Wasn't BJ scheduled to speak to Julia today?
I just can't resist....did you mean to type 'competent' ?
GREAT POST RUSH !!!!!
Morning all.....
.....there was once a time when this board was interesting, and, at times entertaining. Now it seems to have become a contest for several posters.....to see who can come up with the most creative fiction.
Pinkie.....
.....sorry you took my post the way you did. I think most here already know that if I had wanted to say or imply anything about NDOL, I would just come out and say it.
I was MERELY pointing out a stock which had run quite a bit in one week....and one I believed had plenty of strength to run substantially more.....and was sharing it.
I come across stocks like this about twice a month and have never mentioned them because I did not want to be seen in any way as contributing to anyone losing money if that were to happen. I guess I better stick to that idea, or at least not mention a stock here unless NDOL has an up day.
Have a nice weekend
Another week.....
......same old, same old. That is not why I stopped in. I was so distracted last Friday with the back and forth between us that I failed to mention a pinkie I had been looking at and picked up at .14. I knew it was a gamble, and may be a P&D, but there are alot of gamblers here.
Whether it is legit, or a P&D, I believe it is still early enough to make some money......LFZA
I think Wrongjoe,
...that we may be discussing the chicken and the egg or smoke and fire as to which comes first; you stated:
"""Old Investor, I enjoy our exchanges, which is why I answer. But I still think you only choose to post after you sell a load following a PR and are looking to build another entry point (and investor doubt). Your motives are not as altruistic as you say.""""
It might also be that right after the price has risen for a couple of days, and then falls back.....everyone gets really
pi**ed off and starts complaining and the unrealistic and outrageous claims start surfacing which prompts me to put my two cents in...LOL.
You may notice that the only thing that got me posting this week was that two posts referred to me, and I took that as a sign that I was actually being missed, and that some folks were subconciously asking me to express my opinions...:)
Before that, with all the uncertainty as to when the AIM admission might be, all I posted were the links to AIM which would provide anyone interested a chance to see whether or not a listing process had begun, and if so, where in the process it was.
Born and bred in the Bronx....
....my father had a little superette a block away from the stadium on River Ave. Back in those days ball players were regular people.....no gold chains, Caddy Escalades with entourages, etc. They walked the neighborhood and shopped the neighborhood. I met them all, and I have to say my dad happened to be very friendly with alot of the players and management. I was a sports nut back in those days, was even a ballboy one season. Odd thing was that I wasn't a real Yankee fan....first the Giants and then the Mets...LOL.
Basketball season I was a 'street urchin' at the Garden...LOL. Can't tell you how many nights I spent walking to the subway stations carrying gym bags for the old Knicks. My brother dated Red Holzmans daughter for 2 years. (Can you imagine a pro athlete today traveling on the subway,,,,haha)
Absolutely no other place in the world to grow up. I still remember riding the #15-A bus standing on the back bumper with my fingertips gripping the rubber around the windows and breathing in the thick carbon monoxide fumes....I loved that smell...LOL.
Hope my trip down memory lane hasn't bored you guys,,,,but I'm sure that CFBJBS would agree that "you can take the kid out of the city, but you can't take the city out of the kid"
good point, TIGER....thanx
EUREKA, I've figured out....
.....why Wrongjoe and I can't seem to agree. We are actually looking at the 8-k in different ways. I think we can both agree that an 8-k is filed whenever a company has anything material to report (or something like that). Also, I think we both agree that the purpose of this 8-k was to report a merger agreement or share exchange agreement (call it what you will.)
Where we are running into difficulty, I think, is how we are viewing the contents of the 8-k. He believes that I am saying that the mention of audited financials is to satisfy the SEC, where it is not at all required in this case. He is absolutely correct.....and I totally agree with him there. What I believe I was probably not making clear is that I was referring to the contents of the 8-k, not the legality or necessity of the filing. What I was focused on was what I believe to be the contract between the parties, having nothing to do with the SEC. I am reading it strictly as an agreement between two parties....party 1 says I will do this, this, and this. Party 2 says I will do this, this, and this.....and when that is done our agreement is completed. Instead of financials, it could have been that party 1 will trade 2 Willy Mays and 2 Sandy Koufax for 3 Mickey Mantle and one Roger Maris. If that would have been their agreement, so be it....that is what the 8-k would have said.
It is clear in my head, but I don't know if I was able still to make it clear on paper....if anyone else can understand and write it more clearly, be my guest.
As Rodney Kings says...."why can't we just get along"...LOL
Thanx for the letter, GATOR.....
....it is not very often that I get to read anything civil written to me...LOL.
In answer to why I seem to always have a negative spin, all I can say is that someone has to counter some of the crazy, outrageous claims I often read here....whether it be that the move to AIM is imminent, or that the company is a takeover target at $7 or $8 a share, or that the SEC is holding up the symbol change, etc etc etc. I think if you look back, you will find most, if not all of my comments appear when there is a fact I believe is wrong, or that as in this past week when the PR's released that drove so many here to claim that the info should lift the share price anywhere from .40 to a dollar overnight. I am satisfied if I make even one person stop to think before they jump on the bandwagon and lose money.
As far as my ever admitting to being wrong....I have never had that problem if it was pointed out clearly. You mention the North-West site and my claim that there is absolutely no mention of Nord Oil...there isn't. Not one mention of Stratton Stevens, not one mention of Gerald Parkin, not one mention at all of any connection at all to a Canadian company.
As far as what I posted yesterday. Does the 8-k NOT say audited financials from both parties? Does it NOT say that RSM Top Audit is accepted under the standards of the SEC?
Still don't understand.....
Won't bother discussing the fact that this was NOT a reverse merger...but will ask you to clarify these conditions of the SHARE EXCHANGE AGREEMENT taken directly from the 8-K:
4.7 Delivery of Financial Statements
4.7.1 As soon as possible, each Party shall provide the following Financial Statements to the other, which statements shall be collectively referred to as the "Financial Statements":
4.7.1.1 audited balance sheets as of the end of each of the two most recent fiscal years or such shorter period as they (including its predecessors) have been in existence
4.7.1.2 the audited statements of income and cash flow for each of the three fiscal years preceding the date of the audited balance sheet referred to in 4.7.1.1 above or such shorter period as they Including its predecessors) have been in existence;
4.7.1.3 the Balance Sheet as of 31 March 2006;
4.7.2 The Financial Statements referred to above, in par. 4.7.1.1 and 4.7.1.2 shall be audited by RSM Top-Audit, being duly registered and in good standing with the securities and exchange commissions and certified by the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board.
Also, I was asking how this last paragraph concerning RSM-TopAudit jives with what WRONGJOE claimed in his post earlier today when he stated that RSM TopAudit was not accepted by the SEC.
You may titter all you like....it is good for the human body....but some sort of clarity would also be good.
They did the first Nord website....also do AURC.
Looks alot better than the old site so far...LOL
Airdale....
.....I was only asking a question. Can you answer it or not?
Have you read the 8-K I am referring to?
where did I say I was tired?...:)
AIRDALE 1....
....at NO TIME did I characterize that PR to be meritless!!!!
What I said was that going from a top six auditing firm to a top four auditing firm really should not have a MATERIAL effect on the present share price of NWOG.
Not really, TALON....
......a pretty consistent range (and pretty profitable so far) has been buying around .15 or .16 and selling at .20 or .21. Should it hit a dime, all it means is an extra nickel of profit for me I wasnt planning on. Before they went dark, I never would have expected them to hit a dime.
Not afraid to admit that .....
.....after reading the post regarding RSM-TopAudit, I am now totally confused....:).
Back in July, during the various discussions re: whether the merger was actually completed, I pointed out very clearly that one of the conditions of the merger was that both companies provide audited financials. North West Oil Group provided financials audited by RSM-TopAudit, Nord Oil provided no audited financials.....but the claim was that the merger had definitely been completed and I was wrong. I was not the only one taking this position, as some of the longs were also claiming the merger wasn't complete.
Now I am learning that RSM Top Audit cannot actually provide audited financials and expect them to be accepted by the SEC. If one looks at the 8-K filed with the SEC on June 5 it clearly states that the audit was done by RSM. It would seem to me, then, that the filing does not meet any SEC standard and cannot be considered valid. Plus, if Parkin knew this, why would he signoff on an SEC filing which he already knows is not acceptable. Awful confusing.
Can anyone clear it up for me without calling me names or questioning me as to why I am asking the question?
Can anyone clear this up
Actually TALON....
....by now I have made somewhere close to 40 grand on this stock
Lee.....
.......do you not see where I write very clearly in my post where I say...."I am saying this toungue in cheek...."
Do you have an understanding of what that phrase means?
Well GOLD.....
.....should I take the last line of your post to be a threat? Two tours of duty in Nam, and 23 years as a NYC firefighter
(where plenty of things have fallen on me, including parts of the WTC)....I don't scare easy....:)
We can beat this horse.....
.....to death. My only point was that the selection of a top four firm as opposed to a top six should have no material effect on the price of a stock...which is why this type of news had no effect on the share price, obviously.
There was no tactic nor innuendo involved.....Heck, I was just looking at some classic cars to buy when I saw my name pop up in a post. I felt I had a right to reply.
Tell me RNLand.....
.....is your idea of a stock message board one in which it is okay to bring up someones name, and when that person responds with facts you don't like you tell him to get lost?
I could probably take the time to find at least 25 posts from some of the REEEEAAAAL longs here who countered anything negative about financials by singing the praises of RSM TopAudit. My only question was why this new firm has any material effect on Nord Oil
Actually guys, after taking just one accounting class in college, I knew that there was no way I would ever become an accountant.
However, since you guys brought my name up, what is the big deal...LOL. Last year at this time, and for almost its whole life, one of the major themes in every press release of Nord Oil was the fact that RSM-TopAudit was their auditors. It was hailed as giving the company credibility because it was one of the top six in the world....now they have one of the top four....I really see no difference.
I would submit that one of the reasons they switched auditors might be that RSM Top Audit would no longer certify their financials, and hiring a new firm is merely a stalling tactic. (I am saying this toungue in cheek....ANYTHING can be spun any way a person wants.)
The ONLY thing going to make this company grow is the oil it brings out of the ground and sells on the world market. Promises of joint ventures, huge projects, untold billions of barrels of reserves look good on paper....but thats all it does. Not one penny to the bottom line, which is actually what the smart money on Wall Street looks for. Until the oil is pumped, refined, and sold, anything the company does is a DRAIN on assets
Chimpy McFlightsuit ????.....
.....AND THAT WOULD BE REFERRING TO WHO????
Here you are TIGER.....FWIW I sent an E-Mail to the LSE asking if there was any way I could find out whether a specific company (unnamed) had applied for admission, and if so, where in the process they were. I am pasting the reply I recieved....sorry I don't know how to turn it into a link.
Dear Mark,
We do have a link on our AIM section of the london stock exchange website which I have inserted below that lists companies that are either seeking admission or have been admitted to market in the last seven days.
http://investaquest.londonstockexchange.com/en-gb/products/companyservices/ourmarkets/aim_new/About+...
There is also a list of companies that are already listed on the AIM market which I have inserted below.

Finally, below is to a list of companies which are either seeking admission to either one of The London Stock Exchange's Markets or have been admitted in the last seven days.

Hope this helps.
Kind Regards
Internet Team
Glad I didn't disappoint you TIGER :).
I stop in at times now basically when I can offer a point of view as seen thru the eyes of one who is not emotionally involved with NWOG.
There have been times I could have added some meaningful DD but decided against it, because it would have been considered blind bashing since I don't know how to post links for documentation.
A project that big would be great news for a construction company.....but for an oil company, which admits there will be no payback for approximately 11 years from the start of construction, this does nothing for their bottom line....
Looks like....
......a race with AURC to see who can get down to a dime first...LOL.
FWIW......
......did anyone take note of the fact that on Sept. 14, when the name change was finalized, the address of record happened to still be the offices of Midland Baring. Most certainly an oversight on someones part...LOL.
Well SOMETIMES, as 2CREATE stated: "if the shoe fits...."
The ONLY counter to this notion is for someone to say this entire stock investment is a scam, which is being expressedly concocted & enacted by management to swindle money from investors. Is THIS what you are attempting to imply snow???
Funny how everyone could not wait until the name change....as if that would really have an effect on the share price....LOL
Wonder how long the old and outdated website will linger as a reminder of how little value Nord Oil, and the newly minted company, actually have. Just think....every time you want to get to the posts on this board you will be constantly faced with the old NORD OIL website...and all its gloom.
It is truly amazing to me that such little, insignificant news can generate so much excitement....
Must have something to do with desperate shareholders holding way too many shares of a non-performing company.
Shame on you for being negative....BJ is going to be VERY DISAPPOINTED....may even send you to your room with no iced tea and cookies !!!!
Should hit .16 by Friday....buy 100,000 shares, hold for a nickel...5 grand pocket change by next Friday !!!!
Gotta luv it!
Have just started looking into Aurus. I notice a press release states that AUDITED financials can be seen on their website. When I check the site, though, the financials are clearly marked UNAUDITED. Also, the header on the financials calls the company AURUC, not Aurus.
Not a very good first impression...........
Pretty sad, when the most positive aspect of a PR is the fact that a highly educated lawyer and executive from an ENGLISH speaking country has been able to compose a statement with a minimum of spelling and grammatical errors....LOL
Had I posted that months old PR I would have been ripped to shreds for not supplying the link, and trying to mislead and publish half truths.
First off, so far I have bought and sold this stock 3 times for a profit of close to $29,000....not bad when you consider some people are sitting on hundreds of thousands of shares for months on ened and have not made a penny.
And I notice you didn't bother to answer the question I posed to you LEE....
"If NDOL delists prior to their admission to AIM, would they not be disappearing? What obligations will they have to keep you informed about anything?
So far I have heard that the company is "too busy" to distribute info....yet they will spend hours talking to select shareholders....
They have an opportunity to distribute info that some investors might find relevant, and very positive....such as where in the listing process they are.... but yet choose to keep shareholders in the dark. It is NOT secret, as the listing process is a very transparent process....as the LSE designed it to be. (Have you ever heard of a pink having wonderful news to share and NOT sharing it?)
Read the AIM admissions procedures for oil and gas companies and see how much info they have to compile and present for scrutiny at the start of the process....and wonder why they don't think it should be shared with their shareholders.....including audited financials which they find "too cumbersome" as one of the reasons for delisting. They MUST present them to the LSE...why not to their shareholders?
Yesterday, someone criticized me for not having NDOL's best interests at heart. That is absolutely right!!!! Anyone who puts the company's interests before their own is destined to lose far more than they win.
Yes LEEBRET I did say that this company would disappear. Oddly enough, if you read some of the articles posted here yesterday, that is actually what many companies...indeed not all....do, after filing the same paperwork that NDOL did yesterday. Testimony in front of the SEC seems to support that a majority of companies who elect to 'delist' actually do disappear. They use the term "going dark".
Again....I am not saying this will happen here, but I am willing to bet that shareholders who owned shares in companies that went dark also swore that it happens to someone else, not them.
Just to clear things up....I am NOT the poster that directed to the articles I am referring to....the information is out there, as I am sure testimony in front of the SEC is out there as well....I guess if one were so inclined, it would not be hard to find more than was posted here yesterday.
