i missed the first hour, but saw the remaining 6 plus hours. i think the only repub i noticed supporting HR810 was Olympia Snowe of R.I.----i watched on the internet and the only things i clearly know about her speech was her definite support for HR810, not sure if she was a rep, but i thought i saw an "R"-----i'm sure of her last name and i think her first name from memory is Olympia. i think she is from rhode island. the visual on the internet was a little shaky. Harkin was fantastic. Carl Levin was super also. not one weak democrat presenting today!!! bunning(r) needs an esc fix now. most republican arguments were poorly presented. i guess it's hard to argue the republican side---they have no facts to work. logic and science is not on the side of republicans/esc opponents. brownback and the bummer from oklahoma were decent speakers, but again they have no science or logic on their side. like chrisclub said, frist hmmm'd and haw'd for a long time-----all the while i was getting a yucky feeling about his forthrightness. i think prime3end correctly surmised frist does not want override numbers. repubs/esc opponents will pay in midterm elections.
