Good question ....
We know they are talking with Nissan, SAIC and now Laidlaw, I would suspect there are others...you'd like to think it sends a message that the company isn't sitting on their hands waiting for any potential suitor or partner...if they get more momentum from current events, it should send a wake up call to any players that have been waiting to pick the TOVC carcas clean...that is obviously not going to happen...
Thanks Lynx...
I agree...and when all of the glasses are full and over-flowing, there will be people complaining about spillage...!
LOL...can't wait to see what that coverage looks like...
my bet is you'll need a microscope to find it in the D&C
You seem to be outnumbered on the info released today....
Sub market interest rate bonding...? Where is that coming from..
"there isn't time tested technology"...you mean like the hybrid and 6 speeds..? If those were the answers, they would be the answers...Yogi Berra is somewhere wishing he said that...
You expect to hear on this forum about an offer "on the table"..or "from the TOVC website"...you're kidding right..
"show me the money"... the proposal that is laid out for the bond financing showed us one avenue to the money...kind of like a giant $300 million pre-sale with no debt...
You keep the "weeks not months" stuff alive in alot of your commentary...wasn't it a CXO guy who make that claim..? I believe that it was, not to mention it was like 2 years ago......
Should people be labeling themselves as "sage"...?
The high stakes poker game started years ago...how many hands are left to play is the question...
I think you will find many here who recognize today's info as one positive directional step for the company....what others are in the works that we don't know about..? I guess we'll see....
Seems like most here are encouraged by todays news..and the market seems to be liking what it sees..
I agree truck...
Bernard Donegan and David Resch had some strong quotes in the proposal....these guys didnt just drop on Torvec's doorstep last week...Resch appears to be connected and a supporter of Torvec since 96 and has been waiting for the day where Torvec could apply his expertise....that day appears to have arrived...Donegan says "I don't see how anyone could not get behind this project. "
Also, as I write this, our favorite MM appears to be trying to keep the price from breaking through the $2 level...
I like you choice or words Artguy..
It is a revolution.......
Wow...! alot to digest...
Still going over the bond proposal again to decifer the numbers and potential impact on revenue/earnings on a deal like this...this appears to have legs...My hats off to the Torvec team on this..very interesting development..
welcome Spock...more power Scottie..!!
dread....
as the 6000th post on the TOVC ihub board, you win the grand prize....you get to be moderator for the next year..
Congratulations......!!
Anyone interested in guessing which MM was.......
Ahh....never mind....
Interesting read beach...
"Shanghai Auto has been casting a covetous glance at overseas acquisition targets." I can think of one acquisition target that would be a fit for them...
LOL....Thanks lynx...
There appears to have been some carnage here .......
I hope all is well with everyone...cheers to a nice week...
Big LOL...!
excellent use of comedy to close out the day here on the ihub show....heading out for a few days...have a nice weekend everyone...
Anyone care to guess what MM was on the last trade taking the price down to 1.80..?
You keep missing the point....
It has nothing to do with corruption....all bulletin board stocks are influenced by market makers..it's just the way it is. It just so happens that UBS is the player participating the most on Torvec. You may not care or want to believe that, but it's happening..I'm intrigued by it and watch it closely.
It happens because it can....it's that simple.
The market becomes more orderly with higher volumes....a deal would be a game changer as I have said to you before and to this forum...yesterdays very good development in the eyes of most here including you, should make it evident that sometimes there are forces at work in the market for bulletin board investments that continue to work against a long position...history has shown Torvec to get "hit" on any semblemce of good news...more good news will help momentum...a deal chganges everything....the bet here is that it going to occur and when it does it will be big. my opinion remains that this level of pricing for Torvec doesnot come close to where it's going to end up....wether it's 1.50 or 3.50 now, that is insignificant to where it will be when we look back at these times.
On another note....I think I've been very civil to you in general lately..it's not like we're buddies or anything, but can we drop the hostility a notch or two to keep the dialog productive....most people here want the same thing..you and I included....how bout it??
Anybody want to take a guess on what MM was on the last trade taking the price to $1.76....
How many people are going to wish they had bought more TOVC in $1.80 range...?
I think that we are seeing the early stages of national exposure and a break out of the valuation of the Torvec tech portfolio...I think many will regret not buying TOVC stock now...
I agree Truck...
That dialog had be going on for some time to get to the point where it is now news...
I think Torvec is going to need to insatll a drive thru window to handle all of the political types that will be wanting to jump on the band wagon..!!
Any guesses on which MM is trying to keep a lid on the ask...?
I think this story is going to start to get some legs...
Energy crisis + politics + Torvec = News.....I bet the front page of every major newspaper has a story running on the gas crisis this morning. Torvec may be at the beginning of becoming part of the story on a more national and global basis. Alot of folks posting here have been yearning for more visibilty for Torvec....I think the company is going to be getting alot of it for the right reasons and will come from the validation of the technology via the political climate and the need for solutions. It will also come without what has been described as a very expensive marketing process. This is going to get some traction....pun intended..!
Senator Robach's comments are quite direct....
"Recently, I visited Torvec’s facilities on the very day oil prices hit $70 a barrel. I came away convinced that we have the solution to the energy crisis right here in Rochester. I saw Torvec’s infinitely variable transmission in operation. To coin a phrase, this is the “real deal” and its use will, I am sure, dramatically reduce fuel consumption across the board --- cars, SUVs, trucks, buses, especially school buses. The cost savings to our financially strapped school districts could be enormous."
Press release...Looks like fuel prices, politics and our government are now looking toward Torvec as a solution.....the PR also directs us to the new CEO update on the Torvec website...this is going to get very interesting

New York State Senator Commends Torvec on Solution to Oil Crisis
Tuesday April 25, 9:00 am ET
ROCHESTER, N.Y., April 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Torvec, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: TOVC.OB - News) announced today that New York State Senator Joseph Robach (Greece), during a recent visit to Torvec's facility, highly commended the company and its efforts to boost fuel efficiency by stating he was "excited about Torvec and its products and will be working to make sure New York State gets behind this truly revolutionary technology."
For the complete text of his comments, please visit the "Current News" section of Torvec's website, www.torvec.com.
With oil prices reaching $75.00 a barrel with no signs of leveling off, Torvec asserts it has now perfected its Infinitely Variable Transmission (IVT) to combat the oil crisis. With two-thirds of U.S. driving taking place under 50 miles-per-hour, Torvec has focused its efforts in saving fuel primarily at lower speeds where fuel use is greatest.
The most recent preliminary testing of its IVT in a Tahoe equipped with a 5.3 Liter V8 gasoline engine resulted in a 45 percent gain in fuel mileage over the Tahoe's conventional automatic transmission in "steady state" operation at 15 miles-per hour. A 26 percent gain in fuel mileage in "steady state" operation was achieved at 30 miles-per-hour. At 50 miles-per-hour, a 5 percent gain in fuel mileage in "steady state" operation was achieved. Final EPA testing on Torvec's state-of-the-art Mustang dynamometer is underway, and results will be announced shortly.
Torvec has also perfected an Iso-Torque differential to improve driving safety for all vehicles, especially the driving safety of city and suburban school buses. Senator Robach personally rode in the company's 350Z Nissan equipped with the Iso-Torque differential, experiencing first hand the improved control and handling of the vehicle in comparison with vehicles with conventional differentials.

dead solid perfect artguy...
LOL....
Thanks....
Gee....
When you list it all that way, it does make me think somehow it's all connected...
Thanks...
As a shareholder, i care alot about those shares and i would bet there are many that do....
where are they?...were they sold?..if so, they affected share prices...if not, where are they ..they arenot in the form 5's...?? I care what happened..
You talk about the company blaming lack of results on others..??? First of all what lack of results..? You mean no deal signed yet..? There have been lots of results..You equate no deal yet to the company being a complete failure...
No where in any filing or PR or CEO update have I seen Torvec blame anything on anyone.. The only thing I have seen is the company working toward readying the tech for commercialization..the fact that commercialization has not yet occurred doesnot equate to failure..people on this forum point alot of fingers though, myself included...no one here is a spokesperson for Torvec so dont confuse the two...
Good point Trucker...If I recall....
the run up to 9 bucks was tied directly to the announcement that the EPA was going to test the IVT...the run back down to the 3's and 2's was on CXO's watch....
Since Torque brought it up, I still am left with many questions about the form 5's filed by CXO...the #'s don't add up....also, what happened to the shares produced by CXO exercising roughly 565,000 warrants..?
again, thanks for reminding me...
I was off the chart wrong about that one...excrutiatingly wrong....and i have indicated that on this forum numerous times...I expected the Carlisle Effect to produce a dust storm of forward activity and bells and whistles going off...it produced more of a thud follwed by a sucking sound...it fits right to my point about the attempts bringing in outside management for this particular company isnot the right formula...
That is my point exactly....thanks..
glad you mentioned TG...
TG was once upon a time selling shares of Paychex at 10 cents a share and borrowing money to keep the thing afloat...it took years for his very successful company to stabilize financially...he brilliantly tapped an underserved market with services that already existed and went after a specific segment with those services...it was well timed but it took a very long time...
Some day we are all going to look back at the time when Torvec struggled with capital and how long it took to shift the thinking of an industry stuck in it's own way and how long it took to sign the first deal, much like you can look at many successful public companies, Paychex included...
In my opionion, the biggest mistakes, the mistakes I am most critical of, made by Torvec, were in trying to turn over the management of the company to outsiders.....it appears that more has happened behind the scenes during the last several months with the current management team, than at any time in the history of the company, by a long shot...I support that progress
that from a guy who has used 3 aliases here...
blind faith..? hardly
patience...? yes, but I wish things happened quicker in the industry Torvec operates in...
I can only speak for myself, but I own zero shares in any public company that in my opinion has "POOR management"...why would anyone own shares in a company where they believe
"the stock price is the fault of Torvecs management. Plain and simple." That doesn't make sense to me and I would imagine to alot of viewers here on the ihub channel...
"nothing has ever come to fruition" - that's a matter of perspective and tied directly to the patience factor...some, myself included think that against the odds, Torvec has developed some amazing technologies that continue to be refined...if what you mean by fruition is that no deal has been done yet, that's accurate..but that is what the bet on this stock has been all along. I remain in the camp that feels it's when, not if the technology will be commercialized....this is the next phase that as an investor in TOVC I have been waiting for...
have a nice day...say hi to dyna..
and he said he wasn't cranky...
You have been overly fair in your moderation of this forum. You should be commended for that. You started the board as an investor in TOVC and a supporter of the company....you have also shared doubts and criticisms of Torvec as well. I appluad what you have done here...keep up the good work.
Thanks beach...
have a nice weekend....I am going to do the same..
enjoy the weekend everyone..
Thought you would like to know....
UBS on both ends of the spread at the opening this morning...
Why are you so cranky..we're just talking here...
I agree that a deal changes everything....but in the mean time, whether you want to believe it or not, market makers manipulate stocks like TOVC and many other bulletin board stocks...why... becuase they can...it's that simple to use your words...also, naked shorting happens..you read the articles dread posted...you can choose to pretend it doesn't happen...........
Why does a UBS control 1/3 of the trading activity in TOVC? ...there are 22 or 23 market makers in TOVC...I have my own theories, you have yours...for now, I'm sticking with mine. You hate Torvec, we understand that...I support Torvec and believe that commercialization is going to occur in stages that will produce real value...
Note to self....
never hire dyna as an interpreter...
I didn't say UBS was committing fraud...the point being made is that there appears to be some manipualtion of TOVC share prices at the market maker level....UBS, for months, has been a party to about 1/3 of all trades. Watching their behavior daily on Level II, they appear to be controlling the price ranges....that is not illegal or fraud, but they appear to be the manipulator...
have a nice evening
They were very active today....
UBS #'s
During 2005, UBS accounted for just shy of 30% of the TOVC shares traded....the next closest player was 11%...
For 2006 through March, UBS accounted for 35% of the TOVC shares traded...the next closest player is 17% and after that the #'s are small...they still remain active on both ends of the bid and ask on a daily basis......
Green Grass High Tides....
I swear to you I have the CD in my car...!
And there is only one volume suitable for the Outlaws...Very loud..enjoy Leit...
