Howard Schultz Sounds Absolutely Terrified of a Bernie Sanders Presidency
The billionaire former Starbucks CEO still isn't sure what he's for—but he's definitely against a candidate who would raise taxes on the super-rich.
BY JAY WILLIS
April 5, 2019
Fox News
On Thursday, billionaire coffee magnate Howard Schultz made his latest impassioned pitch for a independent 2020 White House bid, making him perhaps the first-ever presidential candidate with an approval rating of four percent to get a nationally-televised primetime special all to himself.
In a Fox News town hall moderated by Martha MacCallum and Bret Baier, the former Starbucks CEO spent most of his allotted airtime hopscotching his way over hot-button policy issues, careful to never say anything that might betray the existence of a coherent worldview. He opined that the country needs "fierce, strict levels of control on the border to keep bad people from coming in," but declined to "get into a wall or anything." He proclaimed that everyone has a right to "affordable health care," excoriating Democrats and Republicans for their morally equivalent crimes of, respectively, supporting Medicare for All and working tirelessly to repeal the Affordable Care Act. He went on to hint that "universal catastrophic coverage" might strike what he views as a more appropriate balance of their competing positions, but neglected to share how he would actually implement such a scheme as president.
He earnestly harped on the three characteristics he values most—honesty, civility, and results—while never managing to define those terms beyond the sort of vapid corporate bromides you might see on an inspirational poster in a Starbucks break room.
Elsewhere, Schultz emphasized that Americans should believe the women sharing "concerning" stories of unwanted touching on the part of Joe Biden, but insinuated that the timing of their disclosures is perhaps a little fishy. "Vice President Biden has served the country for 40 years," Schultz said, demonstrating a nuanced grasp of the evidentiary relationship between immediacy of reporting and veracity of allegations. "He has been vice president for eight years," Schultz added, deftly showing viewers that he understands the constellation of factors that might make women reluctant to publicly discuss the inappropriate behavior of one of the most powerful men in the world. "The only thing I would ask is one question: Why is this coming up now?"
In a particularly inspired sequence, Schultz asserted that the most vexing, foundational problem in Washington today is that "the American people are not in the room." Thus, if he were to become president, he promised to put an empty chair at every negotiating table in an effort to discourage partisan rancor from further derailing the important business of governing. "That chair represents the American people," he explained. "We're not going to leave the room until we solve the problem for the American people!" Those of you who assumed no one in politics would ever deploy empty-chair imagery more ineptly than Clint Eastwood clearly underestimated Howard Schultz's ability to innovate.
Howard Schultz's plan for immigration is to put an empty chair in a room and tell politicians the chair represents the American people
Perhaps the event's only revealing moment came when Schultz discussed the potential consequences of Democrats selecting Bernie Sanders, who currently polls second among 2020 hopefuls and raised more than $18 million in the first six weeks of his campaign, as their party's nominee. Picking a "far-left person" who espouses "socialist" polices, he warned in an ominous tone, will guarantee a re-election win for Donald Trump. That, remember, is why he decided to explore an independent White House run in the first place: to provide politics-weary Americans with a centrist alternative to a left-wing Democratic extremist.
Strangely, the surging popularity among those same politics-weary Americans of so-called "socialist" ideas like Medicare for All and a Green New Deal went unmentioned. So did the results of a poll published just this week in which Sanders, in a hypothetical head-to-head matchup against Trump, finished a comfortable eight points ahead of the sitting president. And for whatever reason, the simple fact that any president who would raise taxes on the super-rich poses an existential threat to Howard Schultz's billions never came up.

Buried lede: So now we have caravans loading up with migrants from Sri Lanka, Congo, Haiti...?
By Monica Showalter
In its story about thousands of caravan migrants encountering a slow-walk for "humanitarian" visas of passage to the U.S. from Mexican officials, Reuters let out a doozy of a detail way down in its story about the matter:
At the border town of Tapachula, near the southern tip of Mexico bordering Guatemala, another group included people from Sri Lanka, Congo and Haiti, a federal official said. Some migrants said Mexican officials had slowed down the process of awarding the visas or denied them outright without providing any explanation.
A small group lashed out at border officials in Tapachula on Tuesday over the delays, throwing rocks and breaking windows of a local migration institute building.
Lovely bunch, aren't they, with their demands for instant customer service from Mexican officials?
They've obviously got a lot of money for plane flights to places like Mexico along with cartel smuggler fees, therefore they are accustomed to such service. In fact, they are convinced they are entitled to it, same as they get at the Hertz counter. When they don't, they resort to road rage–style brick-throwing.
What it suggests is that the caravans have gone global. They've been marketed in the press and by its NGO allies and by the Catholic Church as a Central America thing, but they're now attracting far more than Central Americans. The world was watching closely as President Trump dealt with the border debacle with the arrival of the first Central American caravan late last year — and everyone could see that leftist judges and congresspeople defeating him every time, unable to keep the illegal migrants out. And with Europe cracking down on the big migrant waves and sending the boats back to Libya and elsewhere, the migrants with money have decided they'll come here through Mexico, too. They've concluded it's a can't-lose proposition.
They represent a far bigger migrant market — and cartel profit center — than just the entire Central American bloc. So, instead of 1.5 million migrants from Central America expected to arrive here this year — the number can swell enormously higher. These global migrants can see the loopholes that enabled people such as ungrateful Honduran "Lady Frijoles," recently charged with assault with a deadly weapon in Dallas, to come here scot-free. Asylum claims give any asker at least three free years of working in the U.S. as they await a judge's decision about their claims, meaning being sent back still yields three free years of working in America, and with instant customer service from U.S. officials, all at zero cost.
Compare and contrast to what U.S. legal immigration takes — ten years of waiting in line for service, thousands of dollars of costs, lots of lost paperwork from U.S. officials, and no free time working in America as they await claims.
What's a migrant going to do? Europe's pulling up the drawbridge. America is letting everyone in for free. If leftist judges and U.S. congressional leftists thought that freebie for Central Americans was going to stay with Central American migrants alone, they had another thing coming. Plane flights are cheap and frequent now.
Build an open border — and they will come.

Why is Ecuador still protecting a scorpion like Assange?
By Monica Showalter
Remember Julian Assange? The chief WikiLeaker who's in trouble with the law for leaking all those troves of classified U.S. secrets during the Bush years is still holed up in the Ecuadorian embassy in London. WikiLeaks reports that he's about to be thrown out. Ecuador says there are no such plans.
According to the Associated Press:
LONDON (AP) — British police stationed armed officers outside the Ecuadorian Embassy in London on Friday after tweets from WikiLeaks quoted what it said were high-level sources saying that Julian Assange could be kicked out of the building within "hours to days."
...and...
Police said in a statement there is an active warrant for Assange's arrest and that the police are "obliged to execute that warrant should he leave the Embassy."
After reading the AP backstory, all one can wonder is why they didn't kick him out yesterday.
WikiLeaks claims that the pretext for kicking him out was some issue with leaks in what it calls the "#INAPapers offshore scandal," whatever that might be.
The better reason, though, is this charming little act from WikiLeaks:
[Ecuadorian president Lenin] Moreno accused WikiLeaks of intercepting phone calls and private conversations as well as "photos of my bedroom, what I eat, and how my wife and daughters and friends dance."
Umm, that's enough. If WikiLeaks did this, and Ecuador says it did, why the heck are the Ecuadorians protecting this clown? The guy gets into their stuff because he's so bored in the embassy that he can't stop himself from exposing his own hosts, and he goes after the people who are protecting him?
For just that, he's got to go.
Aesop's fable of the scorpion who couldn't help himself is what comes to mind with that one.
Ecuador has a lot of reasons to throw Assange out, given that it's in terrible hock to China and could use an ally, and it's trying to rejoin the real world by breaking from the Chavista bloc it belonged to earlier. Assange originally won asylum in the Ecuadorian embassy because Ecuador's previous Chavista president, Rafael Correa (now on the run with corruption charges chasing him), hated President Bush. Bush-hatred is a hard sell now. For the Left, Bush-hate is actually passé, given that they've now got Trump to scream about. So Assange, whose supporters rallied around him based on their loathing of President Bush, probably aren't going to be so numerous. That too is another reason for Ecuador to wash its hands of him.
The case for throwing Assange out has never been stronger just on its own merits. Now that Assange has started to turn on them and sting them like a scorpion, Ecuador is just plain stupid to hold him so much as one more minute.

Hollywood: Do You Know Why You’re in Georgia?
By Trevor Thomas
After Georgia lost out to Louisiana on the production of Ray (the film about Georgia native Ray Charles) in 2008, then Georgia governor -- now U.S. Secretary of Agriculture -- Sonny Perdue, a Republican, signed tax-incentive legislation that was intended to lure the film industry to Georgia. It worked, and in a big way. Georgia is now often referred to as “the Hollywood of the South.” However, the way things are trending in film production, California may soon seek to become “the Georgia of the West.”
Just a couple of weeks ago, a report by Atlanta’s NBC News affiliate “11-Alive” described Georgia as “the top filming location in the world.” In 2016 and 2017, Georgia led the U.S. in the number of top-grossing feature films produced. In that two-year period, Georgia produced 32 such films, while California was second with 22 top-grossing films. In 2016, Georgia led the world in the production of top-grossing films.
Additionally, in the last decade Georgia has seen a massive investment in film and television infrastructure. U.S. News reports that, “According to Adweek, 16 film and TV studios announced plans to locate or expand facilities in Georgia since 2010.” In 2014, Pinewood Studios Group built its massive Georgia campus. According to U.S. News,
After two expansions, the 700-acre site now houses 18 sound stages with nearly 1 million square feet of covered space. Outside of California, Pinewood Atlanta is the largest purpose-built studio complex in the country, meaning it was built specifically to fit the needs of the film industry.
A Time magazine piece last year reports on “How Georgia Became the Hollywood of the South.” The piece contains several photos of the booming film infrastructure present in Georgia. The piece also notes,
In 2007, the film industry spent $93 million on productions in Georgia. In 2016, it spent over $2 billion. In the past decade, the tax perk has attracted the Hunger Games franchise, the Fast and Furious movies and superproducer Tyler Perry, who has made the state his base. Television hits like Stranger Things, critical darlings like Atlanta and reality series like The Real Housewives of Atlanta have all set up shop in the capital, often for years at a time. Georgia’s government estimates that in 2016 alone, the film industry gave the state a $7 billion economic boost through job creation and tourism.
In other words, the film industry and the state of Georgia have a nice little thing going that seems to be extremely financially beneficial to both sides. However, it doesn’t seem to be widely understood in Hollywood why things in Georgia are so favorable for their industry. This especially seems to be the case with those who make their living in front of the cameras. For those of you who need reminding or are confused or ignorant about why the film industry likes Georgia, allow me to shed a bit of light on the matter.
For over a decade, the Republican Party has dominated Georgia’s politics. The GOP in Georgia has had a “political trifecta” -- control of the office of the governor, the state House, and the state Senate -- since 2005. Republicans have won every statewide race since 2010. Notice how GOP control of Georgia politics coincides with the meteoric rise of the film industry in Georgia. It was a GOP governor, House, and Senate in Georgia that gave Hollywood the favorable financial conditions it now enjoys, and it is Georgia republicans who keep such conditions in place.
The Georgia GOP has won elections, not just by promising to govern as economic conservatives, but because of their conservative positions on the moral issues as well -- especially the issues of life in the womb and marriage. Recall that like dozens of other U.S. states, the Georgia electorate -- the voters, not the politicians or courts, mind you -- overwhelmingly chose to define marriage as the union of one man and one woman. Unsurprisingly, for well over a decade now, these same voters have decided that they want politicians who share their worldview on the moral issues.
In other words, if you want the benefits of financial conservatism, then you’re going to have to be at least content with conservative legislation on abortion and the like. The same political worldview that has created an economic climate that allows for the creation of thousands of jobs and billions in revenue in the film industry is the same political worldview that protects life in the womb, believes marriage is the union of one man and one woman, believes that boys don’t belong in girls’ locker rooms, and so on. These positions have proved quite politically popular in Georgia, and that is why the GOP is in power here.
Ignorant of such facts, for weeks now dozens of Hollywood actors and actresses have threatened the state of Georgia over a recently passed -- but yet to be signed into law -- pro-life “fetal heartbeat” law. A few days after the Georgia Senate passed the LIFE Act, Alyssa Milano -- who thinks MAGA hats are “the new white hood” -- penned a brief and angry op-ed for Deadline. A day after Milano’s op-ed, the Writers Guild of America also took their “brave” stand against defending the most helpless and innocent among us. As if we all didn’t already know, Hollywood again made it clear that their “right” to do whatever they wish in the sexual realm trumps almost everything else.
Filmmakers may well decide that instead of making movies and TV shows in Georgia, they would rather take a “principled” stand in favor of killing the unborn and take their business elsewhere. If they hope to find another state that will give them a similar sweet deal on taxes as has Georgia, almost certainly such a state will also be filled with conservatives and conservative politicians who share Georgia’s views on the unborn.
Along with believing in capitalism and the free market, conservatives all over the U.S. generally also believe in the right to life, marriage as the union of one man and one woman, that science determines sex, and so on. We conservatives -- especially Christian conservatives -- reject the immoral “theology of self” that so permeates Hollywood. We believe that there is a higher Law that all other law and good government must be rooted in and subject to.
Thankfully -- unlike Georgia’s last Republican governor -- in Brian Kemp it seems we now have a governor who’s actually willing to govern according to conservative principles. Though signing into law a bill that almost certainly will -- at least temporarily -- be blocked by the courts is not the bravest political act Governor Kemp could -- or should -- perform. There are other grave moral matters that deserve his, and the Georgia legislature’s, attention.
A strong religious liberty bill (succeeding where former Governor Deal failed), protecting female athletes and students from the transgender madness that is sweeping the nation -- these also need sound conservative action in Georgia. Such legislation will be much more likely to withstand legal challenges. And make no mistake about it, as is the case with abortion, Hollywood perverts will howl about any legislation that doesn’t conform to their immoral worldview.
On abortion, Governor Kemp -- along with all Georgia Republicans -- should call the bluff of the Hollywood elite. Let’s see if they really are willing to abandon the tens of millions in profits that Georgia’s conservative tax laws allow them, along with the multimillion-dollar infrastructure investments already in place in Georgia. In other words, if Hollywood wants to continue to do business in Georgia, it can surrender to the will of Georgians when it comes to our laws. If not, then good riddance, and good luck finding a political climate that will give you what you want on the economic and the moral issues.

A surefire way to stop Pelosi from getting ahold of Trump's tax returns
By Thomas Lifson
Nancy Pelosi is really proud of her brand-new tool, a recently rediscovered section of a 1924 law, to get access to the last six years of Donald Trump's tax returns.
Watch her explain why she thinks there is an airtight case for forcing disclosure of the documents:
Jeanne Sahadi of CNN adds:
... thanks to a 1924 provision in the Internal Revenue Code, the chairmen of the House Ways and Means Committee and Senate Finance Committee are authorized to request the president's — or indeed anyone's — tax returns from the IRS to conduct an investigation.
She and the Democrats correctly believe that in the voluminous returns, they will find plenty to criticize. It is a given that the sheer complexity of real estate taxation and magnitude of the sums involved will yield something. They know that, and Trump knows it, too. It is a bigger fishing expedition than a planeload of anglers headed to Cabo.
While there no doubt will be legal action by President Trump's lawyers explaining that this is an abuse of the oversight function of Congress since it is aimed purely at him, there is a danger of a rogue, Trump-hating judge going along with it and refusing a temporary stay during appeal.
While the legal avenue ought to be pursued, I have another suggestion.
Senator Orrin Hatch, chair of the senate Finance Committee, should announce that if the House Ways and Means Committee pursues Trump's tax returns, it will go after Nancy Pelosi's tax returns, and for good measure George Soros's, Tom Steyer's, Dianne Feinstein's, and those of the top 20 donors to Democrat super-PACs.
That, more than anything else, should persuade the Dems that this would be a dangerous precedent.

Ocasio-Cortez attacks black rising star at Fox News -- and face-plants
By Thomas Lifson
The fame resulting from the huge amount of media attention paid to Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has become a dangerous drug for her. Completely unaware of the limitations of her education and knowledge base, she doesn’t hesitate to shoot off her mouth before getting her facts straight. And she blames Fox News for her rising unfavorability in polling.
So, it was not too surprising that she shot off a tweet criticizing Lawrence Jones, who appears to be being groomed for very big things at Fox News, on utterly fatuous grounds. If you don’t recognize his name, I suspect you will become familiar with him the coming months and years. Jones, who is African-American, joined Fox News as a contributor at the end of last year, and already is being sent out on reporting assignments, which looks to me as though he is being developed for a bigger role than a mere talking head on opinion panels, the usual fate of people with the title “contributor.” His background is impressive, showing initiative and leadership as a conservative since his early years, and going on the head up Campus Reform, a wonderful organization. He comes across as sincere, smart, and unpretentious. As you can tell, I am a big fan.
Ocasio-Cortez is right to fear him. He eats progressive stupidity for breakfast.
So, when Jones did a live shot at the Mexican border and tweeted about it, Ocasio-Cortez responded with a tweet to her millions of followers, and hat tip to the person who first mocked Jones (on ridiculous grounds). Here are the tweets (hat tip: The Right Scoop)
Here is the tweet she references:
And here is the devastating response from Jones:
And last night on Hannity, Jones drive home the point, mentioning a shooting two months ago, and earlier cross-border gun battles:
Once again, Ocasio-Cortez is exposed as a smarmy know-nothing. Ad someone who goes after minorities who happen to be conservative.

Omar, Ocasio-Cortez and other defenders of Venezuela socialism are battering Democrats in Florida
By Monica Showalter
Ever heard of Miami Cubans? Now, it's Miami Venezuelans.
Fox News is reporting that Venezuelans are flocking to the Republican Party not just over President Trump's strong stance against the socialist hellhole in that country, but because the loudest representatives of the Democratic 'vanguard,' such as Rep. Ilhan Omar, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, are so repulsively for it. Here's the Fox story:
As the country’s problems worsen, Democratic Venezuelan-Americans question whether their party’s actions go far enough. A growing number of exiles say they feel forgotten by a new generation of outspoken, progressive Democrats, leaving them less beholden to a party they had long supported.
Issues that for years were hotly debated in an area of Miami known as "Doral-zuela" due to its vibrant Venezuelan community, have made their way to the ears of some of the most powerful lawmakers in Washington, D.C.
The Venezuelans are angry that, as the country continues to spiral, some Democrats keep calling on the U.S. to pull out of Venezuela and lift all sanctions against the government.
There is nothing more revolting than being worried sick about your relatives back home in Caracas not being able to get drinking water except out of a sewer, and worse still, not being able to reach them by phone due to all the power blackouts, and then hearing Democrats offer a banquet of free stuff in their legislative and stump speeches, promising the same way the late Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez who got the country into this mess, promised -- and even in the face of the horrific failure of it all - hearing them speak with mechanical forked tongue about the importance of non-intervention to keep the socialist dictatorship in place.
And any thought of linking the socialism of Venezuela to the socialism they expound, is a pipe dream. Theirs will be a really good socialism, see, to paraphrase the late Tom Wolfe.
How could you not despise them?
Fox News quotes ordinary Florida Venezuelans with some striking insights that have had my blood boiling for awhile - I'll emphasize the money quotes:
“This is where the Democrats have consistently dropped the ball…they have never felt like it was an important issue…it's very difficult to feel and coexist in the same party that is saying these things are so ignorant about my homeland,” said Venezuelan immigrant Helena Poleo.
...and...
“Our local Democratic leaders have been very vocal…but the rest of the country, the Democrats seem to be very ill-informed…so they are themselves fueling this,” Poleo said.
...and...
Luigi Boria, who moved to the U.S. from Venezuela with his wife and kids in 1989, agrees. He said he doesn’t understand how elected officials could come to his community of exiles, many having experienced socialism first-hand, to tout those policies.
“This is something that's scares me coming from Venezuela…we need the United States because we love this country. This is a great country. And we came here looking for help…and we don't want that to get thrown out like what happened in Venezuela,” said Boria, the former mayor of Doral, home to the largest concentration of Venezuelans in Miami.
Ignorance, a sense that Latin countries aren't important, a fear that Democrats are repeating the stupidities of Hugo Chavez all on their own - it adds up.
I suspect this is what a lot of Latino voters are thinking. President Trump's recent blasts at the local corruption in Puerto Rico over the hurricane aid is probably drawing a lot of Orlando Puerto Ricans to the GOP, too. There's definitely a reason Latino voter approval of Trump has skyrocketed to 50%, something Mitt Romney can eat his heart out about.
Real Clear Politics has the scoop about how Latinos are flocking to Trump, based on polls and other factors, with a excellent, albeit incomplete, analysis by Steve Cortes about why it's happening.
McLaughlin & Associates revealedthat Hispanic approval for Trump in March jumped to 50%. This number matched the January Marist/NPR/PBS survey that shocked cynics with its own 50% approval finding. Even if those polls are too aggressive, February’s Morning Consult/Politico poll showed Trump’s Hispanic approval vaulting to a still-impressive 45%.
(Cortes could have added Venezuela to his list of why Latinos support Trump, because this is a biggie):
The other thing is this: Democrats not only have blown it with Miami Venezuelans and probably many other Latinos, they blew something that was actually a no-brainer for them. They could have had Venezuelan-Americans eating out of their hand. The Venezuelans in Florida are well-educated, they're urban, and I know a lot of them - good people - they lean left, but nevertheless despise Chavista socialist horrors, and cherish democracy. Having them in the Democratic Party would have been easy if Democrats had any principles and cared about the region. They don't, - so losing them is an own-goal.
I linked this New York Times video yesterday, but this is a good one to watch - a Venezuelan, or Venezuelan-American (I think she's a Venezuelan citizen), Joanna Hausmann, tried to talk sense into her fellow U.S. liberals, arguing that people on the left are supposed to care about human rights and by supporting Maduro, they sure as heck don't.
It's absolutely delicious.
Final cut? Democrats are blowing it badly on Venezuela - they can kiss Florida and all its electoral votes goodbye for it -- and it's their own darn fault. Proud of yourself, Bernie? Impressed by your own-goal, Sandy? Thanks, Ilhan...

I agree...I was very disappointed when he backed off shutting down the border...if you aren't going to back it up...don't threaten to do it.
I honestly don't know what to do in 2020...on the way to work I hear many Trump supporters say...they voted for him in 2016...but won't in 2020...they won't vote for a Dem...they might just stay home if the wall and immigration isn't dealt with properly.
General Michael Flynn may be the key to uncovering and prosecuting the Deep State attempted coup
By Thomas Lifson
The Russia Hoax attempted coup involved senior figures in the “intelligence community,” the very people that Chuck Schumer, in a moment of candor, warned Donald Trump -- before he was inaugurated as President -- about opposing, suggesting that a sinister cabal of officials actually runs the country. Speaking to Rachel Maddow, who became perhaps the most dedicated promoter of the hoax (for fun and ratings), he warned the incoming chief executive:
“Let me tell you, you take on the intelligence community, they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you,” Schumer told MSNBC's Rachel Maddow.
Watch:
Even as obsessive Trump-hating promoters of the hoax like Adam Schiff and Jerrold Nadler continue to troll for evidence in the Mueller Report to use for impeachment, it is important to uncover the secret maneuvers to led to spying on the Trump campaign and the appointment of Mueller.
David P. Goldman, who often writes under the pen name of Spengler, has a very intriguing suggestion, at PJ Media, of the perfect person to run the campaign to hold the conspirators responsible for their treachery: General Michael Flynn: Read the whole thing, but here is some key information:
President Trump should pardon Gen. Flynn right now and summon him back to Washington. Mueller forced Flynn to plead guilty to an invented charge of lying to FBI agents, even though the FBI agents who interviewed him about Russian contacts said that they thought he was telling the truth. Now that the Mueller investigation has come up with nothing, the frame-up of Gen. Flynn appears all the more heinous. The Deep State feared Mike Flynn, with good reason. Trump should reappoint him to a top job, and really terrify his opponents.
The background context about why Flynn was targeted is fascinating and was previously unknown to me. It seems that that people with very dirty hands had to take him (and Trump) out, and when Trump made him National Security Advisor:
Flynn's Defense Intelligence Agency produced a now-notorious 2012 report warning that CIA backing for Sunni rebels fighting Assad would lead to the rise of a new Caliphate movement, namely ISIS. The Obama administration threw its support behind the "Arab Spring" rebellion in Syria, ignoring the fact that Islamist terrorists led the opposition to Assad. This was reported exhaustively in specialist media, for example, Brad Hoff's July 2016 essay in Foreign Policy Journal: Flynn humiliated the bungling CIA and exposed the incompetence and deception of the Obama administration, and got fired for it.
Gneeral Flynn when he headed the DIA (offical photo)
If the proper authorities turn over the CIA's rock and examine its underside, the result will be the exposure of an intelligence failure of galactic proportions. The CIA channeled Saudi money into al-Qaeda fronts in Syria and helped move a large part of the late Col. Qaddafi's massive arsenal to Syria. The jihadists backed by the CIA eventually formed a good deal of ISIS. Heads would roll at CIA. And when I say "proper authorities," I mean Gen. Flynn in his capacity as National Security Adviser, a job in which he lasted a month before the Deep State set him up and persuaded President Trump to fire him.
One rock that needs to be turned over is the collaboration among intelligence agencies mention in the infamous Strzok-Page text messages. Remember that the FBI Counter-intelligence operation where Peter Strzok was second-in-command was meeting with unnamed intelligence agencies with regard to the “insurance policy.”
The attempt by intelligence agencies to unseat a president they disagreed with over policy is about as serious as it gets when it comes to scandal. If properly uncovered and prosecuted, it has the potential to alter the course of American politics. That’s a big if. It will require toughness and knowledgeable investigators. Fortunately, we have a president who believes in hitting back twice as hard.
