Letter: Obama should eat her advice
Wednesday, February 23, 2011
First lady Michelle Obama is still using her bully pulpit to tell parents what their children can eat. Congress passed a $4.5 million bill that will effectively provide three meals a day to eligible children in public schools. Now Obama wants private restaurants to serve smaller portions to children. Will she next want to control portion sizes for adults? The restaurants may be happy because they can charge the same for less food. Patrons will be unhappy and may stop going thus hurting the restaurant business as well as food producers and on down the line.
When will this government intrusion into our private lives stop? What was Obama thinking when she invited guests for their Super Bowl celebration with a menu including bratwurst, kielbasa, cheeseburgers, deep dish pizza, salad, buffalo wings, various beers, ice-cream, twice baked potatoes, various chips and dips and German potato salad that calls for rendered bacon fat and a half cup of sugar? If Obama walks the walk, and talks the talk — she was able to eat — the salad.
Knowing this menu would be made public, she missed a perfect opportunity to set a good example for stupid Americans, who know nothing of good nutrition, and serve healthy food instead of a menu that was a walking heart attack.

That is a fine pair of US failures on that sig.
obama is in so far over his head its like a 1st term med student instructing a class on brain surgery!
President Obama: Israel has a birth certificate
I am not a birther. The thought of someone faking a child’s birthplace just so he could be president borders on lunacy.
However, a case could be made for falsified birth information because one had a Kenyan father of British citizenship: Barack Sr. If baby Barack were born elsewhere than the USA, motive for faked documentation could be tied to citizenship on a lesser position than a hope one has sired a future president. Maybe the Obamas envisioned a career for little Barry as a community organizer rising to an ACORN manager.
A grown up Obama with political aspirations could have continued the ruse. With the shield of the MSM and a lame vetting process, he may have gotten away with it.
Besides, lefties like Chris Matthews have said, why not just deliver the actual birth certificate and be done with it? Hawaii’s Democratic Governor Neil Abercrombie, possibly acting on Matthew’s simple request said he’d dig the hidden document out of the archives and end the controversy. He came up empty. I heard Obama called him up and said, “Governor…don’t help me!”
According to World Net Daily, the Supreme Court will take up the Obama eligibility matter in conference after originally denying it. This could be without Justices Sotomayor and Kagan. A motion was made to recuse them and because the court did not respond, the motion should be passed. If Kagan and Sotomayor are off the case only three votes would be necessary to hear Obama’s eligibility case in the Supreme Court.
BTW, if President Obama is found ineligible, every law he signed and appointment he made is rescinded. Goodbye Obamacare, see ya Kagan and Sotomayor.
Even so, my take on it is wake me Supremes agree to hear it.
In the other eligibility case, while the Obama Administration vetoed a UN Security Council Resolution condemning Israelis building homes for Jews in Jerusalem as illegal, they sought to appease Muslim Jew-haters. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and UN Ambassador Susan Rice intoned the words “illegitimate” and “Israel” many times after the veto. This is an attack on Israel’s birthright that’s more powerful than any army Muslims have put together so far.
However, President Obama isn’t just challenging men or governments when his secretaries blaspheme; he’s taking on the word of G0d.
The L0rd promised Abram all the land east of the River of Egypt to the river of the Euphrates. Within those boundaries lies Jerusalem.
After 40 years in the Sinai Desert, the L0rd, through Moses, led the Jews to the Promised Land--delivering them from 400 years of slavery at the hands of the Egyptians.
I’ve heard it’s not good to go against G0d.
“If Arabs put down their arms today there would be no more violence. If Israelis put down their arms, there would be no more Israel”. Bibi Netanyahu
Arab/Muslims are in the process of overturning former US-friendly governments, some might say partly at the encouragement of the Obama Administration and Obama’s revolutionary connections. Of course the Obama Administration, often at odds with itself, flipping positions one hour and flopping them the next, confuse, confound and corrode relationships all over the world. Even the royals of England have barred Barack from Prince William’s wedding, finally figuring out that Obama hates Britain after returning Churchill’s bust and blabbing their nuclear secrets to Russia.
Odds are most of northern Africa and the Arab Peninsula will be turned into variations of Iran’s Ayatollah-run Sharia Law government at best. A few might become fledging democracies, but without training and encouragement from the US, they’ll soon be ripe for the Muslim Brotherhood to deliver to the Ayatollahs.
What’s fairly certain is whatever peace progress was made with Israel over the past 30 years will go up in smoke. Judging by the Iranian warships headed through the Suez Canal toward Israel, something Mubarek didn’t permit for the last 30 years, I’d say the three-decade peace between Israel and Egypt is in jeopardy. Jordan will probably follow suit and sooner than later drop their peace treaty with Israel.
What Israel faces, with the help of Obama and the people who put him in power is another impossible situation--once again surrounded by a raging population of 200 million Muslims in a newly formed caliphate or, as some call it, the USI--the United States of Islam, ready to annihilate Israel, a country of 7,650,000 Jews, Arab/Muslims and Christians.
And just so you don’t think this is all about Israel, let’s talk about precedent our genius Dear Leader is setting.
Let’s say Mexico gets the UN to issue a resolution to stop all new housing developments in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Nevada and Utah after demanding these states be returned to their proper owner, the Mexican Government. The Mexicans have a better case against the USA than the Palestinians against Israel.
The Obama Administration hasn’t done anything well, but this could turn out to be a disaster on steroids.
Obama has opened the door for more birthers, if only by his disregard for the Constitution and his contempt of the rulings of the judicial branch of government. Many more of them will cross political lines.
In fact, we can soon classify them as Americans.

De Borchgrave: $400 Oil Imminent with Mideast Upheaval
In an exclusive Newsmax interview, award-winning journalist Arnaud de Borchgrave says the increasingly volatile situation in the Middle East could quickly push the price of oil to $300 or even $400 a barrel. De Borchgrave, who has interviewed Moammar Gadhafi six times, also says the Libyan leader is manic-depressive and is currently going through a manic phrase where he is “taking on the world.

Bravada Gold Corporation (TSX VENTURE: BVA)(FRANKFURT: 6BG) reported that it has received approval from the Bureau of Land Management for its drilling permit at its wholly owned Wind Mountain project, one of the Company's 22 Nevada properties (approximately 20,000 hectares) located in the Battle Mountain-Eureka, Walker Lane, Northern Nevada Rift, Austin, and Kings River Rift gold trends.
The permit allows for drilling 70 shallow in-fill holes at the Wind Mountain and Breeze deposits, with drilling expected to begin when a drill contractor is available in mid to late March. These holes will test structures that appear to host higher-than-average grade for the deposit, but are currently drilled too widely spaced to demonstrate continuity in the resource block model. Some of the drill holes will provide material necessary to characterize waste material, which is necessary for mine permitting. The program will also consist of sampling for metallurgical testing, which is expected to begin in early March. The metallurgical testing will include many important tests, some of which will continue over many months, and will provide important information about crushing, reagent requirements, and recovery characteristics for in-situ mineralization, as well as to help in determining the economic potential of historic waste piles and existing heaps.
Soil sampling was completed in January over an exploration area north of the known deposits and geochemical results have identified new shallow targets. The program consisted of 332 soil samples on a spacing of 50 metres. Gold values in the soils range from nil to 1.4 grams per tonne, with 32% of the samples containing +0.1 grams gold per tonne and 9% of the samples containing +0.3 grams gold per tonne. The area of the survey has generally poor rock exposure and has received very little previous drilling. To further define these new targets, an additional 74 soil samples have been collected where anomalies were not closed off by the original survey and detailed geologic mapping is underway as weather allows.
About Wind Mountain
The project is located approximately 160km northeast of Reno and has good road access and a power line to the property. AMAX Gold/Kinross Gold recovered nearly 300,000 ounces of gold and over 1,700,000 ounces of silver between 1989 and 1999 from the Wind Mountain and Breeze open pit heap leach operations (based on Kinross Gold files). Rio Fortuna Exploration (US) Inc., a wholly owned US subsidiary of Bravada Gold Corporation, acquired 100% of the property via an earn-in agreement with Agnico-Eagle (USA) Limited, a subsidiary of Agnico-Eagle Mines Limited, which retains a 2% NSR royalty interest, of which 1% can be purchased for $1,000,000 any time prior to production. In May 2010, Rio Fortuna received and filed on SEDAR a Technical Report for the Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) conducted by Mine Development Associates (MDA) of Reno. The study assumed open-pit mining using conventional trucks, shovels, run-of-mine leaching and utilized a base case gold price of US$850 per ounce with a credit for silver at a price of $14.50 per ounce. The base case economic model(1) in US dollars indicates:
Resource inside pits = 26.9 million short tons @ 0.012 oz Au/t, with 0.007 oz Au/t cutoff (approx. 90% Measured + Indicated, approx. 10% Inferred)
Gold Ounces mined = 320,000
Gold Ounces produced = 198,000
Waste: Ore Strip ratio = 0.7:1
Capital = Initial capital of $41.8 million with $4.4 million sustaining capital
Mine Life = 4 years active mining with 2 additional years of residual leaching and rinsing of leach pads
Life-of-mine cash cost per Au ounce = $497 after a silver credit of $86 per ounce of gold is applied
Total Pre-Tax cost per Au ounce = $719 after a silver credit of $86 per ounce of gold is applied
IRR = 15%
Pre-tax NVP @ 5% = $13.2 million
(1) Note that Canadian NI 43-101 guidelines define a PEA as follows: "A preliminary economic assessment is preliminary in nature and it includes inferred mineral resources that are considered too speculative geologically to have the economic considerations applied that would enable them to be classified as mineral reserves, and there is no certainty that the preliminary assessment will be realized."
Sensitivity studies by MDA indicated that gold and silver prices 20% higher in the same modeled pit ($1,020/oz Au and $17.40/oz Ag) will increase the IRR to 38% and the NPV @ 5% to $43.7 million. Gold and silver prices that are 10% lower ($765/oz Au and $13.05/oz Ag) result in the model becoming uneconomic at an NPV @ 5%. Sensitivities of the model to capital and operating costs are also provided by MDA.
Mine Development Associates, Ore Reserves Engineering ("O.R.E.") and Debra Struhsacker, Environmental Permitting and Government Relations Consultant, compiled the technical report. Thomas Dyer, P.E. is a Senior Engineer for MDA and is responsible for sections of the technical report involving mine designs and the economic evaluation; Alan C. Noble, P.E. is the Principal Engineer of O.R.E. and is responsible for sections of the technical report involving resource modeling and information taken from the 2007 Technical Report completed entitled "Technical Report on the Wind Mountain Gold Project"; and Debra Struhsacker is responsible for the section of the technical report involving environmental issues. Let me guess. You think they should build a Ground Zero mosque too....
Oh that figures. one goes with the other. 0 lover and algore
How did I know 2 years later you would still blame Bush?? The dems in office have used the last 2 years to get every pet project they ever wanted. Open cookie jar for what ever they wanted! They were out of control! They made all these promises of open sessions posting bills for public viewing. All BS. The dems wouldn't let the republicans do or say anything. Back of the bus with them! I just hope that the house can defund all the crap the dems stuffed down our throats!
Good one
I have told them that too. I keep getting requests to be an assistant so you can update the IBOX. I will not put info from a private held company in the IBOX to lure people into buying this stock with false info.
Look at this website that lists Israel and its weapons of mass destruction. They will not be wiped from the earth without taking millions with them!

Libya’s Gadhafi tells Palestinians to challenge Israel
February 14, 2011
JERUSALEM (JTA) -- Libyan leader Muammar Gadhafi called on Palestinians to mass on Israel's borders until their demands are met.
"Fleets of boats should take Palestinians ... and wait by the Palestinian shores until the problem is resolved," Gaddafi said in a speech Sunday night on state television, his first public remarks since Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak stepped down. "This is a time of popular revolutions."
"This is not a declaration of war. This is a call for peace," he added, according to reports.
Israel has rejected a Palestinian right of return, saying that all but a symbolic number of Palestinian refugees should be absorbed in an independent Palestinian state, formed as part of the terms of an Israeli-Palestinian peace treaty.
Gadhafi also called Arab states that maintain relations with Israel "cowardly regimes."

He is killing this country!
Thank the people that voted this clown in office!
Can any of you obuma lovers explain to me how this country can survive with this kind of spending? The budget President Obama is proposing today will allocate a total of $3.73 trillion into federal programs. This country is fast heading to a train wreck.
Obama the worst president this country has ever seem...... IMO
Oh I wish I still had my 69 Camaro but I sold it about 15 years ago and have been sad about it since. My truck has a 427 out of a 69 Camaro. I drove it today its fun :)
No thanks. I have Toyota Tacoma 2.7 4x4 I would put up against the ranger any day. Never been a ranger fan. Some people really like them though. I love my 82 Chevy. Nice truck, pearl yellow, 69 camaro 427 engine, built up 700-R4 trans. Everything rebuilt. It just likes gas:(
Tried to upload a pic of my truck but its way too big.
I have a 82 Chevy 3/4 4x4 with a 427 nice truck but a gas hog. 8 MPG but boy does it run..
They had a gear up program where they will send me 3 more clips and another clip holster. So when I get them it will have come with 5-16 round clips, 2 clip holsters, pistol holster, speed loader.
LOL I don't think I will be driving over it or anything else though other then shooting and cleaning it....
3 in the chest 1 in the head would about do it!
Oh YA. Looking forward to more from Julie. Nice voice too!
XD vs. XDM
the XDM is basically an improved XD. It is only offered in .40 though. It will run $100-$200 more than the XD depending on where you get it.
upgrades for XDM:
1. the XDM has a better quality match grade barrel (more accurate)
2. you can change the back strap on the grip for variation in grip size
3. has better recoil system (heavy duty guide rod spring)
4. has striker status indicator (to verify weapon is cocked)- may have this on origional XD, but not certain
5. has a MRT (minimal reset trigger) similar to sig's SRT (short reset trigger)- this is a great improvement for follow up shots.
6. deeper, longer slide grasp serrations for grip
7. more texture on polymer frame for better grip and control.
8. 16 rd. mag vs. 12 rds in the origional service model XD .40

Taken from xd torture testing article in Handguns magazine, now posted of course on Springfield's site:
http://springfield-armory.primediaou.../SPstory11.php
The Ice Test. We filled a tub with water, dropped in the XD with a magazine and put it in the freezer for a week. Breaking it free by dropping the "gunsicle" onto concrete, we let it thaw out on the way to the Oak Tree Gun Club, our favorite outdoor handgun range. Upon arrival, we inserted a fresh magazine into the XD and fired. We fired about 150 rounds before wiping it down and lubricating it. Result: zero malfunctions.
The Dirt Test. Following the lead of the Glock tests, the XD was "caked, covered and buried alive in soils of varying consistencies." We used everything from dust and ash to moist dirt and sand. We fired 100 rounds after subjecting the XD to each of the five kinds of dirt, for a total of 500 rounds. Predictably, sand proved the most challenging to its mechanism. After burying the gun in sand, then stepping on it to grind it in, we took it out to shoot. The slide cycled noticeably slower, but the gun never jammed. Result: zero malfunctions.
The Mud Test. The XD was covered with thick, gritty mud. After a quick shaking off, it was fired 100 times. Mud went everywhere from the recoil, mostly on the shooters, some on bystanders--it was amazing how much sprayed off the gun. Still, the gun kept working. Result: zero malfunctions.
The Water Test. Fully loaded, the XD was left completely submerged, removed from the water and fired. This was repeated 10 times, firing 10 rounds each for a total of 100 rounds. Result: zero malfunctions.
The Chemical Degreaser Test. Using GunScrubber, all lubricant was removed from the firearm. After making sure there wasn't any lubricant remaining on the firearm, the gun was fired. Glock's test fired 100 rounds. We fired 150. Result: zero malfunctions.
The Tire Test. We placed the XD on a gravel surface, then had shooting champion Mike Dalton drive his Toyota Tundra repeatedly over it, then park on the weapon. We then retrieved and fired it 100 times. Result: zero malfunctions.
With the torture tests behind us, I fired the remaining 1,400 rounds with no failures of any kind.
Better show tonight.
IMO Steven Tyler next Simon.....
New member of the family.
Springfield Arms XDM 40. 3.8
