I suffer from that same "foot in mouth" disease. I am also glad that she called because she happens to be a very good doctor. It was really the receptionist that set me off. She had an attitude and therefore so did I.

My rant for the day!
Why is it that a doctor thinks her time is more valuable than mine???? I had a 12:45 appointment today at the doctor. I normally wouldn’t schedule an appointment for during the work day because I hate the pressure of having to get back to the office. This appointment was made for me because the doctor had to cancel the last one I had (after work hours) because she was sick.
I got there at 12:40 and proceeded to wait and wait and wait! At about 1:05 the nurse said that I shouldn’t have to wait much longer. At this point, I was still calm.
At 1:20 I was no longer calm. I walked up to the receptionist and said that I would have to reschedule since I had to get back to work. At this point, if she was smart she would have just smiled and said, “ok, when would you like to come in?”. She didn’t. She gave me a “face” and said, “why didn’t you call ahead to see if the doctor was running on time?”. This hit a nerve with me and I lost it! My response was to ask her why she didn’t call me and tell me that the doctor was running late! She said “oh no, we don’t do that”. I said, “Of course you don’t because the doctor’s time is more valuable than my time”. She said, “That’s not what I said”. I looked her straight in the eye and said “That’s exactly what you said”.
With that, I walked out without making another appointment.
Damn, she happens to be a good doctor too!

Don't know if this constitutes a rant or not but it's advice anyway.
Don't ever pay to have something sent overnight delivery via Fedex or Airborne. Use second day air.
This week I had the opportunity to send 2 things out second day air with Fedex. One of them got there the next day and it cost half the price.
I also ordered something yesterday and had them ship it Airborne 2nd day delivery. It just came five minutes ago.
Had I requested next day delivery, it would have cost a lot more.
