IFLI getting whopped -$4, What were they thinking?
International Fight League, Inc. (OTCBB: IFLI), the world's first team-based
professional mixed martial arts sports league, announced today that it has
entered into definitive private placement agreements with certain institutional
and accredited investors to sell 19,376,000 shares of common stock, at a price
of $1.25 per share. IFL expects that the net proceeds of the private placement
will be approximately $22 million after deducting the placement agency fees and
all estimated offering expenses.
"We are delighted that we were able to complete this financing at this very
important time in the company's development. This new capital will assist us in
funding our growth," said IFL CEO Gareb Shamus. "We are excited about the
quality of the investors and their show of support for our company, its
management team and the sport of mixed martial arts," Shamus added.
The shares of common stock have not been registered under the Securities Act,
or any state securities laws, and were issued in a private transaction under
Regulation D. The Company has agreed to file a registration statement with the
Securities and Exchange Commission covering the resale by the investors of the
privately placed common stock. Until this registration is declared effective by
the SEC, the shares of common stock may not be reoffered or resold in the
United States unless the re-offer or resale is registered or unless exemptions
from the registration requirements of the Securities Act and applicable state
laws are available.

SciClone Pharmaceuticals Inc. (SCLN) and Sigma-Tau SpA said interim survival
data from a Phase II study of a combination treatment for stage IV malignant
melanoma showed positive results.
SciClone, a San Francisco drug marketer, and Sigma-Tau, a privately held
Italian company, said Friday the addition of Zadaxin, or thymalfasin, to a
standard dacarbazine chemotherapy increased median patient survival to 10.2
months, according to results from the first four arms of an ongoing, five-arm
study.
By contrast, the median survival rate for patients with the most advanced
form the malignant skin cancer who are treated with standard chemotherapy and
interferon alpha was 6.6 months, SciClone said.
The company said it would meet with U.S. and European regulators to discuss
launching a Phase III clinical trial of Zadaxin, which received orphan-drug
designation in March 2006.
About 7,700 people a year die from malignant melanoma in the U.S.
Separately, SciClone said its board adopted a stock-purchase rights plan to
guard against any potential use of takeover tactics designed to gain control of
SciClone without paying all stockholders full and fair value.

Right on Mars. Not only is this thread entertaining, its one of the few live real time boards for daytraders. Daytrading is a luxury I permit myself to enjoy because I enjoy the game. I wouldn't even try to explain why to my step-brother who believes there are only ten stocks in this world one should own.
Then again hes married to a very rich ugly woman who bought him a nice boat, so we have different ideas on everytrhing.

Excuse me if this was posted here before but just saw it elswwhere myself.
BEIJING, CHINA -- Sources with a U.S. Delegation in Beijing have told The Hal Turner Show the Chinese government has informed visiting Bush Administration officials they intend to dump One TRILLION U.S. Dollars from China's Currency Reserves and convert those funds into Euros!
China was allegedly asked to withhold the announcement until Bullion Markets closed for the weekend to prevent an instant spike in gold and silver prices. This delay will give the world the weekend to consider appropriate actions rather than have a knee-jerk reaction which could see the U.S. Dollar totally collapse in value Monday.
According to this Senior source, China told the U.S. delegation they no longer have faith in U.S. Currency for several reasons:
1) The Federal Reserve Bank ceased publishing "M3" data in March, making it nearly impossible for anyone to know how much cash is being printed. China said this act made it impossible to tell how much a Dollar is worth.
2) The U.S. Dollar has lost upwards of thirty percent (30%) of its value against other foreign currencies in the recent past, meaning China has lost almost $300 Billion simply by holding U.S. Dollars in its reserves.
3) The U.S. has no plans whatsoever to reduce deficit spending or ability pay down any of its existing debt without printing money to pay it off.
For these reasons China has decided to implement an aggressive sell-off of U.S. Dollars before the rest of the world does so. China reportedly told the US delegation; "we are the largest holder of U.S. Currency and if the rest of the world unloads theirs before we unload ours, we will lose our shirts."
Early this week, in an unusual move, the Bush administration sent virtually the entire economic "A-team" to visit China for a "strategic economic dialogue" in Beijing Dec. 14 and 15.
Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke lead the delegation, along with five other cabinet-level officials, including Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez. Also in the delegation is Labor Secretary Elaine Chao, Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt, Energy Secretary Sam Bodman, and U.S. Trade Representative Susan Schwab.
The Bush administration wanted to get China's cooperation in preventing a dollar collapse. The Hal Turner Show has been told the effort failed.
According to the source, Fed Chairman Bernanke left the meeting "pale and in a cold sweat" as the implications of China's decision seemed to sink in.
The implications are enormous: The U.S. Dollar is likely to collapse in value against all other major currencies as early as Monday, December 18.
This would cause a worldwide sell-off of dollars, create almost immediate "hyper-inflation" in the US and also impact world markets at a level "worse than the Great Depression of 1929."

If I had waited could had a sunday too. aapl $86
But MPEL made up for it.
AAGH, I don't trust any of them but i'm back in to my original postion at .027.
They just increased the OS and killed it but I have not seen any new aquistions and they did have a good report last.
The "massive" in the last pr means to me they are in the hype mode... not a good sign but its pretty cheap here.
Smoke
I shorted GIFI from Stoxx list just under 40, but it was slow, slow going, but its look overbought even at $37.
Smoke
Freto, AAGH could be bottoming here. Lots of bag holders but I've been pretty lucky with it. Any hint of a bottom?
Smoke
IFLI couldn't resist this early weakness. AAGH getting whoopped good bought some back at .027. And EGDI just out of respect.

I'm following up on this and will post anything new.
Last stupid question for 2006 I hope.
I have twice tried to download the photoshop trial. Its a big file and it timed out the last try. So the first try loaded but never opened so was not installed. Where is that file probably held, and can I dumop it whithout screwing up my laptop?
Can't find it anywhere, must be in a temp folder.
Smoke
Just one other i'm in that might fly someday. IGTG which has a new product and down from recent surge to .18. This is one of the stocks that I think the MMs will bid up so the MGT can raise some $. Then it back to the hopper like now, but this thing can fly and I'm way ahead on it overall... sold near .40 all my trading shares.
Smoke
LLLI, Just so nobody gets the wrong idea, this has been a super dog for me, after being a great trader. Got hung up near .53 but watched it trickle down and now think it might turn. Then it might not but its a long ball game I play with stocks I like.
Over the last several months there have been PR's about distributors but notice never a follow up. Then they file a quarterly report and the CEO is talking about "margins" when I think he is meaning "Gross Sales". which were not as good as the previous quarter (which I think was a record)but MGT. said nothing.
I posted a link to a company in texas (under the llli board)that makes a very popular derringer whcih announced a colaboration with LLLI. The texas company has a great dealer network, so if they came up with some household weapon (non Lethal but big enough to scare and powerful enough to do the job) everything else is in place for this to go.
Smoke
SG that news was a week or so ago, but seems to be firming up. .16 looks like the wall.
LLLI chart might show up good, been a bagholder for awhile and its announced there first ever military sale recently.
Smoke
Freto, I played CPYE on a blind buy with no news and it worked but having no reason why, I cashed in. It spiked before but no with this volume.
Your charts BTW are the best I have ever seen. The landscape with the brown, blue and pink really tell the story. NICE!
Smoke
Thanks Mars, ZVUE no doubt is getting some good directions on these acquistions perhaps from their ties to google. Now if they can get some celebrities photographed using their zvues this game may get more interesting.
Smoke
Thanks for that idea. Seems like the deep discount may/june puts might be the play. Its amazing how many lead balloons are soaring now, guess we have forgotten 2001.
IFLI guy got interviewed on cnbc friday am, and I'm half watching it while searching for a trade. $8 something to $12 then flew to $15 on 2pm surge.
Expecting another SKYMALL rocket soon. Maybe ZVUE signs three major retailers, get interview on 20/20 where 16 million viewers rush out the next morning...etc
