Nice try Richy, but your rationale isn't credible.
My posts include specific remarks toward specific actions. If they in turn create FUD due to their very nature, now I can't be held responsible for that?
Thanks Richy
Or would you prefer a more formal - Richard from the AZ hedge fund?
For someone who has not once come back with one intelligent discussion about dilution, finance terms, transparency,go to market strategy,or Accounting practices is rich.
"That one's tired."
That one? One, I don't mind. But hundreds of useless questions?
Muddled thinking. Unprecedented negativity. An endless stream of hostile arguments. All under the guise of "fact seeking" (truth, justice and the American way)?
These types "conversations" have become increasingly shrill and tiresome.
In fact, they've become very "tired".
Yes, My Crystal Ball Is Clouded
Most of the time, all I can see is BS (and I don't mean Blissfully Sublime).
Fufat - Me too - I agree
But my crystal ball is clouded, so I have nothing to add.
Huge price gain today - 33% on high volume
There was, some profit taking at the end of the day, as expected. But the volume was low compared to the rest of the day.
This was a great day for DECN shareholders. No BS about that!
OK Thanks!
In this case, I deserve it.
"More BS news imo. Same old same old."
I disagree.
"I'm not here to debate the finer points of the English language with you."
Nor I with you.
But posting that something is "BS" and then later redefining "BS" as meaning "Blissfully Sublime" is not a fine point.
Have a nice day.
I'm not a trader - I'm staying pat
My average DECN buy price is less-than_my_buy_price
I haven't sold any of my DECN shares and am looking forward to a profitable future for DECN - AND ME!
Hmmm - 50% increase today on high volume
And near silence from the death squad.
Big news today.
In your opinion - what news was that.
Death Spiral Starting - Sub-Penny Soon
It's only going to get worse here folks. If you don't understand, you've probably missed the devastating spelling errors in the financial reports.
Sell, sell now! While you can still get out
And by the way, Pluto has not been incarcerated, merely suspended by an iHub administrator for a few days. I've been there, as have many of you.
Nobody buys BS meant Blissfully Sublime
And the news has been very good, hence the same old same old.
"No pivot here."?
You asserted reverse splits are devastating to shareholders. But no facts were offered to back up your assertion. I said reverse splits do not directly affect shareholder value and provided a link to an unbiased article that explained why. You then pivoted to "There is specific causation for an RS". Huh? What happened to the original topic of RS causes shareholder devastation?
Maybe I'm flying at a higher altitude than you in this conversation. Your point is so basic;I guess I'll say sorry,I automatically start way beyond such elementary conceptualizing. And yes Zem,your emphasis to micro define an RS's structure as not being destructive to shareholder value is disingenuous.
loanranger,
Thanks again for your candid response.
I honestly do not know why the 2011 reverse split was promoted with an up-listing and, more importantly (to me), why there didn't appear to have been any follow through. But I didn't buy my first few shares of DECN until Dec of 2013.
As for your opinion that "An exchange listing now is impossible", I'm not so sure. I accept your assertion because you are much more knowledgeable than I am about the process than I am. I still retain some hope. But to me, ramping up sales volume is, by far, the most important thing now.
So without getting bogged down in a discussion of who thinks what about reverse splits, it is an inarguable fact that this company's share price is significantly lower than it was at the time of its last reverse split, about 5 years ago. That's not to say that the reverse split caused the share price to fall. It is fair to say, however, that companies that undergo reverse splits do so because their operations have not created the reaction in the market that would move the share price to where the company wants to see it. It is also fair to say that a reverse split SHOULD make the share price itself a more marketable one.
The next reverse split is likely to be made for the same reasons. Exchange listing, yadda yadda yadda
The next reverse split is likely to be made for the same reasons. Exchange listing, yadda yadda yadda......bad, bad, bad.
"You seem to think that RS operates in a vacuum."
LOL! - You claimed reverse splits caused shareholder dilution. Now you're pivoting to what causes reverse splits?
What happened to the claim that reverse splits are devastating to shareholders?
Nice try - but YOU are wrong!
The additional issuance of stock enabled by a reverse split has DIRECTLY affected the value of my shares.
As new shares are added to the aggregate, they reduce the value of the existing stock. Dilution:"the action of making something weaker in force, content, or value".
Irrespective of other issues, share issuance in and of itself kills value.
A simple google search on reverse splits
I entered: are reverse splits bad for shareholders
Here was the first hit:
http://finance.zacks.com/reverse-stock-split-good-bad-2298.html
"I dare you to make a case that they have been good for shareholders."
I accept you're dare - sort of. I never claimed that reverse spits are inherently good for shareholders, I claimed that they are irrelevant - neither good nor bad. Your losses are genuine, but they have nothing to do with the reverse stock split itself. It's fair to complain about the causes of you loss, but not to complain about things that were merely correlated with your loss.
Mathematically you were correct.
And mathematically, reverse/forward splits have no impact on the value of shareholder's investment in the company.
Unfortunately, some folks portray reverse splits as a devastating event, implying mass-dilution of shareholder the value.
Not good - bad, bad, bad.
Reverse splits devastate shareholder value?
I think this is just the kind of thing that Fufat was trying to get to. There aren't billions of DECN shares, shareholders have done the equivalent of turning in 100 pennies for a dollar bill.
Of course I agree with Aldry on this - market cap is a good value of market value, and stock prices are not a good metric to compare company values.
But!
Neither forward or reverse splits, by themselves, directly affect stockholder value. So the assertion that history of reverse spits has devastated shareholder value is either misinformed or designed to mislead. It's a basic misunderstanding about the difference between causality and correlation.
So for example, history has shown that longer woman's skirts have had a devastating impact on the value of stocks. For a period of time, this was true, from a correlation perspective, but everyone now agrees, that long skirts did not cause 70's stock market price changes.
So it is with stock splits. If I own 100 shares of a stock that is valued at $1, and it does a reverse, 10 to 1, split, I receive 10 shares worth $10 each and my total investment is still $100. The split made no difference at all from my personal balance sheet's perspective.
It may make a difference to some people's perception of the stock (e.g. it may no longer be a penny-stock, it may become more liquid ...).
IMO, the assertion that reverse stock splits are (always) bad for shareholders is pure FUD.
OK, but it's unclear to me why you consider a spelling error on a new website to be such a big deal.
OK, but please share what Pacer states
We don't have enough information for a conclusion
Certainly nothing to substantiate your hypothesis.
No, I expected unbiased investigation. That is not what I've seen.
ksviking,
You may have misunderstood. Loanranger asserted that he paid to get the latest information from Pacer, but seems to be unwilling to share it.
Because it's true - I changed my opinion, in light of the evidence, provided on this board.
Please try to be less obtuse in your replies.
I've decided. Belatedly.
I told KB, a few months ago that I thought folks who frequently participated in the ihub Fraud Investigation Team were straight shooters. I've changed my mind. Janice Shell is, some others are not.
So it was a trivial mistake on_a_recently_updated_website. Why was this a topic everyone needed to read?
To me, a spelling error is not a big deal, nor worth a post singling it out. I consider it unimportant, but accept that you must think it is.
Like I said, I'm holding my hand.
I'm not trying to pump the stock. If you're uncomfortable with it, you should sell.
Did you join an AZ hedge fund?
Like I've said, I'm a big picture type of guy. To me, the realistic potential for reward is many times my 20 cents per share investment in DECN. I'm certainly not a venture capitalist, but their basic formula for investing is to bet on a large number of risky start ups. Most will fail, but hopefully, there will be a whale or two. That is how I view DECN. I think DECN has a good chance of being a whale.
I'm not in your "former" category, or your latter.
Desperate, the dark side has become.
The DECN force has been revealed.
"Scottrade charges 20$ a pop for reverse splits etc."
I don't know if it would apply or not, but, if true, IMO, Scottrade's charges are usurious.
As we've seen from the DECN 2Q reports, only users with brokers that haven't been able to contact them, with less than 25 shares, are affected.
I suspect many of them are not only under water, but also under dirt.
Thanks for the head's up - Tasty! Please remove this duplicate post
