I think we're in good shape if Judge Andrews family members have loaded up on a sufficient number of AMRN shares by then..............A CYNICAL LONG WOULD SAY
We need to stay on offense and keeping these press releases top of mind.....
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/amarin-applauds-healthywomen-citizen-petition-180000604.html
Kiwi, you are aware that we weren't rejected in Germany because of not enough supportive studies......we were rejected because there was no comparison drug for what our molecule treats so they just picked one that wasn't a good comparative drug to use.
Exactly Rosem....... I also remember one of the Adcom doctors commenting that he was worried that this would become cardio candy...... to me, that's a comment that smells like he was afraid too many prescriptions would be given out. I mean, that's the whole point. The evidence was too strong not too vote for and it was 16-0. He was probably Nissen's secret lover..... who knows!
Well Kiwi, let me help set your expectation properly.......you are not going to see another independent study like Reduce-It using V so that more cardiologists will become convinced. Not happening unless you can convince someone to do it. AMRN has no incentive to spend that kind of money again.
So Kiwi, since you acknowledged a share buyback will most likely cause the PPS to rise, why do you have a problem with that? All longs in this stock are in the stock for the PPS to rise. You discount the fact that this management team may actually know what they are doing. AND, Your fantasy of AMRN doing another placebo controlled double blind study is never coming to fruition. Why would they do do that and risk a different result when they already received the desired indication?
BBI, you know more than you think..........they will carefully execute the buying and we won't know until the shares are actually purchased. I suspect that we won't even know the request was approved until after AMRN acquired some of the shares....it also wouldn't surprise me if an arrangement is already in place with a broker that has been accumulating shares for AMRN in anticipation of them getting this approval.
Capped at .8888 today.......... good price to buy back 56 Million shares perhaps?
and they aren't covered by your insurance provider.....cheap bastards....
Kiwi, I'm not sure there would ever be enough real world evidence to satisfy you. We just haven't greased the right palms yet for this to take off in the EU and China but we'll get there. The drug works. There's plenty of evidence that shows this. Statins lower cholerserol and so does eating Oreo cookies....... both have side effects yet Oreo cookie side effects take years to materialize..... yet Statins are prescribed like candy.......as soon as we can break through with a few more loud mouth, connected, influential thought leaders, sales and reimbursements will ramp up.
Kiwi, it makes me happy..........they don't have to buy it back but if they do at under $1, I for one am delighted. I forget the actual price they sold around 20 mil shares at $18 to raise cash ($360 Mil) and now they MAY buy back 50 million shares at under $1/sh. Brilliant if you ask me.
Yes, we knew this was coming...... so no surprise there
Form 4 overload
Well done Gusman.....
So ORBAPU.......you're basically saying that if I want to receive the benefits of aspirin, I can't just go chew on some tree bark? I'll miss the texture but oh well.
AMRN is on sale again........ I get excited as it reminds me of the very few times a year when Ribeye steaks go on sale around Easter, 4th of July, and Christmas. And just like those steak sales, I will buy some AMRN and store it in the freezer until it's time......
Agreed BBI........ they should run a commercial comparing the benefits of off the shelf fish oil to a Yugo...... and Vascepa to a Bentley or Rolls Royce.......show the PROVEN benefits of fish oil = ZERO and then the 30% RRR of Vascepa and lastly show the typical out of pocket annual cost of fish oil to the typical out of pocket annual cost of V from your healthcare provider....... have some fun with ad like this......
Fear not........ this dog will have it's day.....
Just like the rest of us..... a higher percentage
Along those same lines.....I'm expecting not much in terms of positive news press releases from the company until we announce a so so Q1 and approval of the stock buy back. Then we'll start to read about some good news such as progress in the EU and ROW. Just my gut feel.
JRoon...... that makes sense.... most likely the case.
Well....here's hoping we ran out of inventory that needed to be written off or were running low of V and needed more inventory.
Not a good start to the trading day..... I'm guessing Bidenomics won't be highlighted today by our unbiased media.
Kiwi, all things being equal... I agree with the benefits to the patient of a smaller, more potent pill. Our problem isn't the benefits to the patient... our battle is the benefits to the insurance company. They don't care about the patient, they care about the profitability to their business.
Exactly!!!!
Rose, I think that even if we develop a new formulation, it has to be something different and not be called icosapent ethyl. If it is the same molecule, then nothing changes for generics. If our icosapent ethyl is better stronger and faster..... it will not make a difference. Sure it may be cheaper to manufacture and we can lower costs and it could require less pills for the same 4g's but it won't move the needle in the US. Something has to be significantly different to effect the generic dynamic currently in place.
I agree....... I wouldn't spend a nickel on advertising in the US until you can be assured that the generics can't infringe on the CVD patent...... spend that money on developing the ROW business and legal fees.
And why would they do that Kiwi?
My prediction sucked!
We'll be flat or green by the end of the day......
Hayward, there are no guarantees that the price would go up but the earnings per share would increase with all things being equal. Thus it becomes a more valuable company. If they had to later raise more capital to grow, you'd be happy with them selling those 50 million shares(assuming we bought back at $1/sh) back to the market at say $5 share.
BBI, that is as good a strategy as any.
Agreed Sleven........... our suit if successful coupled with GSK v Teva should serve notice on the section 8 carve out that Generics better pay close attention to how they take advantage of this law or else the penalty is HUGE........
I see this as the big one to increase uptake and sales "lack of consensus in the scientific/medical community"..........
Most in the community stubbornly believe that cholesterol causes heart disease so they focus on lowering cholesterol........this is all based on flawed studies and loud proponents as we've discussed...... these attitudes are slowly changing...... we also have to find a way to cleverly combat the "fish oil supplements are good for your heart" narrative. The reality is a diet high in fish is good for you and is excellent if it replaces what would have been your meal of Kraft macaroni and cheese, Ding Dongs, and Ho Ho's. They need to figure out a way to say fish oil supplements have not been proven to reduce CVD risk. Stop wasting that money and have your Dr prescribe the only medicine that was shown to reduce your risk of CVD by 30% when taken with your statin.
C'mon BP, if you are out there........show me the MONEY!
JRoon........even if they prescribed off label, they would still be infringing on someone's patent....and subject to the law if you can catch them.
Well stated Study............ it's still a crap shoot at this stage but as was said in Dumb and Dumber, "so you're saying I still have a chance"
Very impressive resume DMC........... and I loved her approach today.......she started off tough with our attorney and I thought, we are so screwed. He survived with his tail intact thank god and then she put it to the Hikma attorney....... he was frustrated and raised his voice.... finally ended his comments with lots of ums and ahs and was like Biden in a debate just waiting for the clock to run out and said, well I'm out of time. It was a good day for once for us longs and the implications are quite massive.
Sure looks that way BB
I think this will have huge favorable reaction in our share price if this gets remanded back to a jury trial......we should get lots of BP support to once again lambast the unscrupulous practices of Generics use of the skinny label......let's bring the HAMMER DOWN. We need Amarin to finally do some Hammerin.....
I love when the judge schooled the Hikma attorney on the discussion around his Section 8 argument..... she said "all you have to do in your press release is to state, we have a generic that can be used for the HTG indication the same as brand Vascepa's HTG indication"...... she says " how hard is that? Doesn't seem like a much of a burden"
Sleven, refer the Captn's link aand it starts right around 1.22.00 mark
