's laptop is 11 months old. She is in town for the holiday.
Scanned her laptop at PCPitstop and her scores are significantly slower then when she first got it.
CPU speed, RAM speed, Video speed, Bandwidth down speed are all half or more slower.
In the "Fixes" it doesn't show anything wrong.
Any ideas?
Thank you.
Say Hi to Bruce for me! Thanks!
Not rocket science...
but I like a gap down, then a rip down kerplunk.
Then the rat-tail reversal to really dishearten the longs who were positioned correctly, but got stopped out first.
That's how I'd do it if I was the controller of the price.
Collect those long side stops on the way down so you can flip off the suckers on the way back up.
