Thanks Mars, Don't know why but when I'm short stocks like RIMM I'm usually trying to play the top of a blowout and expecting it to fail pretty quick. When it doesn't, I usually bail.

I should be so cautious on my longs, then I wouldn't have so many tax losses. Just my nature I'm afraid.

Mars your one of the all-time greatest daytrade chart jockeys I have followed in my 10 years + online. There is no debate on that point and I'm pretty sure 99% agree with me.

I do have a 2 questions you may care to address,

1.What type of deviation do you require to negate or reverse a trade say like ss Rimm at 138. friday? Weren't we getting ready to flush that one when it broke 125?

2. Why the focus on these high flyers, RIMM etc? Do they tend to mirror mkt ebbs and flows better on a daily basis rather than stealth growth stocks like GROW which ran 50 to 62 back to 55 and closed near 66....but is as manipulated as they get.

Penny, if you go to yahoo and search the full company name you'll get the us otc symbol (if there is one) for a canadian stock.
For some reason Ameritrade search won't work but etrades usually does. Yahoo almost always does.

I own qute a few and the us price is now about 13% lower than the $C price. (Stockhouse lets you convert currencies). But you have to pay up a penny or two to bribe the dealer to buy and you'll seldom sell at the high.

Century Mining CMM.V is my largest holding and the us is CMNZF.pk (not that you should join us us-stuckholders).

I have come to believe that some companies (not all) are closely tied to certain MMs. That news events are pre-scheduled
as a means to fund raising (selling shares being about the only way these small pinkies and bbs can raise funds)and the surges in volume after breakouts is where they sell and/or mms short. Breakout follow good news and sure as GOD made little green apples price rises seldom hold for long.

Bad news like (quarterly filings) law suits, etc may be shocking to us but not insiders or there sponcering mms. When a company wants to go public in these markets they have to first find a mm that is willing to file the application and agree to make a mkt in the stock. It stands to reason the companies and the mms are closer than we think.

A real case to study might be SLJB or CSHD. Where did they come from and how did they get here.

For instance if you were trying to get your company to be approved for trading by an MM (the first step) he might ask you whats your prospects were, who are your connections, mgt., etc. in short will the public buy into your ideas.

I would like to listen in to one of these interviews, bet it would really be shocking. Just my opinion of course.

However after the honeymoon is over the mgrs have to dig in a produce some positive results or sink. Those are the ones to watch.

I think following closely the pinksheet.com list is as good a way as any to find sleepers. With all this gravel there's got to be some gold.
