Hey, he called me a private pilot.
Because earnings are coming out tomorrow. Implied volatility generally spikes just prior to an earnings release.
Where is fung_derf?
My fund would probably end up like this:
If bashers wouldn't bash, and the shorts would just keep their clothes on, we could all be rich???
While it might not necessarily be perfectly applicable to that MLP, the existence of 'Penny Stockholm Syndrome' has been well documented by a few of the regulars on the DD board.
"it has dropped from $18 to $3 in 15 months"
Well, obviously it must only have dropped because you 'bashed' it.
I've started hearing the "This Time It's Different" line lately from some on the various business oriented programs.
And in a lot of respects, it is different. We have unprecedented economic stimulus payments being sent to people, what are really kind of generous unemployment benefits, eviction moratoriums, etc. Without debating the rightness or wrongness of such programs one must wonder if people, instead of working or paying rent, aren't bidding asset prices into an unsustainable 'bubble'?
So while the "This Time It's Different" might apply to the cause of the bubble I'm worried that "The Result Remains the Same" might apply a little later on?
Private Pilot? I'm an ATP and A&P with Inspection Authorization.
If you've relocated to Texas, I'm going to have to hand you off to my good friend:

You gotta be nuts to buy fuel at Palwaukee anyway. Campbell is probably about half the price per gallon. Not only that, but on top of the fuel price the FBOs are going to jack you with exorbitant fees.
And I'm not a Biden fan in any way shape or form. I'm a rock solid Republican.
Admittedly, Biden fails in that he doesn't seem to have his priorities as well ordered as his predecessor:
My cats tipped me off there was a bat flying around my house tonight.
You know what? There was.
Cats are actually a superior intelligence. Both of my cats know it.
Where is the Central Scrutinizer when we need him?
As far as the solar farms, I'm 100% behind them. But the way the Illinois program is currently set up, it rewards solar farms built way out in the boonies, far from current infrastructure.
Contractors are cashing in on laying a layer of chips and setting up power lines across a cornfield to reach a solar farm being built in a creek bottom. Until there are panels covering the remote parking lots at O'Hare and Midway (a little closer to where the energy is being consumed) I've got an issue. Taxpayer money is being wasted.
There has been a sort of competition from right leaning politicians to try to grab Trump's "base".
My own thought is most of these people were "apolitical" prior to Trump showing up. And I think they're going to go back to that.
In fact, the true believers are bailing on Trump now over his failure to descend onto the inauguration in a ball of light (Glinda style) crushing Biden and Harris and leaving Roberts with no choice but to go ahead and swear in Trump for a second term.
And ahhh, raw potatoes. Sliced, leave the skin on. Delicious.
Lindsey Graham is just wrong. Real Republicans want Trump excised. Gone.
Maybe it was Harold Camping that faked his own death?

A couple sojourns in Sri Lanka.
But mostly a month in Jakarta. But there I found a small grocery in town and on the shelf was Skippy Peanut Butter! And on a trip out to the countryside there were kids running a stand selling sweet corn ears - Might as well have been in Earlville!! You can't imagine my thrill when I realized I wasn't going to have to starve to death!!!
Well, of course not. She's not Trump.
This isn't a political commentary, just a market observation. Biden sets a modern day record for market performance between election and inauguration.
It's whose record he broke that's interesting:

Yeah, guess it was a pretty lonely departure at Andrews and arrival at Palm Beach...
You ahhh, notice I never chimed in on the curry conversation?
I don't know, I'll eat left-over spaghetti. Just wet the noodles a little bit, and put 'em in the - wait for it-
MICROWAVE!
Post still marked...
Nope.
Sorry, I just eat 'em plain with the skin.
Seriously though, if they have spuds on them that are showing green you need to cut them off. They have the nightshade toxin.
And spaghetti is always better the next day.
Potatoes come out of the microwave *perfect*. Nothing extra need be added.
On the grill you need foil, but it's vented. The outcome is not as certain as the microwave, but still works as long you pay attention.
Paloma's mom was married to Jonas Salk (polio vaccine).
Not sure what brought that up. But anyway, I think microwaves were invented specifically for potatoes.
On the grill, I do wrap them in foil.
And I always eat the whole thing. All the vitamins and minerals are in the skin.
And by the way, Paloma had a pretty significant connection to virus vaccines...
LOL!
Being less evil doesn't make something unevil.
Unevil - Would I get away with using that playing Scrabble?
Both National Committees are loaded toward polarization. One statistic that stands out (but seems the most overlooked) in recent national polling is the number of people who declare as "independent". That means neither party is appealing to these people.
I think if you listen to McConnell's remarks, he is going to vote to convict. But decorum prevents him from saying so prior to the "trial".
And if McConnell goes that way, so will the rest of the moderate to conservative Republican senators because it will mean the RNC is going to get tipped to a more moderate to conservative stance. Everyone is afraid to cross the RNC because of it's radical right stance.
By the way, the National Committees are a problem both parties share.

I broke a couple of my own rules when I sold them.
First was that the best case would have only given me 8% annualized return. I usually don't mess with anything less than 10%.
The second was that using the escape hatch (rolling down and out) meant that I would have to keep that money there for an indeterminant amount of time just to stay even.
So I took my lumps and bought them back. It's the beginning of earnings season and there are better places to deploy the cash.
Will Biden take the oath of office outside? On the west porch of the Capitol??
"Gwyneth Paltrow's 'vagina' candle reportedly explodes in UK woman's home"
Ya know ahhh, that's a little more information than I really need...
While almost no one in government spends money by the rules anymore, the fact is that although the President is "Commander in Chief" it's the Congress that would have to appropriate the funds.
