"The only thing that can cause a massive shift in the 2006 elections will be a a gigantic scandal, and Iraq isn't going to cut it, it didn't work in 2002 and it didn't work in 2004......"
*********************
there has been one scandalous thing after another ever since this creep was selected in 2000. your posts dont make sense to me anymore.
everything you said is right Paula, i apologize for using foul language. thank you though for the points you made regarding insurance, etc while posting to that guy. i talked to my wife and we came up with the same issues you mentioned in your posts to him. i felt i showed much restraint by not responding to the india and china suggestions this guy made as i almost did respond and it probably would not have been anything near what a gentleman would say-----no excuses though, even as i posted the foul word i wondered if i should use a better word-----i just could not believe the callous things that guy was saying. it wont happen again.
great times near for geron: with the advent of the internet, blogging, and progressive media (led by the likes of airamerica.com/air america radio) folks are not being hoodwinked nearly as much as folks were in say 2000. fifty years ago people, for good reason, assumed presidential policies werent the subject of the few at the expense of the many. 1)technology and more importantly 2)brave people who have "had enough" and are willing to do something about it have led the way enabling a more informed public willing to take the lead and question authority.
also, many are saying stocks, despite bernanke's remarks today, will not continue upward so stock market investors just wont be able to put their money anywhere and do well----it will continue to be a stock pickers market and there will be great searches for the very few twenty baggers out there. of course a twenty bagger may be an understatement concerning geron's prospects. everyone may be piling into geron.
i have an extremely bad feeling about you. what about the patients who cant afford to go overseas you efffing.....
bush's veto is a horrible thing----people will die that might have been saved had the federal govt pitched in long ago. since 2000, many people have been sacrificed so bush could further his personal agenda, including, but not limited to, soldiers and civilians in iraq. many must be tired of trying to find the words to describe this horrible administration. during the senate debate, people further observed the evil fluidity of the bush game plan-----a plan that does not fail to adversely affect any part of humanity. really, what good thing has not suffered under his watch. i am optimistic that things are about to change for the better by way of midterm elections. MIDTERM ELECTIONS. everyday day since this jerk has been in office, people have witnessed his disregard for everything valued by our founding fathers. in 2000 many who voted against the jerk probably knew the extent of what was to come, and a number, almost growing exponentially, of folks who voted for bush soon grew weary of one bad move after another. well, a cumulative effect is in the making that will topple this evil administration-----the cumulative effect will take shape in midterm elections. the veto altered the above shape substantially----senator kerry said, "the stakes could not be higher." everyone was affected, in some way, by the veto. now that senators, in front of the whole world, supporting bush demonstrated no logic or science to substantiate their positions for voting against HR810, many will be looking for employment elsewhere. from here on out, it could very well be all good for the hopes of patients, healthy citizens, and geron.
davecsworld has definitely been a disruptive force, you dont recall him???? i think i stopped reading naturally skeptical quickly---a soft basher at least? tradergonewild posted this morning. it seems there are a bunch of new names on the yahoo board and their true intentions may not be known. moms is gone, you promise? what about the other jerks, they could be back in a second. i'm just trying to help and i dont know if i'm right, but it seems posters bent on bashing without substantiation will have a more difficult time here. hey, if the new format at yahoo is acceptable and bashers are gone that's great-----i'm not here to create waves. maybe posting at both places is good and we have investorshub.com as a sure refuge. did i say "sure?"
now davecsworld shows up on other board. consideration must given to whether bashers and shorts should be able to reap the benefits of posting on the coattails of you sharp, science savvy longs. i dont know if they'll come over here, but it seems there are far more obstacles for bashers here. since bashers dont normally worry about the truth at yahoo, but administration here worries about such, i propose we phase out yahoo and maybe post about six times a day over there ONLY to let newbies know where a true discussion of geron occurs. i have to leave for a while and i dont know if i'm right, but i get a continuing gross feeling everytime i go over there-----i think longs are playing right into basher hands by continuing to post on yahoo. there has only been a slight amount of short talk/soft bashing here so far. i'm not against dissenting opinions as long as there is substantiation. bashers/garbage posters get a free pass at yahoo-----make 'em come over here where the truth matters.
i guess there are lots of ways of looking at 63/37, but i'm glad we did not miss the override margin by a vote or two because more seats are now up for grabs in midterm elections as there are more incumbents, voting NO, who now have a steeper hill to climb.
as kerry said, "the stakes couldnt be higher."
crossroads for the republicans and they know it. if frist can get an override margin, his white house chances get better as he will be seen as a leader, facilitator, uniter, moderate, someone with a pair willing to stand up to authority when authority is obviously wrong-----if he cant do that then.....the light shines bright on frist here, he makes or breaks his presidential chances today.
it just seems to me that once support for esc research/therapies/cures strengthens (which is probably happening as we speak), then scaling up the production of these cells would be a natural thing in the minds of most, or at least in mine.
when brownback, oh jeez i'm citing this guy?, talked about fetal farming he described THAT farming as "more advanced cells than embryos." the words in quotes are approximations, but darn close. just the word "fetal" implies something more advanced than an embryo? what are the chances scalability will be affected by passage of the bill? wont there be quite enough time to get the public educated about the importance of scalability without impeding the speed of any esc clinical trial? i'm thinking there have been quite a few senators that said they have no problem voting for the two competing bills because 1) nobody was doing what one bill talked about and 2) no respected scienctist would consider doing what the other bill was talking about. my first thoughts about your great observation is there will be no problem here, especially when positive esc trial results are broadcasted in the future and the cost of no scalability is weighed. know one thing for sure, you know way more about this than i. was charles schumer, along with the rest of the esc advocates, great or what!!!!
like many senators on cspan said today, this debate is just beginning this week and esc's will come more into full view each day until midterm elections. combine the above with the numerous things dr. okarma plans to report on in the second half of 2006 and we may very well be sitting on the launching pad right now-----look at geron's programs (a chrisclub post) at the top of this page above the daily posts.
i missed the first hour, but saw the remaining 6 plus hours. i think the only repub i noticed supporting HR810 was Olympia Snowe of R.I.----i watched on the internet and the only things i clearly know about her speech was her definite support for HR810, not sure if she was a rep, but i thought i saw an "R"-----i'm sure of her last name and i think her first name from memory is Olympia. i think she is from rhode island. the visual on the internet was a little shaky. Harkin was fantastic. Carl Levin was super also. not one weak democrat presenting today!!! bunning(r) needs an esc fix now. most republican arguments were poorly presented. i guess it's hard to argue the republican side---they have no facts to work. logic and science is not on the side of republicans/esc opponents. brownback and the bummer from oklahoma were decent speakers, but again they have no science or logic on their side. like chrisclub said, frist hmmm'd and haw'd for a long time-----all the while i was getting a yucky feeling about his forthrightness. i think prime3end correctly surmised frist does not want override numbers. repubs/esc opponents will pay in midterm elections.
if veto, no override-enter bill gates? with less strings attached as compared to govt funding.
it's really nice to see your name pop in here. to put in my two bits regarding your question: if this board works out like i'm dreaming about, the support shorts receive from the likes of message boards like yahoo could dwindle in a big hurry. folks might realize, if i'm not wrong, the only real platform for the lies shorts put forth is yahoo---yahoo does not enforce the terms of service, therefore it is a breeding ground for all things negative. yahoo shorts put words to the downward price movement of stocks that have no current press releases. if more posters from other message boards find what i'm, and probably others on this board are, sensing then a big change could be heading at shorts, one shorts are not going to like.
hey woodch_uk, i might add that a great amount of investor interest could begin almost immediately should the senate begin debate and not abate ever again considering all the stuff, and probable press coverage, about to happen in the second half of 2006. i think the move to this board is fantastic-----folks are saying multiple id's dont occur here AND terms of service seemed to be enforced therefore this board should stay very clean/truthful/free of geron, personal bashing. i'm very happy Paula is the moderator as she probably has a "direct line" to matt, the founder/administrator of this site. agreed, posting at yahoo to let newbies know of this great new board will be helpful. go geron.
yeah i pretty much thought RMc was a good guy and dr. okarma may have bumped it out. it IS late, end of story. sincerely, thanks esammee.
being sloppy is very poor and the IND quote i responded to is the following: "The stem cell IND data submittal is supposed to be 1Q 2007." i definitely equated "data submittal" with the word filing. i dont want to make a big deal about this at all, but in learning the science i do try my best to be not sloppy. i just wanted you to know that i had an exact reason for saying what i did to Rmc. if i am wrong , i'm wrong and i definitely apologize. i went back and went over my post and Rmc's and please tell me why i think it is still correct for me to advise Rmc of his possible mistake regarding the timing of the IND? Rmc, no hard feelings here and hopefully on your side. thanks again for your help esammmee.
i thought when anyone says IND, that means applying for a clinical trial. sorry about any confusion i caused. thanks again esammee. apologies to the other poster i responded to.
esc spinal cord IND is happening in 2006, not Q1 of 2007. this above information is according to dr. okarma on numerous occasions.
thank you very much hasbro123.
Re: I am very concerned this morning (1 Rating) 25 minutes ago The more I read the posts at Silicon Investor the more I am convinced that some sort of crackdown is coming on the web. The site adminstrator there is entering threads and warning people not to post political things on non-political threads. The people are about to be silenced! WTF is going on here!

Paula, i apologize as i dont know how to do a link. hopefully the above thread entitled: "I am very concerned this morning" will suffice. this thread was pulled from the yhoo message board on yahoo. the thread was started, i believe, 25 minutes ago. my go to person for tech help, my wife, does not know how to do a link either.

pulled above from the yhoo message board on yahoo. did i say that right? lol. if inclined, read posts on the yhoo board on yahoo, seems a ton of folks are quite upset over this yahoo's new message board format.
seems everyone registered yesterday has 15 free posts now available, if you posted yesterday and that post passed scrutiny-----that was quick. after reading some of the policies it appears matt is a hands on type and the junk happening on the yahoo message boards will not be allowed over here. Paula will be a great moderator.
excited to be here. so should we be posting on other boards? if so, what should we post?
