THANKS, It's fun but will be short lived, my season starts and I am on the road for almost the next 17 weeks, all summer... Jet Ski Racing Season...
But I'll have my lap top and it will be fun to see who is 'bitch'n about one thing or another...
The commercials might air on ROS spots on cable systems like Time Warner and Comcast, to promote the show for local advertisers.
The promo on the site looks great, all I can say is thank god they were not in full blown stock cars, since it seems they all spun out in the video and non of them could drive.....but that is kind of the point... like being dumber than a 5th grader...
Well back to my life, cya guys,
Well that is the difference between the BMW racing School and the Baundurant Racing school. Where I got certified to race Indy Light Cars. Did you have 'racing theory' like Aerodynamic fundamentals, Transient Stability, Ride and Roll rates, Suspension Geometry, were you taught in a Class room? Or was this one of those deal where you pay a team owner who gives you a few pointers and then you go out and race his car for the 'ticket' I have a friend who did that. It's no 'school' and Kansas isn't Vegas, Phoenix or Pamona CA
Again, when you go to 'race school' the first thing you race is 'karts' Have your driven those $3500 cars in Vegas, I have. They are tuned down and don't go over 100mph, the karts can do 120mph, 'The Prize; is to race a 'NASCAR' car. All you have to do is look to Survivor to see how 'Reality TV Works' Just like RRGI is doing it.
It's a "reality Tv show" What's Fair? What's Real?
The apprentice contestants lived in tents this year in LA, They washed dogs,
The 5th graders are 'actors' on the Dumb 5th grade show.
They are coached in their answers,
If you want to know 'how' the industry really works, subscribe to Variety or Hollywood Reporter, they cost about $360 dollars per year.
Thanks, and good/lucky/us!!
A note on Go-Karts
As a professional Jet Ski Racer. Sea-Doo sent us to two driving race car schools. They said if we new how to race on the 'track' it would help us in the water.
One school is the Baunderant School of Racing at Firebird Raceway in Phoenix and one is the START BMW Racing School in Orlando.
BOTH schools start you out in racing Go-Karts. These Karts go 80 to 120mph, you are two inches off the ground so it seems like you are going about 200mph.
Both schools said that with no suspension and being so close to the ground, that the karts were unforgiving, and that if you learned how to 'race a kart' you could race anything on 4-wheels. The top four NASCAR racers all got their starts in Kart Racing, and Danica Patrick who races Indy Car also got her start in Kart Racing.
Hey Everyone,
Been busy for awhile, think last time I was here, I said bringing in Jay Middleton and family was a good thing. I guess that was right. Just wanted to up-date you on what i think of the production, "just based on the pictures posted on the RRGI website.
They are using very high end HD Video Cameras, they are Panasonic's and they shoot in 1080i HD the camera's go for about $7K but they do not shoot to tape, they shoot to P1 Digital Cards, kind of like the cards that go in digital cameras, but these cost about $1200 a piece, each camera has two of them, "they are NOT included in the price of the camera" they only hold 20 minutes (so they qwould have to have at least 8 cards per camera to capture footage each day) of PURE HD 1080i Video. This is the 'purest form" of video to get out of a camera, these cards are then 'loaded' into a computer for editing. They have two on the set. They also have two audio technicians on the set, it looks like each audio tech is using a DAT "digital audio recorder/mixer' with boom mics and wireless. This gives the purest digital sound, and separates sound capture from video capture, "just like how they do it in the movies". The also appear to have two lighting techs, with a full blown light kit, Reflectors, Screens, looks to be 5K Halogen. So it appears they have two full blown crews, Filming in the Best HD available. So, based on the photos, it looks like a very high end, professional shoot, where no 'production corners' have been cut. Again all of this is based on the pictures I saw on the website.
Your right about a show being pulled anytime. FOX just pulled DRIVE after only four shows. But a cable network usually lets the program run its season 13 shows, after all they have nothing to loose, they did not produce the show and any money that comes in for them from advertising is pure profit. I would think for the stock to go up, we would need to see relatively good ratings, for a cable TV show, that only needs to be about 300,000 viewers, and some major sponsors like Ford, Coke, Pepsi, Burger King, Play Station.
I would like to thank AL who was a good balance to the likes of those posting who called the management of RRGI crooks and scam artists which I think hurt this stock and took it down to the 2-cent mark. Those constant postings and lack of info from RRGI sure scared off a lot of people from buying in, and scared some people into selling, including myself as I sold some too. I said in an early post that bringing in Jay Middleton and family was a very smart move on RRGIs part and I think that relationship will pan out even more as the program begins airing. So thanks to Al, and the many of his facts!!!
Not bad
Well, you impressed me this time. You do know your motorsports. I agree, NASCAR is based on those legends. As are most sports in this country. Young (racers) may look up and aspire to be like, emulate and accomplish as much as those legends. So yes, someone who wants to race professionally, someone who wants to be a NASCAR driver, will respect and admire those legends when they are on Reality Racing TV. Just like the American Idol contestants were awed by Tony Bennett. But..and this is the big but... The viewer, the person who is not 'into' the sport. The one who watches the TV show for "entertainment value" and has no plans to be a NASCAR driver or do any more racing than he can from his couch, well he does not care. To that viewer, and hopefully 1000's like him, will give RR some great ratings, "its the who you are "now" not who you were then. As an example. The lowest rated American Idol was the Tony Bennett Show. The highest rated J-Lo.
Now to answer you about my racing experience. I raced 41 foot B-Class Offshore Power Boats for Team Coca Cola in 1987 thru 1989 winning a World Championship. I was a factory racer for Sea-Doo Watercraft winning a National Championship. I earned a very nice living in both sports. Sea-Doo sent me to the Boundurant School of RACE CAR DRVING in Phoenix and to the START MERCEDES RACE CAR SCHOOL in Orlando, where I was "certified" to race Indy Light Cars. As a professional racer, I can tell you the only interest I had was crossing the finish line first, not who did it 1 year, ten years or "oh my god" 30 years before me.
As weird as it sounds, it is Friday the 13th and I really know people who will not trade, or do business deals today.. Spooky ;;;
The only reason I 'asked' if you were bipolar, is because your post yesterday accused me of being a pumper and today you called me a basher. Now if you just want to talk about 'Race Car Drivers' Fine.
I am not taking away anything from their 'legend' status. And true if RR was on CBS where the average age of the viewer is like 49. Then those legends would have a place. But SPIKES viewers, and according to RRGI that is the network we are on, their average age is like 22, They won't know and won't care who those old guys are.
My point was that RR was making a good business decision by bringing in someone to target the demographic of the network.
And now I have to go to work, Have fun. Oh and thanks for the hair comment...
Thanks. I don't have lots of time to hang out here, but I do check before I start my day and when I end it.
Sometimes I can't believe what I read here. Example. Apple announced yesterday that their new operating system, which was suppose to be out June 1st will now not be out till October. The reason, they don't have the resources to devote to their iPhone and the New operating system, "come on it's Apple, No resources" Now if the likes of MiMi BOBO and others were on the Apple Hub Post, would they be calling Apple a 'scam'?
My point, stuff just happens in business. Racing and TV are the hardest business to be in. It took NASCAR almost 30 years to get on broadcast TV.
Just an observation.
Rogquest, are you bipolar? Yesterday you said I was pumping the stock by pointing out who Jay was and showing people where to look at a video of him. Today you are saying I am bashing the stock because I called the first group of NASCAR guys associated with RR almost dead. Trust me. If you got to SPIKES site, and read the marketing info you can see that their demographics are mostly male, 15 to 25. That means most of their viewers where not even born when those guys were racing. However, it does mean that Jay Middelton is the exact same age as the demo. So which side of your brain is reading this the pump side or the bash side?
It would be "real" interesting to see who would come out and 'trash' this press release.
The purpose of the post was to show who Jay was for those who did not know him. The racer and the segment were good enough to air on FOX. The message here was not to pump the stock, but just to show the uninformed who Middleton was and that FOX was interested in him enough to profile him.
So the only 'light' is focused on Jay. I think I have posted here maybe a dozen times and only posted facts on specific items when asked.
So again, I ask the question what is wrong with informing people on this board who already own stock, who the person is in the press release and if I have access to the FOX profile video post, why not let everyone look at it.
I have not confirmed or denied who I am, and as I understand I don't have to.
So, after reading your post, what's the problem, where is the pump.
PS: iClipx Video Podcast Network ( i am sure you don't know what that is. But it is similar to You Tube. Anybody can post any video they want. So, Even though it may be owned by Skip Fredricks, anyone could have posted the video.
You should be excited, that RR actually has someone who is 'really racing and really on TV, instead of those almost dead old NASCAR guys.
Jay Middleton on You Tube
What we should do, is invest in this board, turn it into the first Jerry Springer Post show. This would be a great TV show.
I am not here to debate, or respond to anyone, as a matter of fact I don't come here at all. But I have seen him race, I have seen the TV cameras and the fans follow him around. He is good enough to one day jump to NASCAR. He is young and the girls like him. And his family has bucks. One last thing, BO BO if you have stock, why? wouldn't you want it to go up?
I dont' get that. I want everyones stock to go up. Not because I love everyone, but it all goes up together yours, mine, ours. I am assuming most people here already purchased the stock so I am not 'taking' money from anyone. Just really hoping everyone makes out okay. Seems to me, with all your statements, you are the one that is taking peoples money! BOBO
Okay, will let you guys go back to killing yourselves.
I think having the contestant shows, make sense all reality shows do it, and it saves them all money. Nothing wrong with that. So, if you have two shows done like they said, you could shoot one show a week. Which is pretty much what most TV shows do. Although some shoot months out, they still only shoot about one show per week. Two days of shooting Two to three days of editing.
How do you put up a picture, I have one of Jay, and I think there is a video of him on YouTube. I am not pumping anything. I am just telling you who Jay and his family are.
I have a full time job and I am a part time pro Jet Ski Racer among many other things. Bewtween work and season starting keeps you busy, I read the posts, in the morning, but afterwards I get so PO'd at some of the post, I just move on. Also since I have nothng to say, I don't say anything. But today, I know what I know so I post.
I hope I am right too. See the old names got the investors 'us'. Now we need the young names to get the viewers, to get the media, and to get some 'street cred with the current stock of racers and since RR already has 'us' they don't need the old names anymore. Like you said, everyone wanted news, well we got news and it still says we are airing on SPIKE. "doesn't say when, but it at least still says airing.
Your right, the other names are OLD and the 18 to 25 year old viewers which are Spikes Demographic, won't know any of the old almost dead NASCAR guys, but they willl know middleton.
There is PR in the Biz Section of the RRGI Yahoo Stock Page
Press Middleton has MONEY. Besides the fact that he really is a solid up and coming racer, gets tons of press, and wins races, is that he and his family have major racing and sponsorship connections and a father, who funds his team to the tune of about one million bucks a year. The family Is very very wealthy, he owns/or runs/or has something to do with a pharmaceutical company. To me this bring three things that RR was missing 'real current racing experience, a young recognizable face, and I would think the ability to get cold hard cash. How do I know all this, I was involved in a Pro/Am race and afterwards hung out with Jay, and was invited to 'Their' own track and facility in Florida.
I don't come here anymore cause it reminds me of the "Enquirer" but after reading the PR this morning, I thought I would post some first hand facts.
No Video ads, but there were banner ads on the website and cell site, and they had a GameZnFlix banner up at the event
iClipx did it, it was on last Sat night The event itself was running one hour behind. That was not an iClipx issue but an event issue. I was at the fight and watching it on my cell phone. Had some friends watching it on their computers. It wasn't perfect, it hiccuped a bit, but it was pretty cool.
There are 100 million cell phones in the U.S People between the ages of 13 and 25 have them permanently attached to their hand. Funny isn't that the Video Game Player demographic..Just say'n
iClipx has been doing it for four months. If you have a web enabled phone. "a phone that can get the internet" They have built a specail site formatted for phones. www.iclipx.mobi You can take a look at it on your regular web browser, but of course it won't look right because it is desing for cell phones. It pretty cool. At the jet ski races we can sit at the pits, and watch the current race on our black berry's ...
Guess You have never watched Ameican idol. Some of the strongest ratings are the contestant search.
Who cares about people who can really sing, I want to watch the whack jobs that suck.
If I want to watch 'Real' race car drivers I'll watch NASCAR on Sunday Afternoons. What I wnat to see is people who think they can race and try out and look like idots, just like some people on this site who think they know about what is going.
This board would make a good reality show.
What scam was that? I thought they have been working on RR for two years, some of the press releases you can find on Google go back that far. So what scam was that?
Yes I am new to trading. But I don't see the 'scam' If the people that are running the company are not paying themselves, then what is wrong with them selling off some of there stock. They are working, putting in time running the business. I don't see where selling their own stock to 'live' until they can get paid is wrong or illegal. The guys at Google, sell off some of their stock to "live"
And it doesn't matter that I don't know that much about trading, cause it seems by your post, you never talk about trading either, just about scams. Maybe if RR was a PO Box, and they didn't actually do the castings, and they just pretty muched disappeared into the sunset, then maybe your one sentence trash talking would have an effect on me or this board and I don't think it does. And I am beginning to think your a FRAUD too. Cause a real 'lady' wouldn't say "kiss my ass" So you must be a guy, which means your the scam.
mimi, You bitch when they dont provide information and you bitch now when they do. Give me a break. R&R & Lee did not have to post anything. I agree with pretty much everyone else on this board, mimi, the stock is back up so why not sell, go away, so YOU can stop diluting our shares with your constant unsupported tails of corruption and scam. Give me a break. Al thanks for your work
Hey I am new to this board. A professional Jet Ski Racer and Yes you can earn a great living at it. It is one of the most sponsored of the extreme sports. Found out about Gameznflix last summer when they were sponsoring the Surf & Turf National Jet Ski Tour. They were the main sponsor of the series, and they were giving each of the racers free 30 day memberships. None of us ever heard of them till then, but everyone heard of Netflix. Well they never really pushed movie rentals, they pushed video game rentals, which was pretty smart, since most of the racers, are between the ages of 20 and 30 and most of the 1000's of fans that go to these events are between 15 and 25. So, yes I got a free membership and signed up. Then I checked out the stock and could believe how cheap it was to buy, so I purchased a bunch. Never did that before. I do pretty good racing and can make at least 10K in prize money per event. I have been reading post here for a couple of weeks now, and thought I would just toss some stuff into the mix. 1st I think GameZnflix is smart for branching out into other forms of media distribution. The days of DVD's in the mail will last a couple more years. Everybody in my age group, downloads to Ipods and for most of us we get that content from iClipx. GameZnflix was smart to team up with them. Because iClips 'is' the destination for extreme sport shows and videos. They are smart doing the TV shows to they are targeting the same market, the gaming market, that is where the rentals will come from, a new video game can cost $60 bucks, renting the game makes way more sense. Some of you have made fun of the bus. The bus was great, the guy hosting the video game competition was the same age as me, he was hanging out with the racers, and he was just sort of embedded in the whole event. The only way your going to get to the Gaming market is hang with them, the bus is cool, the host was cool. They didn't 'sell' us they were a part of us. So I don't know if they are doing the tour this year. But I think they are on the right track With extreme sports, iClipx, downloads, and TV shows. Okay have to go out and earn a living, Riding my jetski
For a guy claiming be be great at doing Due Diligence. I guess you need to go back and "Do" the diligence.
Skip Fredricks, Resigned from the company in October 06, to pursue a major motion picture that began pre-production in November 06 . The press release was posted on the RR site and in the Yahoo Biz Section. RR then brought in Del Weston another 'major' producer. With a long history in TV/Film to take over.
'oo' not like it was some big secret.
I also own stock in three other companies on the 'hub' it amazes me, that no matter how good or bad the other companies do, the people that post to those boards do not trash the company like some of the people on this board do.
Every time you speculate, and you speculate on the negative, you only hurt your own investment...of course unless that is what you want, so you can send the value of the stock into the gutter, and then buy it cheap?
I don't post much, but do read, and i have noticed in the lat few weeks, more an more people dropping off this board, and post by the same few over and over?
No, wave runner is not producer. But these Reality TV shows, make up the bulk of what is happening here in LA now, All Producers are getting a ton of work out of this 'crap' "we all hate reality TV. But I look to stocks that I can afford that are in my business expertise, as I am sure others on this board do. If another poster validates what I say, great. But I do agree with a post I think by Tweedie. It is hard to believe anybody on these boards. And it's scary to think, that rumors, ideas, rants, by the non-informed can have an effect on my investment.
Hey Bonded,
All your 'stones' and the questions under them are valid questions. Except for some of those related to production. I do know they were suppose to air on FOX Sports Net when they first started this thing. But It was with in or part of another program and even though the name FOX sounds BIG. FOX Sports Net really is not, it is made up of 23 regional sports network, that each have their own program directors, and in some cases other partners and owners. FOX Sports Net does not even have 'real' Neilson ratings. So, holding off for a 'Real' Network like SPIKE "and i am not saying SPIKE is all that 'real' even though they do have Neilson, and veiwership has sky rocketed do to UFC. That for R&R was a way, way better move.
Yes they could have rented HD cameras for the shoot. Yes if it was me and I was producing this, I might be shooting now, however a 45 day window is pretty normal.
So, for those on the is board I don't think I would be worried that they are not filming yet. The could start In April and still make their deadline. It's to bad their not racing head to head. All I can think is that the liability may be to great. Insurance can be 10K to 15K on some of the projects i do, and I don't have inexperienced racers flying around a track.
I did not go, but a few 'actor' friends of mine I guess tried out for the show here in LA a couple of months ago, they try out for any Reality Shows.
I can understand how everyone wants to speculate here, but really I think we all our going to have to wait till the show gets on the air, on the date it's suppose to.
I wish I had the time to sit here and review the board all day, but TV never sleeps I work 15 hours a day, every day. So, see yah when I get some free time.
Hey Bonded,
I do production work in LA and I am on the Paramount Studio Lot frequently.
Steven Spielberg has an office here. Its about 500 square feet. He is never there, I guess that means he is 'not' making any pictures?
R&R isn't a production company. I expect, that if you go to the production company that is shooting the TV show, They are working on it.
Just I side bar. Paramount has no 'one' working in there office on 'production' they don't own any of their own cameras, or lights, the 'Sub' everything out to independent companies.
One last note on why R&R has an office and if that makes them a 'real' company.
ESPN does not own their own equipment, they rent from a company called Bexel, who also provides a crew. All the cameras and crew at this years Super Bowl were rented from Bexel in Orlando.
Bexels office in Orlando is about 1000 square feet in a nondescript office/warehouse complex. If you went there to rent cameras, You would not see them, You would have to look in a catalog, doesn't mean they don't rent them or have them, they ship from CA.
Most independent producers like myself work out of our homes. When I need a crew, I call them up we meet at Starbucks and I set the production. I do work for Universal Pictures, Paramount, FX, and FOX, they don't care if I work out of a trailer as long as i do the job.
I do award winning programs that you have more than not watched on TV. But I guess because I work out of my house its not 'real' work.
I think maybe a half a dozen people on this board have some TV production knowledge, I have been reading post here for months, but bonded1 your post and remarks about what qualifies a 'real' company and 'real' production are so dumb I had to respond.
It doesn't matter when R&R starts filming as long as SPIKE has that tape one day before it's suppose to air.
I have stock. The concept sounds great. You wouldn't believe all the crappy Reality Show Concepts that I get pitched, or know about.
Why wouldn't this program work? Think about Nanny 911, Who's Your Mommy, Wife Swap, and all the other junk. Here you got cars, and amateur racers, I am going to watch just for the crashes and so are a lot of other people.
