Verizon takes on the Iphone
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20071003/ts_nm/verizon_phones_dc
MV would be a nice way of distinguishing this phone from the iphone. Touch screen, keyboard, and VR all in one.
The holiday season is upon us. It would be nice to see that Tier 1 OEM soon.

Well, here's an alternate point of view on Telnor without Limits:
This may be the PERFECT companion to launch at the same time as Iris!! Why? Because it sounds to me, from my very limited Spanish, that Telnor without limits is some sort of bundled, unlimited calling plan. What does that mean to us? If people have access to unlimited calling, they may be more likely to sign up for Iris. Pay the monthly service charge of 4 bucks, but not have to worry about minutes used on top of that. For someone who is looking for another way to access email, this could prove to be very cost effective, and may GREATLY increase our penetration rate.
This all is very good news today. Our fortunes may be about to change!
Thanks for the link, Hschwartz
Sorry, I posted page two first. Click on page 1 for the beginning of the article.
Interesting read: Old article, but quite relevant.

Exploding cellular growth + lower tech phones = huge potential for ONEV. I wonder how much it is worth to Carlos to tap the Indian market?
BTW, it is nearing October 1st, which is pretty much the start of the holiday shopping season. Maybe this will be the year we'll see that Tier 1 OEM bundle in the Sunday circulars.
SOO much potential, but time is the enemy. Hoping for an interesting week here.

Hallin, thanks for the DD. That is one of the more encouraging things I have heard lately. I think it is important to get MCC into "brick and mortar" store, and this is confirmation that it is happening. Hopefully it is a precurser to an OEM bundle for the holiday season. Whatever the case, it shows real progress, as Fry is not a small operation, and I doubt they would let "scam" software in the door.
Now we need Telnor, India, the Tier 1 OEM, and Telmex (that would be my guess for the order).
Daisy, thanks for sharing Dean's response.
It makes sense that Telmex would be interested in the whole Iris package instead of the email-only feature, and clearly that would be better for ONEV in the long run. My only question is don't you think this will significantly prolong Telmex's anticipated launch date, instead of shortening it. I would imagine it would be lot more work getting Telmex up and running with Iris than just the email feature alone.
The way I read Dean's email to you, it seems he is giving you an indication that there may in fact be a delay, but that they are currently discussing it with Telmex. He is basically saying, from my reading, that "we were good to go with a Q3 launch when it was just email, but now they want all of Iris, so it may be delayed."
However, I don't have the whole context of the email, and perhaps I am reading it wrong. Do you have other info which would indicate ONEV could launch Iris to all of Telmex that soon? TIA. I agree, overall this is very positive.
I've been waiting for 4 years as of this week. I'm not looking for any more buying opportunities, I'm looking for results. Hopefully this week will bring news, because we are long overdue.
GLTA
Part of the Telnor site appears to be down. We can only hope it is in transition for the Iris launch. . .
Perhaps tomorrow is the day?

Pennies to dollars
Unless I missed them, I can't find any Iris ads today. EOM
Unless the PR is next week GLTA
I will never complain about new hires. IMO it was nearly impossible to grow the business with the existing workforce. They have clearly been spread way too thin, and it looks like these guys have plenty of contacts in the industry. Let these guys land a couple of contracts, and then let's hire some people on the MCC side!!
I'd say this move signals that Dean is confident revenue will be starting soon.
News out: 2 new hires

This is certainly a good time to be involved with Carlos Slim, Telmex, and American Movil.

I think the first domino is about to fall.
By all means shove away lol. The more subs we get, the more money in our pocket. We hopefully will see a big MV display right in the middle of their web page very soon.
Telnor's site has changed. Looks like the "Infinitum" promotion is ending 4/30. I wonder what will be in that promo box after April 30th. . .
http://www.telnor.com/index.php?
Veno, from the Intro, first paragraph:
"To date, our customers include:
Telefonos de Mexico, S.A.B. de C.V. (TELMEX), Intel Corporation, Alltel Wireless, Inland Cellular, Nex-Tec Wireless and several additional telecom service providers throughout the United States."
Not sure if this is what Ihub was referring to, but it caught my eye. If Alltel has chosen not to buyout the contract, perhaps we have a foot in the door?
Telnor's website still down. EOM
Wow, that was some video. They forgot to show the part where the computers become self-aware and start launching the missles. LOL
Pretty impressive stuff. Obviously, the prior relationship between ONEV, Intel, and the UMPC makes this video pretty exciting. Don't know if we are still "the one" for Intel, but it is nice to consider that possibility. Also, I couldn't help thinking that there was a reason for the Chinese patents in light of that video. Oh, the potential
Thanks for the link.
Buy,
It is very nice to have you back.
Best wishes.
Nice try Net. Unfortunately for you the broken English is a dead giveaway.
IMO a weak stock market can help ONEV's stock price, assuming they deliver the deals they are promising. If the market tanks, people will be looking for other places to put money, and may be more willing to take risks in small companies if the blue chips are getting hammered.
Thanks, it couldn't happen soon enough!
GLTY
An exclusive agreement, or only 1 has shown interest? Gut feeling or DD? TIA
I thought, in terms of US PC sales, that the big four constituted "Tier 1," but I certainly could be wrong. Right now, I would take any of the five, that's for sure. GLTA
Tells me there may be more than one OEM lined up. I don't think Lenovo is considered a Tier 1, at least in this country. Dell, Gateway, HP, and Sony are the 4 Tier 1's from what I understand.
At this point, I don't care who it is, I just want to see it happen.
As would I, in a NY minute. EOM
Morley, I have been thinking about that opportunity for weeks now. My gut tells me it won't happen, but who knows. What better way to kick off a slick line of voice controlled Vista PC's than a nice glitzy spot during the Superbowl. I believe we will see the Tier 1 OEM/ONEV partnership very soon, but I don't know if it will be in time for the Superbowl. One thing's for sure, if we did see such an ad, Monday would be quite interesting.
IMO, this app is a perfect way to put the much needed WOW into Vista. Now we just the OEM's and/or MSFT to agree!
Go ONEV.
Sky, don't you think you are calling the game a tad early? How do you know we have exhausted our avenues in America? Since we have all held this long, how 'bout we see what the next few weeks brings? The Hipe situation interests me quite a bit, but for reasons that have nothing to do with Hipe.
GLTY
Go ONEV.
You are lying, and it isn't the first time, Net. One of these times the SEC may finally come for you as they have for other financial message board liars.
For the rest here that possess some analytical thought, I do find it interesting that the "powered by One Voice" logo is gone, but the description of the product remains the same. I won't go into wild speculation, but I do believe that is likely a positive development, not a negative one. Once again, the description is identical to the description when ONEV's product was named on the same page. We know nobody else developed the same product overnight, so what else is going on?
The next couple of weeks are going to be very intersting to say the least.
When one gets banned, is it only the user name, or does it apply to IP addresses? This guy is a wack job and it is not the first time he has told blatant lies. It is funny to see him cause 1vlong to wet his pants with a single post.
Go ONEV. Oh yeah: Pennies to dollars

I would think with services like this, the carriers would be scrambling for a lower cost DA solution. The nice thing about a flat monthly fee or rate hike is that it makes the consumer feel they are getting a bargain (while ONEV gets its money every month).
It would sure be nice if Cingular saw the benefit of this.

Let's hope for a good couple of months.
Let's go ONEV
Sarge,
This is a different age. There is considerable risk in even the blue chips these days. Intel, MSFT, auto makers, pharmaceuticals, GE, etc, etc: all stagnant or have taken huge hits in the past few years. Look at how many "good companies" have taken hits to their PPS in the last 5 years, never to fully recover. If I would have invested in many of these, I would still be down quite a bit. As it is, I have lowered my cost basis to the point where I am confident I will be able to at least break even, likely a lot more.
When news hits, there will be more than adequate volume to sell.
Commissions: Ten bucks a trade, whether it's 5K or 500K. Not a bad deal.
Capital gains: Many longs here are in the 10-15% range for a lot of their shares. If this pops enough, I will be happy to pay the higher rate for the rest of my shares.
Plus, if it goes to a buck or two, some of us will be pretty well off. It's all about risk v. reward, and I think we are going to see the reward side very soon.
GLTY. I hope we all make money here.
Copy, but the flip side is that if ANY of these larger deals come to fruition, nobody is going to be worrying about tenths of a penny. Honestly, I am not a penny player, so I probably don't walk the edge as closely as some here do. I get enough risk in other areas of my life ;)
Steve, I hope you get your target price or lower. I didn't mean to sound naive, I just think that the risk of having to chase this one is growing each day. I have been very skeptical the past year, but there are some pretty significant signs out there that this just may turn around, and soon. My only point was I would hate to miss the opportunity to average down given your cost basis and where we are now.
GLTY. We have been waiting a long time.
Steve, it seems curious you would split hairs over a tenth of a penny when your cost average is ten cents. Even at .011 or .012, you could lower your cost basis a ton, and waiting for .01 with what they have in the pipe seems risky to me. IMO, the main question is will this company survive, and if you conclude "yes" as I have, these prices are looking pretty good. Just an observation and my opinion only. . . Good luck whatever you decide
Interesting read. . .
Sorry if it has been posted already. Take note of the comment from Richard a few comments down from the top. Says he is the sales mgr for Hipe. Sounds like we aren't the only ones excited about the remote.
OK, Netspiderpatientjugglerlargecarrier, thanks for the advice.
Buy,
Many thanks for reporting back to the board. I would think we are doing pretty well if the remote worked in that environment.
Veno, nice picture in PC Mag.
Some good DD on RB from some unlikely sources LOL. Maybe, just maybe, Tata is ramping up for a MV launch too.
As always, the proof will be in the pudding, but Mexico, India, and MCC all seem to be in play right now. If this pans out, we might just climb out of this giant hole.
