I've been unable to post since this morning as I had reached my 15 post limit for the day.
A couple of things.
1. I just re-read the last quarterly report and management comments.
You said there was no debt earlier, but the loans to Jesse Lerman and accumulated deficits come to around $17 million I believe. That will eventually have to be repaid and in fact could be called pretty much at any time.
Now this may be an important project for him, and he may be willing to keep funding the losses (or not) should anything happen to him, those loans could well be called and put the company under.
Also the smaller part of their business is declining because cable companies are moving to two way communications.
2. How many shares are on the bid and ask right now?
3. With virtually no shares trading in over a year, how are people supposed to get in or out of this? What an odd situation.
4. If someone is shorting, wouldn't they be happy to sell lower and lower and take the share price to zero?
I'm just trying to educate myself. Thanks for your help.
You say that no one knows about this company. But everyone in the industry must be familiar with them. You'd think they'd be the first ones to buy in if they thought highly of the company.
What's keeping the Comcasts and the 500 stations now using their system from becoming shareholders?
I don't have Level II. What are the bid and ask size?
Every co-sponsor of the bill is a Democrat. You need to talk to your Congressman to push this.
H.R. 3745:
CAP Act
111th Congress
This is a bill in the U.S. Congress originating in the House of Representatives ("H.R."). A bill must be passed by both the House and Senate and then be signed by the President before it becomes law.
Bill numbers restart from 1 every two years. Each two-year cycle is called a session of Congress. This bill was created in the 111th Congress, in 2009-2010.
The titles of bills are written by the bill's sponsor and are a part of the legislation itself. GovTrack does not editorialize bill summaries.

This bill is in the first step in the legislative process. Introduced bills and resolutions first go to committees that deliberate, investigate, and revise them before they go to general debate. The majority of bills and resolutions never make it out of committee. [Last Updated: Dec 9, 2009 6:39AM]

I'm sure that if it reaches Obama he will sign it.
But you never know as Republicans don't like public television and are trying to cut spending too.
Do you know where the bill stands now?
Thanks fo helping me get educated on PEG television.
You mention that they have bandwidth for 5000 stations. I thought the bandwidth was provided by local cable providers. Why do they need bandwidth?
Here is the CAP act dealing with new PEG rules.
http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bill=h111-3745
The bill has been introduced but not yet gone to committee.
It's a long way before it goes to Obama for signature, if it ever happens. As the article states, most bills never go to a vote.
I have no idea what the chances are of this becoming law. Do you?
You're obviously oversimplifying when you say 5 minutes.
Does the Obama bill provide funding too?
If not that's another hurdle when every organization is in deficit. If they get any systems installed in 12 months that would be optimistic.
Has the bill passed congress?
So what would each system cost?
How long do you expect it to take to reach 1000 customers from the current 500?
Are those 500 paying $1000 a month?
So what does a typical system cost?
You said that they are giving their equipment away and collecting monthly fees.
What is THEIR cost of providing a typical system. This is a cost that they have to eat and recover over time. Right?
Thanks for your response.
More questions
In your response could you use paragraphs with spaces between them? Makes it much easier to read.
1. You say they have bought PEG TV stations. First, what does PEG stand for?
2. What did they pay for the 500 stations that they own?. Does TEVE own those stations? If they do they're not mentioned on their web site.
3. How much did they receive for the system they sold to Comcast , Time-Warner and NBC recently? You mention that they've been giving away the equipment. If they are giving away the equipment where do their revenues come from? The monthly payments?
4. You say that you THINK there is a 3 million short position. How do you KNOW?
5. You mention that Gerry Lenfest is a nice guy and form what I've read there is no question of that. But this appears to be a pet project that he's been funding for a decade. Should something happen to him who is going to continue funding this?
6. How many stations have they signed up for their products, other than their own stations
7. Once again - to become profitable, they have to generate at least ten million a year in sales. If they're giving away their equipment, they'll need to sign up 1000 stations paying $1000 a month to reach that figure. How are they going to that in the next year?
A comment. Their web site is very impressive but to the layman almost totally incomprehensible. I'm an engineer but have never heard of hyper something broadcasting. I read sentences full of industry jargon. After reading it all I still had little idea what their products did, where they were used and how they were better than existing equipment.
They need to provide clearer info to potential investors. What they have is probably great for the industry.
Thanks
If only it were a penny. lol
You got me doing some DD.
I have a few questions.
1. What is the size of the market for their products?
2. Who are the major competitors?
3. How can they move from losing a few mill a year on sales of 4 million to profits in one or two quarters?
4. How are they going to become profitable when they have something like $17 million in accumulated losses owed to the majority shareholder?
5. What national network have they built that you talk about? I thought their products were for standalone operations. Why a network?
6. What happens if anything happens to the majority shareholder? Who is going to continue funding the company?
7. How do you know this is being shorted?
If you think I have been standing up for Kanno, let me just say that I have not.
I have tried to get information from him on what's happening to keep myself informed and I've posted that information for others.
As I have said for some time, things are not going well and may not go anywhere as they have no money and their comm unit has not been submitted for approval.
He last claimed that things may go ahead next year.
By passing on his message, I'm in no way supporting or endorsing what Kanno has said. I have no way of varifying anything.
I'll just stop posting what I learn if that is construed as in any way supporting or promoting the company.
I've probably lost more here than anyone else. So I'm not happy.
It may be nicer but it probably won't happen for a while. So if you want info you have no other option but to call him.
Phone him and you'll get an update.
There's nothing to throw and no news to tell you about.
It's dead for now at least.
I was thinking of doing the same thing last week but didn't think there'd be any buyers.
I agree with you Irish. It would take a miracle now to revive this thing.
I don't know what happened with SWS. All I know is that the president of SWS was pretty pissed about the whole thing after the termination.
They claim to have sales but no sign of any financials.
Hmmmm.
Nothing has changed since my post of 12 days ago. Nothing till next year.
I don't expect any signficant developments or announcements this year based on a chat with Naiel Kanno although he says he is working hard to gain value for shareholders and himself as the largest shareholder in IP.
At least we know he has more at stake here than anyone else.
Frnakie, why don't you call Kanno and let him know we all feel about the lack of info?
Frankie, is that you buying today?
I was wondering what had happened to Kouros. He's been absent for some time. That's probaby why Kanno is trying to get Wi-Fi to complete the ZAP unit. But that's months behind what Kanno told me would be the submission date back in July.
So you may well be right that it's over.
Why doesn't Kanno simply admit it then? What does he have to gain at this point with trading halded in BC?
I talked to Micro-Tech and after much promting said that iPackets was on the second floor, but he wasn't too certain or convincing.
Microtech has been in their current offices for years, so it doesn't make sense that iPackets was ever in the downstairs offices. Have you confirmed that they are not upstairs?
Yes, lots of cars but the parking lot serves several offices. They're on the second floor apparently.
Goodle still seems to have some bugs with addresses. This points at the wrong address/building.
To find the right building move the little yellow man above the + sign to the end of the road with the A just into the river and then look to the right. You'll see a number of two-storey buildings. One of those facing the street should be iPackets, although can't see their name on the building.
The iPackets office is somewhere between the two ends of this bulding, although their name is not on the building. If you don't get an image of a bulding then move the little yellow character above the + - symbol to zoom in and out to the A to view the image.
Nice spot. It's right next to the Fraser River. If you swing the camera around you can see the river and then zoom in on the mountains just north of Vancouver.

You can use your mouse to navigate around and by double clicking on the roadway move the image along. The + and - let you zoom in and out.
Nice google tool
They'd have to file financials going back a couple of years. I don't think they have the money to do that or the incentive until they have MSHA approved equipment and some contracts.
If that never happens it would just be a waste of money. Doing so now is pointless as the share price isn't going to go anywhere anyway till they get approvals and contracts.
Yes, we're up 100% on a $300 splurge!
I think it's way past due, but Kanno seems not to want to post anything unless it's significant. Since there is nothing of significance to announce he hasn't posted anything.
We know what's going on so what difference would it make to have it posted on their website saying we're working but there is nothing to announce?
He and Wi-Fi say not, but who knows. As of September 21, at least.
They're supposedly working on getting the ZAP unit ready to submit to MSHA for approval.
It's OUR board. He's moderating it for all of us.
I agree. It's probably dead. So? Accept it and either sell or wait. What's the point of these weekly compaints? Boring.
That's what happens where there are no buyers or sellers.
Post away my friend, post away.
