COP goes ex-div tomorrow, but that doesn't explain the calls to me.
Great to see you collecting those multibuckers even under the influence of those triple hemlock concoctions.
Anyone know why DRIV is so weak?
Hey AD, If I read the entire article (vs skimming) I would have discovered all those new words you were talking about. LOL
BTW, when my house was under construction over 10 years ago I had the french doors replaced with a slider. The french doors obstructed more of the view. I'm happy with the switch. Hopefully you will be pleased with your choice.
Didn't know about Imergent until your mention.
MM, I get the feeling that things are so rotten at USNA, that borrowed shares could get yanked (if I had them). Its going to take a while to kill that one, so I'm not keen on puts. Maybe write naked calls? I'm too chicken.
I might just have to rollover that TIE call, but will sit tight for now.
DNDN buy write -- what a great idea. Wish I would have thought of it. DNDN is too expensive for me here though. Maybe next week when folks forget about it for awhile, although that will probably kill the call premium too.
Marketmaven, I shorted some USNA after your postings, but covered after I made a couple of bucks. Too bad, as it has been impossible getting the shares again. Such is life. I wonder if I could have gotten bought in at a bad time though, so maybe it is a good thing I am out. Thank you for that opportunity to make some $.
BTW, you used to hate PNRA a couple of years ago. I remember because I was long the shares at the time. Now I am having fun playing it short.
OT, wo what did you put in? A slider? :)
Joe, I thought I would have a little fun again writing a call on my small TIE position. I was way early! I went out to Sept though, so who knows what can happen by then. Did you ever buy back in?
Until today I had no idea moly was used in nucleur power plant containment. The "energy metal" - great marketing! Perhaps adding to GPXM's recent rise. Never did buy any GPXM though I looked at it a few times. I was thinking - maybe tomorrow....
Nice job Pantera. I have a little CELG, but I'm holding (since it isn't much).
Congrats on the good outcome, Joe. Not only a win for dog lovers but for justice lovers. Too bad you had to be dragged into such a thing though.
Up in Redding, CA there was a big deal about Haven Humane giving away a dog that was turned in. The dog broke free of its yard and the owner called looking for it but was told that Haven Humane didn't have it (although it turned out that was a mistake). The dog was adopted by another family and then the mistake was discovered. After threats of lawsuits, the adoptive family decided to return the dog to the original owner.
Newly, what did your buyers think of all the holes dug around your old place? :) It must be difficult to move at night but luckily wheelbarrows don't make much noise.
I never did get any junk coins, despite my interest after reading posts from you and Joe.
NEM has been a disappointment, but I continue to hold as I am convinced that if I sold I would be sorry.
Its good to see you posting again. I guess we will get another blackout when your DSL is cutoff. :(
I know nothing about ALAN, but noted the stock rise and was reminded of your interest in the space. Maybe with your watching something interesting will happen. :)
AD, you were interested in the RF space if I remember correctly. Did ALAN ever cross your universe? It looks like it had nice earnings.
It beats the alternative! Happy Birthday!
Thanks, ajtj. I am underwater on a short. It looks as though I need to rethink this one.
Gleno, Is AMZN on that list? I can't understand why that stock has legs otherwise. Thanks.
JCOM, can it break $30 this run?
That is what I'm worried about. Maybe it has a little more steam left though.
Any thoughts on CHK here? I was wondering if I should sell or let my profits drift away yet again......
Barry Minkow, that is a name from the past. I remember when the Feshbach Bros were chasing his scam down at ZZZ Best in the 80's. I read somewhere that Minkow was now working to uncover fraud, I guess he is this Fraud Discovery Institute.
If one held BPT until the ex date - April 13, if I recall correctly, would the dividend they would get be a qualified dividend? If so, then the taxes would be 15% plus the foreign tax paid (10%) versus ordinary cap gains?
Thoughts anyone?
Since I fall under the category of "anyone", I will tell you landm, that CCJ is a long term hold for me. I did take some off the table at $45+ and hope to buy back cheaper. CCJ has production problems with their Cigar Lake mine (flood) and I believe they won't be mining from that property until 2010 - a huge restriction on anticipated supply.
PaulA has been following the uranium stocks as well. Might check out his plays.
When you average the min wage jobs with the jobs on Wall St, you could get $17 + an hour. ;)
RIMM has been strong lately. Earnings next week.
DNDN no borrow at schwab or etrade
Nice job on USU, Paul. I guess I should have stayed another day in CCJ. Such is life. Still have some tho.
I couldn't stand it anymore Paul, so I let go of some of my CCJ.
CCJ I was going to sell a bit a couple of points ago but I hesitated when I saw the strength. I have a tendency to sell my winners too soon.
Hey Paul, you are not alone on CCJ. I've owned it for awhile. Thinking about selling some and trying to re-enter lower.
stock market is closed on Friday.
Zeev, you have all of us here on the threads to create that fourth prong of attack - our thoughts and prayers. I am praying for you and your family.
I don't expect a reply, as I know it would be impossible for you to answer all your well-wishers. You are revered, respected and loved by many.
unfortunately, she is a White Sox fan....
________
How can this be? :)
As a former NY'er (upstate), I lean toward the Mets. My hubby, a Cubbies fan, married me anyway. We visted Wrigley field while visiting around the holidays. I would love to see a game there one day. I thought it was very funny all those bleachers on the nearby apt buildings.
Why Cuban? Maybe they can be taken public. Weren't the Celtics at one time (maybe still are)?
Basserdan, I have an idea where you can spend your stock winnings should you tire of mining co's....The Chicago Cubs.

The Tribune Co. (TRB $33) has confirmed that it has agreed to Sam
Zell's bid to take the company private for $34 per share, or
approximately $8.2 billion, in a deal structured as an employee
stock ownership plan. Additionally, the company said it planned
to sell the Chicago Cubs Major League baseball team after the
2007 season as well as its 25% interest in Comcast SportsNet
Chicago, with the proceeds going to pay down debt.
I don't have a problem with your bragging. :)
Will you be looking to buy NYX back at a discount?
Congrats Guz!
I thought the same, Joe. (except for the Gtober part).
So you are going short against the box? I thought that is effectively a sale in the eyes of the IRS now.
