thanks for the info!
SerFelix-I agree with you that this story should get better from here. I looked back through past 10k's and Virtra best ever year was 2.28 million. So, we can expect at least 400k in the 4th quarter but I think we'll book between 650k to 850k. 1st qtr 08 we could see close to 1.5 million if our back order is delivered. The simulation Industry is growing at a phenominal pace...hopefully for us larger orders are on the horizon.

Curious to how old or new/current this project is. Anyone know about it? Virtra is a subcontractor for this project http://armis.us/

I talked with steve last night. I asked him what stage the SB-2 filing was in and he said he did not think they were going go through with it. didn't go into the who, whats and y's but....I think the original reason was to secure money for future orders. I believe if they do get a large order they will secure private funding with the help of GSA commitments. I previously found on the web a Incubator/consulting company that mentioned virtra looking for funding with the help of GSA commitments....although I can't find the link anymore.
We talked about the patent applications and what stage they were in.....he wasn't sure and said technology is consistamtly changing in this industry and wasn't sure if they would hold merit. I asked him if the threat fire belt could be liscenced to other systems and he said their has been interest from other companies.
We discussed the prime contractor relationships and said they are still in the hunt for orders....raytheon is not one of the primes.
micheal kitchen left the company months ago.
asked him about Afaq consulting group and said he could not talk about that....he sounded suprised when I brought that up.
He sounded positive about 4qtr and year end financials and we could be in the black as General Dalby has been alluding too.
Hope that helps B17. I'm glad your onboard you offer good insight/info regarding the defense sector and to that I thank you

Virtra under consideration for future project
Public Safety Sciences Building
In December, the college selected Substance Design Consortium as its Architectural Consultant and FCI Constructors, Inc. as the Construction Manager @ Risk for this project. Planning is now underway, with concept drawings expected by late January. As part of the project, planning team managers visited Virtra, a Tempe based firm to view the newest technology in weapons training simulations. The Virtra system is one under consideration for the new building which will house Administration of Justice, Emergency Medical Technology, Fire Science and Law Enforcement Operations studies. Construction is expected to begin in August 2008 with occupancy scheduled for Fall semester 2009.

no such luck. What were the soldiers/officers reaction to the threat fire belt befor and after the scenario?
I used the simulator in 2004 and it was the most technolgically advanced at the time. I met ferris, kelly and kitchen and they all seemed like good people. I'm looking forward to success in 2008.

emailover,
Virtra can not be a prime contractor. They don't have the cashflow, manpower, manufactureing capabilities or experience to fullfill any large orders. If we become a subcontractor for a major defense contractor and recieve a large order we will have one hell of a ride!!!

Gemmerling,
As far a I know Virtra doesn't have a MOUT virtual shoothouse in their arsenal of simulators. Lasershot does...don't get me wrong I hope we bring one online soon.
TI training has a sole source rfp for our single screen simulator(s). This is from an old post of mine but don't recall if you were following the company in october.

whats your current impression of the comapany and market
"How is it that Ti can market these systems and Virtra couldn't? If I recall, Ti is a breakaway from a competitor of VTSI."
if you can recall from the start the single screan simulator was designed to be marketed by ti training corp .....and yes the ceo of ti was the ceo of arotech....
virtra will get private investors with the help of gsa commitments for future big orders.JMO...any comments?

E,
Ok i'm getting it, expenses are used to estimate the associated revenues of the uncompleted project. So with that being said, of the 463k in costs of the uncomplete projects, was that booked to q3 expenses and 740k booked to revenues(60% of project costs)? giving us our 1.2 mil for the q3 and leaving us with 200k left forwarded to q4 apon completion?
Thanks
Teeroy
E,
From the 10k will you be so kind to help me resolve this riddle. reporting uncomplete project revenue on a balance sheet is not a strong suite of mine. Concerning these uncomplete projects/contracts is cost/revenue reflected in q3. I was lead to believe that if a project was incomplete revenues would not be reflected in that quarter.
Note 9. Cost and Estimated Earnings in Excess of Billings on Uncompleted Contracts
The following information represents our current projects at and for the nine month period ended September 30, 2007:
"We had several projects near the completion stage, our percentage of completion is based on total costs incurred to date compared to the estimated total cost of each contract. We have incurred total costs of $463,276 on contracts totaling $1,469,515 of total revenue. We estimate that we will incur approximately $75,000 of additional costs and do not expect to incur any losses on our uncompleted contracts. Our Cost in excess of billings was $61,549."
Thanks
Teeroy
Can you read ? did I post that? ...NO, I said it's a start!

Domen, I have thought that untill the sb2 is complete virtra won't be announcing anything of significants. I could be totally off base???
here is a bite out of his response. " Right now, from a purely competitive view, I won't "tip the company's hand" to the competitors. We are protecting our exposure wherever possible, and will announce information upon successful completion of a project, not in advance of it - for obvious reasons."
I recieved a reply back from the general but not much to tell.
He's not going to divulge info pertaining to the prime contractor relationships untill the installations are complete. He does not want to create any unnecessary problems from our competition.
Did Virtra sell the promo side??? read ABOUT US.
