The optics, as they say, are not optimal when one person bears 3 positions within a company and is the CEO or head honcho of a company and a supplier/service provider.
I choose words somewhat carefully and have been consistently not accusing LP and nwbo/advent of actual malfeasance, however innocent or not, the governance structure is not optimal in appearance and in how an analysis would rank it compared to other corporations.
Since I’m very long time investor in nwbo and among LP’s top fans, I want the best and believe the best, however we should acknowledge different perceptions even when we may know better.
Doc,
Thanks for the perspective around protection and defense. I forgot about the purposeful distribution of strategic assets!
It does however look like questionable governance.
Hoff, I’m a big LP believer from a long time, however her Achilles heel has been the appearance of having less than pristine and transparent management and business structures and relationships.
What PM is gleaming from the limited financials isn’t helping to debunk the implications of self-dealing profiteering, and I truly hope there’s nothing untoward going on, however I wish LP would just clean up governance once and for all!
I imagine the nyse/ase/nasdaq up listing would question the governance of nwbo and related entities, and LP holding many positions and interests. Cleaning this up might be a prerequisite for an up listing and perhaps a reason for nwbo to merge with advent?
Contrary to popular belief, the booth is the same booth, nwbo has a multi year deal and keeps the booth contents there locally instead of starting over each year.
What you point out is why I’m still thinking HyGrow is AF under a pseudonym.
Paranoia or reality?
If it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck, it’s probably a duck - Quaaaaaaacccckkkkkk!!!!!!
Exactly what I was suggesting, that BP might not want to draw positive attention to dcvax at this time, possibly weakening their own position!
Hey, if Merck is going to be on Squawk Box, then maybe a tweet to Joe Kernan, to ask Merck about dendritic cell vaccine combo investigation with UCLA, might be a catalyst….
However, executives and lawyers always say you shouldn’t ask a question that you don’t know for sure what the answer is going to be!
There was a back and forth debate between an nwbo/dcvax friendly and Joe Kiernan (sp?) of Squawk Box (6am et) about a month or so ago on Twitter.
Joe implied CNBC isn’t about to risk their reputation/credibility by discussing a sub dollar otc stock on air.
It would be an interesting turn of events if Merck is on Squawk Box tomorrow morning and Joe happens to bring up DCVax/nwbo despite his previous position that CNBC wouldn’t.
Stranger things have happened, however I think the Vegas odds makers have this as a low probability event.
But you never know
Nwbo may not want to be completely bought out.
We don’t know if Merck and/or other BP already made offers or tested nwbo’s interest.
Applying my simplistic thinking, by now, with a successful phase3 trial, peer reviewed journal article, and incredible early indications from combo testing, a BP would want to own or control DCVax by now. On the other hand, nwbo would likely be looking to be the popular kid that everyone wants to play with, so partnerships, licensing/royalties would probably be preferred, imho.
Tonight on Mad Money, Cramer interviewed the CEO of Fisher Scientific, I think.
At one point the mRNA vaccine effort towards cancer treatment was mentioned, and Cramer directly asked about the prospect for a personalized cancer vaccine.
Clearly, Cramer either wasn’t thinking about or know DCVax, or maybe he doesn’t consider nwbo seriously, possibly tainted by his ex employee AF.
It was the perfect opportunity for DCVax to have been mentioned instead of the mRNA approach that isn’t available and may not be efficacious!
Had the following thought tonight: could the pd1 players (Merck, BMS, etc.) be hesitant to bring attention to dcvax/Murcidencel, despite the incredibly promising early indications, because it would be introducing a new player into the big time before combo efficacy is well understood and locked up?
I mean suppose it turns out a pd1 element of the combo isn’t the significant driver of efficacy in the combo or that other pd1 elements work better in combo than a given pd1 element.
As a pd1 player I might not go out of my way to say hey, lookie here!, until more is understood about the combo efficacy results, or I might be motivated to buy or somehow lockup DCVax (nwbo or rights) before it gets into a competitor’s hands and possibly be left out of the action.
I think that if I was a big pharma with oncology business line I would be motivated to try to control DCVax while it may be possible. Nwbo may not want to lose that control and stay in the driver’s seat.
Let’s just say my background check went all the way back to my birth in Sicily and I never mishandled any highly classified documents, and I have no plans to ever visit any communist countries
I couldn’t knock down those clowns either!
I tried shooting indoors for a while but it didn’t offer the challenge and odd satisfaction of taking out a thin stem with a tiny BB from 35-40 feet diagonally and watching the tulip drop! Is that weird?
I was also very good at shooting the fake ducks at the Olde Smithville NJ village game booth.
UCLA most likely does since they need to produce vaccine for their experimental work. Kings, idk.
My specialty at Jenkinsons boardwalk was the shoot the water gun into the clown’s mouth to make the balloon explode game.
Had good aim and a steady hand from practice shooting out the stems of my dad’s tulips in the garden from two porches up! I might have had a promising career as a sharp shooter. Of course a Daisy BB rifle is a whole lot different than a 30-06!
I believe the sp is artificial because it is being clamped within a very narrow range. Too precise and narrow for a typical sp, even when there is good action.
I stopped watching the trade by trade action, however when I would scrutinize it I’d see every move up countered by moves down keeping the price clamped as is easy to see when you examine the intraday sp graphs.
We need overwhelmingly positive action to push the price higher and even then they can manipulate the trading with naked shorts and messing with the buys. Hopefully the law suit has some effect and continued data gathering.
I wasn’t arguing just expanding on factors affecting timing and quantity of production/storage/distribution sites and rationale. I’ll reread the posts however I don’t think I disagreed with you, rather addressing the third party, if I’m remembering accurately.
Also, only relating to the first DCVax L approvals. Later, if and when approvals for other indications arise, these other indications could potentially involve much larger numbers of patients to be treated and production will need to scale greatly. But that’s probably a couple years away unless a broad approval is granted, and even under that circumstance you’d think some proof of efficacy would be needed.
Maybe Dr Bosch should be made aware of your nonsense since you’re falsely maligning an honorable man, Doctor and scientist?
I think that’s slander and/or libel?
While I think the technology exists to produce vaccine in a distributed network of sites, imo there are very strong reasons to self limit production to as few as two sites initially and possibly for a long time if ever distributed production at more than 2, max of 3, production facilities.
Quality production and storage of priceless vaccine and tissue, and the transportation means, is extremely important. Quality must be maintained at the highest level before, during, and after, vaccine is produced. It’s much easier to focus on a couple of production and distribution infrastructure than the loss of control, complications, and increased chances of errors and/or incidents, and probably less costly as well.
More sites, more people, more local managements, more differences of all types, to deal with and not be subject to all manner of anomalies.
More space/cryogenics and replication to drive costs up as well.
Sometime in the future with years of experience under one’s belt the assessment may change, but for now and the first years of production sticking with at most 2 production sites is best imo, and why increase the overhead and difficulty if production capacity is enough?
HGr is taking the approach that if you keep repeating the same false narrative it eventually winds up being believed.
That might have been gaining traction in politics for a while but like on this board, eventually debunking the falsehoods with evidence exposes the BS and the BS artists for what they are!
If anything it seems like a growing number of people are having enough of their pockets cleaned out by being cheated by the good old boys of the market.
They can all be like Nero, playing their own tune while their Rome burns all around them.
The fire is lit, it is spreading, and they can sing post hoc until it’s all over but in the end murcidencel is approved as it should and needs to be.
That’s all BS and you know it.
They always try to remove as much of the tumor as possible, not a biopsy, and the comparators have been put together to get as valid as possible.
I won’t waste my time and posts on your nonsense anymore.
Only 27?
How do you live with your self
Correction, more likely every day!
Scotty, you know better than that hogwash.
MIA and MAA both this 1Q2023 !
You are correct! The boiling water remains at 212 degrees F
BB for President! Any seconds for the nomination?
Plain good sense for a better system and stronger nation!
Brooklyn’s one and only L&B Spumoni Gardens pizza for me, followed by the namesake Spumoni ice in those little paper cups from which you wind up squeezing and chewing the very last of the melted Spumoni ice!
That tends to be the behavior before revolutions, like in Cuba before Castro.
It’s not certain who’s going to win, the retail uprisers or the cheating fat cats, but the problem is starting to get exposure and awareness.
As an nwbo shareholder I can live with a settlement however the larger scope opportunity is to get change to improve the marketplace in general.
I dare say the makings of a perfect storm in favor of nwbo/murcidencel is upon us!!!
Manufacturing at scale imminent
Breakthrough results reviewed/published
Awareness increasing greatly
Patient demand increasing
Shot across bow of the MMs/Cabal with possible settlement/damages award
Swelling of public opinion against MMs cheating the system and robbing retail
MIA any day
MAA asap after MIA
Regulators aligned on significant factors
What remains is for the knob to be turned from warm to HOT!!!
Me thinks LP is taking the “how do you boil a frog approach.”
Slowly raising the heat until the MMs, I mean frogs, can’t get out.
I hear they taste like chicken
Funny timing, although not funny historically.
I sold my last shares in CASI today. CASI used to be ENMD (Entremed) and in a firesale sold an offshoot of Thalidomide that became Revlimid to Celgene, making Celgene the success it became.
Pardon me your lordship PM, you should have trained with the Kingsmen while you lived across the pond
We can all see and realize that the cabal (sometimes aka defendants in a law suit) are still up to their shenanigans, as any naturally traded stock wouldn’t be kept to sub-cent price (I.e., $0.001 +/-) not even penny stocks. Clamped to a range too much,.
Web did get pain and suffering, of the patients and families that have been hurt by efforts to BK nwbo!
Should we refer to the share price today in pre-split manner?
And what does it matter today if there was a split that either predates my first purchases or possibly forgotten about, and I’m in more than a dozen years?
I’m today assessing the progress in what is always difficult and with very low probability of success, of a pre-revenue pre-product biotech starting from scratch with a heretofore biotechnology that no other company has succeeded in applying to GBM, and despite all manner of dirty attacks, succeed to phase 3 efficacy and a growing number of long term survivors way beyond anything else!
That’s why I’m invested and a believer and overjoyed at what the preliminary combo treatments are indicating towards a cure!
Keeping it real laughable!
We are about to be approved in the UK after a breakthrough successful phase 3 trial and peer reviewed top journal article!
You invest your way, I’ll do it my way
Regrets, I’ve had a few, but then again, too few to mention….
No, the share price was in the low single digits and the big NW investments helped get the sp from around $3 to $12+ for a little while. It’s been shenanigans since then of all types. But the goal remained intact and nwbo never wavered in commitment to reach it.
That encompassed a number of challenges and milestones achieved, maybe later than desired, but achieved!!!
Nwbo is a little like Rocky Balboa.
Taking shots to the head that would have knocked out many others, apparently without keeping the gloves up to protect the head. Then somehow finding the energy and spirit to up defense and land some key blows, ducking and/or absorbing the challenger’s assaults.
Now the underdog with incredible perseverance is near the end of this match, with renewed spirit and confidence, possibly tied or ahead on points and the challenger off balance.
The “Yo shareholders! We did it!” moment imminent and the patient and medical community now cheering their support!
Cue the inspirational success music!
Large donors to politicians and their parties buy a lot of cover and favors.
Thanks bio, I will stay away from the OTC and hope nwbo gets off it soon.
The overall issue is the corruption that large amounts of money for grabs gives rise to, and the SEC is influenced and/or pressured, at a minimum as you describe.
Look at the fraudulent money grabs of the billions our government made available to deal with Covid impacts. Bogus applications for bucks that wouldn’t be required to repay.
But I really shouldn’t be naive, having grown up in NYC and all the shenanigans that lay below the surface, and in truth also exists in suburbia and small towns. In short, it’s been everywhere at low levels that I hesitate to call “acceptable.”
So maybe it’s a matter of degree, transparency, outright brazenness, idk, that disturbs me more now than in the past?
I’m recently retired and just want to enjoy life with spouse and family and friends, and not worry too much about things I can’t control. A bit selfish admittedly, however dealing with health matters among our nearest and dearest is worry enough these days.
I’m a terrible politician. I’ve always tended to lead, in a fair and benevolent manner and never a win at any cost or means one at that. We got the jobs done well without leaving bodies and wounded in our wake and without leaving any one behind, so to speak!
