RFIL Healthy earnings pop and bright outlook:
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/rf-industries-third-quarter-sales-123000969.html
VIEs - anybody have a good list they're willing to share?
Time to short the VIEs. Attn: JoeNatural ! Report for duty!
Finally some bid-whackage today. .30 gonna be a tough nut to crack looks like.
.29 represents a 4-year high, so definitely getting into rarified air territory. exciting.
TNGN/PATH/TELK - The formula for SUPN and HZNP have been low floaters with catalysts. TNGN/PATH/TELK among the lowest floats out there, and are worth a radar. Above-avg volume for all three thus far.
Good catch on the tax asset; i was more focused on the YoY revenue growth and future outlook: "“We are pleased with our business results and made significant progress in improving our processes, systems, facilities and organization in fiscal 2012. We are focused on continuing to strengthen our infrastructure to support the substantial growth we expect to generate for the foreseeable future.” "
I'm high on this astaxanthin antioxidant. One of the main benefits of taking oils (fish, krill) is for astaxanthin. CYAN derives theirs from microalgae.
CYAN - earnings read well. picked up some in the 7.70's avg.
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/cyanotech-reports-financial-results-fiscal-100000954.html
CBP - yeah, the call wasn't the best imo. the CFO was the best english-speaker, yet he couldn't/wouldn't answer questions clearly.
i think the reason why they think they need cash is that they have mentally allocated cash-on-hand to the expansion, and if they want to grow in a fashion other than organic, then they need acquisition $. that said, i came away unimpressed with anything except the earnings/revenues.
just go private and put me out of my misery lol.
CBP - joe, heard you on the CBP call. What are your thoughts related to the answer to your shelf question?
CBP not trading well today. Suspect that there's some concern about the capital expenditures yet-to-come, but that's all part of building out expansion.
CBP(.69) - solid earnings of .21, but does anyone care? I mean, it's a China pharma and all...
http://sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/926844/000114420412035435/v315338_10q.htm
CBP - the 10Q reads pretty good, though isn't without some concerns as well as some bullishness. CBP seems like a prime candidate for a go-private offer, when considering the cash balance and book value. But i understand that there are complications when dealing w/ reverse mergers (i think CBP is one, if i recall correctly).
From the bullish camp, here's one tidbit: "The PRC government is injecting funds into healthcare insurance system to reimburse full or part of the medical expenses consumed by Chinese citizen. We expect the Healthcare Reform, when fully in place, will greatly improve the affordability of healthcare cost of Chinese people and therefore further increase the demand for our products. We have established Medical Reform Sales Department as a dedicated resource focused on capturing this tremendous growth opportunity"
Another: "Since the selling price of all products increased in January 2011, we have experienced sales volume decrease from most of products in the year of 2011. After longer than expected stable period and the effort of propagation through advertisement and promotion, and the most important, the high quality of our products, we see our sales volume start to increase in the second quarter of 2012. This is a good sign of our future organic growth"
Another: "We expect the demand for our products will continue increase as we continue to garner greater market acceptance, in particular the benefits of our Siberian Ginseng (Acanthopanax) Series in treating depression and nerve-regulation. We believe that we will have a continuous and stable sales increase in these products for fiscal year 2012. In addition, we anticipate that we will be successful in becoming one of the PRC’s essential medicine suppliers as the PRC government moves forward with its Health Reforms in 2012"
Of some concern: "Inventory amounts increased approximately $7.28 million from approximately $7.42 million on October 31, 2011 to approximately $14.69 million on April 30, 2012. This increase was primarily attributable to an increase of $3.82 million in raw materials from approximately $0.95 million on October 31, 2011 to $4.77 million on April 30, 2012, an increase of $1.74 million in packaging materials from $1.90 million on October 31, 2011 to $3.63 million on April 30, 2012 and an increase of $1.96 million in work-in-progress from $3.21 million on October 31, 2011 to $5.17 million on April 30, 2012"
Of some concern: "As of April 30, 2012, we carried out an evaluation, under the supervision and with the participation of our management, including our chief executive officer and chief financial officer, of the effectiveness of the design and operation of our disclosure controls and procedures, as such term is defined under Rule 13a-15(e) promulgated under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as amended (Exchange Act”). Accordingly, based upon that evaluation, the chief executive officer and chief financial officer have concluded that our disclosure controls and procedures were not effective to ensure that information required to be disclosed in our periodic reports filed under the Exchange Act is recorded, processed, summarized and reported, within the time periods specified by the Securities and Exchange Commission’s rules and regulations."
But in the subsequent paragraph in the 10Q, they talk about how they're improving such controls.
NEWN CEO buys $360,000 worth of stock - makes me start to think this thing is legit if he dumps that much cash into it. Going to swing some.

LMLP - just reported earnings in a PR; any thoughts on this one? seems pretty cheap
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/lml-reports-profitable-results-both-180208581.html
CDOC - great job guys. passed up on it for some reason.
WUHN - well, i shouldn't be surprised by this; afterall WUHN is a china stock. looks like they're going to delist it to pinks tomorrow in advance of the r/s. disappointed (unless it pulls a CMEDY). sorry if anybody got in this one.
SYNC - i'm long as well. Trading this thing is addicting, but i'm not holding for $20. Up a buck or so and i'm likely out til the next round.
Another 52wk high today; more to come hopefully. Volume was encouraging
LVWD - thx bob. hank a participant too. seems to me buyers at this level are anticipating much higher levels to come, and that's encouraging.
when you step back and think about the market they're addressing, it's quite mind-boggling to think of the potential near-limitless clientele, from mid-sized businesses to Fortune 100 companies (some of which are already clients). of course the proof will be in the pudding, but the niche could be interesting and enduring enough to provide a cultish move on the stock.
cliff - gotta tell the whole story. yes they (they being the likes of BSPM, CLNT, HEAT, RCON) were disasters and neede a r/s to save their listings, but each of them went absolutely nuts at some point after. TNGN isn't chinese, but they have one tomorrow worth watching. But the one that i'm eagerly anticipating is WUHN, due around 6/25. They already trade at a fraction of BookValue, and post-reverse who knows what might happen.
LVWD - at 52wk highs. broke thru some pesky resistance yesterday and today. next leg into blue skies could be a good one.

OT: yhoo finance working better now for news, but still no message board access
OT: anybody seeing news on .OB/.PK stocks from within a Yahoo portfolio?
not seeing on google finance either
AIS - any thoughts on the SA piece written up the other day that has some pretty wild price targets in it?
http://seekingalpha.com/article/634401-antares-this-bio-pharma-could-bring-a-1000-percent-return-in-under-4-years?source=yahoo
I'll take an unch close on a day like today.
after years of obscurity, LVWD is finally getting discovered as an integral part of social media business strategy. and their earnings reflect that realization. strong revenue growth, EPS profitable, and a tiny market cap make for a high % trade.
i'm showing 22.8M, but that seems awfully high considering how the stock trades.
Well you got your volume, and a pop into blue-sky territory. Who knows what happens now. OTC stocks have been crazy the past few months, though i admit most were promos. LVWD has the growth, the tiny mkt cap, the non-dilution, and the story. Traders/Investors are going to have to do the rest.
bob, i suspect that the extra penny+ won't feel painful if the stock makes its way to .50 :^)
LVWD - solid volume and a breakout thru 52 week highs today. There are going to be days of sparse volume (it wasn't too long ago that the stock traded by appointment only), but at the very least the stock has garnered some new eyeballs that track it. I sure hope that we can make a run at .50 at some point.
WUHN files for 1/10 reverse split. Will result in a float of < 1M shares.
The stock is undervalued by most measures (BV ~ 2.67), had a pretty decent quarter last quarter (diluted EPS +.03; http://sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/842694/000114420412030814/v312971_10q.htm), and is doing this reverse on the heels of some of the most crazy moves in microcaps i've ever seen (RCON, BEST, CLNT, ROSG).
Most of the above r/s movers tanked after the reverse, before turning things around in a big way. That may well happen again, but i'm making sure i'm long heading into it just in case. The r/s date hasn't been set yet, but the PRE14C indicates some time in June.

WUHN files for 1/10 reverse split. Will result in a float of < 1M shares. Who knows whether it'll have an experience like RCON, CLWT, BEST, CLNT, or ROSG, but there's no denying that there's opportunity here.

bbotcs, re: VSEC - seems like fresh inflow of $ to me, as opposed to renewals, but hard to know impact on the bottom line. The company probably doesn't even know yet, but it's good to see the pipeline flowing.
VSEC Another nice contract
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/vse-corporation-subsidiary-akimeka-awarded-123000798.html
VSE Corporation (VSEC) reported today that subsidiary, Akimeka, has been awarded a prime contract by the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Tricare Management Activity (TMA). VSE was one of seven awardees of an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract which has a five-year period of performance and a total cumulative contract value not to exceed $300 million for the entire program.
VSEC - not happy with this one today, but flipping a stock for 5 point gains only happens for genomics stocks i guess ;^)
Satisfied with holding at these levels.
LVWD incredible volume the past 3 days on unexpected earnings PR. I have never seen this kind of accumulation going on with this stock. It has the growth and the sexiness of working social marketing with Fortune 500 companies (eBay, WalMart to name two).
It's very close to a breakout if this volume continues.

KiK/SSK, re: LVWD
I have been in LVWD for a long time...too long. What we are seeing now is a big upturn for them; an overdue alignment of their business getting traction and the genre they serve (just about every business potentially) truly seeing the value of social marketing and monitoring.
Their #'s are showing the progress, the company actually has put out 2 PRs this year (!), and the volume has been outstanding in the stock. Not sure why MAXM has so many shares to sell, but we can thank him for the liquidity.
Looking forward to seeing this in the .40-.50 range at some point.
hweb, re: VSEC - i started a position. Should be a game-changer for them in terms of valuation and stability of earnings.
Excellent quarter, outlook, and general buzz. Too bad FB is struggling so mightily, but then again, LVWD has transitioned from "a Facebook play" to "an earnings/growth story". I prefer the latter from a longer-term perspective.
