my knife is late. I inquired and received an honest response. Sure she could have said something with less detail. I appreciated the candor. Just have to wait and see.
I find your response to be a bit hysterical. Pretty common occurrence with new products and retail ops. At least it was for me in the retails business. Without the complete story I'll reserve judgement and wait for my knife to come in. Julie also sent me an email after I inquired. I thought it was professional and to the point.
Your post makes total sense to me. I also purchased the knife just to have one. Could have bought 2000 share ;)
A new link regarding the knife.
Apple Knives? at MacResource
Wow not a lot of posting today. What's that a reflection of? Hoping this thing doesn't pop too soon I want to buy more shares. Getting real. I saw somewhere the price target is $2+?
Word about the knife is getting around. I was posting on a group I belong to last night (not investors) and put a pic up of the knife I bought. Instantly recognized by someone who frequents prepper sites. I asked her what site it was, but she couldn't remember, but she said the video was posted there. It was weird and a little exciting.
Yup fool me once.... the market is in Missouri :), we will have to show that not tell. It will take time and more contracts. Perhaps one reason marketing took this slow is to prevent overhype. We will have to wait and see.
Cross promotion: I have to agree that LQMT could have made the effort to cross promote through their site, etc. more effectively. I'd like to think its a strategy. Products become branded by those who design and market them (MA in this case, patent pending). It is their product after all. LQMT is not the retail business and it could be looked at that it's not part of their core function to market products made from or by LQMT. I think this is an exception.
Long term I could see maintaining a separation between a customers business and LQMT in the retail side of things as a strategy. One knife contract is not a significant win in terms of $$$, but it is significant in terms of business. They need a butt load more of these contracts across different industries. Their focus is (I assume) on hooking up with other companies they can manufacture for or license with, not the end user of retail products per se. Think about all the products you buy today. Who makes what? What consumers see is the brand. We think we are special because its a LQMT knife, I'm sure very few consumers have ever heard of LQMT.
MA is in the business to make money. Sure they will hype the LQMT factor, but at the end of the day they sell knives. Look at the dubious posts here, we are all interested in LQMT. Are we, as a group, going to push knife sales? nope. LQMT sells their services and need to focus on that first.
Just some musings, all that being said since this was the new beginning, it could have been handled better, maybe for LQMT getting the PR out is the strategy.
I dont know about the getting "rich" part, hard for me define what that means anymore. I do believe that we have the opportunity to take prfit and that is important to me.
Are you kidding? A 4" knife , basically a cool pocketknife, is what we are waiting to "save" LQMT.
Sandy,
Your knife comments made me blow hot coffee through my nose. Thanks for the good laugh. "Come and get me sucka.." Wielding your too short to reach blade. Priceless.
Very interesting. There was a very popular and successful SciFi autor who wrote about bubbles. The discovery of which revolutionized the colonization of space and the manufacture of spacecraft. We don't live in the land of unicorns and fairies.... Or do we?
Having the privilege of growing up with three TV stations on a B&W screen. Dick Tracy's watch invented. Captain Nemo's ship. Computers via the original Planet of The Apes TV series (remember those cool low power self standing screens?). Drones and any number of other innovations, advancements etc. you choose to point out. It seems nearly anything we can imagine can become reality. I guess it's all a matter of timing.
How does this apply to LQMT? I can't answer since this is playing out. Will they be like Tesla (the man) or Edison? Capitalizing on the business side of creative theories........
What I liked about it is that it was an authentic reaction from someone familiar with the scene. I think it bodes well.waiting for my knife to arrive.
Your welcome. Lol yeah at first I was like what's?!? I can't put it in the oven overnight at 300 degrees? Then I realize why the hell would I do that anyway?
Report of the knife being seen and handled (?) at the show. You might want to email this guy to confirm or ask questions. Or wait till Monday for more info.
See the blog post here!

I predict .137 by the end of trading today.
Must be must obi-watts. I have learned much much from you I have.
Need to leverage down meh :)
All green by weeks end sounds great to me too!
Have to agree with you. I can theorize many possible uses for this technology.
.144 here. Averaged down over time.
Yup, that's it. been there for a while, couple years at least. Wonder why they dont bring it down?
DMN your welcome. reading this board is very emotional :)
My magic 8 ball says "buy".
Seriously based on this year only going forward. I am strong on long. Of course I bought in late or early depending on the view. I know a guy who bought in 2001. A series of omens resulted in my looking at the stock. I bought in at .16 and literally said it can go any lower, lol. Watts comes to mind as I type this. Everything about this year points to hope. From my point of view and timing of entrance. New patents, new opportunities, new contracts, new markets, new RFPs. It's a lottery ticket. Will it be successful? I don't know. Seems like it could be. Sounds like the right things are being done. The down vote on pay and incentive was interesting. Makes me wonder what were they thinking. Or do they know something I dont. Performance matters unless it's a pump and dump play. I may be a bag holder, time will tell. I bought a knife that could have been shares instead. Still from a science fiction point of view intrigued by the idea. Never thought I could buy a dick tracy watch either. What's with the $2.36 target price anyway?
Performance counts and so does revenue or profit. RFPs are nice but how about contracts? Is this the beginning or the end? Why do these patents keep rolling in? Who is pulling these strings and to what end? I'll be happy to see .30 and happier still at .45.
Rambling I know, but this is an Internet forum.
Not sure what you are referring to, could you explain?
My magic 8 ball says buy now.
Nice cant wait to get mine :)
Thinking the med news is helping. Hey just the fact they are attending a conference begins to build credibility.
Got another pickup before the spike, lol, I'm good to go.
Excited to see this I may have to go. I am not too far from Boston.
Here is the link and Liquidmetal is listed as an exhibitor.
BIOMED Boston
Bought mine (#65) and couldn't agree with you more. I'll be showing it off to my woodsman ;) friends.
Very agile in fact. Points to the ability to take shorter runs of production without excessive down time to mob/remob.
Interesting article which made me think of the MIM process and using it in space. LQMT is not mentioned, but I see some parallels.
NASA and see through alloys
Anyone else hear about this of or see something similar? BS or Truth?

Talks Underway_Hitachi Metals To Acquire Liquidmetal Technologies (LQMT)
Yup and I picked up a few shares on the bounce ;)
So my prediction was off a bit, looks like it settled to a lower price than I would have expected closer to low side of .16 rather than .1625 (my low guess). Total noob here, but volume was way down from the previous 2 days, price seemed to bounce between a smaller band dipping further on large trades. Seems to validate a lot of action Monday was about acquiring on speculation. Then Tuesday & Wednesday about realizing positions as a loss or gain. Less so today Wednesday.
The big question is how many are still in the very short game and how many are willing to play this out longer? With no new news I would expect most to watch for volume Thursday and Friday to decide if they have the stomach for news on Samsung Sunday. Thinking the price will drop closer to .15 and possibly back to go by close Friday as some close out their trading week.
Thinking seriously about selling prior to that to rebuy Monday on the anticipation of a sharp drop Monday since I am of the opinion that the S6 will not feature Liquidmetal. Pure speculation based on the limited facts I have available. Puts me in a weird position since I am long on this even though I can see the track record so I have to really question whether its worth the trouble for me to sell and rebuy for a very limited safety factor if it settles to close to .14
On the other hand if I seriously believe that it will fall to .10 or lower I could leverage that sale to get back in with many more shares for the same initial investment. I would be disappointed to miss that op but would expect the price to rebound through March and potentially another spike up prior to the release of the iwatch which is expected in April?, again on speculation until some concrete facts come out.
So my assessment is that the .14 ish price is possible to maintain or regain after Monday, but over of period of a few months if the price tanks. Am I willing to take the risk of missing the opportunity to buy in lower for better long term gains? Questions I have:
Are those who bought on speculation Monday and short going to liquidate?
Are longs going to liquidate to leverage the op or just get gone?
Is there any truth to the S6 rumor?
Is there any real connection to a military contract for LQMT armor piercing ammo in March?
Will the iWatch and newest iPhone contain anything LQMT?
What IS the value of the knife manufacturing contract?
How will that contract affect revenue and PPS?
gorgol, I am hoping you are right, but I am not optimistic today. Pending any new developments, I think the we are going to see a dip back down to .15-.16, small rally after the price settles, then then settle back to .1625-.165. We will see I guess, I hope I am wrong because I would like to see .20.
Side note about the Samsung connection. I personally simply do not have enough information to figure out if that is real or crap. Meaning does the S6 really use Liquidmetal? BUT I have seen a lot of chatter from folks who are speculating creating the perception of it being true. I guess we will all see Sunday.
Popping again today?? Seems like there was a lot of interest at the end of trading yesterday and I am wondering if Liquidmetal will pop up again today? I get that it may be on speculation, but thinking yesterday was fun to watch. Activity seems to be point to north of .17 (my wish?)at the open today which is substantially higher than .144 :) Anyway I don't trade on a daily basis and I am in till June to see what might happen.
Totally agree. I got in late last year. Great reprieve from the daily grind of reading this board.
Not exactly an article about NUS only, but very interesting. Confirms reports I had read previously.
