No revenue from Apple only means nothing is signed. I feel like we are building a form of sweat equity with Apple. Once Apple sees that Visser, Engel and Materion can handle the full supply chain, I think we may get something in writing. With that said, Apple is definitely a few years out.
This was by far the most positive and professional conference call that Steipp has been a part of. I am truly excited. Who thinks we may see a small jump tomorrow?
Watts,
Thank you for your posting the prices. This is so obvious that anything that can be made from Titanium should be made from Liquidmetal assuming the dimensions are suitable for injection molding. It would be thinner, lighter and stronger or as strong.
It took Titanium a long time before it stampeded the market. I think Liquidmetal still has time on its side.
I hope we jump a lot on Monday prior to earnings. Then I hope we keep stated momentum into the Apple announcement. I would love it if we were able to get to exactly $0.63. I have 60,000 shares to dump at break even. Then hopefully I can add to my position at a discount.
That's a stupid idea. So Apple is supposed to announce to the world that it has the production capacity of liquidmetal for a measly $1,000,000. STUPID.
Chris,
Will you please post the link to the video. I can't find it .
Watts,
How expensive is liquidmetal compared to titanium. If we were comparing a pound of each.. I'm curious. Do you believe LQMT could replace titanium in many small applications?
Those are the drawings of the fuel-cell collector plates from the Apple patent. I always thought the drawing resembles the grooves on the back of the case.
The grooves in the shell kind of resemble these drawings.. Watts, i surely hope you do remember what these are!

Nice dual shot. it's an insert. Now is the shell LQMT? That's the million dollar question.
What PE Ratio would that be?
I'd say that if the unibody is made of liquidmetal, that should do it. The residual effect is a ton of free advertising and then the immediate announcement of orders from businesses piggybacking on the marketing of the alloy.
In July, there were only 212 common stockholders. If Apple uses this, the number of common stock holders should skyrocket
Maybe the back of the phone gets uncomfortably hot. That is what the insulation is for. Give some room for it to breathe
Watts,
This is a classic bounce off of the 100SMA. We are building a classic support here absent of any news.
All the sales were for $3,000. Those were to offset their gains on their taxes. These are $3,000 losses. Very simple. Why else would a multimillionaire sell $3,000 exactly.
I am starting to hope Apple doesn't use this until next year because I can't load up again until January. With that said, I hope that we start getting purchase orders from other companies to just keep this stock at or near it's current level. If so, I may add another 80,000 shares.
I believe this is almost a sure bet long term as Engel is inventing the machines that could someday revolutionize manufacturing processes. I don't care if it takes four years for Apple to use it. If and when they do, if we are already at a dollar, we could jump pretty high in my opinion.
If the military finds a use for liquidmetal, this could be huge. The problem has always been in manufacturing. With Engel an their injection molding machine, companies may start buying. I can't wait to see the Visser website when it finally goes online.
And will someone tell me why the Olympics have equestrian events? You could make the argument for an unfair advantage due to their horse. Am I wrong?
I hope liquidmetal is used in high quality applications and that the name (as cool as it sounds) goes vital.
Apple invented the personal computer. APPLE II
Apple invented the mouse as we know it.
Apple invented the Graphical User Interface as we know it.
Apple invented the modern MP3 player as we know it. IPOD (everyone then copied).
Apple invented the smartphone as we know it. IPHONE (everyone then copied).
Apple invented the tablet computer as we know it. IPAD (everyone then copied).
Warren Buffet is a value investor. He doesn't understand technology which is a shame. Anybody with half a brain could see that Apple was very special and would have years and years of exponential growth. Warren missed the train.
Watts,
What are the odds we get in on this action?

Hello Oracle,
I just noticed your private messages and wanted to respond. I have been following APPLE, the company (not only the stock) for the past six years. Apple is all about design but they are smart. They design products that are timeless. This allows them to keep a set design for more than one generation.
iPhone (1 generation)
iPhone 3G and 3GS (2nd generation body type)
iPhone 4 and 4S (3rd generation body type)
The next iPhone will look however it does but I don't think we have the machines ready to put out 160 million LQMT iPhones this year. The other thing about Apple is that it is a company run by the number one supply chain manager on the planet, Tim Cook. Tim is not going to risk his reputation or the company on a product that he isn't certain he can deliver. This means that if Tim must wait one more generation, he will.
This new phone will keep the same body shape and style for two years just like the previous iterations. Therefore, if it isn't used in the unibody of this phone, it may be another two years before Apple decides to implement this technology in a major way. The other thing is that this reasoning would also fall in line with Atakan Peker's logic that Apple can't incorporate this technology in larger form factors like the casing for the MacBook Pro until maybe 2014. I believe that Apple will want to launch liquidmetal as a revolutionary brand.
I have a very long time horizon for this stock. I hope to hold it for years. With that said, I hope it rises based upon non-Apple orders and then finally jumps violently if Apple decides to use it. My hope is that we are trading at over a dollar per share before any major Apple announcement. My reasoning is that any major AAPL announcement will cause this to jump in a big way.
Just my two cents.
That IS interesting.
I wonder what kind of spike would lead to those shorts covering. I would love to see huge news cause this stock to spike very hard and cause those shorts to get trapped. It honestly would make my day.
Epson will make 1500 tons which is equal to 3,000,000 pounds worth of the amorphous alloy.

Chris,
I still don't think the new iPhone will have a liquidmetal case. I think the big revelation will be 4G with NFC and a 4" screen. Aside from that, I don't think it will see many changes. The price today increased because the 10 day SMA bounced off of the 100 day SMA. That's all today was.
I think next year will be our year of glory.
You will see that we will bounce off the 100SMA in the next two weeks.. This dip will be short lived. In two weeks, the 100SMA will begin a stablization pattern or dip slightly because it will have passed the early may jump.
Then we will trend horizontal until real news hits the wire.
Hey Watts, what are your thoughts?
http://www.patentlyapple.com/patently-apple/2012/07/apple-working-on-advanced-display-for-future-video-glasses.html#more
Why wouldn't Apple use LQMT for the body of these glasses. They would be both stronger and lighter than the competition. They would also be more comfortable due to noted properties. I have personally worn the google glass project and they were very comfortable. I think Apple and Google are about to extend their war to wearable devices!
I agree. A reverse split would really suck.
These are the robots Foxconn will be ordering 300,000 units of.
August 10.
100SMA will go horizontal..
August 10, 2012
The 100 day SMA will go horizontal until the next leg up
BIG NEWS:
http://iphone.appleinsider.com/articles/12/07/19/made_in_america_apples_supply_chain_increasing_us_production.html
One Apple supplier, Avago Technologies, is currently expanding its manufacturing processes in Fort Collins, Colo., and is planning to buy as much as $130 million worth of manufacturing equipment. Avago is responsible for making a custom part for Apple's iPhone 4S that allows one handset model to connect to multiple forms of wireless networks around the world, according to IHS iSuppli.
Furthermore,
LQMT is a disruptive technology. What that means to me is that when Apple starts using this, we will have a higher PE than TIE due to the hyper-growth we will experience. $3 per share is highly conservative in my opinion.
Apple iPhone 4 bill of materials:
Look in the "other" section.
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Lj7sgQ8eELw/TCkPK-T2dyI/AAAAAAAADXo/29BPf31m4a0/s1600/iPhone4.jpg
Watts,
In prior research, I documented that the iPhone 4 case costs more than 6 dollars. You can look up the cost online for all iPhone 4 parts. This is totally feasible. Plus the cost would be much less due to lower cost of production. Mark my words, it'll happen.
Very Important:
Would Apple using liquidmetal still allow Apple to conform to the EPEAT environmental standard?
I understand the point you are making Watts. Intel and Apple co-developed lightpeak which Apple officially branded as "thunderbolt". You are saying we should have forced Apple to use the name Liquidmetal. Well, a failing company can't force an Apple to do anything so we probably had no leverage. With that said, if Apple says the iPhone 5 is an amorphous alloy and we get access to all of Apple's technology, it won't really matter because it will be quite obvious to the public what Apple is using and the Internet blogs will be all over the name Liquidmetal.
We'll be just fine.
Quoted directly from the 8k section of the Master Transaction Agreement on page 2.
On August 5, 2010, Liquidmetal Technologies, Inc., a Delaware corporation (“Liquidmetal”), entered into a Master Transaction Agreement with Apple Inc., a California corporation (“Apple”), pursuant to which (i) Liquidmetal contributed substantially all of its intellectual property assets to a newly organized special-purpose, wholly-owned subsidiary (the “IP Company”), (ii) the IP Company granted to Apple a perpetual, worldwide, fully-paid, exclusive license to COMMERCIALIZE such intellectual property in the field of consumer electronic products in exchange for a license fee, and (iii) the IP Company granted back to Liquidmetal a perpetual, worldwide, fully-paid, exclusive license to commercialize such intellectual property in all other fields of use (together with all ancillary agreements, the “Master Transaction Agreement”).
Watts,
I have been thinking about what the term "commercialize" might mean.. I'm not sure if Apple agreeing to commercialize Liquidmetal means they will be promoting the brand or whether it means they will be assisting in moving the technology forward at a pace that allows them to become a viable entity and marketable.. What do you think. Either manner would be to make it commercially viable, which they clearly were not prior to the Apple news in August of 2010.
